The Chinese tech giant filed a trademark application early this month for the brand name “Huawei Mate Watch”.
The Huawei Mate Watch will most likely be unveiled this year, probably at the launch of the Mate 40 series. There is still a lot of waiting to do before then and more details should surface soon.

At the beginning of the year, Huawei also filed a trademark application for “MatePod”. There are speculations that it may be the new name for its headphones but it is also possible it may be the new name of its smart speaker series.
