HP is set to launch the Omnibook 5 laptop in India soon. The Amazon landing page is live, confirming the main features. The laptop is positioned as a Copilot+ AI PC and comes with a focus on performance and long battery life.

The Omnibook 5 is powered by the Snapdragon X1-26-100 processor. It is an 8-core chip that handles up to 45 trillion operations per second and is claimed to be 3.1 times faster than Apple’s M1 chip. The laptop also includes HP AI Companion and CoCreate. These features let users create images from text and work faster on design and writing tasks using AI.

Battery life is one of its key highlights. The Omnibook 5 is rated to last up to 34 hours on a single charge. It also supports fast charging, reaching 50 percent charge in just 30 minutes.

The display is a 14-inch 2K OLED screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, 300 nits brightness, and a 16:10 aspect ratio. It uses a micro-edge design to offer more screen space in a compact form.

For video calls and content, the laptop includes a 1080p HP TrueVision camera with temporal noise reduction. Audio is supported by HP Audio Boost 2.0.

The official launch date has not been confirmed yet, but it is expected to arrive in the Indian market soon. Pricing and availability will be announced at launch.

HP is refreshing a popular budget laptop lineup, leveraging Qualcomm’s PC chipsets for a performance and battery upgrade. The OmniBook 5 series is now arriving in two sizes and two Snapdragon X series processors, so here’s everything you need to know.

HP OmniBook 5 Series Refreshed with Snapdragon X

The known PC maker has just announced the OmniBook 5 14 and OmniBook 5 16 with the Snapdragon X and Snapdragon X Plus. As the name suggests, one variant has a more compact 14-inch display, while the other is a larger 16-inch model. The Snapdragon X series of processors offers performance upgrades over their predecessors, but the biggest highlight is the top tier energy efficiency, allowing for long battery life.

HP claims an impressive battery life of up to 34 hours, with fast charging powering the laptop up to 50 percent in just 30 minutes. The new OmniBook 5 series falls directly below the OmniBook X, so it isn’t as powerful as the higher end model. Although, you do get access to Copilot+’s AI features like Recall, Click-to-Do and much more. On the front, the screens are 2K OLED panels, and there is even support for up to a single external 5K monitor or two 4K monitors.

Furthermore, the new HP OmniBook 5 series packs an FHD IR webcam on the front and supports Audio Boost 2.0 that is powered by AI noise removal. The new 14-inch model will go on sale in June, while the 16-inch variants will debut in July. HP’s OmniBook 5 14 starts from 799 US Dollars, while the OmniBook 5 16 costs 849 US Dollars. This launch also arrives after the HP OmniBook 5 laptop in India with AMD Ryzen AI 300 series processors.

HP has launched the OmniBook 5 laptop series in India, featuring AMD’s Ryzen AI 300 Series processors. The lineup has two variants: the Ryzen AI 5 340 model priced at ₹75,990 and the Ryzen AI 7 350 model at ₹87,990. Both models include a built-in NPU (50 TOPS) for on-device AI tasks, placing them in the Copilot+ PC category.

Specs are identical except for the processors. They come with 16GB LPDDR5x RAM, a 512GB PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD, and AMD Radeon 840M graphics for handling work and content visuals. The 16-inch display has a 2K WQXGA resolution (16:10 aspect ratio) and 300 nits brightness.

The laptops run Windows 11 Home and include a one-year Microsoft 365 subscription plus a lifetime Office 2024 license. Connectivity includes two USB-C ports, two USB-A ports, HDMI 2.1, a headphone/mic jack, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.4. A 1080p FHD IR camera with noise reduction, dual-array mics, and a dedicated Copilot+ key are included for video calls and AI features.

The 43 Wh battery supports HP Fast Charge, reaching 50% in 30 minutes via the 65W USB-C adapter. The laptop weighs 1.799 kg, measures 357.7 x 254.85 x 17.9–18.6 mm, and comes in Natural Silver. HP uses ocean-bound and recycled plastics in the chassis, with EPEAT Gold and ENERGY STAR certifications.

Pre-orders are open on Amazon India with up to ₹4,000 bank discounts and 6-month no-cost EMI. Sales start April 17, 2025, via Amazon, HP’s website, HP World, and retail stores.

In other news, Motorola will launch its first laptop, the Moto Book 60, in India on April 17. It features a 14-inch 2.8K OLED display, Intel Core 7 processor, 60Wh battery with 60W USB-C charging, Dolby Atmos stereo speakers, and weighs 1.4kg. It will be available in Wedge Wood and Bronze Green.
