With a price tag of 1,899 Yuan (~$275), the phone was available in Magic Night Black and Blue Sapphire colors.</p>
<p>Today, the company has introduced a new color option for the Huawei <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-maimang-8/">Maimang 8</a> &#8212; Aurora Blue. It is a gradient color with a combination of teal and dark blue running from top to bottom. This new color variant is now available for purchase in China for a price of 1,699 yuan, which roughly converts to $237.</p>

<p>Coming to the specifications, the smartphone comes equipped with a 6.21-inch display having a waterdrop notch that houses the front-facing camera. The IPS LCD screen offers 19.5:9 aspect ratio and Full HD+ resolution as well as 89 percent screen-to-body ratio. It is also TUV Rheinland certified, protecting the eyes of the users from fatigue by obstructing the blue rays.</p>
<p>Under the hood, the device is powered by Huawei&#8217;s own Kirin 710 chipset and comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. For additional storage, there&#8217;s also dedicated microSD card slot with support for up to 512GB.</p>

<p>In terms of optics, the device features a vertical triple camera setup, consisting of a 24-megapixel primary sensor along with 16-megapixel super-wide lens and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front side, it features an 8-megapixel snapper. The photography features offered by the Maimang 8 include AI scene recognition, 480 fps slow-motion video recording, handheld night scene and so on.</p>
<p>The phone is running Android 9 Pie operating system out-of-the-box with the company&#8217;s own <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/emui">EMUI</a> 9 on top. It also comes with GPU Turbo technology that enhances the graphics capabilities. It is powered by a 3,400mAh battery with 10W charging support.</p>

<p>As for the memory configuration, it will be offered with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The phone will feature a triple rear camera setup, aligned vertically in the top-left corner. It will have a 24 MP + 16 MP + 2 MP AI camera sensors.</p>
<p>The smartphone will also come with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for added security. As for the interface, it will come with a 3.5mm headphone jack and a micro USB port for charging and transferring data.</p>
<p>The company has not yet revealed which chipset will be powering the device. Its predecessor, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-maimang-7/">Maimang 7</a>, was powered by the Kirin 710 SoC, so it&#8217;s likely that the Maimang 8 will have Kirin 700-series chipset and could also pack the same Kirin 710 SoC.</p>
<p>As per the reports, the phone will also come with the company&#8217;s GPU Turbo technology, which is a graphics acceleration technology aimed at improving the gaming experience. It could come with Android 9 Pie pre-installed with the EMUI 9 UI on top.</p>
