<p>Starting this November, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei/">Huawei</a> is officially rolling out the stable release of its latest and greatest <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/harmonyos-3/">HarmonyOS 3</a> OS upgrade to the brand’s flagship device users in China. </p>

<p>According to the HarmonyOS software development team’s <a href="https://weibo.com/3514064555/MepIhcTFu">official Weibo account</a>, the stable update will be available to Huawei&#8217;s latest releases as well as the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-mate-30/">Huawei Mate 30</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-mate-30-pro-5g/">Mate 30 Pro 5G</a> smartphones, which were released 3 years ago back in 2019.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="973" height="1024" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/HarmonyOS-3-devices-thumbnail-973x1024.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-495288" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/HarmonyOS-3-devices-thumbnail-973x1024.jpg 973w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/HarmonyOS-3-devices-thumbnail-285x300.jpg 285w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/HarmonyOS-3-devices-thumbnail-768x809.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/HarmonyOS-3-devices-thumbnail-696x733.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/HarmonyOS-3-devices-thumbnail-1068x1124.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/HarmonyOS-3-devices-thumbnail-399x420.jpg 399w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/HarmonyOS-3-devices-thumbnail.jpg 1079w" sizes="(max-width: 973px) 100vw, 973px" /></figure>

<p>The full list of devices eligible to upgrade from HarmonyOS 2 to HarmonyOS 3 is as follows:</p>

<ol><li>Huawei Mate 30</li><li>Huawei Mate 30 5G</li><li>Huawei Mate 30 Pro</li><li>Huawei Mate 30 Pro 5G</li><li>Huawei Mate 30E Pro 5G</li><li>Huawei Mate 30 RS Porsche Design</li><li>Huawei Mate Xs</li><li>Huawei P40</li><li>Huawei P40 4G</li><li>Huawei P40 Pro</li><li>Huawei P40 Pro Plus</li><li>Huawei Nova 9</li><li>Huawei Nova 9 Pro</li><li>Huawei Nova 10</li><li>Huawei Nova 10 Pro</li></ol>

<p>In addition to the stable release rollout announcement, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei/">Huawei</a> also shared that it has opened applications for its public beta programme for HarmonyOS 3.0 to Huawei MatePad 10.8-inch, Huawei MatePad Pro 10.8-inch and Huawei MatePad Pro 5G 10.8-inch users, as well as an early access closed beta programme for Huawei Nova 6, Nova 6 5G, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-nova-7-5g/">Nova 7 5G</a>, and Nova 7 Pro 5G users for Huawei fans who cannot wait to experience the latest HarmonyOS 3 features before a stable release.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/HarmonyOS-3-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-495289" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/HarmonyOS-3-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/HarmonyOS-3-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/HarmonyOS-3-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/HarmonyOS-3-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/HarmonyOS-3-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/HarmonyOS-3-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/HarmonyOS-3.jpg 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>HarmonyOS 3. Source: Huawei</figcaption></figure>

<p>The new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/harmonyos-3/">HarmonyOS 3</a> upgrade brings several next-generation software updates that range from decently cool to life-changing. One particular highlight is that in HarmonyOS 3, HarmonyOS devices don’t need to be on a shared Wi-Fi network for seamless interconnectivity to work, the devices can now sense each other. One example is a Huawei tablet next to a Huawei phone will be able to let you answer calls and will display SMS messages as if they were the same device.</p>

