Huawei is on the release spree, both in terms of product launches and software update rollouts. The company will be soon announcing Huawei Nova 5 series, amidst this, it has been rolling out EMUI 10.1 closed beta updates to certain newer deices and an incremental EMUI 10 update to older flagships. The Huawei Mate 10 series in China is the latest to receive the latter update with build version EMUI 10.0.0.170.

The new update brings features such as multi-screen collaboration, screen sharing, smart charging mode, and April 2020 security patch. This is exactly the same update that was recently rolled out to the Huawei P20 series.

But for those devices, the OTA came with build number EMUI 10.0.0.172, instead of EMUI 10.0.0.170 for the Huawei Mate 10 series.

Anyway, here’s the list of models that are currently receiving this update.

• Huawei Mate 10 Unlocked (ALP-AL00)
• Huawei Mate 10 China Mobile (ALP-TL00)
• Huawei Mate 10 Pro Unlocked (BLA-AL00)
• Huawei Mate 10 Pro China Mobile (BLA-TL00)

The update weighs 728MB in size and requires the above-mentioned eligible devices to be on EMUI 10.0.0.162 build. Just like the last time, we are not sure when the update will be hitting the global versions of these devices.

Huawei Mate 20 series isn’t too far away from its official unveiling. The Chinese tech giant has already disclosed that the Kirin 980 chipset will be released at IFA Berlin 2018 on August 31. The company’s first 7nm Kirin 980 chipset will power the Mate 20 models. Perhaps to clear its existing stock before the arrival of the Mate 20, Huawei has adjusted the prices of the P20 series as well as the Mate 10 Pro.

Presently, all the P20 models are now 400 yuan ($58) cheaper while the P20 Pro models have a 500 yuan (~$73) flat price cut. Consequently, the Huawei P20 6GB+64GB version is offered for 3388 yuan, the 6GB+128GB version for  3888 yuan ($492). While the P20 Pro 6GB+64GB version now retails for 4488 yuan ($652), the 6GB+128GB version for 4988 yuan ($725), the 6GB+256GB version for 5788 yuan ($841).

Huawei also slashed the price of the Mate 10 Pro but this is a limited time offer. The two models of the Mate 10 Pro are offered for 400 yuan less their prices and you can buy now in China for 3599 yuan ($523) for the 6GB + 64GB version while the 6GB + 128GB version comes with a price tag of 3999 yuan ($581). With the sales figures released by Huawei which showed the company has sold up to 20 millions P20 units this year, it is unlikely that the company has a large inventory of all the models in stock. So, the stock may get exhausted in no distant time. The Mate 10 Pro may likely not be available on the official channel after the Mate 20 is launched but the P20 and P20 could still be available until next year when we’ll see the P30.

One of the highlights of the Huawei P20 Pro is its camera performance. Huawei has not only worked hard on the hardware part but also put in a lot of work in the software department.

One software feature of the P20 Pro is its ability to take long exposure shots without the need for a tripod. Usually, you need a tripod to take a long exposure shot because if your hands shake while taking one, the photo comes out blurry.

Using AI image stabilization (AIS), Huawei lets owners of the P20 Pro take long exposure photos without the need for a tripod. The good news is that the feature will also be coming to the Mate 10 series via an update.

The Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro both use the same Kirin 970 processor in the P20 Pro. They also have Leica optics. The update will begin rolling out on May 31. About a year after Huawei started testing Android Oreo on the Mate 9, new evidence suggests that the Chinese company is testing Android P on Huawei Mate 10 and 10 Pro. According to XDA Developers, the hi-tech giant has started testing the new version of Google’s operating system on the Chinese variant of the Mate 10 identified by the model number ALP-AL00. With the aid of a service called FunkyHuawei specialized in updating, rebranding, and unbricking Huawei phones, guys from XDA Developers have been able to rebrand a Mate 10 Pro to the Chinese variant of the Mate 10 and they managed to install the Android P test firmware.

Three photos showing the build installed on the Huawei Mate 10 Pro have then been published. The first shows the Android P Easter egg, while the second shows the About screen, confirming that the testing firmware contains the EMUI 8.2 based on Android 9.0.0. However, it is likely that the final Android P release will be customized with EMUI 9.0. The third photo shows the Developer Options menu. The new user interface does not contain the changes noticed on the first Android P Developer Preview called Material Design 2, and neither the recently-leaked iPhone X-like navigation bar which replaces the multi-tasking key with a gesture.

But it is likely that the company should already be working on a similar navigation bar to include in the final build. Other things included in this firmware are Android P’s restrictions on apps that use non-SDK Java APIs, global actions for Accessibility Services, restrictions on third-party OMS overlays and text selection zoom. Currently, the first Developer Preview of Android P is only available on the latest Google phones: Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL. There are still no custom ROMs based on Android P for Huawei Mate 10 and all other handsets as there is still no source code available.

Samsung and Apple’s flagships are usually the phones that are mostly cloned. But that may be changing as one Chinese manufacturer has released a phone that is a clone of the Huawei Mate 10 Pro.

The Huawo 6081, a phone manufactured by Shenzhen Zehn Technology Co. Ltd. was seen at MWC 2018 and it shares a striking resemblance to Huawei’s recent flagship.

The phone not only copies the design of the Mate 10 Pro but also comes in similar colors. It however differs when it comes to internals, though there is one key feature it has that’s unavailable on the Mate 10 Pro.

The Huawo 6081 has a 6” FHD+ INCELL display. It is powered by a MediaTek 6750T processor clocked at 1.5GHz with 4GB of RAM and 64GB ROM.

There are dual 13MP cameras on its back and an 8MP selfie camera. The Huawo 6081 also has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, NFC, and a 3200mAh battery with support for fast charging via a USB-C port.

It also has wireless charging support, a feature absent in the Mate 10 Pro. It runs Android 8.0 Oreo and is available in black, gold, blue, and gray.

The phone is not yet available for purchase as mass production hasn’t begun yet. There is also no info as to how much it would cost if it eventually makes it to the market.

AnTuTu has released a list of its top 10 highest performing smartphones for January 2018. The list is based on models which scored the highest points on AnTuTu benchmark. This is the first list that would be released by the benchmarking tool since the upgrade of its software version from V6.3.6 to v7.0.1. Of course, the list only contains Android smartphones. The iOS-powered Apple models with the A11 chip scores higher than its Android counterparts before the SD 845-powered Galaxy S9 was released.

