Huawei is giving users more storage freedom with a new 1TB solid-state drive (SSD) option for their popular MateBook D 16 SE 2024 laptop. This addition complements the existing lineup, which features a 13th Gen Intel Core i5-13420H processor and 16GB of memory. The 1TB SSD variant comes in at a price of 4,249 yuan (around $589 USD).

Delving into the specs, the MateBook D 16 SE 2024 boasts a 16-inch IPS screen with a 90% screen-to-body ratio. Connectivity options include a full-function USB-C port, a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, an HDMI 1.4 port, and a USB 2.0 Type-A port.

The laptop is powered by a 56Wh battery, which promises up to 13 hours of local 1080p video playback on a single charge. Other features include AI smart eyes, Huawei metamaterial antenna technology, and support for Super Terminal functionality.

Huawei has today officially started selling two of its new laptops in its home country, dubbed Huawei MateBook D14 and Huawei MateBook D16. The devices were announced a few days back and are now up for sale in China.

As the name indicates, the D14 features a 14-inch screen, while the D16 comes with a 16-inch display. Both devices have a starting price of 4,999 yuan and 5,499 yuan, respectively.

The Huawei MateBook D14 features a 14-inch display panel with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and supports 100% sRGB color gamut. Under the hood, it is powered by Intel‘s Core i5-1340P or Core i7-1360P processor, coupled with 16 LPDDR4x RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage.

The laptop also comes with the company’s metamaterial antenna. The device has a thickness of 15.9mm and weighs 1.3 kilograms. The Core i5 model with 16GB RAM and 512GB storage costs 4,999 yuan (~$722), while the Core i7 model with 16GB RAM and 1TB storage is priced at 5,999 yuan (~$867).

On the other hand, the Huawei MateBook D16 has a 16-inch panel with the same 1920 x 1200 pixels screen resolution, offering a 16:10 aspect ratio and 90% screen-to-body ratio. The device weighs 1.7 kilograms and has a thickness of 18.4 mm.

There are three choices in terms of processor — Core i5-13500H, Core i7-13700H, and Core i9-13900H, coupled with 16GB LPDDR4x RAM and 1TB of internal storage. The device also has a numeric keypad, a Full HD 1080p webcam, and an additional USB-C charging/data transmission port compared to the MateBook D14.

As for the pricing, the Core i5 model is priced at 5,499 yuan (~$794), while the Core i7 model costs 6,499 yuan (~$939). The top-end offering in the lineup, powered by the Core i9 processor, is available for 6,999 yuan (~$1,011).

At the Huawei Nova 11 series launch event, the company also announced the 2023 edition of the Huawei MateBook D 14 and D16. Though the two models belong to the same lineup, they not only differ in terms of size but also in specs and design (slightly).

Let’s check out all the important features offered by these new Huawei laptops along with their pricing and availability.

As the names suggest, the Huawei MateBook D14 2023 has a 14-inch display, whereas the Huawei MateBook D16 2023 sports a 16-inch screen. The LCD panels on both come with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, 300 nits typical brightness level, 16:10 aspect ratio, and 90% screen-to-body ratio.

The two notebooks are powered by 13th Gen Intel processors paired with LPDDR4x RAM and M.2 2280 SSD. However, it is worth noting that the D14 comes with the P series chips instead of the more powerful H series like the D16.

On the connectivity front, both offer WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, 2 x USB Type-C, 2 x USB Type-A, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. They also come with a 1080p webcam, dual speakers, dual microphones, and a 5-point touchpad though Windows 11 currently only supports 4-point.

Finally, they support 65W fast charging but the battery inside the D14 is a smaller 56Wh unit compared to the 60Wh cell underneath D16.

The D14 will hit the shelves on April 26, followed by D16 on May 8. They will retail at the following price tags.

Last month, Huawei launched the MateBook 16s and MateBook D16 laptops in China. Now, the brand has announced the notebooks for the European market.

The laptops were announced today at a launch event held in Istanbul, Turkey, which saw the launch of the Huawei nova Y90. The brand has yet to reveal the availability and pricing of the laptops in the region. So in the meantime, let’s take a look at their specifications and features.

Huawei MateBook 16s, MateBook D16 specs & features

Starting with the MateBook 16s, it offers a 16-inch IPS LCD display that has a 2520 x 1680 pixels screen resolution, a 3:2 aspect, 300 nits of brightness, and a 1500:1 ratio. The panel also offers full coverage of the sRGB color gamut.

These machines come configured with 12th generation Intel Core H series processors. The base configuration has an Intel i5-12500H, while the top end comes equipped with i9-12900H. For graphics, the device is equipped with Intel Iris Xe graphics.

It is offered with 16GB of LPDDR4x dual-channel RAM and up to 1TB NVMe PCI storage. It is powered by an 84Wh battery and comes with a 135W charging in the box.

Coming to the MateBook D16, the device features a 16-inch display offering 1920 x 1200 pixels resolution along with 300 nits maximum brightness, 100% sRGB coverage, and a contrast ratio of 1200:1.

It is offered in two processor configurations – Intel Core i5-12500H or the Intel Core i7-12700H processors. Both bring the Intel Iris Xe for graphics support. As for the memory, there’s 16GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 512GB of NVMe PCIe storage. It is powered by a 60Wh battery and comes with a 65W charger in the retail box.

Huawei has launched a few new laptops in the Chinese market in two different screen sizes of 16-inch and 14-inch. The company has launched two laptops each for both these screen sizes in China.

As the name indicates, the laptop comes with a 16-inch touchscreen IPS LCD display that offers a 2520 x 1680 pixels screen resolution, a 3:2 aspect, 300 nits of brightness, and 1500:1 contrast along with support for 100% sRGB color gamut.

Under the hood, the device is powered by the 12th generation Intel Core H series processors, ranging from Core i5-12500H to Core i9-12900H. There’s no dedicated GPU, but the graphics are handled by the Intel Iris Xe graphics processor.

Coming to the memory, the laptop model packs 16GB of LPDDR4x RAM and offers two options in terms of internal memory — 512GB or 1TB NVMe PCI. It is powered by an 84Wh battery and comes with a 135W charging in the box.

The Huawei MateBook 16s is priced at 6,999 yuan (~$1,050) for the Core i5-powered model, while the Core i7-powered model costs 7,999 yuan (~$1,200). The top-end model powered by the Core i9 processor is priced at 9,999 yuan (~$1,500).

On the other hand, the Huawei MateBook D16 features a 16-inch display but offers a 1920 x 1200 pixels screen resolution, 300 nits maximum brightness, 100% sRGB coverage, and a contrast ratio of 1200:1.
