The big difference between HTC U11 Eyes and U11 Plus is obviously in the hardware department. The first has a Snapdragon 652 SoC, while the second has a Snapdragon 835 which is a much more powerful chipset, as we are talking about a midrange SoC vs the best flagship SoC currently in the market. HTC U11 Plus has also more RAM in its most expensive variant (6 GB). So the Plus version is much faster and smoother in every scenario. The rest of the specs and potentialities are not so different, even though the U11 Plus looks slightly better in each of them. The display has a higher resolution, the main camera is slightly better, and there is also a better certification for water-resistance in the Plus model. But there’s an element in the EYEs which is not present in the U11+ — the dual front camera with face recognition.

READ MORE: Snapdragon 652 Revisited: Does It Make Sense To Use A Two Year Old Chipset In A $500 HTC Device in 2018?

The real advantage of HTC U11 Eyes is the price, as it has been launched in China at about $512, while its opponent has a listing price of €800 (almost $1,000). But note that it is possible to find the standard HTC U11 model with Snapdragon 835 (the one with bezels) at less than €600. It means that at this moment U11 Eyes is still not a great option to buy.

Fresh information coming from industry sources reveal that HTC will be launching fewer smartphones in 2018.

The Taiwanese company is known for making amazing smartphones, but many of its good phones have failed to achieve popularity because of its poor marketing practices. In 2018, the company will be focusing more on R&D and marketing strategies.

HTC has recently released the U11+ flagship phone. In order to increase its prowess in the mid-range segment, the company is likely to release a toned-down version of the U11+. This smartphone is expected to debut in January. The Taiwanese firm may use the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018 platform to unleash it.

It could be the rumored Ocean Harmony phone that has recently received 3C certification in China. It is expected to arrive in two chipset models. The Snapdragon 652 model may include 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of native storage whereas the Snapdragon 660 variant is rumored to house 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. It is speculated to arrive with 5.99-inch Super-LCD 5 display that will support 18:9 aspect ratio.

As far as its flagship phone is concerned, the alleged HTC U12 is rumored to feature a 4K display, Snapdragon 845 chipset and dual rear cameras. It is unclear when the company will be debuting the U12 phone. However, it is speculated that the company may launch it February or early March.

Rumors have claimed that the Ocean Master and Ocean Life have respectively debuted as HTC U11+ and U11 Life. Fresh information suggests that the Ocean Harmony smartphone may get announced in December. Its leaked specs have now surfaced.

Fresh information suggests that the HTC Ocean Harmony would be featuring a Super-LCD 5 screen of 5.99 inches. It is expected to carry support for Full HD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels. This screen resolution indicates that the upcoming HTC phone will deliver an aspect ratio of 18:9.

The Snapdragon 652 chipset is expected to be present under the hood of the Ocean Harmony. Previous leaks have revealed that the SoC will be coupled with 4 GB of RAM and the phone may include a native storage of 64 GB. The phablet is expected to include a massive battery of 3,930mAh capacity.

Like the recent HTC U series phones, the Ocean Harmony is also speculated to arrive with squeezable frame for Edge Sense feature. These specifications and features of the mysterious HTC phone suggest that it could be a toned down version of the U11+. This smartphone is slated to get unveiled in December this year.

The Ocean Harmony could be 6th HTC U series smartphone of 2017. Apart from these phones, the Taiwanese company has launched HTC One X10 and Desire 10 Compact phones this year. Fresh reports suggest the company would be launching around 6 smartphones in 2018. Also, it has confirmed that it will be launching dual camera smartphones in the coming year.

The rear panel of the phone featured a dual camera setup that included a main UltraPixel camera of 4-megapixel along with a secondary depth sensor. It was the world’s first smartphone ever to feature a dual camera that could shoot depth information. The following flagship phones from the Taiwanese company have featured single cameras. After the launch of HTC U11+ phone in Taipei, Chialin Chang who is President of the company has confirmed that it will re-enter the dual camera smartphone market in the next year.