Top of the list is the Kirin 970-powered Huawei Mate 10 Pro with a total score of 214580 points. The second spot is also occupied by the Mate 10 scoring a total of 212841 points. In a surprising twist, the Honor V10 which was announced with a Kirin 970 chip occupied the third spot with a score of 212557. OnePlus 5 is the first Snapdragon 835 smartphone on the list, sitting at number 4 spot with 211292 points. The OP5 is followed by the OnePlus 5T which scored 210134 points when it was benchmarked on AnTuTu. ZTE’s Nubia Z17 occupy the number 6 spot with 208922 points while the Xiaomi Mi 6 made the number 7 spot with 206571.

Another Xiaomi model, this time the Mi Mix 2 scored 205206 points to occupy the 8th place on the charts. But we expect this list to change significantly when the top 10 for February would be released since new Snapdragon 845-powered models would have gotten included by then.

The best flagships by Honor and Huawei: Honor View 10 and Huawei Mate 10 Pro, have just received the support to the official TWRP custom recovery and LineageOS 15.1.

Thanks to the official TWRP which is now possible to install on Huawei Mate 10 Pro and Honor View 10, these phones will be able to run many custom ROMs, and LineageOS 15.1 will be among the best ones that the users will be able to install. It is worth noting that the handsets also support Project Treble since they run Android 8.0 Oreo, and it means that AOSP ROMs can be easily ported to them. There is just an issue on LineageOS 15.1 for Honor View 10 and Huawei Mate 10 Pro: the wireless display feature does not work. So, if you install this custom ROM you will not be able to connect your device to an external monitor via Wi-Fi.

According to the developer who realized the ROM for Honor View 10 and Huawei Mate 10 Pro, all the rest of the features work properly. But keep in mind that it is not an official version, even though all the features present in the official release are included. One of Huawei‘s best smartphones presently going by several genuine reviews is the Mate 10 Pro. The device not only comes with a spectacular design but also with a powerful specs lineup, including the AI-capable Kirin 970 chipset. Huawei recently launched the Mate 10 Pro in the U.S at CES 2018 but the device is not yet available to buy. The company recently kickstarted a beta testers programme for the device and that is the source of controversy presently rocking the company and its flagship. 

According to an observation by 9to5Google, Huawei recruited people to write “fake” Mate 10 Pro reviews on Best Buy. Funny enough, the Mate 10 Pro doesn’t need a fake review when there are countless genuine reviews all over the net ranking the device high. That is as blunt as it can get but the fact is that the company recently launched a contest on its Facebook page where it asked participants to drop a comment on the Mate 10 Pro’s page on Best Buy stating why they want the Mate 10 Pro. The contest will see the winners get the chance to test the Mate 10 Pro, that is in the U.S. Apparently wanting to impress, most of the 108 respondents left glowing comments about the Mate 10 Pro which are supposed to be reviewed. Almost all of the reviews gave the Huawei flagship a solid 5-star rating with some allegedly branding the device as the “unbeatable smartphone of the year,” a “great new flagship phone,” and even a device that “puts Samsung to shame.” The thing is, the Mate 10 Pro is still on preorder and is yet to go on sale in the U.S. So, there is absolutely no way the respondents would have used the device in order to rationally review it except those residing outside the U.S.

Huawei has responded to the allegations that it sponsored the “fake reviews”, releasing a statement to clear the misconception. Hre is the official statement; “Huawei’s first priority is always the consumer and we encourage our customers to share their experiences with our devices in their own voice and through authentic conversation. We believe there is confusion around a recent social media post reaching out to recruit new beta testers. While there are reviews from beta testers with extensive knowledge of the product, they were in no way given monetary benefits for providing their honest opinions of the product. However, we are working to remove posts by beta testers where it isn’t disclosed they participated in the review program.”

This statement sounds logical but could be a way out of the negative publicity this would generate especially in a market where marketing and promotional tactics are expected to be based on facts and not hype. Huawei could do this in China and get away with it. We see it done by many OEMs on retail platforms and they get away with it. The move could also be a genuine but deceitful means of convincing more people to buy the Mate 10 Pro in the U.S. Huawei failed in its bid to sell the device via the two biggest carriers in the U.S where smartphone sales are usually tied to carriers. Since that move failed for political reasons bordering on U.S-China relationship, this could be a subtle way of selling the device on Best Buy. Huawei denies that was its intention and we’ll leave it at that because the Mate 10 Pro doesn’t need a fake review. We labelled the Huawei Mate 10 Pro “the ultimate winter flagship” after the device was shown in a couple of tests to have survived inside a deep freezer operating at sub-zero (-24) degrees temperature for four hours. The flagship was later shown to be functional even inside a frozen lake with a video still playing while inside rock-solid ice. Now, here is yet another compilation of tests to prove the durability of the Mate 10 Pro conducted by popular YouTuber Zack Jerry also known by his YouTube channel JerryRigEverything.

The Mate 10 Pro isn’t relatively a new smartphone having been launched last year but the device was recently unveiled at CES 2018 in Las Vegas for the U.S market. The device is currently up for pre-order in the U.S. If you are still undecided if the device is the right flagship for you or if it is as good as the iPhone X or Galaxy S8+, this test places a stamp of quality on the Mate 10 Pro. The device doesn’t disappoint on the scratch, burn and bend tests and you can check that out on the video below.

Huawei Mate 10 Pro comes with a solid display which shouldn’t scratch easily. The rear glass also can’t be scratched easily as well as the rear camera and Huawei logos which bot sit under the glass panel. However, the fingerprint sensor has a plastic coating that can easily be scratched with a razor blade. But despite the scratch, the fingerprint scanner still reads well. On the burn test, the display manages to withstand an open flame for a whopping 40 seconds without any damage, matching Samsung’s Galaxy S8 in this regard. Unfortunately though, because the Mate 10 Pro uses an OLED touchscreen, its pixels don’t recover once you’ve stopped applying the flame, unlike some LCDs.

In the crucial bend test, the Mate 10 Pro continues from where the Mate 9 pro left off as it survives with flying colors.  The device doesn’t flex almost at all when it is bent either from the front or the back. The bend action doesn’t do any damage to the glass screen or the glass rear panel, and there isn’t even a crinkle near the metal power button.

