HP Envy x360 14 Launched in India: Powerful 2-in-1 with OLED Display, AI Features & Up to 14 hrs Battery Life

HP has launched the Envy x360 14 laptop in India, following the global launch which took place around the end of February. The laptop features a full aluminum chassis and a 360-degree hinge, meaning that it can function like a traditional laptop as well as a tablet and everything in between.

The laptop features a 14-inch 2.8K OLED touchscreen with a variable refresh rate of 48 – 120Hz. It has IMAX certification and thin bezels with a screen-to-body ratio of 89.5%.

Under the hood, the laptop comes with a choice between an Intel Core Ultra 7 155U or AMD Ryzen 7 8840HS processor. Both variants include a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) for AI-intensive workloads. The laptop also has a dedicated Microsoft Copilot button, which integrates generative AI capabilities.

For video calls, the laptop comes with a 5MP IR webcam as well as AI-enhanced collaboration tools, including Windows Studio effects and Presence Sensing technology. The IR webcam also provides face ID unlocking for security, and it also has a manual shutter for privacy.

Both versions come with 2x USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports (one supports charging), HDMI 2.1 video output, and an audio jack. The Intel variants have an extra USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port in addition to the Thunderbolt 4 port, while the AMD versions offer two USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports.

Both Intel and AMD models offer options for Wi-Fi 7 + BT 5.4 and Wi-Fi 6E + BT 5.3. The Envy x360 14 promises up to 14.75 hours of battery life with 65W USB-C charging.

Pricing & availability

The HP Envy x360 14 can be purchased at HP World Stores and online, in Meteor Silver and Atmospheric Blue color options. The pricing will vary depending on the configuration, however, the base model will start from Rs. 99,999.

HP‘s updated Envy x360 14-inch laptop is set to hit the shelves with new models featuring the latest Intel and AMD processors.

HP Envy X360 specs:

The Envy x360 laptops offer two AMD-powered models as well as two Intel-powered models. The AMD camp has higher TDP models like the Ryzen 5 8640HS and Ryzen 7 8840HS, offering more cores. On the other hand, Intel’s Core Ultra 5 125U and Core Ultra 7 155U models may not pack as much punch, but they bring the Thunderbolt 4 port – a feature missing in AMD’s lineup.

For graphics, AMD has the Radeon 700M integrated graphics onboard, potentially outshining Intel’s Meteor Lake chips. Both models boast a 14-inch touchscreen display, supporting up to 2880 x 1800 pixels OLED panel for Intel and 1920 x 1200 IPS pixels for AMD, focusing on battery life.

You have the flexibility to choose configurations with up to 32GB of LPDDR5-6400 RAM and 2TB of storage, complemented by a 5MP IR webcam. Connectivity remains largely consistent, offering 2x USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 (one with charging capability), HDMI 2.1 video output, and an audio jack. The Intel variants include one additional USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 alongside the Thunderbolt 4 port, while AMD provides two USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 ports.

Both the Intel and AMD versions provide options for Wi-Fi 7 + BT 5.4 and Wi-Fi 6E + BT 5.3. Equipped with a 59 Wh battery and supporting 65W USB-C charging, the laptops weigh in at 3.1 lbs (1.4 kg) with a slim 0.7-inch (1.7 cm) profile.

Pricing & availability

Prices start at $960 for Intel and a slightly more affordable $950 for AMD. Both models hit the shelves in March 2024.

HP unveils new Envy x360 15 laptops with the world’s first IMAX Enhanced PC certification

HP has just unveiled a couple of new laptops from its Envy x360 15 range. The new laptops feature a 2-in-1 design and were made for creative professionals. These notebooks feature some notable specifications, which include some AI-powered features.

HP Envy x360 15 series are the world’s first IMAX-supported laptops

The new Envy X360 15 sports 15.6-inch OLED displays that support touch input and have a 360-degree hinge. This is where the 2-in-1 form factor comes into play as the notebook can even be used as a tablet. Notably, the screen promises to offer an immersive experience thanks to its IMAX-enhanced support. This is the world’s first laptop to feature the IMAX Enhanced and promises to offer IMAX quality visuals, audio, and premium digital content.

