Huawei has introduced a new Light Blue color variant for the MatePad Pro 13.2 2025 tablet. The new option, available for the PaperMatte edition, features a silk-texture design that offers a softer, smoother feel.

The Light Blue model, officially called Feitianqing, uses 0.5mm aviation-grade ultra-thin glass fiber for added durability. The rear panel combines natural texture with multiple optical coatings to create a visual effect similar to real silk.

The device is also the first in the MatePad series to come pre-installed with the stable HarmonyOS 5.0 operating system. HarmonyOS 5.0 provides a PC-like user experience with features such as multi-window support, panoramic multi-window, and air-gesture file sharing for quick media transfer between devices.

Huawei has also enhanced the Celia AI virtual assistant. It now offers more intelligent and productive support for tasks like meetings, calls, and office-related functions.

The rest of the specifications remain unchanged from the standard model. The tablet features a 13.2-inch PaperMatte display that minimizes light interference and improves readability and touch interaction. The screen offers a 2880 x 1920 pixels resolution with a 144Hz refresh rate.

The MatePad Pro 13.2 Light Blue edition comes with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It is powered by a 10,100mAh battery. The tablet includes a dual rear camera system with a 50MP main camera and an 8MP ultrawide lens, along with a 16MP front-facing camera.

Pricing & availability

The new Light Blue variant of the Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2 is priced at 6299 yuan. It will go on sale starting June 18 via Huawei’s VMall online store. Alongside this new color option, Huawei has also introduced the Huawei Pura 80 Pro series and Pura 80 Ultra smartphones with Kirin 9020 processors and powerful camera systems.

Huawei is taking foldables to the next level—literally. The Mate XT Ultimate Design, the world’s first production-ready tri-fold smartphone, is officially launching for global markets. After its China debut last year, the device is now hitting Europe, Malaysia, and beyond, bringing an ultra-thin yet ultra-capable design to users worldwide.

The Mate XT Ultimate features a tri-fold display that transitions from a 6.4-inch FHD+ screen when folded to a 10.2-inch 3K display when fully expanded. It has an ultra-thin 3.6mm design when open and improved durability with Huawei’s precision hinge system and reinforced ultra-thin glass (UTG) for better resistance to bending stress.

Under the hood, the Mate XT doesn’t skimp on performance. It packs a 90Hz LTPO display, 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of storage, running EMUI 14 on Android 14. The tablet also comes with professional apps like Huawei Notes and GoPaint, enhancing productivity and creativity. It supports the 3rd-gen M-Pencil with ultra-low latency for precise input.

The Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2 (2025) starts at €1,049 in Europe, while the PaperMatte version is priced at €1,199.

Huawei FreeArc

Huawei has entered the open-ear audio market with the FreeArc, its first hooked earbuds. It features a unique C-bridge design, a 0.7mm nickel-titanium memory alloy for a secure fit, and IP57 water resistance, making it ideal for sports and outdoor use.

It comes with ultra-soft liquid silicone for added comfort and equips a 17×12 mm high-sensitivity driver, a dynamic bass algorithm, and an Adaptive Equal-loudness Algorithm for rich audio performance.

Huawei Band 10

Huawei has also introduced the Band 10, a lightweight smart band with a 1.47-inch AMOLED display housed in a 15g aluminum alloy frame. It focuses on wellness tracking, offering 24/7 heart rate monitoring, sleep analysis, HRV tracking, pulse wave arrhythmia detection, and stress management.

The smart band features an Enhanced Sleep Health Assistant for personalized insights and an Emotional Wellbeing Assistant that tracks physiological changes through real-time health data. It also includes interactive panda-themed watch faces that reflect mood shifts and support app customization.

Designed for fitness enthusiasts, it supports 100 sports modes, features 5ATM water resistance, and offers a 14-day battery life with fast charging that provides two days of use in just five minutes.

For those unfamiliar, the HarmonyOS NEXT is independent of Android or it doesn’t support any Android codes or apps. Instead, it uses Huawei’s self-developed OS components like Harmony kernel which is claimed to be 3x more efficient than Linux.

That said, it will be interesting to see how the company manages to boost performance and fluency across its ecosystem with HarmonyOS NEXT, especially when compared to competitors running on Android.