Huawei is putting serious effort into promoting its 2017 flagship Mate 10 series, especially the Mate 10. Just recently, we were thrilled by a video of the Mate 10 Pro surviving inside a freezer unscathed for 4 hours even as temperatures reached -24 degrees. Now Huawei has released another test showing the device under icy water in a frozen lake.

These tests seem to be targeted at Apple whose iPhones, iPads and other devices usually come with low-temperature protection such that when it is left is low temperatures below zero, a series of response occur which eventually result in the phone shutting down. According to Apple’s official website, the best operating temperature for iPhone, iPad, iPod and Apple Watch is between 0 ℃ and 35 ℃ while for the MacBook, it is between 10 ℃ and 35 ℃. That isn’t so for the Mate 10 as it has been shown to still remain functional even in the most extreme of temperatures. Huawei even indicated on its website that the optimal operating temperature of the Mate 10 Pro is 0-35 degree Celsius but this test and the previous one done in a freezer show that the Mate 10 Pro can survive in far lower temperatures.

In this case, the Mate 10 Pro was still able to accept an incoming call still inside the frozen lake. What more does Huawei need to do to prove the Mate 10 Pro is super powerful? Perhaps drop it from the third floor of a building? We don’t know if the device will survive that. All we know is that the Mate 10 Pro comes with an IP67 waterproof and dustproof body, coupled with an excellent full-screen design, a powerful SoC with AI capabilities and the latest EMUI 8.0.

Until recently, the waterproof body is usually the characteristics of rugged smartphones or feature phones. But now flagship models are usually advertised as having IP ratings good enough to guarantee protection from water and dust. In case you don’t know, IP stands for “Ingress Protection”. They are used to define levels of sealing effectiveness of electrical enclosures against intrusion from foreign bodies (tools, dirt etc) and moisture. Today, most mobile phones with IP ratings are usually IP67 certified, and one of such phones advertised as having an IP 67 rating is the Huawei Mate 10 Pro.

That IP67 rating was seriously put to test recently in a manner that we’d never have expected. The smartphone was inserted into a bowl of water while a video was playing and then the bowl was kept in a freezer for four hours reaching up to a temperature of -24 degree Celcius. All these while, the Mate 10 Pro was being monitored to see if it will go off. At the end of four hours, the smartphone was removed from the freezer and after the ice thawed, the smartphone still kept working. Even after such an extreme test!

Even though we don’t recommend trying this at home, the test goes to show how durable the Mate 10 Pro is. Despite the waterproof body claim which has now been proven, damage to phone caused by water isn’t covered by warranty and that is clearly stated on the warranty card of most IP67-certified phones. Huawei’s flagship device — the Huawei Mate 10 Pro was gearing up to be available in the US through a partnership with network carrier AT&T. However, recently there were reports suggesting that the deal has failed.

Now, Huawei Technologies has confirmed that its deal with AT&T has fallen apart and said that the Mate 10 Pro won’t be available through US carriers. But the company has not revealed the reason behind the failure to reach an agreement.

The Information reported that AT&T was urged to drop the deal following a letter from the U.S. Senate and House Intelligence committees to the Federal Communications Commission raising concerns about Huawei’s plan to launch products through US carrier.

The Mate 10 Pro could have been the first flagship device from the company to be available through network operators in the US. With such deal, the China-based company, which ranks third in the world’s top smartphone vendors, was aiming to expand its smartphone business in the US.

Instead, the Huawei Mate 10 Pro will now be available in the United States through open channels in the market. It will be available through the authorized retailers and Huawei Store. In a statement, the company said:

We remain committed in this market now and in the future. U.S. customers need a better choice, and as a leader in technology and innovation, Huawei is prepared to fill this need.

The Huawei Mate 10 Pro features a 6-inch Full-HD+ display with 2160 x 1080 pixels resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by the company’s own Kirin 970 processor. The phone was launched in two variants — 4GB RAM with 64GB internal storage and 6GB RAM with 128GB onboard storage. There is no microSD card slot for expanding the storage capacity.

It has an IP67 rating and comes with Cat.18 LTE. It also comes with a pair of USB-C earphones and a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter. As of the camera, there’s a dual-camera setup consisting 12MP RGB + 20MP monochrome sensors on the back with f/1.6 aperture and SUMMILUX-H lens along with 4-in-1 hybrid focus, hybrid zoom, and OIS. On the front, there’s an 8MP sensor with f/2.2 aperture.

It is fuelled by a 4,000mAh battery which Huawei claims has a 30 percent improvement over that of the Mate 9. There is also Superfast Charge, allowing users to charge the battery up to 58 percent in just 30 minutes.

Huawei launched the Mate 10 Pro alongside the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Porsche on October 16  in Germany and the device was indeed a stunner. The Mate 10 Pro has since gone on sale in Europe and China but not in the U.S. Huawei has now officially announced that it would unveil the Mate 10 Pro for the U.S market at CES 2018 on January 9.

Huawei had hinted last month that it would showcase a flagship smartphone at CES 2018 in order to officially launch it in the US. As expected, that device is the Mate 10 Pro and Huawei U.S tags the smartphone as “the best phone you’ve never heard of.” This mantra is definitely targeted at the U.S customers who are yet to get a feel of the sleek, full-screen Mate 10 Pro.

These are one of the best-looking phones on the market and they offer bleeding edge specs and much more. VIDEO REVIEW

DESIGN, DISPLAY, BATTERY LIFE

Both Mates look just gorgeous as they use a quality metal frame and glass on the front and rear. The phones look really nice in the hand despite their huge footprint. I didn’t drop either of the phones, so they both still look as new.

They Mate 10 has a smaller 5.9” 2k resolution LCD display that has a traditional 16:9 aspect ratio, meaning that it is wider but it is a bit shorter than the Mate 10 Pro.

The latter phone has a larger 6” AMOLED display with 18:9 aspect ratio but it has only 1080p resolution. In practice, I found both displays to be plenty sharp for everyday use but I prefer the AMOLED panel on the Mate 10 Pro.

I found both fingerprint scanners to be very fast and accurate. The Mate 10 has one on the front while the Mate 10 Pro has it on the back.

Both phones have 4000mAh batteries that have been performing really well. With my usage, I could get over 6 hours of screen-on time but keep in mind that I usually install a ton of apps and use the phone quite intensively.

The supplied charger fully charges the phone in just about 1h and 10 mins, which is one of the best results out there.

