After teasing the device, Huawei has now launched its latest smart band in the Indian market — Huawei Band 6. The product is quite similar to the Honor Band 6 but comes with support for more workout modes.

It comes with a 1.47-inch AMOLED 2.5D touch screen display and offers 283PPI pixel density. As for the customization of dials, the device supports more than 100 watch faces.

The fitness tracker features Huawei TruSense 4.0 heart rate monitoring, Huawei TruSleep 2.0 for sleep tracking, and Huawei TruRelax for stress tracking. Along with that, the product also supports menstrual cycle tracking. It packs a 6-axis IMU sensor (Accelerometer sensor, Gyroscope sensor) and an Optical heart rate sensor.

It has support for 96 workout modes, including 11 professional workout modes such as indoor and outdoor running, cycling, and rope skipping, and 85 more customized modes, including fitness, ball games, and dancing types.

Huawei Band 6 Review: Design

In the past few years, we have stopped expecting fancy designs on a smart band product. A simple display with smart features was often enough.

But take a look at the HUAWEI Band 6. It’s interesting that Huawei has revamped the design of the Band 6. Its 1.47-inch AMOLED rectangular display makes it stand out from the competition. This display can almost catch up to the display on the Huawei Watch Fit.  

Compared to another hot smart band, the Mi Band 6, this display form factor is better to show content with reasonable interface layouts. And more importantly, the thinner dial (10.99mm) allows the band to fit to my wrist skin better, which greatly reduces the discomfort I feel when wearing bands for a long time and even sleeping with it. 

The skin-friendly silicone strap is removable. Huawei officially offers the changeable straps in 4 colors (Black, Orange, Green, and Pink). 

Huawei Band 6 Review: Fitness & Health features

It’s obvious that HUAWEI has made great efforts to improve its health-centric products this year. As HUAWEI’s entry-level fitness tracker, the HUAWEI Band 6 is able to track all the basic health data that you can have on a basic wrist wearable, including step count, all-day heart rate, all-day SpO², caloric burn, all-day stress, sleep, and so on. It also supports 96 workout modes, which is quite rare in this price range, although out of the 96, only 85 modes support basic tracking. With the support of Huawei’s professional sports algorithms, the other 11 modes are much detailed and professional in fitness tracking. Under the 11 modes, in addition to basic activity tracking, users can check their maximum oxygen uptake, recovery time, and training stress. 

For example, when tracking a run the band will give you accurate route, pace frequency and length, training stress, recovery time, and more. And all these data will immediately be sync to the connected smartphone, which is even more detailed, and the app can accordingly generate a short video of the dynamic route on the map.  

Besides all-day heart rate tracking, the Huawei Band 6 supports all-day blood oxygen monitoring too, which is not available even on the Mi Band 6. And the all-day blood oxygen monitoring can work well with its professional sleep monitoring, and give users more accurate records and advice for improving sleep quality. In our experience, Huawei’s TruSleep technology was more accurate and detailed in sleep tracking, and the results seem to be better than the Mi Band’s. Actually, it’s rare that a budget tracker can track blood oxygen all day. 

Huawei Band 6 Review: Software

About the band’s software support, the Huawei Health app is one of the most detailed and functional fitness tracking APPs that we’ve seen on the Android platform. But the app in iOS is not as well-optimized as on Android. For example, camera remote control is not available on iOS, and neither is the music control feature. But if you are using an Android phone, especially a Huawei phone, the software support is quite satisfying. Or you can also connect Huawei Health to Google Fit and check all the health data in the Google app. But it seems that the HUAWEI Band 6 doesn’t support the connection with other health Apps. 

Most notably, the software of the band itself is quite simple, which means it doesn’t support the installation of third-party apps. But on the other hand, the lightweight software also leads to a smooth touch response. During oue 10-day use, the band rarely lagged or confused me with its software.

The Band supports 5ATM waterproof rating, which means that it can be used for shallow-water activities such as normal swimming. But it is not suitable for underwater activities like diving. 

Huawei Band 6 Review: Battery Life

As for its battery life, considering that we turned on almost all tracking features, I have no complaints about it since I charged it once around 10 days ago. And it still has 13% of power left. As estimated, it’s quite safe to wear it for around 10 days in a heavy use routine without charging it. 

Considering the HUAWEI Band 6 is a well-functional, inexpensive fitness tracker, by far it is at the top of our recommended list. If you are simply looking for a reliable budget health tracker with good software experience, the Huawei Band 6 is really a safe option for you in 2021.

Huawei is readying to launch its new smart band in India soon. The company’s Band 6 is arriving in the country soon and now, the official pricing of the smart band has been revealed on Amazon prior to its official launch.

At the moment, the Chinese tech giant is expected to soon start taking pre orders for its new wearable in India. As per the brand’s official Twitter handle, the pre orders for the band 6 went live on 6th July 2021. The pre orders would even offer customers a Free gift as well, although, it has yet to go live as of right now. So there might be a slight delay in the company’s plans.

