Daisy was surprised that the phone still worked. “It’s still so smooth and responsive,” she said in the video. “Huawei is really amazing. I’ll only buy Huawei phones from now on.” Daisy later posted a follow-up video showing that she had taken her phone to a Huawei service center. The phone was repaired in just one hour and was returned to her in perfect condition.

According to Daisy, the phone was repaired for just 1,308 Yuan. The repair involved replacing the battery, screen, and frame.Daisy’s story has gone viral on social media, with many people praising Huawei for the phone’s durability. Huawei is all set to launch its upcoming flagship lineup P60 series on March 23. Now the company has announced a price drop on its current flagship smartphone lineup which was launched last year, the Mate 50 series. This move is part of the 11th Vmall anniversary celebrations and will see the prices of the new devices drop by up to 300 yuan ($43 USD) for consumers in China.

The Huawei Mate 50 series comprises three models, the Mate 50, Mate 50 Pro, and Mate 50E. After the price reduction, the Huawei Mate 50 will start at 4799 yuan, with a maximum discount of 200 yuan. The price of the Huawei Mate 50 Pro will start at 6,499 yuan with a direct drop of 300 yuan. The Huawei Mate 50E will also receive a 200 yuan discount, bringing its direct price down to 3799 yuan.

Let’s take a closer look at each of these models. The Huawei Mate 50 boasts a 6.7-inch 90Hz FHD+ OLED display with a resolution of 2700×1224. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and comes with a 13 MP selfie camera and triple rear cameras, including a 50 MP pixel ultra-variable camera (f/1.4 – f/4.0 aperture), a 13 MP pixel super wide-angle Camera (f/2.2 aperture), and a 12 MP periscope telephoto camera (f/3.4 aperture, OIS). Under the hood, the device has a 4460mAh battery, which can be recharged with a 66W wired and 50W wireless charger.

Moving on to the Mate 50 Pro, this device features a 6.74-inch 120 Hz FHD+ OLED display with a resolution of 2616×1212. It is also powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and comes with a big-notch front-facing camera system that includes a 13MP selfie camera and a 3D depth-sensing camera. The display has curved edges on both sides. On the back, the phone features a 50MP ultra-variable camera (f/1.4 – f/4.0 aperture, OIS optical image stabilization), a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera (f/2.2 aperture), and a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto camera (f/3.5 aperture, OIS). Recently, the Chinese tech giant Huawei introduced its Kunlun glass technology, which it claims is “unbreakable.” Now, the durability of the Huawei Mate 50 Pro, the first phone to use this technology, has been put to the test. How did Huawei’s “unbreakable” Kunlun glass perform in a concrete drop test?

Huawei Mate 50 Pro has received a lot of attention for its Kunlun glass. The company claims Kunlun is “unbreakable” due to its unique manufacturing process. The glass reportedly handles impacts ten times better than other smartphone glasses and has been given a five-star rating by SGS certification company. But how does it perform in a real-world scenario?

A YouTube channel calls “PBK Reviews” put Huawei Mate 50 with Kunlun glass a drop test to see phones durability. The first drop was from waist-high on the phone’s AMOLED display, resulting in some scrapes on the corners and sides of the frame. However, the glass held up well. On another attempt to drop the phone on the screen from head-high, the glass did touch the concrete, but there was no damage to the display.

The fourth and final drop was a waist-high fall on the phone’s back, resulting in a hairline crack on the front glass. Overall, the Kunlun glass held up well during the drop test, but it wouldn’t be right to say that the screen is unbreakable. Still Kunlun is much more successful than Gorilla Glass Victus 2. For example, Victus 2 protected displays on the Galaxy S23+ and S23 Ultra. In a similar test, both phone cracked on the first drop. You can watch the videos of the tests below.

Huawei P60 series will be the next phone using Kunlun Glass

The Huawei P60 series, expected to be released next month. The phone is also to feature Kunlun glass, along with other innovations such as Huawei’s XMAGE photography system and Low battery emergency mode. Huawei’s ability to innovate and develop technologies like Kunlun glass despite the US restrictions on exports is noteworthy. However, the company still faces challenges, including the potential loss of the ability to obtain even handicapped chipsets following the Biden administration’s decision to get tougher on approving export licenses for shipments to Huawei.

Huawei’s cutting-edge technologies made their debut on China Central Television (CCTV) on January 31st. At the premiere of “The Road to Building a Strong Brand,” a documentary featuring Huawei. The documentary highlights Huawei’s breakthroughs in various areas, including the Huawei Beidou satellite messaging, Huawei Kunlun glass, XMAGE super light imaging, and Hongmeng OS.

The Huawei Mate 50 series, which features Huawei’s “unbreakable” Kunlun glass, was also highlighted in the documentary. According to Huawei Executive Director, Yu Chengdong, and Vice President of Huawei’s smartphone product line, Li Xiaolong, the development of the Kunlun glass took four years, overcoming numerous challenges along the way.

The Kunlun glass is inspired by the strong and durable structure of reinforced concrete and is made through a rigorous process, including 24 hours of crystal growth, 108 procedures, and a 1600 degree melting process. The glass contains billions of high-strength nanocrystals, making the glass highly impact-resistant and able to withstand drops 10 times better than other smartphone glass.

In addition to the Kunlun glass, the Huawei Mate 50 series is also the first smartphone that supports the Beidou messaging system. The development of this new technology was completed by Huawei’s satellite messaging research and development team, whose average age is under 30.

Yu Chengdong reflects on the journey of Huawei‘s success: “Ten years ago, the difficulties we faced were that no one recognized or knew about Huawei’s brand. But today, we have accumulated many core technologies and capabilities.” He emphasized that although innovation comes at a cost, Huawei will continue to invest in research and development, overcome challenges, and lead the industry forward.

Huawei admits how difficult it was to manufacture the Huawei Mate 50 series

Huawei Consumer Business Group CEO Yu Chengdong recently sat down with Chinese media to discuss the challenges the company faced in producing the Huawei Mate 50 series. Yu revealed that the manufacturing process was difficult due to major faults in the supply chain and limited chip supplies. Despite these hurdles, the team managed to bring the flagship into production.

Yu also spoke about the internal obstacles the company faced, with someone within the company telling him that it was impossible for the Mate 50 to succeed due to the high cost and restrictions on gathering the required technologies. However, Yu was determined to make the product a success.

