Last month, Huawei launched its flagship Mate 20-series of smartphones, which includes Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, and the premium phone Mate 20 RS Porsche Design.

Now, the Chinese company has officially announced that the Huawei Mate 20 RS Porsche Design smartphone will be available for purchase in China from 17th November, carrying a price tag of 12,999 Yuan, which roughly converts to $1,875.

While the Mate 20 Pro comes with a glass back, the Huawei Mate 20 RS Porsche Design comes with a premium leather back. There’s also a vertical strip of glass at the center that runs from the top to the bottom of the back panel. This glass strip houses the triple camera module and the Porsche Design branding.

Further, there’s no camera bump on the handset. The Mate 20 RS Porsche Design comes in two color options — Black and Red. The phone borrows most of its specifications from the Mate 20 Pro — the bigger sibling of the Mate 20.

The phone features a 6.39-inch QHD+ AMOLED notched display with 3120 x 1440 pixels screen resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, the device is powered by the company’s own Kirin 980 octa-core chipset with dual NPU, which is manufactured using the 7nm process.

It packs 8GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. In terms of optics, the phone comes with triple camera setup on the back, consisting of  40-megapixel + 20-megapixel + 8-megapixel camera module with Leica lens and dual-tone dual-LED flash — same as that of Mate 20 Pro.

On the front side, the smartphone has a 24-megapixel front-facing shooter with f/2.0 aperture for taking selfies and video calling. In case you don’t want to use the phone’s in-display fingerprint sensor, it also comes with support for 3D face unlock feature.

Connectivity options on the device include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac dual-band, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS with dual-band A-GPS, and USB-C 3.1 port. The phone runs EMUI 9.0 based on Android 9 Pie operating system and is powered by a 4,200mAh battery. It also supports 40W fast charging and 15W Qi wireless fast charging.