“We’ll definitely be releasing a dual-camera phone next year, but we’ll need to figure out how to make this feature stand out,” said Chang. The Taiwanese company has recently focused more on improving the camera experience on its new flagships. Hence, the HTC U11 that was launched in May this year managed to record an impressive score of 90 on mobile camera benchmarking platform, DxOMark. The newly unveiled HTC U11+ features an improved version of the same of U11 Plus camera.

Flagship phones from Huawei and Essential feature monochrome sensor as secondary camera lens. Samsung and Apple are using wide telephoto along with the primary camera. LG is making use of a wide-angle lens to assist the main sensor. There is no information on the dual camera configuration that the Taiwanese company will adopt on its 2018 flagship phone. If company decides to use the same dual camera system that was made available on HTC One M8, the 2018 flagship phone from the company may feature secondary telephoto lens.

Chang has also confirmed that HTC will be releasing around five to six smartphones in 2018 like it did this year. Instead of just releasing high-end phones, the company also plans to take on the 2,000 Yuan smartphone market in China in 2018. He added the acquisition of HTC’s Pixel team by Google is in process and the deal may close in early 2018.

Fresh information suggests that HTC was supposed to make the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones. However, since the latter was cancelled by Google, the Taiwanese company redesigned its iteration of Pixel 2 XL to launch it as U11+. When Chang was asked whether the HTC U11+ is the cancelled Pixel 2 XL he replied by saying that he does not know how to answer the question. He said that because of the relationship between HTC and Google, he can’t comment on Google’s products.

Read More: HTC U11 Life Android One and Sense Versions are Official with Budget Pricing

He commented on the HTC U11+ by saying that, “we actually started planning it as such around end of last year, like the way we sourced its key components and whether they made sense, it was planned that way at the time. We are also very happy that our U11+ used these parts.”

After the HTC One Max from 2013, the U11+ is the first phone from the company to feature rear-facing fingerprint reader. This is another indication that the phone U11+ may have been original planned to debut as Pixel 2 XL. According to Chang, the positioning of the fingerprint reader on the rear panel seems more sensible on the U11+ as it features an elongated 18:9 display. He added that if HTC had really built the two similarly specced phones, it could have used the same rear positioning of the fingerprint scanner on both devices.

The rumor mill had also revealed their respective codenames as Walleye and Muskie. However, Google had reportedly cancelled the HTC Muskie phone to launch LG’s Taimen phone as Google Pixel 2 XL. Fresh information suggests that the newly unveiled HTC U11+ flagship phone could be the cancelled Pixel 2 XL Muskie phone.

According to The Verge, its sources have revealed that once Google rejected the Muskie phone, HTC decided to launch it as U11+ after some modifications. The recent high-end U-series smartphones feature reflective rear panels and the same has been included in the U11+ phone. It also features the stellar rear camera that is available on the HTC U11.

HTC’s Muskie was recent spotted in Android AOSP with a huge 3,830mAh capacity battery and 560DPI for its display. The specifications of the HTC U11+ such as the 3,930mAh battery and the 6-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio is somewhat similar to the leaked information of Muskie phone.

After the HTC One Max smartphone was launched in 2013, the U11+ is the first phone from the company to house a rear-mounted fingerprint reader. The publication claims that the core design and engineering of U11+ was actually meant for the Pixel 2 XL phone. Hence, it appears that the smartphone was originally intended to launch as Pixel 2 XL.

The new flagship from HTC features Android 8.0 Oreo that is overlaid with the latest Sense UI. The Pixel Visual Core chip that is specially designed by Google for Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL is not available on the U11+.

The LG-made Pixel 2 XL has a 6-inch QHD+ screen that produces 18:9 aspect ratio. However, instead of the LCD panel found on the U11+, the LG phone uses a OLED panel. However, recent reports have revealed the Pixel 2 XL’s OLED panel is of mediocre quality as it suffers from various issues like blue tint, black smear, and screen burn-in. HTC U11+ may not have very slim bezels, but it certainly appears like a sold flagship that will appreciation from the critics and users.

This design style is expected to continue to dominate the smartphone terrain next year but who knows? The design pattern could as well fizzle out when something more interesting emerges. For now, we’ll continue to revel in full-screen models. The latest models announced today which keeps up with the full-screen design trend include the HTC U11 Plus and OPPO R11s. We have now spotted some sleek photos of the U11 Plus online that are worth sharing.

