HP unveiled the EliteBook Ultra and the OmniBook X in the global market back in May. These devices were announced to arrive in India last month, with the pre-bookings also going live in June. Now, the brand’s first Copilot+ notebooks have officially been released in the region.

HP OmniBook X

The OmniBook X sports a 14-inch IPS display that supports touch functionality. This screen has a 2.2K resolution and 300 nits of peak brightness. Under the hood, it is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite processor, which is paired with Qualcomm Adreno graphics. There is also a dedicated 45 TOPS NPU that enables the laptop to offer various generative AI powered functions. All of this is coupled with up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage.

A 59Whr battery pack powers this device, which the brand claims can offer up to 26 hours of battery life. HP’s new OmniBook X runs on the Windows 11 operating system out of the box. This laptop also packs a full size backlit keyboard that features a dedicated Copilot key. For video calls, there is also a 5-megapixel IR web camera. For connectivity, users get WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, 2x USB Type C ports, USB Type A port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The two models also feature the PolyCamera Pro which offers virtual interactions and AI filters like spotlight and auto framing. These are features useful for video calls as well.

HP EliteBook Ultra

Similar to the OmniBook X, the HP EliteBook Ultra also sports a 14-inch touch display that offers 2.2K resolution and 300 nits of peak brightness. This model is also powered by the new Snapdragon X Elite chipset and Qualcomm Adreno Graphics. The 45 TOPS NPU for AI functionality returns. For memory and storage, you can opt for up to 32GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage. The battery pack capacity is identical to the OmniBook X, which is accompanied by a 65W USB Type C charger.

This laptop runs on the Windows 11 OS. The front houses a 5-megapixel IR web camera along with full size backlit keyboard with an HP Image pad and an image sensor based click pad. There is also a dual microphone setup and dual stereo speakers. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.2, 2x USB Type C ports, USB Type A port, WiFi 6E, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Pricing and Availability

The HP OmniBook X is currently on sale via authorized stores while the EliteBook Ultra is listed for purchase at HP World stores and HP online stores. The former has a starting price tag of 139,999 INR (roughly 1,672 US Dollars) for the Meteor Silver color, while the latter was released in an Atmospheric Blue color and starts from 169,934 INR (roughly 2,029 US Dollars).

Expanding its new AI powered PC portfolio, HP has just announced the OmniBook Ultra laptop and the OmniStudio X AIO desktop computer. Both models are equipped with AI enabled chipsets from AMD and Intel that bring access to a bunch of features.

HP OmniBook Ultra AI PC

Not to be confused with the Snapdragon X Elite powered OmniBook X, the OmniBook Ultra is a different laptop that features AMD Ryzen AI 300 series processor. This CPU is paired with a Radeon 800M GPU. The processor is paired with the up to 32GB of DDR5 RAM and up to 2TB of PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage. It sports a 1-inch 2.2K (2240 x 1400) IPS LCD screen that offers touchscreen support and a 16:10 aspect ratio. The OmniBook Ultra is a workstation designed to enhance LLM (large language model) development by detecting and correcting biases in models.

A 68Wh battery pack powers this device, which promises to offer 21 hours of video playback. Connectivity options include two Thunderbolt 4 ports, one USB-A port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. On the front, you get a 9MP webcam for video calls. For audio, there is a quad speaker setup with DTS Ultra. Other notable features include a fingerprint scanner for security, an HP Wolf Security chip (AI assisted protection against cyberattacks), and 1.57 kilograms of weight. The body uses 90 percent recycled material and 5 percent ocean plastic.

HP OmniStudio X AIO

Alongside the new AI laptop, the company also unveiled the OmniStudio X AIO desktop PC with AI functionality. It arrives in two variants, namely 27-inch and 31.5-inch options. The front offers 4K resolution and a 5MP webcam. HP has used 25 percent recycled metals and 35 percent consumer-recycled plastics and has EPEAT Gold with Climate and ENERGY STAR certifications. Interestingly, the OmniStudio X 31.5-inch version is the first ever AIO PC to receive IMAX Enhanced certification.

Under the hood, the OmniStudio X is equipped with the Intel Core Ultra 7 processors, which can be paired with up to an NVIDIA RTX 4050 GPU. This brings a suite of AI features like HP AI Companion that helps in creative editing and productivity. Buyers get access to Z by HP AI Studio thanks to built in generative AI for LLM development. For connectivity, there is a USB-C connection that supports video, audio, data, keyboard, and mouse control.

Pricing and Availability

HP has announced the OmniBook Ultra in a Meteor Silver color option. It is set to go on sale in August from the brand’s official website as well as BestBuy. It has a price tag of 1,449 US Dollars. On the other hand, the HP OmniStudio X AIO is also set to go on sale next month and will be listed for purchase on HP.com. It has a starting price tag of 1,149 US Dollars. Galileo integration for Z by HP AI Studio will arrive in the fall of 2024.

HP has announced two new Snapdragon X Elite-powered Arm-based AI PCs – the OmniBook X and EliteBook Ultra G1q. In this article, we will be discussing the HP OmniBook X, which offers a 14″ screen and weighs only 1.35kg.

HP OmniBook X AI PC specs and features:

This laptop comes in two different colors – Ceramic White and Meteor Silver. It offers you 512GB or 1TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD, which is paired with a 16GB/32GB LPDDR5X 8448MHz memory.

The device is powered by the 12-core Snapdragon X Elite X1E-78-100 chipset, that goes up to 3.4GHz clock speed. Notably, there are two other variants (X1E-80-100, and X1E-84-100) that reaches even higher clock speeds. The chipset is claimed to be more efficient than the latest offerings from Intel and AMD.

Opening up the lid you will be looking at a 14″ 2.2K (2240 x 1400) IPS touchscreen that goes up to 300 nits and is certified for low blue light emission which should be comfortable for the eyes.
