After launching the Omen 16 and Victus 16 laptops last month, HP has now debuted the HP Pavillion Plus 14 and Pavillion Plus 16 laptops in the country. These new laptops come with 13th Gen Intel and AMD Ryzen 7000 series processors.

HP Pavilion Plus 16 (2023) specs

The HP Pavilion Plus 16 (2023) showcases a micro-edge 16-inch display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 and 120Hz Variable Refresh Rate for smooth animations and power saving. It is equipped with an anti-glare coating and boasts 400 nits of brightness and 100% sRGB color accuracy. Moreover, it prioritizes eye comfort with Low Blue Light technology and is IMAX-enhanced for an immersive viewing experience. The laptop’s processor options include the Intel Core i7-13700H or the Intel Core i5-13500H. For graphics, you can choose between Intel Iris Xe Graphics or the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 with 6GB GDDR6 dedicated memory.

In terms of memory, the HP Pavilion Plus 16 offers Dual-channel support with 16GB LPDDR5x RAM. Storage options include either a 512GB or 1TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe TLC M.2 SSD. It also provides a range of I/O ports, including Thunderbolt 4 with USB Type-C, USB Type-A, HDMI 2.1, and more.

For connectivity, it’s equipped with Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX211 and Bluetooth v5.3. The audio experience is enhanced by B&O technology and DTS:X Ultra, complemented by HP Audio Boost. The laptop features a 5MP IR camera with a privacy shutter, noise reduction, and dual microphones for secure video conferencing and Windows Hello login. The 4-cell, 68Whr battery offers long-lasting power, and it supports fast charging. The laptop is powered by a 90W/135W AC power adapter.

The keyboard is full-size and backlit, and the laptop features an HP Imagepad with Precision Touchpad support. It’s certified as NVIDIA Studio and 100% Intel Evo. The laptop measures 14.06 x 9.98 x 0.7 inches, weighs 1.90KG and operates on Windows 11 Home.

Moving on to the HP Pavilion Plus 14 (2023), it boasts a 14-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2880 x 1800 and a 120Hz Variable Refresh Rate. The display has BrightView technology and Low Blue Light, offering 400 nits of brightness and 100% DCI-P3 color accuracy. You have the option of an Intel Core 13th Gen i7-1355U or an AMD Ryzen 7 7840H Processor, and for graphics, you can choose between Intel Iris Xe Graphics or AMD Radeon Graphics.

Memory is set at 16GB LPDDR5x-6400 MHz RAM onboard, paired with 1TB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD storage. Its 4-cell, 68Whr battery supports fast charging. For audio, the laptop features a dual-speaker setup with B&O technology. It also features a 5MP IR camera with noise reduction and dual microphones for video conferencing.

In terms of connectivity, the HP Pavilion Plus 14 features Thunderbolt 4 with USB Type-C, USB Type-A, HDMI 2.1, and other ports. It utilizes Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX211 and Bluetooth v5.3 for seamless connectivity. It’s designed with dimensions of 31.4 x 22.7 cm and is remarkably lightweight at 1.44kg. After recently debuting the Dragonfly G4 thin and light notebook in China, HP has now debuted the Pavilion Plus 14 and 16 laptops globally. These are lightweight mid-range laptops with high-end displays. Take a look at the details below.

HP Pavilion Plus 14 & 16 specs

The HP Pavilion Plus 14 boasts a choice of processors with either the Intel Core i5-12500H or i7-12700H, and it offers two graphics options, including Intel Iris Xe Graphics or the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2050 LT GPU. The laptop features a 14-inch display with a choice of resolutions, either 2.2K (2240 x 1400) IPS or 2.8K (2880 x 1800) OLED. It can be configured with up to 16GB of LPDDR5x-5200 RAM and accommodates storage needs with a maximum capacity of 1TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe TLC M.2 SSD. The laptop has a 3-cell, 51 Wh Li-ion polymer battery and weighs in at 1.44 Kg. It’s available in Space Blue, Pale Rose Gold, and Natural Silver color options.

HP Pavilion Plus 14

On the other hand, the HP Pavilion Plus 16 offers performance options with either the 13th Gen Intel Core i5-13500H or i7-3700H processors, along with graphics choices of Intel Iris Xe Graphics or the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 discrete GPU. Its display is a 16-inch 2.5K WQXGA (2650×1600) panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. Memory options go up to 16GB of LPDDR5x-5200 RAM, and it can also be configured with up to 1TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe TLC M.2 SSD storage. The laptop features a 3-cell, 51 Wh Li-ion polymer battery and has a weight of 1.89 Kg. It comes in Pale Gold and Natural Silver color variants.

Price & availability

The HP 14-inch Pavilion Plus begins at a price of $849.99, providing a base configuration with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Shipping for this laptop is expected to commence in September.

The Pavilion Plus 16 on the other hand has a starting price of $999.99 and is slated for release in October.

HP Pavilion Plus 14, Pavilion x360, HP 14/15 Laptop Hands On & First Impressions

HP had just announced a couple of new thin and light laptop models for the Indian market. The new HP and Pavilion series notebooks arrive to fulfill a variety of different requirements for the modern youth and we had the opportunity to try these out ourselves. So here’s our hands on and first impressions of these laptops.

HP 14 & 15

Starting off the new launches, the company announced the new HP 14 and 15 models. These new notebooks arrive as the latest entry level models. As the name suggests, the two laptops feature a 14 inch and 15 inch displays. But despite their affordable price tag, the two models still feature a thin and light design along with a metallic build quality, which is great for its affordable starting price tag of 39,999 INR.

The HP 14 weighs just 1.4 kilograms, while the 15 weighs around 1.6 kilograms for portability. While it was quite light, the laptop still felt pretty solid with an added premium touch thanks to its metallic build. Although, these models didn’t feel as robust as their more expensive Pavilion series models. I tried out the typing on these laptops and it was surprisingly a good experience. These also felt quite responsive which is likely thanks to their 13th Gen Intel Core processors.

Pavilion x360

The Pavilion x360 series has been a popular entry in the Pavilion series thanks to its 360 degree hinge, which enables it to offer a 2 in 1 laptop form factor. The 2 in 1 basically implies that the Pavilion x360 can function as a regular laptop and even in a tablet mode thanks to its touchscreen display. In our hands on with this model, the user experience was pretty smooth. The laptop was snappy and its 360 hinge meant that we also got to test out the touchscreen.

Having used 2 in 1 laptops in the past, I know that such models are quite versatile and the Pavilion x360 offers a great experience in both its tablet and laptop mode. Again, the typing experience was top notch on this model as well and its metallic build quality also offered a good premium experience overall. Notably, this model still weighs just 1.41 kilograms, which is quite light. The Pavilion x360 has a starting price tag of 57,999 INR.

Pavilion Plus 14

Finally arriving at the most expensive model that was announced today, the HP Pavilion Plus 14 was announced with some notable specs and features. The new model features a great metal build quality that offers a true premium feel and design. One of the biggest features of this model is the inclusion of the OLED display that offers great colors and image quality. This 14 inch OLED panel also offers 2.8K resolution and up to 90Hz refresh rate.

Simply put, the higher refresh rate and better display panel basically offered an impressive viewing experience. Apart from this, the only other aspect I really got to play around with was the keyboard and it was a decent experience overall. One thing that was odd is that this laptop was the only model that runs on the older 12th Gen Intel Core processors while the rest on the 13th Gen processors. This model is the most expensive out of the four new models, and starts from 81,999 INR.
