Honor has officially launched the X9d 5G in Malaysia. The phone’s standout feature is its massive 8,300mAh battery, but the rest of the hardware sits firmly in the mid-range category. It runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset and carries specs that don’t quite match the battery’s headline-grabbing size.

Honor X9d Specifications

Up front, the phone features a 6.79-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2640 × 1200 pixels. The panel supports HDR-level brightness, peaking at 6000 nits in certain conditions, along with eye-comfort and dynamic-dimming technologies. Honor has also used aluminosilicate glass for extra durability.

The X9d 5G is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chipset paired with an Adreno 810 GPU. On the software side, it ships with Android 15 running Honor’s MagicOS 9.0. Memory options include 12GB RAM with 256GB storage or 12GB RAM with 512GB storage.

The camera setup features a 108MP dual rear system with optical image stabilization, 4K video recording, and 10x digital zoom. On the front, there’s a 16MP selfie camera tucked into a punch-hole cutout.

One of the biggest talking points of the X9d is its 8,300mAh battery. It supports 66W fast wired charging and even offers reverse wired charging to top up other devices.

The X9d 5G also comes with a long list of durability and connectivity features: IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K certifications, drop and dust resistance, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, stereo speakers, and a USB-C port. The device weighs 193 grams and measures 7.76mm thick. Color options include Reddish Brown, Forest Green, Sunrise Gold, and Midnight Black.

Honor X9d Price and Availability

In Malaysia, the X9d 5G is priced at MYR 1,499 for the 256GB model and MYR 1,699 for the 512GB version. 

The device is currently on pre-order phase from September 24 to October 9, 2025, through Honor’s official site and retail partners such as Lazada, Shopee, and Harvey Norman. Customers who preorder will also receive free gifts worth MYR 1,146, including an Honor Pad X7 and extended warranty packages.

Honor has officially locked in the launch date for its next mid-range phone, the Honor X9d, and it’s happening in Malaysia later this month. The event is set for September 24, 2025, at 3 PM local time (7 AM UTC), and early teasers are already giving us a pretty good idea of what to expect.

From the looks of it, the X9d takes heavy inspiration from the Honor X70 that launched in China back in July, but with a few notable tweaks, one of which is a 108MP main camera. The company is putting ruggedness front and center. Just like the Honor X70, this phone comes with an IP69K rating, meaning it can survive not just dust and water, but even high-pressure sprays. Honor also highlights a reinforced frame designed to handle drops better than your average glass-slab phone.

Power won’t be an issue either. Inside sits a massive 8,300mAh silicon-carbon battery, one of the largest we’ve seen in a mainstream smartphone. That should mean multi-day endurance, especially appealing for users who are often away from a charger.

On the design side, Honor is sticking with familiar looks but adding a splash of variety. The reddish brown finish from the X70 is returning, joined by a new Sunlight Gold option. Camera upgrades are also on the table: instead of the X70’s 50MP main shooter, the X9d is tipped to ship with a 108MP primary sensor with OIS, a big leap for anyone who cares about detail and low-light photos.

Full specs are being kept under wraps until launch day, but the rugged build, massive battery, and upgraded cameras position the X9d as a strong contender in the durability-focused mid-range segment.