The Mate 10 has a microSD card slot whereas the Mate 10 Pro lacks this feature. Also, it does not have the headset jack like a regular Mate 10 but it has more storage and RAM memory (6GB/ 128GB vs 4GB/64GB). Both phones have the same powerful Kirin 970 chipset.

Another area where the Mate 10 Pro excels over the Mate 10 is the IP67 certification for water and dust resistance.

The stereo speaker setup is very good and it might be one of the best in the business.

HARDWARE and PERFORMANCE

When it comes to hardware, the Mate 10 has a brand new Hisilicon Kirin 970 chipset that is coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The Mate 10 Pro ships with the same chipset, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, which is, however, not expandable.

The new Mate 10 phones sport the first Huawei chipset with a neural processing unit or AI component of the processor, which learns how you use the phone and helps the device adapt to assure the best user experience. For example, the AI chip detects what kind of picture you take to apply the best image settings and it did a pretty good job during my unscientific test. Also, it helps apply the right amount of blurring effect in the portrait mode.

Obviously, the AI component does a lot more than helping you take better pictures. Most importantly, it learns every single day to assure the best user experience.  For example, it learns how you use the phone to make it faster by allocating the resources to the specific task. So far, Microsoft has updated its Translator app to make use of the AI chipset to speed up the translation process. When reading a book, the NPU will remind users to enable Eye Comfort mode (Huawei’s blue light filter). Or, when taking a picture of a business card, the NPU will offer to scan the details into your phone book. These are just a few examples of how AI processor works in practice.

If you don’t really care about artificial intelligence, you can be rest assured that the Mate 10 will handle absolutely everything you throw at it. I played a lot of different games on the very highest settings and the phone just flies. A flagship-grade performance.

Finally, what impressed me the most was that the phone stayed cold to the touch even after 40 mins of gaming.

USER INTERFACE

The Mate 10 ships with Android 8 out of the box but it has the EMUI skin built on top of it. Some people may love it, some may hate it mainly because of it’s a bit cartoonish look. The first thing you may want to do is bring back the app drawer feature, which is built into the UI.

I personally like it since there are plenty of features and customization options to make the phone look your own. You can choose from a variety of themes, wallpapers and so on. There are also pretty cool transition effects and other customization options.

You can choose from quite a few smart assistance features that I don’t really like using, to be honest. If you plan to use those gestures, they work fine. What is the most important thing about this phone is that it is blazing fast, fluid and responsive. Huawei claims that the phone will not show any signs of slowing down even after 18 months of using it. I can’t confirm that but the Mate 10 is indeed a very fast phone on the daily basis.

EMUI Desktop Experience

Just like the Mate 10 Pro, the Mate 10 has the EMUI desktop feature that is just awesome. You simply connect your phone using the HDMI port to any display, without the need to buy a dock station.

There is the desktop mode that converts your phone into a basic laptop. You can edit your documents, browse the web, access all the files from the phone and so on. Obviously, you can connect a Bluetooth keyboard and the mouse for an even better experience but if you don’t have one, you can use a built it trackpad directly from the phone that I found to be pretty intuitive to use. You can also switch to the phone mode, which basically mirrors phone’s display. You can even play 3D games without any input lag, which is pretty awesome. Overall, I really like the EMUI Desktop feature. It works straight out of the box, no need for a docking station, no additional software.

CAMERAS

Both phones have identical cameras.  A 12-megapixel RGB camera is paired with a 20-megapixel monochrome sensor here, and both lenses feature apertures of up to f/1.6.

The camera takes pictures really fast. There are quite a few shooting modes. My favorites include 2x optical zoom to make the best out of that secondary sensor. This mode is really useful and I enjoyed using it while I was exploring Munich. The pictures look pretty good as you don’t lose detail like using digital zoom.

The daylight images look really good considering the fact that the phone still runs on an early software build. There is a good amount of detail, sharpness and the dynamic range adjustment is quite impressive. The only downside is that some of the pictures are underexposed but that can be easily fixed in post.

The low-light camera performance is quite impressive too. Sure, there is a bit more noise and less detail but in general, the results are great. Pictures taken using a portrait mode usually look quite good but I noticed some artifacts going on in a few shots. There is also a monochrome mode that I’m not a huge fan of but the pictures look really nice and detailed.

Selfies taken using the 8MP camera are detailed and will definitely do the trick for social media needs.

4k video looks pretty good too as the footage is sharp and detailed. However, the OIS does not work in the 4k mode, meaning that the video may look a bit shaky. 720p slow-motion video is not the best I’ve seen but it’s definitely usable. 1080p selfie video looks great too as there is plenty of detail. Finally, I really like the sound recording quality.

CONNECTIVITY

Connectivity-wise, the Mate 10 and the Mate 10 Pro are just excellent. The call quality and signal reception are great, Wifi and mobile network speeds are really fast, Bluetooth and NFC work fine. Also, the GPS is very accurate. Finally, the phones have a bunch of sensors, just like any other flagship in the market.

CONCLUSIONS

After using both Mate 10 and the Mate 10 Pro for more than 1.5 months, I still believe they are one of the best phones on the market right now.

The devices simply look beautiful, the phones are well-made, the displays are sharp, a powerful processor assures excellent overall performance and a dedicated AI chipset will learn on the daily basis to assure the best user experience. Also, the cameras take one of the best pictures and the battery life is great.

A few things that bother me about the Huawei Mate 10 are that there is no wireless charging, the water, and dust resistance rating could be higher and there should also be a 128GB model available for all the regions, just like on the Mate 10 Pro.

Obviously, there are some caveats to consider about the Mate 10 Pro like the lack of the 3.5mm headset jack that less and less phone have. Also, there is no wireless charging, no microSD card slot, and no 2k resolution display.Other than that, the Mate 10 and the Mate 10 Pro are legit flagship phones that have a ton of premium features and so far, they are one of my favorite phones of 2017, despite a few shortcomings.

Huawei announced the Honor V10 smartphone in China yesterday. The V10 was Huawei bringing the full-screen design to the mid-range segment once again after the Maimang 6 but this time around, they equipped the smartphone with the latest Kirin 970 flagship chip with AI capabilities.  The chip was even paired with a 6GB of RAM. Despite the topnotch design and powerful specs lineup, the V10 came in at a cheap price starting at $400.