Since last year’s U.S. restrictions, the company has been limited to launching only 4G phones and the Mate 50 series is no exception. However, Yu stated that Huawei has improved 4G performance and WiFi 6 technology helps fill the gap left by the lack of 5G.

Overall, Yu expressed confidence in the Mate 50 series, stating that if it did not do well, he would be “very sad,” but he is pleased with its performance so far. Despite not having 5G capabilities, the Mate 50 series is packed with high-end features including XMAGE imaging technologies and high-resolution pictures.

Huawei’s push into the smartphone market might have slowed down considerably but that doesn’t mean its ambitions in this highly competitive market have stopped completely. After two years of hiatus, the Mate series gets a couple of new devices, namely the Huawei Mate 50 and the Huawei Mate 50 Pro. This comes at an interesting time too since there’s news about the US government planning to reduce the restrictions on the company from the existing trade ban. 

The Mate 50 series comes in two major models, the Mate 50 standard and the Mate 50 Pro with a special Porsche edition tagging along too, like the old days. The three models feature very similar specs, but the Porsche Design stands out with a premium design, more RAM, and better cameras. Given the few differences between the three new models in the lineup, we’ve decided to take a closer look at the Huawei Mate 50, Huawei Mate 50 Pro, and the Huawei Mate 50 RS Porsche Edition.

DESIGN

Since Porsche Design models have always had a unique identity, let’s first focus on the Huawei Mate 50 and the Huawei Mate 50 Pro. 

The Mate 50 and the Pro editions have very similar back designs. You get a round camera housing with four camera sensors arranged in a 2 x 2 design. Well, technically, there are only three sensors at the back and the fourth sensor is a fake, added for symmetry. But overall, the back design looks neat and clean, and with multiple color options on both the models, like Black, Silver, Purple, and Orange, the new Mate 50 series gives a premium vibe. 

Coming to the Porsche Edition, the model comes with a similar octagonal camera module like its predecessor, the Mate 40 RS Porsche edition. In fact, a quick glance at the back would reveal its identity as the Porsche edition given its similarity to the previous generation models. But again, the number of cameras has gone down and is now limited to three. 

On the front, the Mate 50 comes with a single punch hole camera while the Mate 50 Pro and the RS Porsche edition feature a more traditional wide notch featuring a complex set of sensors for 3D face recognition. 

When you compare the dimensions, they three have some minor differences from each other. The Mate 50 is slightly shorter with dimensions of 161.5 x 76.1 x 8 mm while the Mate 50 Pro is thicker but slightly narrower than the Mate 50. On the other hand, the Mate 50 RS Porsche edition features a similar body profile as the Pro edition but is way thicker with a 9.9mm body. 

Notably, all three phones come with IP68 certification. 

DISPLAY

What’s really surprising is that all three models have the exact same screen size and resolution – 6.7 inches with 1224 x 2700. But the major difference comes in refresh rate, with the Mate 50 settling for a 90Hz panel and the Pro and Porsche models getting 120Hz panels. All three phones have the company’s self-developed Kunlun glass protection instead of traditional Corning Gorilla glass panels. 

Another big difference is in the type of display, with the Mate 50 getting a regular flat display while the Pro and Porsche edition models featuring a curved display. That’s also why the Pro and Porsche models have a higher screen-to-body ratio. 

SPECS

All three phones are powered by the same ​​Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 chipset featuring an octa-core architecture clocked at 3.2GHz. So you’ll never be short of power on these three models. However, like the other flagships of recent years, the snapdragon process will be a 4G-only chip, meaning there isn’t 5G support on any of the three models, which is disappointing. 

The Mate 50 and the 50 Pro max out at 512GB 8GB RAM while the Porsche edition takes things a notch further up with a 512GB 12GB RAM model.

As for software, all three phones run on EMUI 13 international version outside of China and HarmonyOS 3.0 for models in China. 

CAMERAS

The Huawei Mate 50 features a triple camera setup with a 50-megapixel flagship Sony IMX766 sensor, another 13-megapixel Sony IMX688 ultra-wide angle lens, and a 12-megapixel telephoto zoom lens that offers up to 5x optical zoom capabilities and OIS support. 

On the Pro model, there is a 50MP Sony IMX766 main camera featuring OIS, another 13MP ultra-wide shooter, and a 64MP periscope telephoto camera with OIS. The only difference on the Porsche edition is that it downgrades the telephoto camera resolution to 48MP with the remaining sensors being the same. 

All three devices support XMAGE imaging technology that will help improve the photography experience.

Meanwhile, the front of these three phones houses a 13-megapixel selfie shooter. However, thanks to the wider notch on the Pro and Porsche Edition models, they get an additional ToF 3D sensor for secure face recognition. 

BATTERY

All three smartphones feature fast 66W wired charging support and 50W wireless charging support. You also get 5W reverse wireless charging support. But the Mate 50 brings a smaller 4500mAh battery as compared to the 4700mAh ones found on the Pro and Porsche edition models. 

PRICING

The Mate 50 128GB model starts at 4,999 Yuan (roughly 720 US Dollars), while the 256GB variant has a price tag of 5,499 Yuan (roughly 791 US Dollars) and the 512GB model costs 6,499 Yuan (roughly 935 US Dollars).

The Mate 50 Pro is priced at 6,799 Yuan (~$977) and 7,799 Yuan (~$1,121), respectively while the RS Porsche Design model has a hefty price tag of 12,999 Yuan (~$1,868) and comes in just one 12GB and 512GB ROM edition.

Huawei has just officially unveiled its latest Mate series of flagship smartphones after almost two years. Back in November 2020, the Mate 40 series was announced, and now the company has finally launched the next gen Mate 50 series. So let’s take a look at the base variant of the premium lineup.

Design & Display

Looking at the latest flagship smartphone, the Mate 50 features a design that is quite similar to the original Mate 40. It features a curved back panel and curved edges. The rear also houses a large circular camera module like the one found on the Mate 50, albeit, there are changes in its design with the circular module being a single large camera module this time over the previous gen’s donut like design.

On the front, the Chinese tech giant’s Mate 50 sports a 6.7 inch OLED display that has a FHD+ (2700 x 1224 pixels) resolution, with a center aligned punch hole cut out and a 90Hz refresh rate and 300Hz touch sampling rate. This panel also supports HDR, P3 color gamut and can output 1.07 billion colors. The screen also houses an in display fingerprint scanner for security.