<p>Now, the company has revealed that it managed to sell 100 million units of the smartphones per minute during the sale, which lasted from 10:08 AM till 10:15 AM.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-287020 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/mate-30-5g-china-sale.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei Mate 30 5G China Sale" width="690" height="1285" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/mate-30-5g-china-sale.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/mate-30-5g-china-sale-161x300.jpg 161w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/mate-30-5g-china-sale-550x1024.jpg 550w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/11/mate-30-5g-china-sale-226x420.jpg 226w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-mate-30-5g/">Mate 30 5G</a> comes in two variants based on memory configuration – 8GB + 125GB version with a ¥4999 (~$706) price and the 8GB + 256GB version priced at ¥5499 (~$777). On the other hand, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-mate-30-pro-5g/">Mate 30 Pro 5G</a> 8GB + 256GB version is priced at ¥6899 (~$975) while the 8GB RAM + 512GB version is priced at ¥7899 (~$1116).</p>
<p>Both the smartphones are powered by the company’s own <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/kirin-990-5G" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Kirin 990 5G</a> 7nm + EUV processor. It not only has a built-in 5G modem but its NPU chip also has two big cores and one small core while the regular Kirin 990 has one big core and one small core. Its cores are also clocked higher than the standard variant.</p>
<p>Further, both the devices have a total of 21 antennas each where 14 are for 5G, more than double the 6-antenna design of other 5G phones. Both 5G phones come in Vegan Leather Orange and Vegan Leather Forest Green color options.</p>
<h6 class="related"><strong>EDITOR&#8217;S PICK: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/10/31/huawei-is-rolling-out-emui-10-open-beta-to-8-devices-internationally-including-mate-20-series/">Huawei is rolling out EMUI 10 open beta to 8 devices internationally, including Mate 20 series</a></strong></h6>
<p>The Huawei Mate 30 series is apparently <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/10/01/the-huawei-mate-30-and-mate-30-pro-are-selling-unbelievably-well-in-china/">doing extremely well in its home country</a>. At the start of this month, it was reported that the company has already sold over a million units of the Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro since the phones went on sale in China on September 26. This is pretty impressive considering they achieved it in less than a week, and that’s not even the end of it.</p>
<p>Apparently, Huawei managed to reach this goal in the span of a three hours, as Richard Yu made the announcement during the opening of a Huawei flagship store in Shenzhen. Including the online orders, Huawei was bringing in CNY 500 million a minute, implying a rate of 100,000 sales per minute. Now those are some pretty big numbers.</p>
<p>It’s noteworthy that the Mate 30 series comes without support for <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/google">Google</a> apps and services. While it may be a big deal in other markets, it isn’t so in China where most Android phones don’t come pre-installed with Google Play Services.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-277396 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Huawei-Mate-30-Pro-is-official-amazing-cameras-5G-support-but-no-Google-apps.jpg?x44794" alt="" width="940" height="627" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Huawei-Mate-30-Pro-is-official-amazing-cameras-5G-support-but-no-Google-apps.jpg 940w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Huawei-Mate-30-Pro-is-official-amazing-cameras-5G-support-but-no-Google-apps-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Huawei-Mate-30-Pro-is-official-amazing-cameras-5G-support-but-no-Google-apps-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Huawei-Mate-30-Pro-is-official-amazing-cameras-5G-support-but-no-Google-apps-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Huawei-Mate-30-Pro-is-official-amazing-cameras-5G-support-but-no-Google-apps-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 940px) 100vw, 940px" /></p>
<p>Despite the ban on Huawei from the United States, the company&#8217;s flagship devices are doing pretty well. Last week, He Gang, President of Huawei’s Consumer Business and Mobile Product Line said that the sale of flagship <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei">Huawei</a> Mate 30 series is expected to reach 10 million units by the end of this year, before the Spring Festival.</p>
<p>Additionally, he has also revealed that the company’s total smartphone shipments are expected to be around 240-250 million for the current year. However, the company has revealed anything related to the sales forecast of the Huawei Mate X smartphone. He said that at this stage, the company is hoping to learn and understand the customer experience with the foldable smartphones.</p>

It not only has a built-in 5G modem but its NPU chip also has two big cores and one small core while the regular Kirin 990 has one big core and one small core.
<p>It&#8217;s noteworthy that the Mate 30 series comes without support for <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/google">Google</a> apps and services. While it may be a big deal in other markets, it isn&#8217;t so in China where most Android phones don’t come pre-installed with Google Play Services.</p>