For a Kirin 970 smartphone to sell for $400, some may think that the smartphone may not be as powerful as the Mate 10 models which first utilize the flagship chip. Well, that isn’t the case as AnTuTu has released its benchmark score for the Kirin 970-powered Honor V10 and it is a marvel. The V10 scored 165587 points on AnTuTu which is in the same range with the Mate 10 Pro. The Mate 10 Pro’s AnTuTu score was revealed a few weeks back as 173757 points.

This marvellous performance of the Honor V10 is no doubt spurred by the Kirin 970 chip the device packs. Kirin 970 SoC is a 10nm chipset that is integrated with an exclusive Neural Processing Unit (NPU) for handling AI capabilities. The beasty Kirin 970 powers the recently introduced Mate 10 series smartphones. The AnTuTu benchmarks of Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro that have surfaced recently also indicate that the performance of the Kirin 970 is at par with Snapdragon 835. But then, you now have the same top-flying model in the mid-range segment. We can say this is a flagship model with a pocket-friendly price tag. Huawei really got it right this time around and we see the V10 braking sales records globally soon. Huawei continued its strong outing this year with the launch of the Mate 10 Pro and the standard Mate 10. Both models were unveiled alongside the Mate 10 Porsche design on October 16 in Germany. Coming out at a time the highly publicized Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and Apple iPhone X were launched, the Mate 10 Pro has shown that it has what it takes to standard shoulder-to-shoulder with the duo.

Huawei has now revealed that the Mate 10 Pro has emerged as its fastest-selling smartphone in Western Europe. Huawei said this in an official statement revealed that the device surpassed all previous records for its pre-orders in Western Europe. Also, that the Mate 10 Pro exceeded internal sales targets for pre-order by over 100%. However, the tech giant failed to disclose exactly how many pre-orders were taken for the device.

The Huawei Mate 10 Pro is considered as one of the premium, top class bezel-less smartphones around. Honor will be holding a launch event on Dec. 5 in London. The Chinese firm is expected to debut the Honor V10 flagship phone through the upcoming launch event. Fresh information claims that the Honor V10 will be first announced in China on Nov. 28 before getting unveiled in London.

In the previous month, the Honor V10 had received 3C approval in China which suggested that the smartphone would be arriving soon in the country. The rumor mill has already leaked the key specs of the Honor V10 smartphone.

As far as the design of the smartphone is concerned, it is expected to appear very similar to the Mate 10 Pro flagship phone. Leaked information suggests that its body will be more rounded than the Mate 10 Pro. Also, it is expected to feature a display manufactured by the China-based BOE Technology firm.

Recent reports have revealed that the Honor V10 will be coming with a 6-inch display that would be carrying support for an aspect ratio of 18:9. The AI driven Kirin 970 chipset is speculated to power the smartphone. Its 6 GB RAM variant is expected to feature 64 GB of storage whereas the 8 GB RAM variant may include 128 GB of storage. Android 8.0 Oreo is speculated to come preloaded on the smartphone.

The exact size of the battery that will fuel the Honor V10 is not known. However, it is pegged to carry support for 22W fast charge. The rear side of the phone may house a 16-megapixel + 20-megapixel dual camera system, albeit Leica branding found Mate 10 series. There is no information available on the selfie camera of the phone. As far as pricing is concerned, the Honor V10 is likely to cost around 3,000 Yuan (~$450).

Huawei‘s latest flagship Mate 10 Pro and Mate 10 Pro Porsche Design is expected to officially go on sale from November 15. The Mate 10 Pro is expected to perform marvellously well when it becomes available, as a result of the topnotch design the device features. Unlike the Mate 10, the Mate 10 Pro sports a standard 18:9 full-screen design. The device also features a 6-inch OLED display with 2160 x 1080 resolution.

The Mate 10 Pro and its siblings also pack Huawei’s latest Hisilicon 970 chip, as well as a dual camera setup with the Leica branding. The outward appearance also includes a glass body as well as an IP67 waterproof body. The Mate 10 Pro also does not have a 3.5mm audio jack instead you get a USB-C port for audio and charging. It is available in 6GB + 64GB version, as well as 6GB + 128GB.

Huawei Mate 10 Pro has been revealed to have a DXOMark test score of 97 points, one point behind Google Pixel 2. As it stands, the Pixel 2 remains the highest rated phone camera according to DXOMark’s rating where it got a score of 98. This score shows that the Mate 10 Pro has the potential of being an outstanding smartphone for photography enthusiasts.

The Mate 10 Pro comes with an attractive design which includes a dual camera setup at the rear with the Leica badge. The rear cameras are a combination of a 12MP RGB sensor with a 20MP Monochrome sensor. This is a familiar setup which was used on the Mate 9 last year. The two sensors have f/1.6 apertures apiece with Leica optics. The camera also supports two times lossless zoom, phase detection autofocus (PDAF) and laser autofocus.

The summary of the DXOMark test shows that the Mate 10 Pro’s camera performed better in still photography than in the video aspect. The Mate 10 Pro recorded a sub-score of 100 points in the aspect of photos which matches the photo sub-score of the Galaxy Note 8. The key attributes which give the Mate 10 Pro camera its outstanding rating include its good exposures, particularly in indoor conditions; a very good wide aperture mode, which produces a mild, but attractive bokeh effect with few artefacts; and outstanding autofocus performance. Today, at a press event, Huawei has announced the launch of its Mate 10 smartphone series in China. The company has launched three smartphones — Huawei Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro and Mate 10 Porsche Edition.

The Mate 10 series phones come in a metal body with thin bezels. The Mate 10 comes with a 5.9-inch display with screen resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, with a 16:9 aspect ratio, while the Mate 10 Pro features a 6-inch FHD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio.

Interestingly, in China, Mate 10 comes in two variants — 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM and 128GB. Earlier, the company had announced just one model, with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. This could mean that the 6GB RAM variant of Mate 10 is China-exclusive but there is no confirmation yet regarding this.

The Huawei Mate 10 Pro comes with 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM and 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM variants. While the Mate 10 has a fingerprint sensor on the front, incorporated in the home button, Mate 10 Pro features fingerprint sensor at the back.

Both the smartphones are powered by the company’s own Kirin 970 processor and a 4,000mAh battery which also supports SuperCharge fast charging. The devices run on Android Oreo-based EMUI 8.0.

Huawei has partnered with Leica for the cameras. The smartphones come with 12MP RGB + 20MP monochrome sensors at the back. It has 4-in-1 hybrid focus, hybrid zoom, and OIS. There is also an 8MP F/2.2 front-facing camera sensor.