Specifications

Under the hood, the new Mate 50 is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC that is paired with at least 8GB of RAM. It was initially believed to feature the older Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, but this was a welcomed surprise. However, this processor only supports 4G networking. This is primarily due to the sanctions it faces from the US. Furthermore, the premium grade handset will be powered by a 4,460mAh battery pack that supports 66W fast charging and up to 50W wireless fast charging as well.

Paired with the 4G only Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, this might translate to a slightly better power efficiency than the regular model. Notably, the company has also boasted of an industry breaking battery life, with users even having the option to make calls when the battery is dead thanks to an battery emergency mode. Apart from this, the brand is also offering satellite communication technology that allows for cellular calls and messages in very remote areas where there is no cellular 3G, 4G or 5G coverage. Other features include, stereo speakers, anti fingerprint film, splash, water and dust resistant (although, this wasn’t professionally rated as per the official website).

Camera

The base Huawei Mate 50 smartphone model is equipped with a triple camera setup on the rear. Its primary image sensor is a 50 megapixel flagship Sony IMX766 sensor, which is paired with another 13 megapixel Sony IMX688 ultra wide angle lens. The last camera is the 12 megapixel telephoto zoom lens that offers up to 5x optical zoom capabilities and OIS support. The Huawei Mate 50 is available in multiple color options as well as three different storage configurations. It is offered in five color options, while the storage options include a 128GB, 256GB, and a 512GB top end model. The 128GB model costs 4,999 Yuan (roughly 720 US Dollars), while the 256GB variant has a price tag of 5,499 Yuan (roughly 791 US Dollars) and the 512GB model costs 6,499 Yuan (roughly 935 US Dollars).

Newer Huawei phones are limited to 4G connectivity due to the sanctions imposed by the US government. However, a company named SoyeaLink sells a case for Huawei P50 Pro, which enables 5G support. According to certifications, this firm will release similar cases for the upcoming Huawei Mate 50 series.

Three new 5G cases from SoyeaLink have been certified by China’s MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology). They bear model numbers SY108-618, SY108-658, and SY108-688.

These cases are expected to be designed for Huawei Mate 50, Huawei Mate 50 Pro, and Porsche Design Huawei Mate 50 RS. According to reports, there will be a fourth device called Huawei Mate 50e. Hence, there may not be a 5G case for it.

As per leaks, all the aforementioned Mate 50 series models will be powered by Qualcomm chipsets. The vanilla, Pro, and Porsche Design variants are said to house a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. Whereas, the Mate 50e is tipped to feature a Snapdragon 778G chip.

These two system-on-chips come with a 5G modem as standard. But on the forthcoming Huawei smartphones, 5G connectivity will be disabled on them. Hence, the SoyeaLink cases.

The SoyeaLink case for the Huawei P50 Pro weighs 52g and measures 3.2mm in thickness. It features a 5G model with an eSIM. It runs on a 1.35GHz dual-core CPU and supports sub-6GHz 5G (NSA and SA). It is priced at ¥800 ($115).

Similar specs and prices are expected for the yet-to-release three cases for the Huawei Mate 50 series.

Huawei is gearing up to launch its next-generation Mate-series flagship smartphones in the form of the Huawei Mate 50 lineup, even though the company is pretty much out of the game when it comes to premium devices because of the US-imposed sanctions.

But that isn’t stopping the Chinese giant from offering unique and innovative features to its smartphones. In the latest teaser shared by Huawei, it has been confirmed that the Mate 50 series smartphones will have support for satellite communication.

In a teaser video shared by the company showing a satellite getting launched, Huawei says that the signal goes beyond the ground and the device is always connected for communication. This pretty much confirms that the upcoming premium phones from the company will come with support for satellite communication feature.

Based on the rumors and previous leaks, it is being said that the satellite communication feature in the Huawei Mate 50 series will provide an emergency messaging service supported by the Beidou system.

The development comes after Huawei was granted a patent for “Method and Device for Satellite Communication,” and the company has also applied for several other patents related to this technology.

Huawei isn’t the only company working on offering satellite communication feature on its smartphones. Apple has also been working on something similar, which was expected to make its debut with the upcoming iPhone 14. The feature, named “Emergency Message via Satellite,” will reportedly be integrated into the Messages application as a third option along with SMS and iMessage.

The Huawei Mate 50 series flagship smartphones are set to go official in the Chinese market tomorrow, i.e. on 6th September. The devices will also come with support for better photography and will be equipped with Huawei Imaging XMAGE. The smartphones are expected to come running the company’s own HarmonyOS 3.0 operating system.

After almost 2 years since the reveal of the Huawei Mate 40 Pro back in November 2020, Huawei is due to finally lift the curtains of its next-generation of Huawei Mate 50 series of flagship smartphones next week September 6th 2022 (Tuesday) on a physical launch event in China.

Huawei had not shared much about the design or specific highlighting features of the upcoming Huawei Mate 50 series of smartphones in its official teasers this year. However, leaks and rumours have given us a general idea of what to expect from the Huawei Mate 50 flagships in 2022.

In this roundup article, we will share the number of members in the Huawei Mate 50 family, the features, and the specifications that are expected to be launched on these devices.

Huawei Mate 50 Series Feature Highlights

The Huawei Mate 50 family will consist of 4 devices: the standard Huawei Mate 50, the Huawei Mate 50 Pro, the Huawei Mate 50E, and the Huawei Mate 50 RS. 

In its official teasers this week, Huawei has revealed that the Huawei Mate 50 series will feature industry-breaking smartphone battery life never before seen in the industry before, boldly claiming that you can even use your phone to make calls when the battery is dead. Rumours also point to the Huawei Mate 50 series featuring satellite communication technology that allows for cellular calls and messages in very remote areas where there is no cellular 3G, 4G or 5G coverage.

As for the cameras, after the end of the partnership with German camera maker brand Leica, the Huawei Mate 50 flagships will now instead feature a camera setup co-engineered with XMAGE, the newly launched camera brand that wants to integrate its camera expertise into smartphone photography. In addition, Huawei has officially teased as well that physically variable apertures are coming to the Huawei Mate 50 family as well, providing better colour reproduction in both daylight and nighttime shots.

Under the hood, all 4 devices will feature 4G-only Qualcomm Snapdragon smartphone SoCs running the show, due to the US sanctions prohibiting Huawei from utilising 5G SoCs from Qualcomm. And the Huawei Mate 50 series of smartphones are the first Huawei smartphones to launch with HarmonyOS 3.0 out of the box.