As you must have known, the U11 Plus features a full-screen design with the squeezable frame feature that was first introduced on the U11. The device, however, comes with a different form factor from the U11. For one, the large bezels at the top and bottom edges of the U11 is completely missing, giving it a more appealing look. The bezels are not as thin as those of Samsung Galaxy S8 as the screen to body ratio is just 78%. There isn’t a physical button at the front instead, it uses virtual buttons as well as the squeeze control.

The device comes with an 18:9 aspect ratio with a resolution of 2880 x 1440 pixels. It adopts a 6-inch Super LCD-6 display with support forHDR10 and with a DCI-P3 colour gamut. The U11+ is taller than the U11, its measurement is given as 158.5 x 74.9 x 8.5mm and it weighs 188 grams. The U11 Plus comes with IP68 certification which is more reliable than the IP67 certification the U11 presents with.

The device also looks good at the rear, adorning a glossy and reflective design. There is also wireless charging available at the rear panel. The device sports a single camera and a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. Beyond that, you’re looking at an almost unchanged spec sheet on the inside; a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor as well as the exact same rear camera system as on the U11. The device is available in 4GB + 64GB storage version and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage version. It is available in colour choices like Ceramic Black, Amazing Silver and Translucent Black which sports a semi-transparent rear. See more cool photos down below.

A Swiss publication called Blick Digital has outed a hands-on video of both the smartphones. Since the hands-on video could not be embedded, we have included some snapshots from the video.

The HTC U11+ is rumored to arrive with a 6-inch display that will carry support for 2,880 x 1,440 pixels. The screen will be delivering an aspect ratio of 18:9. The side bezels of the phone appear thin, but it does not seem to offer a high screen-to-body ratio like the Samsung Galaxy S8 or LG V30.

The back panel of the HTC U11+ has a fingerprint scanner that is placed below the rear camera. The rear panel is a bit transparent as the innards of the phone are visible. This could be the translucent color variant of the HTC U11+ that the Taiwanese company had teased yesterday. The U11+ is expected to arrive in other color options like black and silver.

[envira-gallery id=”156189″]

Since the U11+ is a larger version of the HTC U11 flagship phone that was launched in May this year, it will be arriving with a squeezable frame for using the Edge Sense for carrying out different tasks. HTC’s newest teaser for U11+ carries the text “even more squeezed in” which indicates the squeezable frame may be equipped with some sort of improvements. The hands-on video released by the Swiss publication shows that the Taiwanese company has improved the feature by adding more customization options.

The HTC U11+ can be seen running on Android 8.0 Oreo with Sense UI. It will carry support for wireless charging and it will include a large battery of 4,000mAh capacity. It will be priced around 730 euros (`$850). The smartphones has recently received TENAA certification in China through which its entire specifications have been revealed.

As far as the mid-range HTC U11 Life is concerned, it can be seen running on Android One version in the hands-on video. The HTC U11 Life Android One variant is expected to arrive in markets outside of U.S.

The U11 Life has a simplistic design. The fingerprint scanner is embedded below its display. The rear panel of the phone features a single camera sensor. The entire specifications of the phone had surfaced on T-Mobile’s site yesterday.
The company has already sent out press invites for an event on November 2 in Taipei where it is expected to launch HTC U11 Plus. While the invite had a big ‘U’ suggesting U Plus, the teaser image posted by HTC on Twitter shows the back side of the smartphone.

While it does not show the full backside, the image gives hints about the device’s design. The image shows a smartphone with a single camera setup and just below the camera module, there is a fingerprint sensor.

The HTC U11 Life is said to have a fingerprint sensor on the front while the U11 Plus will have fingerprint sensor at the back as it features a full-screen display. Going by this, we can positively say that the company is hinting at the launch of U11 Plus on November 2.

From the teaser image, it seems that the device will also have support for wireless charging. The smartphone in question has already been subjected to multiple leaks. So we already know what the HTC U11 Plus will bring to the table.