On the other hand, Huawei also confirmed some details through an Amazon listing spotted on the e retailer platform. The Band 6 is expected to go on sale through Amazon India soon and will be available in India for a price of 4,490 INR (roughly 60 US Dollars) in India. The band will be available in four color variants, namely Graphite Black, Sakura Pink, Amber Sunrise and Forest Green. It is expected that the device will launch around mid July 2021.

The Huawei Band 6 is a fitness tracker that was announced earlier this year. The smartwatch made its debut in Malaysia in early April and is now set to arrive in India soon according to the latest report.

Last week, HUAWEI Band 6 made its global debut in Malaysia. A day later, the Chinese variant of the company’s latest fitness tracker leaked extensively. Now, yesterday, the wearable went official in the firm’s home county alongside the HUAWEI Smart Screen V series 2021.

The HUAWEI Band 6 (FRA-B19) is exactly the same as the HONOR Band 6 (ARG-B19) but a little bit costlier. The wearable flaunts a 1.47-inch rectangular AMOLED display with a resolution of 194 x 368 pixels, 282 ppi, 64% screen-to-body ratio, and 2.5D glass.

The fitness tracker features a 6-axis IMU sensor (accelerometer, gyroscope), an optical heart rate sensor, and an SpO2 sensor. Thanks to these sensors and software, the wearable supports 96 sports modes, blood oxygen level monitoring, menstrual cycle tracking, HUAWEI TruSeen 4.0 24-hour heart-rate monitoring, HUAWEI TruSleep 2.0 sleep monitoring, and HUAWEI TruRelax 2.0 stress monitoring.

It also has other basic functions like music playback controls, weather, alarm, app notifications, call alerts, and camera shutter control to name a few. Further, there is also an NFC variant with support for transit passes and mobile payments.

Unlike the Chinese variant, the global variant of the HUAWEI Band 6 comes in just three colors- Graphite Black, Amber Sunrise, and Forest Green. It is priced at RM219($52.90) in Malaysia.

As for Availability, the fitness tracker will be available for purchase exclusively online from April 4 at 12:00 PM local time. Users can get it on both Huawei Online Store and multinational e-commerce website Shopee. Huawei is also giving an early bird offer of RM20 for the Band 6.

Apart from a few tweaks like the Absence of NFC and one less color, the HUAWEI Band 6 seems to be similar in features to the leaked version for China. A well-known Chinese leakster who goes by the name of @看山的叔叔 on Weibo shared the promotional material of the unreleased HUAWEI Band 6. According to that, the upcoming fitness tracker from Huawei will be nothing but a rebranded HONOR Band 6.

The images shared by the leaker reveals that the HUAWEI Band 6 will sport a 1.47-inch AMOLED display with narrow bezels and lift-to-wake function support. The screen is said to be 1.5 times larger than the one found on the older HUAWEI Band 4.

The fitness tracker will feature an 18g lightweight body and a silicone strap that is comfortable to wear in every weather. Further, the company claims up to two weeks (14 days) battery life on a full charge and up to 2 days battery life on a 5-minute charge. The tracker will charge via a magnetic charger and will be available in four colors (Black, Orange, Green, Pink).

Talking about features, the HUAWEI Band 6 will support 96 sports modes, including Kung Fu. It will also have NFC for transportation passes and mobile payments. Like most fitness trackers, it will also come with features like camera shutter control and call & message alerts to name a few.

Last but not least, apart from blood oxygen level monitoring, the forthcoming Huawei fitness tracker will also support HUAWEI TruSeen 4.0 24-hour heart-rate monitoring, HUAWEI TruSleep 2.0 sleep monitoring, and HUAWEI TruRelax 2.0 stress monitoring.

That said, as of now, it is not known how much this product will cost and when it will be officially announced in China. Lastly, just like the HONOR Band 6, we can also expect the HUAWEI Band 6 to debut in global markets.

Huawei has recently been preparing to host another press conference soon. Apparently, the company might be holding the conference to announce new products that will launch new month in April 2021.

According to a Zol report, sources close to the matter have stated that the Huawei Band 6 series will be launching next month. The lineup will include the base Band 6 and the higher end Band 6 Pro. Notably, the new wearables would also be a part of the company’s efforts to focus on its IoT products portfolio and its development, as its primary source of revenue, the smartphone business, continues to suffer due to the US sanctions.

The sources also added that along with the new smart wearables, the Chinese tech giant is also planning on launching a new smart watch from its Huawei Watch Fit lineup as well. These smart watches feature a square display with AMOLED display panels with full color range as well. While we can expect the new smart band and smart watch to arrive with similar design and functionality, it would also likely feature a few upgrades and improvements as well.

At the moment, finer details regarding the upcoming wearables are currently unknown, But the report did add that the new product launches will be for gadgets under 1000 Yuan (roughly 153 US Dollars), although, it is unsure which products the pricing is for.