Interestingly, the pricing for the Mate 10 series is cheaper than its pricing in the European market. In China, the Huawei Mate 10 is priced at 3,899 Yuan for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage version while the 6GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage model costs 4,499 Yuan. It will be available in four color options — Black, Brown, Gold and Pink.

On the other hand, the Pro edition with 6GB RAM + 64GB internal storage is priced at 4,899 Yuan and the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant costs 5,399 Yuan. It will be available in Blue, Brown and Grey colors.

The Huawei Mate 10 Porsche Edition, which comes with 6GB RAM and 256GB internal storage, is priced at 8,999 Yuan and will be available in Black color.

While the Mate 10 will go on sale from today, the other two models will go on sale from 15th November. The smartphones will be available for purchase from the official Huawei store and other authorised resellers.

Huawei has just unveiled the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro in Munich, Germany and I’ve been using those phones ever since. These are one of the best-looking phones on the market and they offer bleeding edge specs and much more. Learn more in our Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro early review.

VIDEO REVIEW

DESIGN

Both Mates look just gorgeous as they use a quality metal frame and glass on the front and rear. The phones look really nice in the hand despite their huge footprint.

They Mate 10 has a smaller 5.9” 2k resolution LCD display that has a traditional 16:9 aspect ratio, meaning that it is wider but it is a bit shorter than the Mate 10 Pro.

The latter phone has a larger 6” AMOLED display with 18:9 aspect ratio but it has only 1080p resolution. In practice, I found both displays to be plenty sharp for everyday use but I prefer the AMOLED panel on the Mate 10 Pro.

I found both fingerprint scanners to be very fast and accurate. The Mate 10 has one on the front while the Mate 10 Pro has it on the back.

Both phones have 4000mAh batteries that so far have been performing well.

The Mate 10 has a microSD card slot whereas the Mate 10 Pro lacks this feature. Also, it does not have the headset jack like a regular Mate 10 but it has more storage and RAM memory (6GB/ 128GB vs 4GB/64GB). Both phones have the same powerful Kirin 970 chipset.

Another area where the Mate 10 Pro excels over the Mate 10 is the IP67 certification for water and dust resistance.

CAMERAS

The new accent stripe looks really nice in practice. There is an upgraded camera setup too. Both phones have identical cameras.  A 12-megapixel RGB camera is paired with a 20-megapixel monochrome sensor here, and both lenses feature apertures of up to f/1.6.

That camera takes really good pictures in daylight but keep in mind that the device runs on the pre-release software. In fact, I have an advanced release review unit meaning that both the device and software may differ when it is made available to consumers.

There are manual, 2x optical zoom and portrait modes that take pretty good pictures but more on the image quality in the full review.

PERFORMANCE

The phone is really fast and responsive but obviously, I haven’t installed many apps like I always do and I have to spend a little more time with the device.

The Mate 10 and the 10 Pro ship with Android 8 out of the box but it has the EMUI skin built on top of it. As usual to Huawei phones, there are plenty of features and customization options to make the phone look your own.

FEATURES

The new Mate 10 phones sport the first Huawei chipset with a neural processing unit or AI component of the processor, which learns how you use the phone and helps the DEVICE adapt to assure the best user experie3nce. For example, the AI chip detects what kind of picture you take to apply the best image settings. Also, it helps apply the right amount of blurring effect in the portrait mode.

Obviously, the AI component does a lot more than helping you take better pictures. For example, it learns how you use the phone to make it faster by allocating the resources to the specific task. So far, Microsoft has updated its Translator app to make use of the AI chipset to speed up the translation process. I will cover the AI capabilities of this phone in detail in my full review.

EARLY VERDICT

The Mate 10 will cost €699 and the Mate 10 Pro will cost €799, which puts the phones in the flagship price category. The Pro model will be released in Europe, the US, and some other markets while the regular Mate 10 will be released in other regions.

VIDEO REVIEW

DESIGN and DISPLAY

If I was just a mainstream consumer, the key selling point for me would be the design of the Mate 10 Pro. It combines metal and glass and a 6” 1080p display with very thin bezels. The panel itself is just gorgeous despite the fact that it does not have 2k resolution. The phone just looks and feels premium and it sits nicely in the hand despite its huge footprint.

The new accent stripe looks really nice in practice. There is an upgraded camera setup too. A 12-megapixel RGB camera is paired with a 20-megapixel monochrome sensor here, and both lenses feature apertures of up to f/1.6.

CAMERAS

That camera takes really good pictures in daylight but keep in mind that the device runs on the pre-release software. In fact, I have an advanced release review unit meaning that both the device and software may differ when it is made available to consumers. There are manual, 2x optical zoom and portrait modes that take pretty good pictures but more on the image quality in the full review. The 4k video looks quite sharp and detailed.

FEATURES

The new Mate 10 phones sport the first Huawei chipset with a neural processing unit or AI component of the processor, which learns how you use the phone and helps the DEVICE adapt to assure the best user experie3nce. For example, the AI chip detects what kind of picture you take to apply the best image settings. Also, it helps apply the right amount of blurring effect in the portrait mode.

Obviously, the AI component does a lot more than helping you take better pictures. For example, it learns how you use the phone to make it faster by allocating the resources to the specific task. So far, Microsoft has updated its Translator app to make use of the AI chipset to speed up the translation process. I will cover the AI capabilities of this phone in detail in my full review.

Now a few features in a nutshell: the Mate 10 Pro is water and dust resistant thanks to IP67 certification but it lacks the headset jack, so you would need to use a supplied adapter for traditional headphones.

I found the fingerprint scanner to be blazing fast and accurate. A beefy 4000mAh battery will easily get you through the day or more. There is a fast charging tech on board that charges the battery up to 58% in 30 mins. However, the phone does not have wireless charging.

HARDWARE

As for hardware, the Huawei Mate 10 Pro is one of the most powerful phones you can get. The phone ships with an octa-core Hisilicon Kirin 970 chipset, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, which is not expandable.

The phone is really fast and responsive but obviously, I haven’t installed many apps like I always do and I have to spend a little more time with the device.

The Mate 10 Pro ships with Android 8 out of the box but it has the EMUI skin built on top of it. As usual to Huawei phones, there are plenty of features and customization options to make the phone look your own.

The Mate 10 Pro will cost €799, which puts the phone in the flagship price category. It will be released in Europe, the US and some other markets.