Recently, the HTC U11 Plus appeared on TENAA, showing off phone’s design. It revealed that the smartphone has very small bezels on the sides and thin bezels at the top and bottom.

The HTC U11 Plus will sport a 6-inch QHD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9. It will pack a 12-megapixel main camera with f/1.7 aperture and dual flash. The 4GB RAM model will have 64GB of onboard storage and the 6GB RAM variant will come with 128GB of internal storage.

Both the models will be powered by Snapdragon 835 chipset and will have a microSD card slot for expanding storage. It will be fueled by 3,930mAh non-removable battery that will also support Quick Charge 3.0.

It is said that the smartphone will come with IP68 certification, and will run Android 8.0 Oreo operating system out-of-the-box. It will also have Boom Sound audio as well as the Edge Sense.

It is just a matter of few days before we have confirmation about all this, as well as the smartphone’s availability and pricing details.

New info from Evan Blass (@Evleaks) has revealed that only the Android One HTC U11 Life will be unveiled. So if you have been looking forward to the full-screen U11 Plus, you may have to wait a little longer.

https://twitter.com/evleaks/status/921835321167368192

The HTC U11 Life is a mid-ranger phone under the Android One program. This year, Google’s Android One phones have shifted from entry level devices to the mid-range category. The entry-level category, we presume will be covered by the Android Go program, a specially designed version of Android for devices with 1GB RAM or less.

The HTC U11 Life will be the first Android One phone to run Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. It will have a 5.2” FHD screen, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. Chip of choice is the Snapdragon 630 which will draw power from a 2,600mAh battery.

For optics, there is a 16MP camera on both sides with support for 4K video recording, HDR, and RAW formats. The U11 Life will have an IP67 rating, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, and Edge Sense but will ditch the 3.5mm audio jack.

The HTC 2Q4D200 has a 5.5-inch 1440 x 2560 display. It is powered by an octa-core processor clocked at 1.9GHz for the 4GB RAM model and 2.36GHz for the 6GB RAM variant. Storage is listed as 64GB and 128GB.

The phone has a 12MP rear camera and an 8MP camera. Images provided show that there is a fingerprint scanner below the rear camera.

The HTC 2Q4D200 runs Android 8.0 Oreo and has a 3,830mAh battery. It measures 153.99 x 75.99 x 9.2 mm and weighs 170g. The length and width are exactly the same as that of the HTC U11. The extra thickness can be attributed to the larger battery capacity. TENAA also says the phone will come in black, blue, and white.

This is not the first time we have seen the HTC 2Q4D200. Three weeks ago it was seen on the China Compulsory Certification website were it was revealed that it will have fast charging.

However, while the images provided on TENAA are similar to those of the U11 Plus that have surfaced online earlier, the specs are a bit confusing. We want to believe there is an error on TENAA’s part and that it will be corrected soon.

Fresh information shared by reliable tipster Roland Quandt reveals that HTC will soon announce the HTC U11 Life as its first Android One phone. He claims that the smartphone will be unveiled alongside the HTC U11 Plus flagship phone on Nov. 2.

Citing unnamed source, Quandt has revealed the entire specifications of the HTC U11 Life. He claims that it will be featuring a 5.2-inch Full HD resolution supporting display. The screen will be shielded by Corning Gorilla Glass. The bottom bezel of the phone will have a fingerprint sensor embedded Home button that will be placed between the two capacitive buttons.

Like the Android One Moto X4, the HTC U11 Life will be fueled by the Snapdragon 630 chipset. The SoC will be accompanied by 3 GB of RAM. It will be coming with an inbuilt storage of 32 GB and is also expected to feature a microSD card slot. It will include a 2,600mAh battery that will be able to last an entire day thanks to the power-efficient 14nm Snapdragon 630 chipset.

The 16-megapixel rear camera of the U11 Life will carry HDR support and it will also have the ability to record in RAW format. It will be featuring a selfie camera of 16-megapixel. The front and rear cameras will both carry support for 4K video shooting. It is expected to feature powerful microphones like the HTC U11 as it is pegged to carry support for high-resolution audio recording.