Huawei Mate 50 Specifications

The cheapest among the family is the Huawei Mate 50E, which is equipped with Qualcomm’s mid-range Snapdragon 778G SoC that has only support for 4G network connectivity. The design of the Huawei Mate 50E is expected to be a glass and aluminium chassis, with flat aluminium sides and glass on the front and back. 

The device will sport a flat 1.5K AMOLED screen that has a resolution of 2800*1225, a punch hole located in the centre top of the display along with support for a 90Hz refresh rate. The rear camera setup will be a standard triple camera setup consisting of a standard wide-angle main, ultra wide-angle and telephoto lens. 

The Huawei Mate 50E is said to support wireless charging + 66W fast wired charging, and a 4400mAh battery. 

Meanwhile, the standard Huawei Mate 50, Huawei Mate 50 Pro and Huawei Mate 50 RS (Porsche Edition) will feature the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC found in other competing Android flagships like the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, Realme GT 2 Pro, Vivo X80 Pro and the OnePlus 10 Pro. However, one big difference is that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 in the Huawei Mate 50 smartphones are not 5G-capable, meaning that they only support 4G connectivity or older. And all models are said to have support for wireless charging and up to 66W fast wired charging.

But some rumours do point to the standard Huawei Mate 50 featuring last year’s Snapdragon 888 4G instead, which could be true considering the latter’s better power efficiency.

The Huawei Mate 50 is said to feature a curved 1.5K 90Hz AMOLED display with a punch-hole cutout in the centre, whilst the more premium Huawei Mate 50 Pro and Mate 50 RS will feature a curved 1.5K 120Hz AMOLED and could see the return of the notch. The notch is said to make way for Huawei’s next-generation of face recognition technology that allows users to quickly and securely access their smartphone with contactless biometric authentication.

As for the cameras, all of the higher-end Huawei Mate 50 flagships are rumoured to feature the flagship Sony IMX766 sensor with an aperture of f/1.5 and a max resolution of 50 MP. The highest-end camera setup on the Huawei Mate 50 series also points to a Sony IMX688 ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 5 times periscope OV64B telephoto zoom lens for versatility.

The last couple of weeks has been slow in terms of smartphone launches. This is going to change next week as multiple big announcements are scheduled to happen.

Five brands have confirmed to hold launch events next week. They are Poco, Xiaomi, Huawei, Apple, and Motorola.

Out of all companies, the last three will debut premium handsets. Whereas, the first two will announce budget models.

Let’s take a look at these phones one by one.

Upcoming Smartphones Next Week

Poco M5 and Poco M5s

The Poco M5 will be a new device, whereas the Poco M5s will be a rebranded Redmi Note 10S. Both of them will be announced in a live stream at 8 PM GMT+8 on September 5.

The M5 is said to come with a MediaTek Helio G99 SoC, 6.58-inch FHD+ display (LCD), 5,00mAh battery, and 33W fast charging support.

Whereas, the M5s is expected to arrive with a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, MediaTek Helio G96 SoC, 64MP main camera, dual stereo speakers, 5,000mAh battery, and 33W fast charging support.

Redmi 11 Prime 5G

The Redmi 11 Prime is set to launch in India at 12 PM IST on September 6. This phone is a rebranded Redmi Note 11E, which also goes by Redmi 10 5G in Southeast Asia.

The handset is expected to come with a 6.58-inch 90Hz FHD+ display (LCD), MediaTek Dimensity 700 chip, 50MP main camera, side-mounted fingerprint sensor, 5,000mAh battery, and 18W wired charging support.

Huawei Mate 50 Series

The Huawei Mate 50 series is scheduled to go official on September 6. It will be announced at an event, which will be live-streamed from 2:30 PM CST.

The Mate 50 lineup is rumored to include four models, namely Mate 50, Mate 50 Pro, Porsche Design Mate 50 RS, and Mate 50E. The first three devices are said to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, while the last one is tipped to house a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC.

Either way, all of them will be limited to 4G connectivity. The series is expected to offer up to 66W fast wired charging support and a variable aperture camera.

Apple iPhone 14 Series

Apple has scheduled its annual fall event for September 7 at 10 AM PT. The company is expected to debut the iPhone 14 series.

The iPhone 14 lineup is tipped to include four models. They are iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max (or Plus), iPhone Pro, and iPhone Pro Max. As you can see, there will be no Mini as it will be replaced by the new Max or Plus.

Major upgrades are only expected for the Pro models. The expensive iPhones are said to offer a high-resolution camera, a new chipset, and a redesigned notch.

Motorola Edge 30 Series

Motorola has confirmed to unveil new Edge series smartphones on September 8. The Lenovo-owned brand is expected to debut three devices, namely Edge 30 Ultra, Edge 30 Fusion, and Edge 30 Neo.

The Ultra and Fusion will be rebranded Moto X30 Pro and Moto S30 Pro, respectively. Whereas, the Neo will be a new device.

The Ultra will be the first globally available smartphone with a 200MP main camera. On the other hand, Fusion and Neo will be lifestyle smartphones.

Huawei, the Chinese-based consumer electronics tech giant, will launch its latest flagship smartphone series, the Huawei Mate 50 lineup next week Tuesday on September 6.

As we are only a week away from the launch of the smartphone series, Huawei has started to drip feed the highlighting features of the Huawei Mate 50 smartphones to its fans on its official social media accounts.

In an official Chinese social media Weibo post by the brand today, Huawei officially teases that the Huawei Mate 50 series of smartphones will feature ground-breaking battery endurance never seen before in a smartphone. The company advertises the feature with the slogan “Even when your phone has run out of battery, your phone still has the energy to go further”.

As reported earlier by ITHome, the Chinese news site cited industry sources that Huawei has developed an “emergency battery mode” in Harmony OS 3 designed for the Huawei Mate 50 series. Unlike competing ultra battery saver modes from its competitors, Huawei’s upcoming emergency battery mode can still allow users to scan QR codes and make calls even when the phone is supposed “out of battery”.

The technology scene in China has been speculating what Huawei’s emergency mode may look like. Some proposed the idea that the smartphone reserves 5 percent of the power for emergency calls and QR code scanning services: some proposed the idea to set the smartphone voltage to a very low level at a certain time before the power is turned off, such as setting the voltage from an idle 3.2 V to below 2.8 V, so as to squeeze out tens of hundreds of mAh of power for emergency use.