Significant in context, we have already seen the first gaming results for Honor of Kings running natively on HarmonyOS NEXT. While the game is currently under beta testing, the performance already matches what many high-end Android phones deliver.

For those concerned about the app ecosystem, Huawei’s self-developed operating system already has more than 10,000 apps which reportedly meets nearly all use cases. There will likely be more apps going forward as HarmonyOS NEXT rolls out as a stable version and reaches more devices.

Huawei has begun rolling out the latest HarmonyOS 4.2 update for its MatePad Pro tablets, specifically the MatePad Pro 13.2 and MatePad Pro 11 models from 2024, currently available in China. This new update aims to make the tablets easier to use and more secure.

Users need at least 8GB of free storage to install the update, which is version 4.2.0.208. The tablets must be already operating on earlier versions like 4.0.0.157 or 4.2.0.202 to be eligible for the upgrade.

The HarmonyOS 4.2 update brings several noticeable improvements. It makes the tablet’s gestures and animations smoother, which should make using the device feel more fluid. The update also introduces a feature that changes the background look of the control menu as you use it, adding a nice touch to the visual experience.

Huawei launched the MatePad Pro 13.2″ back in September last year with the 7nm Kirin 9000s chip, the one that powers the Huawei Mate 60 series. One limitation of this tablet is the absence of cellular connectivity. Now according to ITHome, the tablet is fixing that with a SIM card version.

You’ll now get SIM card support for an additional 1800 Yuan (~$248)

According to the publication, the SIM card version with 12GB + 512GB configuration of the tablet costs 7499 Yuan (around $1037) whereas the regular version without cellular connectivity had an initial price of 5699 Yuan (around $788). Notably, the new SIM card version is only available in the Black color option, whereas the regular one also comes in Blue and White options alongside the Black one.

Having said that, the SIM card version of the MatePad Pro 13″ (review) tablet does not include any additional changes on the inside as compared to the original version.

This tablet from Huawei equips a 2880×1920 resolution (~262 PPI density) OLED display with 144Hz refresh rate, 360Hz touch sampling rate, and 1440 Hz (high-frequency) PWM dimming, which reduces the risk of eye strain on prolonged usage. The panel reaches 1000 nits of peak brightness. Additionally, this tablet looks good with the 94% screen-to-body ratio, thanks to the narrow borders around the display.

A notable aspect of this tablet is its M-Pen which uses Huawei’s “StarLight” technology and offers over 10,000 levels of pressure sensitivity and latency that goes as low as 0ms. The company noted during the launch that the accuracy of their M-Pen is 20% higher than the second-generation Apple Pencil suggesting that users can expect an enhanced experience compared to the latter.

This 5.5mm thin tablet packs a 10,100mAh battery and supports 88W fast charging. For sustained performance, it equips a 52000m㎡ graphite sheet and an additional VC liquid cooling.

Last month, Huawei introduced the MatePad Pro 13.2 tablet in the global market featuring a large 13.2-inch OLED screen and Huawei’s in-house Kirin 9000s SoC. However, it has been pointed out by ITHome that in some regions, the tablet features an unknown Huawei chip.

As per the report, the MatePad 13.2 in Malaysia, Italy, and Saudi Arabia features an eight-core processor called the Kirin 9000W. Currently, it is unclear how this chip differs from the Kirin 9000s.

Other features onboard the tablet are the same, meaning that it features a 13.2-inch flexible OLED screen with 2,880 x 1,920 pixels resolution, 1,000 nits peak brightness, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 94 percent screen-to-body ratio. It is also compatible with an M-pen stylus with 10,000 levels of pressure and 0ms low latency.

The rear panel of the tablet features a circular camera module that accommodates 13MP and 8MP sensors. Additionally, there is a 16MP front-facing camera paired with a Time-of-Flight (ToF) unit. In terms of audio capabilities, the tablet is outfitted with six dual-channel speakers, providing support for Spatial Audio.

It comes with a maximum of 12GB RAM and up to 512GB of storage. The device features a 52000mm2 VC liquid cooling system for effective heat dissipation. The first impression I got from this tablet is that, it is truly a phenomenal product, it is 5.5mm thick and weighs only 580g, a lot thinner and lighter than a Macbook Air, also thinner than most foldable phones out there. We got the green color, it is very refreshing, just like the Mate 60 Pro.

