As per the post, HarmonyOS 3 is just around the corner and the reveal is arriving soon.

According to an ITHome report, an employee of the Chinese tech giant has shared that the next generation of HarmonyOS is planned to be unveiled soon. Notably, the company is planning on holding the Huawei Developer Conference on October 24. During this event, the brand is set to showcase its new HarmonyOS 3.0. Similarly, the HarmonyOS 2.0 had also been launched during the September 2020 Huawei Developer Conference.

Since then, the company has launched a number of products that support HarmonyOS, including smartphones, IoT and other smart products. One of the recent smartphones that launched with HarmonyOS is the Nova 9 series. As of right now, the company has confirmed that the number of users that upgraded to its proprietary operating system has crossed 120 million and it expected the overall user base to surpass 300 million by the end of this year. So stay tuned for more, as we will be covering the upcoming HDC 2021 event later this month.

The tech giant has revealed the date the event will kick off as well as details about attendance.

The Huawei Developer Conference 2021 is scheduled to begin on October 22 and will run through October 24. The annual event can be likened to Huawei’s version of Google I/O with announcements on new software developments and updates for its developer community.

At last year’s event, Huawei announced HarmonyOS 2.0, HMS Core 5.0, its software solution for cars dubbed HiCar, and EMUI 11. There are reports that a new version of HarmonyOS will be announced at this year’s conference which seems plausible. We also expect Huawei will announce updates to its developer tools.

Huawei has begun selling tickets for the event. Pricing for the tickets starts at ¥198 (~$665) for an ordinary one and goes up to ¥4298 (~$31) for a VIP one. Tickets will be available for purchase from now until October 10.

A new report has revealed Huawei will announce a new version of the operating system later this year at its annual developer conference this year.

The source of the info is the leaker, Teme, who goes by @RODENT950 on Twitter and he revealed in a tweet that the new version of HarmonyOS will be announced at the Huawei Developer Conference (HDC) 2021 that will hold later this year. The date for the conference is currently unknown. We checked its website and what we found is the date for its Huawei Developer Day event which is scheduled for September 10.

Huawei's new products for this month are
Mostly enterprise stuff.
All in one PC
New S-series MateBooks
New MateView monitor
New laser printer
Nova 9 series phones.
New version of HarmonyOS is coming in HDC2021 later on this year. pic.twitter.com/px7O5Mu6Hm

— Teme (特米) (@RODENT950) September 6, 2021

While we wait for more details regarding the next version of HarmonyOS, Huawei has a number of interesting product announcements scheduled for this month. The source reconfirmed the launch of Huawei’s AiO PC as well as new S-series MateBooks, a new MateView monitor, a laser printer, and the Nova 9 smartphone series.

It has already been confirmed that the Nova 9 series will be announced at an event in China on September 23. However, it is not known if the computer-related products will be announced on that day too.

Huawei has been focusing more on its PC business in recent months. While it has been making laptops under its MateBook line before its trouble with the U.S began, its recent push into more computer-related categories began after the ban. It launched its first desktop computer last year which is targeted at professionals. The upcoming All-in-One PC should be more appealing to the average consumer.

The Chinese tech giant Huawei first announced the MindSpore AI computing framework in August 2019. It follows the three core development goals and they are easy development, efficient execution, and adaptable to all scenarios respectively.

As privacy has become a concern in today’s world, MindSpore only deals with gradient and model information, which has already been processed. That means it does not process the data itself and hence private user data remains protected even in cross-scenario environments. Further, it also has a built-in model protection technology for added security.

The MindSpore AI framework can be used in all scenarios, across all devices, edges and cloud environments. It also provides on-demand cooperation between them and its “AI Algorithm As Code” design helps developers to build advanced AI applications seamlessly. Because in a typical neural network for NLP (Natural Language Processing), it has 20% fewer lines of core code than other frameworks in the market and thus increases the efficiency of developers by at least 50%.

Huawei MindSpore AI framework not only supports the company’s own lineup of AI processors such as Ascend 910 but also other CPUs and GPUs available in the market.

The reason cited for the postponement is the new virus outbreak in Wuhan which has caused alarm in China.

According to the event website, HDC.Cloud 2020, which was originally planned to be held in Shenzen from 11th to 12th of February 2020, has been postponed to the 27th – 28th of March 2020. The major event is witnessing more than a month of delay but will still be broadcasted via live webcast. The main reason for the delay is the new virus outbreak which has primarily affected the Wuhan region in China. The Coronavirus is responsible for the outbreak and is known to cause cases of pneumonia in the infected.

Many companies operating in the region have warned their respective employees and citizens residing in the region have been told to exercise caution when moving about in the open. Furthermore, this has even led to face masks being sold out in the Southeast Asian country, which now also suffers from a shortage of the crucial and preventive commodity. Wuhan district is currently under quarantine with 11 million people barred from leaving the region while about 17 people have been confirmed to have perished due to the outbreak.

For those unaware, HDC.Cloud is Huawei Group’s largest annual developer conference, meaning its a flagship event with notable announcements taking place. The Huawei Developer Conference of 2020 is a global event that also sees the presence of foreign developers as well for its Information and Communications field (ICT). The aim of the conference is to build a global platform for communications and has been an annual event for the past 30 years.

Since the situation is Wuhan grows dire, Huawei’s plan on the delay is the right move with global organizations like WHO (World Health Organization) also stepping in to deal with the situation. Although, controlling an entire region filled with 11 million people seems like a Herculean task in itself. Stay tuned for more updates and developments regarding the event.

HarmonyOS, unlike other major operating systems, is designed to work on every device thanks to it being micro-kernel based.

HarmonyOS will not only work on smartphones but will also work on TVs, tablets, smart speakers, wireless earbuds, smartwatches, PCs, VR glasses, and even in cars. Huawei’s Chief Executive Officer, Richard Yu, says the OS is designed to work on devices with RAM sizes ranging from kilobytes to gigabytes.

HarmonyOS is the first microkernel-based distributed OS for all scenarios – Richard Yu, HDC 2019

HarmonyOS will support a wide range of apps including Android, Linux, and HTML5 in the future. The new operating system uses Huawei’s ARK compiler and will support Kotlin, Java, Javascript, C, and C++ programming languages. It will also have a verified Trusted Execution Environment for a better connected security across multiple devices.

Developed via the distributed capability kit, it builds the foundation of a shared developer ecosystem #HDC2019 pic.twitter.com/2TD9cgtdG8

Huawei said it began working on the OS back in 2017. It is currently in version 1.0 with Version 2.0 scheduled for launch next year and version 3.0 planned for 2021. We should also see it appear on PCs next year and on VR headsets in 2022.

HarmonyOS will debut tomorrow on the Honor TV. It will not appear on phones yet as Huawei says it is still sticking to Android. However, they said switching to HarmonyOS can be done already and should take between 1 to 2 days.