In simpler terms, the emergency battery mode has some examples where it could be useful for interested buyers. For instance, after the smartphone has run out of power, you can enable emergency mode and scan the nearest QR location code and enter a nearby electronics store to borrow a power bank.

The Huawei Mate 50 series is confirmed to be the first smartphone to feature Huawei’s next-generation Harmony OS 3 operating system, as well as the first Huawei flagship smartphone series to feature a flagship camera setup co-engineered with mobile photography brand XMAGE.

Upcoming Smartphones in September 2022

Sony Xperia 5 IV

Sony has scheduled a phone launch for September 1 at IFA 2022. The company is expected to announce the Xperia 5 IV, the fourth generation of its compact flagship smartphone.

Not much is known about this device, except that it will arrive with an around 6-inch display, 3.5mm headphone jack, USB Type-C port, WiFi 6, and NFC with support for FeliCa.

We don’t have to wait longer to know everything about this phone as it will be the first to go official in September.

Poco M5 Series

The Poco M5 series has been confirmed to debut on September 5 in multiple markets. The lineup consists of two models, namely Poco M5 and Poco M5s.

Out of the two devices, the M5s will be a rebranded Redmi Note 10S with some tweaks. Whereas, the M5 will be a new handset powered by a MediaTek Helio G99 SoC.

We are looking forward to learning more about the duo in the coming days.

Redmi 11 Prime 5G

The Redmi 11 Prime 5G is heading to India on September 6. The device is nothing but a rebranded Redmi Note 11E. This phone also goes by Redmi 10 5G in Southeast Asia.

It comes with a 6.58-inch FHD+ 90Hz display (LCD), MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC, LPDDR4x RAM, UFS 2.2 storage, 50MP (wide) + 2MP (depth) dual-camera setup, 5MP selfie camera, side-mounted fingerprint sensor, MIUI, 5,000mAh battery, and 18W wired charging support.

Huawei Mate 50 Series

The Huawei Mate 50 series is set to fo go official on September 6 in China. A total of four phones are expected, such as Mate 50, Mate 50 Pro, Porsche Design Mate 50 RS, and Mate 50e.

The first three models are said to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. Whereas, the e-variant is tipped to house a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G chip. Either way, all of them will be limited to 4G connectivity.

Unlike earlier, leaks regarding Huawei products have become rare. Therefore, not much is known about the next-gen premium smartphones from the company.

Apple iPhone 14 Series

Apple has scheduled an event for September 7. The company is expected to debut four new iPhones, namely iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max.

The new Max model is rumored to replace the Mini. Further, only Pro and Pro Max are said to bring more improvements, like redesigned notch (punch-hole and pill), A16 Bionic SoC, better ultra-wide camera, and 48MP main camera to name a few.

As Apple products are not known for accurate leaks, we will have to wait until the launch event to learn everything about these forthcoming smartphones.

Motorola Edge 30 Series

Motorola is teasing the launch of new Edge series smartphones on September 8 in multiple markets. Initially, only Edge 30 Ultra and Edge 30 Fusion were expected. Now, as per a new leak, this duo will be accompanied by Edge 30 Neo.

The Edge 30 Ultra and Edge 30 Fusion are nothing international variants of Moto X30 Pro and Moto S30 Pro sold in China. Whereas, the Edge 30 Neo will be a new handset.

Asus ROG Phone 6D Ultimate

The Asus ROG Phone 6D Ultimate is set to go official on September 19. As the name suggests, the handset is a variant of the ROG Phone 6 Ultimate.

According to leaks and teasers, the device will only differ in terms of the chipset. It will be powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 Plus chip instead of a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 SoC.

Apart from the silicon, the ROG Phone 6D Ultimate will be likely the same as the ROG Phone 6 Ultimate.

Realme GT Neo 3T

The Realme GT Neo  3T was teased to launch in India in August. But now, it appears that the handset will be released in the region in September.

The device is a rebranded Realme Q5 Pro sold in China. It comes with a 6.62-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC, LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, Android 12, 64MP main camera, 16MP selfie camera, 5,000mAh battery, and 80W fast wired charging support.

Oppo A17K, A57e, and A77s

The Oppo A17K is expected to release as a successor to Oppo A16K. Not much is known about the handset, except that it will be a 4G-only smartphone.

It may arrive with an HD+ display (LCD), MediaTek or UNISOC chipset, either a single or dual camera setup, and a large battery.

Further, the Oppo A57e is tipped to be a variant of the Oppo A57. It is said to cost ₹13,999 in India.

It is not known how it will differ from the original model. We can expect it to come with a large display, huge battery, single or dual camera system, and more.

Finally, the Oppo A77s is expected to be a variant of the Oppo A77. As of now, we only know two things about it.

The device will be backed by a 5,000mAh battery and it will carry support for 33W wired charging.

iQOO Z6 Lite 5G and iQOO Z6 Pro SE

The iQOO Z6 Lite 5G is tipped to be a tweaked version of Vivo T1x with support for 5G connectivity. It is said to go official in the second week of September in India.

Whereas, nothing is known about the iQOO Z6 Pro SE. As per its name, it could be a lite variant of the regular iQOO Z6 Pro.

Samsung Galaxy A04s, Galaxy A04 Core, and Galaxy M04

A few days back, Samsung announced the Galaxy A04. This handset is now expected to be accompanied by two models in the series, namely Galaxy A04s and Galaxy A04 Core.

Going by their names, the Galaxy A04s model could be a better version of the vanilla Galaxy A04, while the Galaxy A04 Core will likely be a lite variant.

Lastly, Samsung is also said to debut Galaxy M04, which could be a rebranded Galaxy A04.

Xiaomi 12T Series

The Xiaomi 12T series in the news for a very long time. However, the company is yet to disclose the launch date. Going by its predecessors, the lineup will most likely go official in September.

According to reports, the Xiaomi 12T Pro will be a tweaked Redmi K50 Ultra with a 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP1 primary camera. On the other hand, the vanilla Xiaomi 12T is rumored to come with a MediaTek Dimensity 8100 Ultra SoC and a 108MP main camera.

Redmi A1 and Poco C50

The Redmi A1 will be an entry-level smartphone from Xiaomi. It is said to arrive with a MediaTek Helio A22 chipset and Android 12.

The device is also expected to launch as Poco C50 with cosmetic changes.

Since the US imposed various sanctions against Huawei, the company’s smartphone operations has been struggling and even saw a massive decline in the market. But it seems that the brand has not completely abandoned its smartphone business and its next generation of flagship model, the Mate 50 series, is already gaining some hype.