HP has launched the Envy x360 15 in two variants, which feature either an Intel 13th Gen Core processor or an AMD Ryzen 7000 series CPU. The Team Blue version is being offered with an i5-1335U or the i7-1335U, which are paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 5200MHz RAM and 1TB of PCIe Gen 4 NVMe SSD storage. On the other hand, the Team Red variant comes with a Ryzen 5 7530U or Ryzen 7 7730U that is paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR4x 4266MHz RAM and 1TB of PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD storage.

Notably, the former is paired with an Nvidia RTX 3050 graphics card or Intel Iris Xe graphics, while the latter features AMD Radeon graphics. Other notable features include dual speakers setup with audio from Bang & Olufsen, an IR camera for Windows Hello, a privacy shutter on the webcam, Windows 11, and more. Both laptops will be available in two color variants, namely Natural Silver and Nightfall Black.

HP Refreshes Envy Laptop Lineup with Intel Raptor Lake and IMAX Enhanced Certification

HP has just announced the launch of their refreshed Envy series laptops that are set to make waves in the market. These new laptops are powered by the latest Intel Raptor Lake mobile processors and include updates to both the Envy x360 convertibles and the Envy 17 laptop.

HP Envy series laptops specs & features

The Envy x360 comes in two sizes, a 14-inch, and a 15.6-inch model. The 15.6-inch model, in particular, is noteworthy as it is the first laptop in the world to feature an IMAX Enhanced certification. This means that it adheres to strict performance standards, ensuring optimal viewing experiences across different modes, with improved color, brightness, contrast, and DTS sonic fidelity.

What sets the IMAX Enhanced laptop apart is its exclusive Expanded Aspect Ratio of 1:90:1, offering up to 26% more picture for select sequences. This means that more of the action is visible on screen, just as the filmmakers intended. Only Disney+ currently offers a selection of 44 movies and TV shows that take advantage of the IMAX Enhanced standard.

To adhere to the picture fidelity standards imposed by the IMAX Enhanced certification, the 15.6-inch Envy x360 features an OLED panel option with FHD resolution, 500 nit brightness, and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. Additionally, it also has an FHD IPS option with 100% sRGB color gamut and an FHD IPS with 45% NTSC. The 14-inch model only offers an FHD IPS panel with 45% NTSC color, while the 17-inch model offers an FHD IPS option with 100% sRGB, plus a 4K IPS option with 100% DCI-P3 color.

All models come with multitouch screens and 5 MP webcams. The 14-inch and 15.6-inch models can be equipped with Intel’s i5-1335U or i7-1355U processors, while the 17-inch model adds i5-13500H and i7-13700H options, leaving the i7-1355U as its base option. Maximum RAM capacity for the x360 models is 16 GB DDR4-3200, but HP does not specify this for the 17-inch model. All models support up to 1 TB of PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD storage.

The Envy x360 models are also equipped with Thunderbolt 4 connectors, whereas the 14-inch model does not have any. The laptops include SD card readers and have wireless connectivity via a Wi-Fi 6E + BT 5.3 card on all models.

Sound is provided by Bang & Olufsen, with only the 15-inch model featuring DTS:X Ultra. Battery capacity for the 14-inch model is 43 Wh, while the 15-inch and 17-inch models get 55 Wh batteries. The 14-inch model is the lightest at 3.3 lbs (1.5 kg), while the 15-inch and 17-inch models weigh up to 4.13 lbs (1.8 kg) and 5.5 lbs (2.5 kg), respectively.

Price & availability

The 14-inch model starts at US$850 and is available for order from the official HP store. The Envy x360 15.6-inch model is set to launch this month with a starting price of US$950, while the Envy 17 will launch in May for at least US$1,150.