Overall, the Huawei Mate 10 Pro shapes up to be quite an impressive all-around device. It packs great hardware including a dedicated AI chip, a compelling dual-camera setup and much more that I will cover in our full review.

Huawei has taken the wraps of its new flagships – the Mate 10 and the Mate 10 Pro. The new phones have been in the news a lot lately but have now been announced at an event in Munich Germany.

Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro Design

The Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro surprisingly both come with FullView Displays. However both phones are not similar in looks. While the Mate 10 comes with a 5.9” display like the Mate 9, its bezels are slightly larger than that of  the Mate 10 Pro.

The Mate 10’s bezels measure 9.6mm thick at the top and 10.6mm at the bottom compared to the Pro’s 8.4mm and 9.2mm thickness. However, the Mate 10 has thinner side bezels.

The slightly thicker bezels of the Mate 10 results in the phone having its fingerprint scanner in front instead of below the dual rear cameras like the Mate 10 Pro. Save for the dual position of the fingerprint scanner, both the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro have a similar rear design.

Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro Specs

The Mate 10 has a 5.9-inch 2K (2560 x 1440) display with a 16:9 aspect ratio and 730 nits of brightness. The display has also been optimized for sunlight visibility. Rather than it being a RGB screen, Huawei says its a RGBW screen which uses the extra white color to achieve better visibility under intense sunlight while still saving power.

There is 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. It has a 3.5mm audio jack and a MicroSD card for storage expansion. It also has an IP53 rating which makes it dust resistant and spill-proof.

The Mate 10 Pro on the other hand has a 6” FHD+ (2160 x 1080 ) resolution and an 18:9 aspect ratio. Even with the large screen, the Mate 10 Pro has the body of a 5.5-inch phone. Huawei says the display has a 70,000:1 high contrast and 112% NTSC color saturation.

It comes in 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM and 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM variants. It has an IP67 rating and comes with Cat.18 LTE unlike the Mate 10 which has a Cat. 16 modem. Sadly, it ditches the audio jack and doesn’t have a MicroSD expansion slot. It however comes with a pair of USB-C earphones and a a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter.

Both the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro come with NFC, Bluetooth 4.2 and a 4,000mAh battery . Huawei claims battery life has a 30% improvement over that of the Mate 9. There is also Superfast Charge allowing you to charge up to 58% in just 30 minutes.

Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro Camera

Once again, Huawei has partnered with Leica on the cameras. The configuration is still 12MP RGB + 20MP monochrome sensors. However, it now features dual F/1.6 and SUMMILUX-H lens. There is 4-in-1 hybrid focus, hybrid zoom, and OIS.

The Mate 10 comes with a dedicated NPU chip for AI tasks. The cameras take advantage of the AI capabilities of the phone to recognize what the object/scene is. There are 13 different object and scene recognition modes including pets, sunset, portrait, flower, food, and text which help improve the outcome of your pictures.

The front camera is an 8MP F/2.2 sensor which takes wonderful selfies.

EMUI 8.0

Just as earlier rumored, Huawei has made the jump from EMUI 5.1 to EMUI 8.0. The new UI is based on Android 8.0 Oreo making the Mate 10 series the first non-pixel device to come with Android Oreo out of the box. We believe that the jump to EMUI 8.0 is so that the version number syncs with that of the Android OS.

Some of the features of the EMUI 8.0 is dynamic wallpaper which changes as the day goes by, smart multi-column display, split screen multitasking, and instant offline translation.

Easy Projection (Desktop Mode)

One of the new features that comes with EMUI 8.0 is a desktop mode. Unlike other manufacturers that use a dock, the Mate 10/Mate 10 Pro connects to an external display with the aid of a USB Type-C to HDMI cable thanks to its USB 3.1 support.

Once you connect to an external display, it takes a few seconds for the desktop mode to show up. You can decide to connect a Bluetooth keyboard or mouse or use the phone itself which can double as a touchpad and an on-screen keyboard.

Some of the features of Huawei’s desktop mode is a start menu, resizeable windows, and a system tray that shows incoming notifications.

Mate 10 Friends

Huawei also unveiled a number of accessories for the Mate 10 phones. There is a SuperCharge car charger, a SuperCharge Power Bank with support for 4.5V/5A low voltage fast charge, EnVizion 360° camera and a smart scale.

Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro Availability

The Mate 10 is available in Champagne Gold, Mocha Brown, Pink Gold, and Black. The Mate 10 Pro comes in Mocha Brown, Midnight Blue, Titanium Gray, and pink Gold.

The Mate 10 will cost €699 and will be available in October while the Mate 10 Pro (6GB/128GB model) will sell for €799 and will be available in mid-November. US Pricing will be revealed later.

Huawei is all set to launch its Mate 10 smartphone series on October 16. A couple of days ago, the promotional posters of the Huawei Mate 10 Pro got leaked and now Evan Blass has posted press renders of the same.

Evan posted a render of the Mate 10 Pro in Black colour, which shows the phone’s front panel as well as the back panel. Apart from Huawei branding, there is a dual camera setup at the back with Leica branding and a fingerprint sensor just below it. On the front, it features a bezel-less full-screen display.

In the latest render that Even Blass posted on Twitter, the smartphone is showcased in Blue colour. However, the interesting part is that the phone is shown next to a stylus pen drawing something on a notebook. The stylus pen and the notebook appears to be Moleskine’s Smart Writing Set.

This could mean that Huawei has entered into a partnership with Moleskine for some kind of promotional bundle with Mate 10 Pro. However, we are not sure about it and this is just a speculation.

It’s unlikely that the company would include such accessory to be bundled with the Mate 10 Pro at no extra cost, but expect some sort of a combo discount.

The Smart Writing Set consists of three objects — Paper Tablet notebook, Smart Pen+, and a companion app. It enables users to digitally edit and share whatever user creates on paper in real-time without taking a photo, uploading files, or scanning documents.

As the launch of Huawei’s Mate 10 series of smartphones is drawing near, more leaks related to its devices are surfacing online. Just after we reported about the leak of Huawei Mate 10’s specifications earlier today, the promotional poster of its bigger sibling — Huawei Mate 10 Pro has been leaked.

The poster, which appears to have been shot from a display board of a shop, shows the back panel of the upcoming smartphone in Rose Gold colour.