Since the brand had suffered a major blow on its smartphones operations, the company had began focusing on only launching one flagship series in a year. At the moment, Huawei is expected to release the Mate 50 series, which includes 4 models, on 6th September 2022. But prior to the announcement, the brand started taking reservations for the Mate 50 lineup from its official website in China as well as its other e-commerce partners.

And looking at these reservations, we can see that more than 1 million people have already signed up for the Mate 50 series. In other words, this basically means that the company still has a loyal customer base in its home market of China. To be fair, reservations does not imply sales directly like pre-orders. A new leak has just surfaced, which revealed some details regarding the camera system on the Huawei Mate 50 series of smartphones. The new lineup consists of flagship grade handsets and will apparently feature 50 megapixel primary camera on the rear.

The news arrives from Digital Chat Station, which is a known tipster who shared the news on Weibo (a Chinese microblogging website). For those unaware, the Chinese tech giant had previously announced that it will be announcing the new high end smartphone series during a launch event on September 6. During this time, the company will likely launch other products as well, but the highlight of this conference is the Huawei Mate 50 series.

Now, the tipster Digital Chat Station revealed earlier today (25th August 2022) that the Mate 50 lineup will feature a 50 megapixel primary camera on the rear. The new image sensor will have a size of 1/1.5 inch and is claimed to be the Sony IMX766 sensor. Furthermore, the new higher end Mate 50 Pro will also feature a variable aperture technology.

The mate 50 series will also feature a telephoto lens that has a 3x, 3.5x, and 5x telephoto zoom lens, Sony IMX688 sensor, OV64B sensor, along with the Sony IMX766 main camera as well. As of right now, this was all the information shared by the tipster and finer details regarding the upcoming series is still at large. Huawei is all set to launch its next-generation Huawei Mate 50 series flagship smartphones in its home country China, and now the company has officially confirmed the launch date for the upcoming smartphones.

The company has revealed that it is scheduling a launch event for the official launch of the all-new Huawei Mate 50 series smartphones in the Chinese market on 6th September.

Huawei has revealed the launch date, but the company has not yet revealed the key features and specifications of the phones. However, thanks to multiple leaks and certifications, we have an idea of what to expect. The series will likely have four models –Mate 50, Mate 50e, Mate 50 Pro, and Mate 50 RS Edition.

The Huawei Mate 50 will come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC with connectivity limited to 4G LTE. The other models in the lineup, including the Pro model, will be powered by the company’s own Kirin 9000S chipset. The Mate 50e model is expected to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G SoC.

The Huawei Kirin 9000S processor has not yet been announced by the company, but it is likely to be a tweaked version of the Kirin 9000 SoC that has now become the last flagship chipset from the company because of the US-imposed sanctions.

The phones are rumored to feature an OLED display sourced from BOE, offering a refresh rate of 90Hz on the base model and 120Hz on the high-end models. Huawei is apparently gearing up to launch its Mate 50 series of smartphones soon. The company’s next gen flagship models are expected to launch next month, and prior to their release, the Mate 50 and Mate 50 Pro were spotted on multiple certification databases in China.

The sightings on the certification website also hints at its imminent launch. For those unaware, the Chinese tech giant is expected to unveil a number of models within the Mate 50 series, including the Mate 50, Mate 50e, Mate 50 Pro, and the Mate 50 RS edition as well. Unfortunately, the company has yet to officially reveal finer details regarding the upcoming smartphones but known tipster Digital Chat Station has shared some specifications regarding the Mate 50 series.

Looking at their social media post, it was claimed that the Mate 50 series will be equipped with 66W fast charging support and has just passed through three certification websites in China (namely 3C, SRRC, and CTA). The tipster further added that the Huawei Mate 50 Pro will also being a number of new features and functions, apart from the regular face recognition system for biometric security. Huawei is gearing up to launch its next-generation Mate 50-series flagship smartphones in its home country China. While the company has not yet confirmed the launch date, it will likely announce the phones next month.

Ahead of the official launch, several details regarding the Huawei Mate 50 series have already leaked online. In the latest development, it is said that the standard model will pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset.

As per the report, the Huawei Mate 50 will come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC with connectivity limited to 4G LTE. The other models in the lineup are said to be powered by the company’s own Kirin 9000S chipset.

The Huawei Kirin 9000S processor has not yet been announced by the company, but it is likely to be a tweaked version of the Kirin 9000 SoC that has now become the last flagship chipset from the company because of the US-imposed sanctions.

Recently, there were rumors that the company is running out of stock of Kirin 9000 SoC and thus, the chipset won’t be used on all the smartphones in the lineup, and some models may end up using the Qualcomm chips.

As for the Huawei Mate 50, the phone is rumored to feature an OLED display sourced from BOE, offering a Full HD+ screen resolution and a 120hz refresh rate. It is expected to pack 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage.

Huawei is gearing up to launch its next-generation flagship Mate 50-series smartphones in its home country China. While the launch date is not yet confirmed, rumors indicate that the Huawei Mate 50 series could launch in the first week of next month.

Back in October 2022, Huawei launched the Mate 40 series of flagship devices consisting of the Mate 40, the Mate 40 Pro, and the Mate 40 Pro Plus. The company has yet to launch a successor of this device, and going by recent reports, it is likely to happen soon.

According to tipster @厂长是关同学, the Huawei Mate 50 series will debut in the month of September. The tipster Further adds that the series will consist of three devices – the Mate 50, the Mate 50 Pro, and the Mate 50 RS.

The devices will likely come powered by the company’s in-home Kirin 9000S chipset, which will likely be a tweaked version of the Kirin 9000 chip, and will come with 4G-only connectivity.

Relatedly, reliable Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station has shared renders of the back panel of the upcoming Mate 50 and Mate 50 Pro. From the image, we can see that the device will come with a curved back panel and curved edges. The circular camera module appears to house three camera lenses and two flash modules along with a sensor.

Moving on to the front of the device, leaked images of the tempered glass of the Mate 50 series reveals that the vanilla variant will have a punch-hole cutout in the center, while the Mate 50 Pro and likely Mate 50 RS will come with an iPhone like cutout, which indicates that it will likely come with face ID unlock feature.

The smartphone will make its debut in China in September and is also expected to launch globally. Although it is not confirmed if the global variant of the device will also use the Kirin 9000 SoC or opt for Snapdragon 888 4G.