The <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/huawei">Huawei</a> official China website already has the phones listed in addition to some official cases which we haven&#8217;t seen before.</p>
<p>Huawei has made a variety of cases for the Mate 30 series and they are available in multiple colors to suit your style and mood. Below are the various cases available for the phones:</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-278700" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mate-30-Silicone-Case.png?x44794" alt="Mate 30 series Silicone Case" width="1077" height="481" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mate-30-Silicone-Case.png 1077w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mate-30-Silicone-Case-300x134.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mate-30-Silicone-Case-768x343.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mate-30-Silicone-Case-1024x457.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mate-30-Silicone-Case-696x311.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mate-30-Silicone-Case-1068x477.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mate-30-Silicone-Case-940x420.png 940w" sizes="(max-width: 1077px) 100vw, 1077px" /></p>
<p><strong>Silicon Case</strong></p>
<p>The silicon case is made using a new liquid silicon process. It is skin-friendly and soft and has a microfiber lining inside. There is extra protection at the four corners of the case. Huawei says it is even washable. The silicone case is available in seven colors: black, dark blue, smoky blue, grapefruit red, coral orange and lemon yellow.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-278701" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mate-30-Wallet-Case.png?x44794" alt="Mate 30 Wallet Case" width="563" height="585" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mate-30-Wallet-Case.png 563w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mate-30-Wallet-Case-289x300.png 289w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mate-30-Wallet-Case-404x420.png 404w" sizes="(max-width: 563px) 100vw, 563px" /></p>
<p><strong>Wallet Flip Case</strong></p>
<p>The wallet case is made from environmentally-friendly PU material which Huawei claims is wear-resistant and scratch-resistant. It also provides protection at the four corners. The case has two sleeve pockets for debit/credit cards or bus cards. It is available in Khaki and Black.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-278699" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mate-30-transparent-protective-case.png?x44794" alt="Mate 30 series transparent protective case" width="693" height="455" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mate-30-transparent-protective-case.png 693w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mate-30-transparent-protective-case-300x197.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mate-30-transparent-protective-case-640x420.png 640w" sizes="(max-width: 693px) 100vw, 693px" /></p>
<p><strong>Transparent Protective Case</strong></p>
<p>The transparent protective case is for those who do not want to hide the design of their phone. The transparent case is light and slim and Huawei says it is made from a special material that doesn&#8217;t change color easily.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-278698" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mate-30-leather-case.png?x44794" alt="Mate 30 series leather case" width="435" height="626" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mate-30-leather-case.png 435w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mate-30-leather-case-208x300.png 208w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mate-30-leather-case-292x420.png 292w" sizes="(max-width: 435px) 100vw, 435px" /></p>
<p><strong>Leather Case</strong></p>
<p>The Mate 30 series will also have a leather (non-flip) case. One appears to be made of linen while the other imitates the design of carbon fiber. Huawei says both provide a comfortable grip.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-278697" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mate-30-Travel-Case.png?x44794" alt="Mate 30 series Travel Case" width="531" height="646" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mate-30-Travel-Case.png 531w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mate-30-Travel-Case-247x300.png 247w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mate-30-Travel-Case-345x420.png 345w" sizes="(max-width: 531px) 100vw, 531px" /></p>
<p><strong>Travel Theme Case</strong></p>
<p>The travel theme case is made from a PU material with a 3D textured design. It is available in two variants &#8211; Munich and Beijing. This case will also work with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-mate-30-5g/">Mate 30 5G</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-mate-30-pro-5g/">Mate 30 Pro 5G</a>.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-278702" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mate-30-Smart-Window-Case.png?x44794" alt="Mate 30 Smart Window Case" width="556" height="579" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mate-30-Smart-Window-Case.png 556w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mate-30-Smart-Window-Case-288x300.png 288w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mate-30-Smart-Window-Case-403x420.png 403w" sizes="(max-width: 556px) 100vw, 556px" /></p>

<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-278706" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mate-30-Fashion-Textured-Case.png?x44794" alt="Mate 30 series Fashion Textured Case" width="595" height="672" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mate-30-Fashion-Textured-Case.png 595w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mate-30-Fashion-Textured-Case-266x300.png 266w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Mate-30-Fashion-Textured-Case-372x420.png 372w" sizes="(max-width: 595px) 100vw, 595px" /></p>
<p><strong>Fashion Textured Case</strong></p>
<p>The fashion textured case is also made from a PU material with a 3D embossing. Huawei says it was designed in collaboration with a French Designer. Like the travel case, this will also be compatible with the Mate 30 5G and Mate 30 Pro 5G. It is available in Orange and Green.</p>
<p>Huawei hasn&#8217;t revealed the price for any of the cases. Once they do, we will update the post</p>

<p>While the official cases are actually cool and stylish, its the third-party cases (above) that we are most excited about as they find innovative and funny ways to use the Mate 30 series&#8217; halo ring camera design. Photos of these third-party cases have surfaced on Weibo and we absolutely adore them.</p>

<p>The Huawei <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei-mate-30">Mate 30</a> series is in the pipeline and as per the reports, the company is all set to launch the Huawei Mate 30 5G smartphone by the end of this year, but it&#8217;s likely to go official in December 2019.</p>

<p>As per the reports, Huawei shared some information about the upcoming smartphones from the company at a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/5g">5G</a> conference in Russia. It reportedly showed a slide which mentioned that the Mate 30 5G is all set to launch in December this year.</p>
<p>While it could be that the timeline for the Mate 30 5G launch in December is for the Russian market but this confirms that the phone will go official this year. We expect the 4G variant as well as other Mate 30 series phones to get launched a bit earlier, somewhere around October or November.</p>
<p>Once launch, it could be the Chinese tech giant&#8217;s third 5G smartphone to get launched this year. Earlier this year, the company launched <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-mate-x/">Huawei Mate X</a>, which is its first 5G as well as first foldable smartphone and is set to go on sale in September. Later, the company launched <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-mate-20-x-5g/">Huawei Mate 20 X 5G</a>, its first non-foldable smartphone with 5G support.</p>