So far, through leaks and rumours, we know that the Huawei Mate 10 Pro will come with a metal build, which is speculated to be an unibody design.

Earlier, it was reported that the Mate 10 Pro will feature an “EntireView” QHD display with screen resolution of 1440 x 2180 pixels. However, the recent development suggests that it won’t feature QHD display. Instead, the phone will have a Full HD 1080p display.

If it does come with a Full HD display, the device will be a downgrade, at least in terms of display technology, as its predecessor — Mate 9 Pro came with a QHD display.

The phone will have a near bezel-less display with 18:9 ratio. It also seems that the phone will come with a dual camera setup on the back, with Leica branding. While one lens will be of 20-megapixel, the other one will be of 23-megapixel.

Huawei Mate 10 Pro’s renders have been a regular in leaks of late and one thing they all have in common is a similarity in the design. We have even seen leaked real photos of the Mate 10 Pro with a design similar to the first Mate 10 Pro renders which were shared by Twitter tipster Evan Blass recently. Now, a new set of renders have appeared online, shared by Weibo user iChangezone who is well known for accurate renders of Huawei’s flagships right from last year’s Mate 9.

The new renders are replicas of those shared by Twitter tipster Evan Blass recently and with the pedigree of the Weibo source, we could as well take it that this is the Mate 10 Pro’s final design. The Mate 10 Pro features a curved edge design at the rear just like the Mate 9 Pro. We could be looking at a glass back on the device. At the front, the device will have almost bezel-less, full-screen display with ultra-slim bezels on the chin. The top and bottom bezels are also much reduced. The renders also show the presence of dual cameras at the rear with the Leica badge which is turning into a regular on Huawei’s flagship products. Of course, the dual cameras co-engineered by Leica have turned out to be one of the prominent features on Huawei phones. There is also a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor onboard the smartphone.

It is no longer news that Huawei will launch the Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro and a couple of other models in the Mate series on October 16. The launch date is still some days away but the Mate 10 devices continue to simmer in and out of leaks. From the leaked renders we have seen so far, we can gather that the Mate 10 Pro will be the deal breaker with a full-screen, bezel-less design. The Mate 10 Pro’s first renders were shared by Twitter tipster Evan Blass recently. Habeeb thinks the render looks gorgeous and he isn’t alone with that thought. Well, if you are in doubt if that is really the Mate 10 Pro’s render, here are a couple of real photos said to be those of the Mte 10 Pro and what better word apart from gorgeous can we use to describe the device?

The Mate 10 Pro seems to continue from where the Mate 9 Pro left off, with its stunning and exceptional design. This time around, instead of a curved edge design like the Mate 9 Pro, the Mate 10 Pro follows the latest flagship trend which is a full-screen design that is nearly bezel-less. It is noteworthy that the leaked photos looked very much similar to the renders leaked by Evan Blass. Just that the back panel on the real photo looks like it is glossier, perhaps made of glass just like the Huawei P10.

Come October 16, Huawei will announce four new devices in the mate series – the Mate 10, Mate 10 Lite (Maimang 6/Nova 2i), the Mate 10 Pro, and the Mate 10 Porsche Edition.

We already know what the Mate 10 Lite will look like and we have seen leaks of the front panel of the Mate 10 Pro. We also saw alleged images of the rear a few days ago. This morning, Evan Blass (@evleaks) decided to share with us official renders of the Mate 10 Pro and we are awed by the design.

The Mate 10 Pro is a gorgeous smartphone and the design screams class. The front is occupied mainly by the EntireView display, with a front facing camera and earpiece on the top bezel, and the Huawei branding at the bottom. Huawei also teases the AI capabilities of its Kirin 970 chip by using a wallpaper that reads “AI”.

The back is where the action is. Huawei has settled for a two-tone design for the rear. The area occupied by the dual rear cameras has a lighter shade than the rest of the body.

The cameras are stacked vertically on top of each other but do not share a single housing like the Mate 9. Flanking the sensors on the right is a laser focus module, and on the left should be the LED flash though we can’t see it. Zoom in and you can make out the words LEICA on the left and even f/1.6 on the right.

There is a fingerprint scanner directly below the cameras and at the bottom of the phone is the Huawei name. The image reveals the Mate 10 Pro will be available in black, blue, and coffee brown.

Huawei’s upcoming Mate 10 flagship was leaked yesterday showing us the design it would adorn on launch day billed for October 16. The design showed the Mate 10 would have a full-screen design but with a considerable amount of bezels and a physical home button. The Mate 10 Pro was said to be the bezel-less model between the duo and would be launched alongside the Mate 10.

It might interest you to know that a couple of fresh leaks bothering on the Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro’s display panels, specifications and price tag have appeared online. The screen for the two smartphones is pictured above and shows the Mate 10 will have the same height as the Mate 10 Pro but the Mate 10 Pro will be slightly wider. A front home key on the Mate 10 and wider bezels at the top and bottom edges differentiate the two from each other.

The leaker who leaked the display also shared the specifications and prices of the Huawei Mate 10 and Mate 10 Pro. The Mate 10 is expected with a 5.99-inch 2k EntireView display with 18:9 aspect ratio and is listed with a 4200mAh battery with fast charging support. The Mate 10 will come in three variants with 4GB RAM and 6GB RAM. The variant having a 4GB + 64GB storage combo will clutch a price tag of 4299 Yuan ($650). Secondly, the version with 6GB RAM + 128GB storage will go up for 4899 Yuan ($744) while the topmost model will have a 6GB + 256GB combo and would retail for 5599 Yuan ($850).

On the other hand, the Mate 10 Pro will feature a 6.0-inch 2K display with a similar 18:9 aspect ratio. Just like the Mate 10, it will have an IP67 certification and of course would be powered by a Kirin 970 chip, same as the Mate 10. It would pack a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, curved edges and almost 90% screen-to-body ratio. The Mate 10 Pro will also get its juice from a 4,200mAH battery. Talking about the prices, the leaked data shows the Mate 10 Pro will come in four variants: 6 GB + 64 GB priced at 5,499 Yuan ($835), 6 GB + 128 GB with a price tag of 6,199 Yuan ($941), 6 GB + 256 GB for 6,899 Yuan ($1,042) and a topmost version having a monstrous 8 GB + 256 GB combo which would retail for 7,499 Yuan ($1,138). So, Huawei will be joining Apple and Samsung on the list of OEMs with smartphones priced above $1,000.