The Mi A1 and Moto X4 Android One phones are loaded with Android Nougat OS and they are yet to receive Android Oreo update. However, the tipster predicts that the upcoming HTC U11 Life will be the first Android One phone to arrive with Android 8.0 Oreo preinstalled.

Quandt adds that the HTC U11 Life Android One phone will be lacking a 3.5mm audio jack. The device will be shipping with a USonic headphones that can be connected to the USB-C port of the phone. Other features of the smartphone include NFC and Bluetooth 5.0. Like the HTC U11 and the upcoming U11 Plus, the U11 Life phone is also expected to feature squeezable frame for Edge Sense.

HTC itself didn’t confirm the event, as the image of the invite was posted on Weibo by a third party. Not until today did HTC announce via Twitter that it has an event for November 2.

The HTC U11 Plus is a 6” phone with thinner bezels and a 2:1 aspect ratio. It will come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835, 4GB/6GB of RAM and 64GB/128GB of storage.

The specifications of the smartphone have already appeared on benchmarking platforms. However, the exact size of the battery that will be powering was not revealed through benchmark listings. HTC ROM developer LlabTooFeR who is known for revealing accurate information on forthcoming HTC devices has revealed the battery capacity of the upcoming HTC U11 Plus.

According to LlabTooFeR, the physical size of the rumored HTC U11 Plus would be similar to that of HTC U11 that was launched in May this year. However, he maintains that there will some difference in the XYZ dimensions.

The HTC U11 measures 153.9 x 75.9 x 7.9mm and it includes a 5.5-inch display. It houses a 3,000mAh battery. According to CAD renders revealed by OnLeaks, the alleged U11 Plus measures 158.2 x 74.9 x 9.1mm. Even though the dimensions of the unreleased U11 Plus cannot be trusted, it suggests that the U11 Plus phone will be slightly taller device than the U11 even though it is expected to arrive with a 6-inch display. However, the U11 Plus seems to be a bit thicker. It could be probably because of the rumored large-sized battery of 4,000mAh capacity.

The rumor mill has already leaked the specifications of the HTC U11 Plus. Moreover, the handset has also appeared on GFXBench and Geekbench benchmarking sites. The 6-inch display of HTC U11 Plus is speculated to support 2:1 aspect ratio and a QHD+ resolution. It is expected to arrive in two variant such as 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage and 6 GB of RAM + 128 GB storage. These variants will be powered by Snapdragon 835. For photography, it may feature 12-megapixel rear snapper and 8-megapixel selfie camera.

The U11 has been seen on Geekbench and GFXBench and just a few hours ago, CAD based renders courtesy of Onleaks and Couponraja were posted online.

The HTC U11 Plus is supposed to have one key feature we have seen quite a number of manufacturers adopt this year and that is a full-screen display with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The other specs will largely be the same as that of the U11. At least we are sure of the Snapdragon 835 processor.

The renders show that HTC will be going for the same highly reflective Liquid Surface glass back design. It has a single rear camera sensor confirming that HTC is still not joining the dual camera bandwagon this year.

There is a LED flash beside the camera and a circular fingerprint scanner below the sensor. The phone has two white antenna lines at the bottom where the USB-C port is, two on the left side, and one each at the top and on the right.

The HTC U11 Plus lacks a 3.5mm audio jack like the U11 but appears to have stereo speakers (earpiece and bottom speaker beside the USB port).

According to GFXBench, the U11 Plus will have a 6” QHD+ display (with an 18:9 aspect ratio). This should mean smaller bezels. The bezels are still there as they are not super small but compared to the U11, there has been a reduction.

On the right of the top bezel sits the 8MP sensor listed by GFXBench. There are two small circles beside it, along with the earpiece/speaker in the middle, and another sensor on the left.

The front glass appears to be 3D but we will confirm when it launches. The power button and volume rocker are on the right and the left is bare. The device is said to have a rough dimension of 158.2 x 74.6 x 9.1 mm.

The rest of the specs revealed by GFXBench include 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and NFC. Other features not mentioned that should come with the phone are BoomSound and Edge Sense.