HUAWEI’s next big operating system update has been tipped to land sometime in July by Wangzai Knows Everything on Weibo. Called HarmonyOS 3.0, the update is currently under its Developer Preview phase with builds being released regularly.

HarmonyOS 3.0 beta rollouts were originally scheduled for March with stable releases following in July but a report from a few days back indicated that the launch may be delayed. However, it now looks that the stable version of the update will in fact be released per schedule.

If the news holds true, then we may likely see the HUAWEI Mate 50 series, that’s scheduled to launch also in July, boot into HarmonyOS 3.0 right out of the box. The phone will be sold in two variants — one with the Snapdragon 888 4G chip and the other with the Kirin 9000 4G chip — yep, no 5G once again owing to the US ban.

At the end of 2021, it was reported that more than 220 million devices have been equipped with Huawei’s HarmonyOS operating system, and over a hundred HUAWEI mobile phones will be eligible for the upcoming version.

Huawei’s Hongmeng Zhilian has already acquired 2,000 partners meaning we should be seeing even more devices supporting the HarmonyOS hardware ecosystem and deeper integration with the world of IoT.

Huawei‘s Consumer Business Group Strategy Marketing Department Vice President, Li Changzhou has stated that the Huawei Mate 50 will indeed be a reality. The Huawei VP alluded to a community forum. The statement seemingly puts to rest the insinuation which was already gathering traction that the Mate 50 family was never to transit into a sellable product lineup.

Huawei has had a mixed bag of fortunes within the past year as it tries to pick up from the debilitating US sanctions regime. A canceled product offering could well be one of its least worries, but the strong confirmation by Huawei will calm some frayed nerves.

In 2021, Huawei could only unveil a single flagship line – the P50, and industry watchers had expected the Mate lineup should have been a concurrent flagship addition. Huawei continues to shore up its architecture as it fashions out a long-term response to US sanctions.

Li Changzhou was speaking on the eve of MWC 2022 and the company’s upcoming Spring 2022 Smart Office Live event. The specific optics of the statement relating to the Mate 50 indicates that Huawei may be working on the development of the Mate 50 after all. However, we are left in the dark about the possible release date for the Mate 50, if indeed it is under development.

There are reports that a new Huawei Mate device could surface by the middle of 2022. There is no way of verifying the information, as Huawei remains blank at this time. However, we expect a minimum of a 2nd-gen Snapdragon 8 chipset.

Huawei Mate 50 series could be powered solely by Snapdragon chips, likely the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, a tipster has revealed.

The information comes from prominent leakster “Chrysanthemum Pictures Fans” who also said that the Snapdragon chip will once again lack 5G capabilities.

Compared to the P50 series, the cameras of the device have been improved. The software was also said to have a good experience and will be based on HarmonyOS 3.0.

Apart from this, barely anything is known about the Huawei Mate 50 flagship but we should be getting our hands on some more information ahead of the launch. The launch has been scheduled for mid-to-late July according to the tipster.

Huawei has long been unable to ship its phones with 5G capabilities due to sanctions from the US. The company is also unable to produce new Kirin chipsets but had managed to maintain an extremely large stock of them. Huawei is set to make its re-entry into the flagship segment with the Mate 50 series that’s expected to launch in the first quarter of this year. While not much is known about the devices, we now have concept renders at hand thanks to well-known concept creators hereYashRaj and Nova Concept (via Equal Leaks).

The artists have imagined the Huawei Mate 50 featuring a compact form factor, with a size in the same range as the Xiaomi 12 and iPhone 12. As such, the screen has been sized between 6.28 and 6.38 inches in the renders. It also ditches the pill-shaped cutout found on the Mate 40 Pro and instead sticks to a more modern hole-punch for the selfie camera.

A large part of the rear is occupied by the ginormous circular camera module which the concept creators imagine with a primary camera, a wide-angle camera, and a periscope lens with 5X optical zoom. There’s no Leica branding anywhere which is reasonable considering Huawei’s partnership with the camera company ended with the P50 series. The flash has been placed at the center of the module.

The back panel has been imagined to be of a glossy texture, with a striped design for added character.

Of course, the concepts are unofficial, designed only for artistic purposes, and the retail version of the Mate 50 will likely look a lot different. Still, they give us an idea of what one can expect.

Moving on to actual specifications, the Huawei Mate 50 series is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 or Kirin 9000 processors and may come with LTPO displays. There’s also a possibility of the Huawei Mate 50 smartphone having support for satellite connectivity when a cellular network isn’t available.

Chinese tech powerhouse Huawei has had a bag of mixed fortunes since the US blacklisted the company from accessing important US supplies a few years back. Back in July, there was a raft of product releases that indicated a silver lining in the dark skies. The July offering included the flagship P50 series. However, there were speculations that due to the US ban, as well as supply chain challenges, Huawei might not be able to release another flagship product within 2021, although the Mate 50 had already been mooted for unveiling within the fourth quarter of the year.

There are indications that Huawei might have overcome all the constraints and indeed the Mate 50 series is set for its October 2021 release as scheduled. This hint is coming from an industry expert and analyst with Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), who insists that Huawei will release the flagship products in October as planned.

Tracking the event schedule of Huawei, there is a global launch event officially slated for October 21 in Vienna, Austria, and the Mate 50 series could be part of the product lineup for the Vienna event. Huawei is however yet to offer any official confirmation that the global event on October 21 will also include the launch of the Mate 50. The global event could also be the global launch of the P50 series outside China.

Many details about the Huawei Mate 50 series are still under wraps except for few details that could be pieced from the teaser. Huawei has been a dominating player in the smartphone maker for years but that is no longer the case. Although the company has been struggling to get a foothold after getting sanctioned by the United States, it is still trying.

The Chinese tech giant is now gearing up to launch a new flagship smartphone, dubbed Huawei Mate 50. While some details about the device have already been leaked, the latest rumor is about a unique feature of the smartphone.

A Weibo user has tipped (via GizChina) that the upcoming Huawei Mate 50 smartphone will come with support for satellite connectivity when the cellular network isn’t available. The satellite connectivity will be used to communicate via short message service (SMS) in a situation where a cellular network isn’t an option.

For this, the company has reportedly opted for the Beidou Satellite System. It is being reported that because of this new feature addition, the launch of the upcoming flagship smartphone from Huawei has been delayed.

It makes sense for the company to add this unique feature to the Mate series devices given that the Huawei Mate lineup, the second flagship series of the Chinese giant, usually comes packed with the most advanced technology available.

