Huawei will be holding a press conference this coming Friday to officially announce the Honor Magic flagship. The concept phone that is dubbed as Huawei Honor Magic is a “future phone” with bezel-less design. It is expected to deliver best software experience through its modified Android OS.

Honor Magic to Deliver Unique Software Experience

There is no confirmation on whether it will be running on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat. However, the analyst has added that in the Honor Magic will carry a few surprises software department. New details suggest that it will be running on a new kind of software that will support Android apps.

Popular analyst, Kevin Wang has stated that the Huawei Honor Magic will be running on Android OS. It is likely that the Android OS will be heavily modified along with new features of EMUI.

Huawei Honor Magic Design

According to well-known Weibo user, Mocha Rq, the Huawei Honor Magic could be the most controversial phone smartphone of 2016-17. One of the reasons behind it is that Honor Magic will be coming with a stunning design that features a display that is curved on all four edges.

The teaser images and leaked photos of the Honor Magic suggest that it won’t be featuring any physical buttons. The Huawei concept phone is expected to feature a waterproof chassis.

Previous rumors have suggested that it will be sporting 3D glass on its rear side. The Honor Magic has a slim design and it features a gold colored metallic frame.  Noted analyst, Pan Jiutang who has claimed to have used the device has praised Honor Magic for its wonderful design and hardware. In the recent past, he had stated that the Honor with its pocket-friendly design offers good grip.

Huawei Honor Magic Specifications

Its 5-inch curved screen carries support for 2K resolution. Since it is a powered by Kirin 950 chipset and not the more powerful Kirin 960 SoC, it can be said that it won’t be a flagship smartphone. Using the old chipset is probably due to its long development period, wherein the chipset was finalized a while back. The chipset is said to be supported by 4GB of RAM.

Other expected features of Huawei Honor Magic include 12-megapixel dual front-facing and rear cameras. Other features include iris scanner, NFC, stylus support and a fingerprint reader embedded under the display. Its 2,900 mAh battery is rumored to support wireless charging and super fast charging.

Huawei Honor Magic Price

Jiutang had mentioned earlier on Weibo that the Huawei Honor Magic will be carry an expensive price tag. Recently, the smartphone was listed on JingDong online mall with a whooping price of 9999 RMB ($1442). But that’s probably not true and the final price should be much cheaper than the above figure.

Huawei has got a big surprise lined up for us, barely a month after gifting us some real machines in the Mate 9, Mate 9 Pro and Mate 9 Porsche Design. The company is set to unveil its own concept phone dubbed Huawei Honor Magic but which we were yet to see in leaks before now. However, Huawei seems to have stylishly leaked the render of the concept phone in a teased poster announcing the scheduled December 16 launch date for the Huawei concept phone and sure, it is launching under the Honor brand.

The Huawei Honor Magic phone’s outline could be seen in the GIF image appearing out of what looks like the moon. The concept phone’s design and outline comes out pretty distinct revealing what would likely be a curved screen device on all four sides. The Huawei Mate 9 Pro features a dual curved screen display but the Concept phone will take it a tad higher by getting a curved display on all four sides.

In addition to the innovative design, the Huawei Concept phone had been revealed to feature the latest graphene-assisted battery technology that offers super fast charging. The concept device is also touted to come without any physical capacitive keys or aperture for cameras and other onboard ports and sensors but to use a peripheral device that it will connect to. We can’t be so sure about that, though.

That was being treated as a rumor but it seems to have gotten confirmation from a reliable source. Chief Scientist at Huawei-owned Watt Laboratory, Dr Li Yangxing may just have confirmed the existence of the concept machine when he was announcing the breakthrough Huawei has made in Graphene-Assisted battery technology. The scientist added that the battery has been commercialized and Huawei plans to announce a phone with the super-quick charge function by late December.

This stance was re-echoed by analyst Pan Jiutang who also added that the device would feature fast-charging technology. The well-known industry analyst had earlier hinted that the concept phone would feature Samsung’s customized four curved screen and would be equipped with a number of sensors as well as capable of achieving artificial intelligence.

In addition, the Huawei concept phone is said to come without physical cameras at the front and rear, fingerprint sensor, no visible physical capacitive keys, neither is there any visible speakers, headphone jack or any other physical feature except the curved screen. This is likely because the Huawei concept phone would come with a set of peripherals such as headsets, smart band or watch, external camera and even implant device. It is also rumored that Huawei would likely manufacture just the concept phones while the other peripheral devices would be manufactured by third parties.

We can say for sure if these details about external peripherals are true but we now know we should be expecting a spectacular device from Huawei any moment from now. Also that the device would likley have a large curved display as well as a large batter with super fast charging technology.

Not long after well-known analyst Pan Jiutang revealed that Huawei was working on its own concept phone using Samsung’s four curved screen and scheduled for release in December, more details have emerged sort of lending credence to Jiutang’s assertions. The new details even went on to mention specifically that the Huawei concept phone would be launched on December 16.

According to Weibo user @Mocha, the said Huawei Concept phone is not just a new product but a new product line or brand which perhaps would bore many offspring in the future. The leakster ascribed a very high degree of authenticity to Pan Jiutang’s post about the Huawei device.

Also, another Weibo user @Zheng Jun also confirmed the existence of a Huawei concept phone and the conceptualization comes in on the screen design and the design would be one of the major attraction of the device. Jiutang had earlier hinted at Huawei using Samsung’s four curved screen on the device. We’ll have to wait some more to fully grab what that means.

Further more, some web users have dug into the archives to unearth a Huawei patent filed last year for a concept device (pictured above) with curved display at the front and a rounded arc at the back which is symmetrical with the front glass. The device bore some resemblance with Samsung Galaxy Edge’s design  but with some notable omissions. On closer look it can be seen that the concept phone has no camera, no fingerprint sensor, no visible physical capacitive keys, neither is there any visible speakers, headphone jack or any other physical feature except the curved screen.

With the release of the Huawei Mate 9 and Mate 9 Porsche Design, one would have thought Huawei’s smartphone releases for the year is concluded. But that seems not to be the case as Huawei is rumored to be planning the release of a more captivating device next month.

According to analyst Pan Jiutang, Huawei would release a device even more powerful than the Mate 9 next month. The analyst made this disclosure on Weibo  and even went further to give some highlights of the device’s specs.  The phone will feature Samsung customized four curved screen and would be equipped with a number of sensors as well as capable of achieving artificial intelligence.

Mr Jiutang went further to reveal that the real machine has been seen by insiders and they describe its appearance as stunning. If actually this turns out to be true, Huawei would have succeeded in performing way above our expectations for the year. The company is already positioned to achieve its sales target for the year and now another powerful phone? That’s just awesome.