Speculations are rife that the rumored HTC U11 Plus flagship phone will be unveiled at the upcoming unveil event. It seems that the Taiwanese company is testing the alleged U11 Plus handset before its launch as a mysterious HTC phone labelled as HTC 2Q4D1 has appeared on Geekbench and GFXBench with flagship specs.

Alleged HTC U11 Plus on GFXBench

The HTC 2Q4D1 could be the HTC U11 Plus as it is driven by the Snapdragon 835 chipset. The GFXBench listing also reveals that the smartphone features a 6-inch display that supports QHD+ resolution of 2,880 x 1,440 pixels. It has 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of RAM. It has a rear camera of 12-megapixel and a front-facing snapper of 8-megapixel. It is loaded with Android 8.0.0.

Geekbench listing of HTC 2Q4D1 also shows that it is driven by Snapdragon 835 chipset along with 4 GB of RAM. The handset is preloaded with Android 8.0.0 Oreo. On Geekbench, the HTC 2Q4D1 has scored 1,920 points on single-core test and 5,765 on multi-core test.

The HTC U11 flagship phone that was launched in May this year also features Snapdragon 835. The Taiwanese company is selling the HTC U11 with 6 GB of RAM in specific regions like the U.S. In other markets, the U11 is available with 4 GB of RAM. Hence, the HTC U11 Plus is pegged to arrive in 4 GB and 6 GB RAM models.

The company has sent out media invites for an event that is taking place on November 2, in Taipei. Although HTC has not shared any details about the event, the invite has a big “U”, hinting that it will announce a new U-series smartphone.

There were rumours in the past that the Taiwanese company is working on the alleged HTC U11 Plus smartphone. This is leading us to believe that the phone in question is the HTC U11 Plus.

The phone is expected to feature a bezel-less Quad HD+ display with 18:9 ratio. Further, the device is rumoured to come with a 5.99-inch display with a screen resolution of 2880 x 1440 pixels. Under the hood, the smartphone is expected to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 processor, coupled with either 4GB or 6GB of RAM.

It is speculated to pack 64GB and 128GB of internal storage options. The phone is said to feature a 12-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. The device is also expected to come with IP68 certification.

It is not yet known if the phone will come pre-loaded with the latest Android 8.0 Oreo operating system. The HTC U11 Plus is expected to be available in two colour options — Brilliant Black and Amazing Silver.

HTC is also expected to launch a few other smartphones by the end of this year, including Ocean Lite, Ocean Harmony, HTC U11 Life and its Android One device, which is expected to be the U11 Life.

The phone is expected to launch as the HTC U11 Plus. On the China Compulsory Certification website, a new HTC phone with model number 2Q4D200 has been certified and it is believed to be the U11 Plus.

The HTC 2Q4D200 is said to be the Chinese variant of the HTC 2Q3FXXX seen on the Bluetooth SIG website. The last three digits are reserved for the different markets the phone will be available in.

The 3C certificate doesn’t reveal the specs but informs us that it supports fast charge (5V,2.5A; 9V/1.7A; and 12V/1.25A) and the SIG certification confirms it will have Bluetooth 5.0.

The HTC U11 Plus is really just a redesigned HTC U11 with thinner bezels and a rumored 5.99” 1440 x 2880p screen with a 2:1 aspect ratio. The processor of choice is still the Snapdragon 835 mobile platform. The main camera is expected to be the same 12MP sensor but it will be nice to see HTC give us dual cameras as a plus.

However, HTC has not sold its smartphone brand to Google and it will continue to manufacture more phones.

The rumor mill has revealed that HTC will be releasing couple of smartphones before the end of the year. One of them is speculated as a flagship phone that is likely to debut as HTC U11 Plus. A recent report had revealed that the HTC U11 Plus would be unveiled on Nov. 11. Fresh information coming from industry insiders claim that the HTC U11 Plus would be arriving as an upgraded version of the HTC U11 flagship that was launched in May this year..

The new report also corroborates on the fact that the HTC U11 Plus flagship would be coming with 5.99-inch Quad HD display and it will be fueled by Snapdragon 835. It is speculated to feature a 12-megapixel rear snapper, 8-megapixel, 64 GB and 128 GB storage models. There is no confirmation on whether it will be coming with Android 8.0 Oreo preinstalled.