The satellite communication feature proves that Huawei is still trying to innovate in the smartphone space and hasn’t given up on the mobile phone business despite being severely restricted by the United States sanctions. But do note that the satellite communication feature isn’t confirmed by Huawei and it currently looks like speculation.

The Huawei P50 series smartphones, which are usually launched in the first quarter of the year, have been delayed and are now expected to get launched this month. Because of this, the Mate 50 lineup is now expected to get launched in the first half of 2022.

Apple is also expected to add satellite communication support for the iPhones using which users can text first responders and report incidents such as plane crashes, sinking boats, fires, and more. The feature, which is likely to be called “Emergency Message via Satellite” would be integrated into the Messages app as a third option after SMS and iMessage and would be identified by a gray text bubble.

A new Huawei patent has just been spotted, which might be for the next gen flagship Mate 50 smartphone. The patented device sports an ‘Arc screen’ with an under display selfie camera.

According to the LetsGoDigital report, the Chinese tech giant had filed a new patent with the USPTO (United States Patent and Trademark Office). Looking at the patent, the smartphone features a curved display that covers the entire front side of the device along with both of its sides. Notably, the Mate 40 Pro last year featured an 88 degree edge to edge display with side touch functionality. Now, it seems that the company might be working on further iterating on this display technology.

As per the patent, the new futuristic smartphone sports an ‘Arc Display,’ which is its most highlighting feature. Furthermore, the screen also curves and reaches till the rear side of the device while the sides offer various touch based functionality as well since there are no side buttons. These functions include the volume rockers along with message notifications that pop up on the side display. Although some of these features are already present in existing Huawei smartphones, the company places an emphasis on the side display functions even more and would likely include new features as well.

Interestingly, Technizo Concept also made a render based on this patent, which showcases the device in a 3D model. A major aspect of the device is that there is no selfie camera visible on the front, which implies that the brand is likely working on offering an under display camera solution. Keep in mind that this is still just a patent and we have no way of knowing whether this is actually the Mate 50 or just the company’s attempt at covering all bases. So stay tuned for more updates.

A Weibo tipster has hinted that Huawei could have sufficient supplies of chips for its smartphone models that are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chipsets after December 2021.  Recall that the P50 was launched with a Snapdragon 888 version which had only 4G support. The tipster hinted that the company will use the next-gen Snapdragon 898 chip on the Mate 50 but it will only support 4G until the second quarter of 2022 when the 5G version will be available.

The Weibo rumor could indicate a greater business relationship between Huawei and Qualcomm in pursuit of chip sufficiency. It is also reported that Huawei is gradually shifting to Qualcomm, as models sporting the Snapdragon 888 chipset will become the mainstream offerings of Huawei in the shortest time. This also means that the new generation Qualcomm Snapdragon premium chipsets will be available for purchase and deployment into Huawei’s flagship models.

The move continues to reflect the intensive drive of Huawei to regain lost ground from the challenges of the previous years that led to significant losses of its market edge across several countries including China. The Huawei P50 series was announced to come with a Snapdragon processor, which ultimately did not happen, possibly due to supply hitches. It rather came with the Kirin 9000 processor. But there is also the possibility of a shortage of Kirin chips, helping to drive the demand for Qualcomm Snapdragon chips by the company.

In line with the improved partnership with Qualcomm, the Huawei Mate 50 series and the incoming Huawei foldable smartphones will be powered by the new Snapdragon processor. Additionally, these new Snapdragon chipsets are understood to have already adopted Huawei’s HarmonyOS operating system, thus significantly expanding the reach of Huawei in pursuit of global relevance. The new chipset is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 898, which could be released before the end of 2021, according to rumors. It is not clear, however, whether Qualcomm will immediately debut the premium 5G version of the new chip or go with the lower 4G version.

Last week,  news broke out that the HUAWEI Mate50 series will not launch in 2021. A few days later, one of the popular tipsters in China revealed more details about the situation. Let’s take a look at what he has to say.

According to 菊厂影业Fans on Weibo, the HUAWEI Mate50 series is not canceled. He reassures that the company’s high-end smartphones for H2 are merely delayed. He asks the public to stay away from fake rumors about the devices being canceled.

Further, he adds that even if the HUAWEI Mate50 series don’t launch in 2021, then it may come out in 2022. In other words, he is too optimistic since the HUAWEI Mate series is the company’s popular high-end smartphone lineup other than the HUAWEI P series. 

Confirming this leakster’s claim, an exclusive report by China Securities Journal has also revealed that the design of the HUAWEI Mate50 series has been finalized. It’s that the company is yet to decide when to kickstart mass manufacturing due to supply shortage.

For now, 菊厂影业Fans requests people to wait for the launch of the HUAWEI P50 series. As per his latest Weibo post, the P50 series will offer better gameplay and optimized video recording. He says that the zooming will be smooth without any stutter and there won’t be any discoloration either.

Last but not least, since the HUAWEI P50 series will be the first smartphone lineup with HarmonyOS out of the box, it will have some exclusive features as well.

Huawei recently launched its HiSilicon Kirin 9000 chipset, which is likely the last flagship mobile processor from the company for the time being as it is restricted by the United States from using American technology or components.

The company had launched the Huawei P40 series smartphones powered by the Kirin 9000 SoC, which was expected to be the last flagship offering from the company on its own Kirin lineup of processors. However, that may not be the case.

As per the latest information coming from China, Huawei executive has revealed that the company has reserved a significant portion of the Kirin 9000 SoC for future smartphones, including the likes of the P50 series and Mate 50 series that could launch this year.

It is also being reported that the upcoming Huawei P50 series smartphones will be equipped with the Kirin 9000 and Kirin 9000e chipsets. The standard variant will have a display with a 90Hz refresh rate while the high-end model will feature a 120Hz screen.

Huawei’s flagship smartphones are known for their camera performance and that is expected to continue with future devices as the company hasn’t stopped the Research & Development for the P-series and Mate-series phones.

To maintain the image quality that Huawei phones are well-known for, the company will continue to use the Leica lens. The upcoming P50 lineup is expected to camera setup similar to the Mate40 lineup, but with increased zoom capabilities.

The smartphones in the series are expected to have 66W fast charging and 50W wireless charging while the top-end variant could end up supporting 135W charging if the battery density and durability test passes successfully. Interestingly, it is not expected to be running HarmonyOS and will have an Android-based EMUI 11 operating system.