Previous reports have revealed that the HTC U11 Plus is codenamed as Ocean Master. Since it is an enhanced version of HTC U11, it is rumored to feature a squeezable frame. The Taiwanese company is also expected to launch other smartphones such as Ocean Lite, Ocean Harmony, HTC U11 Life and its Android One are also speculated to launch before the end of 2017.

Recent reports suggest that the Ocean Master is the codename of HTC U11 Plus flagship smartphone. Some of the key specs of the smartphone have already surfaced. Waqar Khan who is known for designing concept renders of popular smartphones has created concept model of the HTC U11 Plus.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QNzCyBSafGU&feature=youtu.be

The realistic looking HTC U11 Plus concept renders reveal its marvelous full screen design. As it can be seen in the concept renders, the U11 Plus has a large-sized screen that is flanked with very slim bezels on its four sides. The rear side of the smartphone features a camera and fingerprint reader. The backside of the phone features a glass panel that appears to be curved at all the four edges.

Previous reports have revealed that the HTC U11 Plus will be fitted with a 5.99-inch display. It is expected to support an aspect ratio of 18:9 and QHD+ resolution of 2,880 x 1,440 pixels. The Snapdragon 835 chipset is expected to power the smartphone.

The company has also said that it is working on its next flagship phone called HTC U11 Plus that will be arriving with a full screen design. A French publication has revealed some juicy details on the upcoming HTC flagship.

Recent rumors have revealed that the HTC U11 Plus is codenamed as Ocean Master. Like the premium flagship phones, the U11 Plus is speculated to come with a full screen design flanked with minimal bezels.

According to the French publication, the U11 Plus will be housing a 5.99-inch panel manufactured by Japan Display. It will be supporting an aspect ratio of 18:9. The Snapdragon 835 chipset will be present under the hood of the smartphone.

It will be coming in two variants. The first model will feature 4 GB of RAM with 64 GB of UFS 2.1 storage and the second one will be coming with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of UFS 2.1 storage.

A 12-megapixel camera is present on the rear side of the smartphone. It will be featuring the same rear camera that is present on the HTC U11. The frontside will be fitted with an 8-megapixel selfie snapper. The exact size of its battery is not available, but what is known is that it will be carrying support for Quick Charge 3.0 (9V/2A).

Like the HTC U11, the upcoming flagship will be coming with squeezable frame for supporting the Edge Sense feature. The handset is also expected to arrive with IP68 certified water and dust resistant chassis. We speculate that like the HTC U11 and HTC U Ultra smartphones, the U11 Plus will be also arriving with a premium design.

The French publication has also revealed that the HTC U11 Plus would be launching in China on November 11 as the Taiwanese company is reportedly working on regaining its market share in the country. As of this writing, there is no information available on its launch date for other markets. The publication also hints that the HTC U11 Plus may arrive with an attractive pricing.

A recent report has revealed that HTC may unveil two other smartphones that are codenamed as Ocean Lite and Ocean Harmony before the end of 2017.

It turns out that it was more of a purchase of talent, similar to what happens between football clubs, with Google paying over a $1 billion for the HTC engineering team that worked on the Pixels. Reports says that is about $500,000 for each member of the team in addition to a separate non-exclusive license for HTC intellectual property.

With 2000 top engineers gone, some may be wondering if the deal made sense for HTC. The company says it still has an excellent R&D team which worked on its flagship, the HTC U11 and is preparing its next flagship phone.

Speaking at an interview, president of global sales for HTC, Zhang Jia Lin revealed that the company was working on a new flagship phone with a full-screen display which should launch not later than a month from now. Sources say it will be called the HTC U11 Plus.

The phone will have an 18:9 aspect ratio, a fingerprint scanner and be powered by the Snapdragon 835. It may also support facial recognition.

The interviewer also asked about the sales of the HTC U11. Mr. Lin declined disclosing figures but said it is selling better than last year’s model.

What do you think about HTC making a full-screen smartphone? What features do you think they should add to beat the competition?