Over the top, It’s a 3:2, 94% screen-to-body ratio. Visually, this 2.8K 1000 nits peak brightness OLED panel has excellent visuals and viewing angles, the brightness and 144Hz refresh rate are also really outstanding features. We normally hold the tablet like this, facing yourself, as a screen to see some pictures or watch videos.

But once you put it down on the table for writing and drawing, the difference it makes is so obvious, that you will immediately know how good the viewing angle is. This Matepad Pro has 262PPi and also supports P3 wide color gamut, so it has surpassed the iPad Pro when we talk about screen quality.

The Anti-glare performance on this tablet is also the best, as we put the tablet and some other products together side by side, when the light shines on them, you can clearly see the screen has very little reflection. Therefore, if you need to use the tablet outdoors, this will be very helpful. A side note to this is that there should be a lot of work done to a good screen, which will naturally make you want to work on it a lot.

Now the bezels on each side are equal and very very narrow, if you have watched a lot of tablet reviews, you would appreciate such an astonishing thin bezel. Compared to the iPad mini we have here, there is just a clear gap between them. This tablet has also done an excellent job in terms of eliminating the unintended touch at the edges, when you hold the tablet in one hand while operating on it with another hand, no problem at all.

Productivity

When we talk about utilizing a tablet for work, many people would doubt it, because it might just end up like another iPad resting in the corner of the room. But, not for this tablet! There is a really good keyboard that goes perfectly with it, this keyboard connects to the tablet by Bluetooth and has its own battery inside, which means you can just pull it out, put it anywhere, and then use it as a real wireless keyboard. And there is no contact pin on it, so even if it’s connected to the tablet, it is still a wireless keyboard, how innovative that is! The keyboard comes with four rubber feet, so wherever it is placed, it will not slip away, this is a very thoughtful design.

The other feature that is worth talking about is the massive touchpad here, it is not only big, the feedback is also excellent. Compared to some lousy touchpads out there, or even some on the Windows laptop, the tactile feedback is very satisfying, and you can click anywhere, including the two upper corners. Well for the tracking, I would say they are better than most, but still have a very slight lag or traveling, but if you can get used to it, then there shouldn’t be any problem at all.

Some of the keys are also customized, such as the Enter key can be the shutter button in the camera app. The Home button is taken place by the HarmonyOS button, which can take you back to the home screen. Also, you can press this key to go to the file transfer app, and then press this key to do audio-to-text input. If you have a Huawei phone, put it on the touchpad, and then they will be automatically connected to fulfill a lot of tasks, like picking and dragging files between each other, this is the power of the eco-system.

The other half of the keyboard is for protective use and serves as a stand. It is also very thin and light, and can be attached to the tablet pretty snug and fit. If you want to have a comfortable viewing angle, then tilt it back to 45 degrees like this is nice and easy. But if you are tall or sitting on a high chair, or you need to be in the creator mode, then a bigger force is needed to push it further. And once it’s in position, the resistance within the hinge is strong enough to hold it very stable. I think it is another very thoughtful design.  

App Support

The other things that stop people from using a tablet as a workstation is the app support because normally they are poorly optimized for smaller screens. But since this tablet has a 13.2-inch screen, just like a portable laptop, it can fulfill all those tasks as well. HUAWEI has put a lot of effort into the HarmonyOS to seamlessly bring the software experience onto it.

At this point, you can pair it up with a mouse via Bluetooth, to have a better laptop-like UI and UX. Take this WPS as an example, the buttons lineup is no different from the ones on the laptop, whereas it is smaller and more spread out on a normal tablet, this makes working on docs and files a lot more intuitive. And there are also some other apps that have PC-like versions, such as the CAJviewer. But please note that there are apps that only work in certain areas, so maybe you will have different ones.

So this tablet is meant to be carried around with you, when you have some files on the phone or on this tablet, you can use the smart-connect on this screen to work seamlessly with each other. This can help you a lot with file transfer.

Unlike some note apps that can only do simple input, HUAWEI has created this feature Note app for many purposes. If you do a lot of note-taking or drawing, you know that you need a good pen, this M-Pencil with Nearlink tech built-in goes really well with the tablet. It supports 10000 levels of pressure sensitivity, much better than the last gen. Then if you want to write, you can utilize the white tip, it has a certain dampening to it, making writing more like it is on a real paper.

Whereas the transparent tip is smoother and you can see every move better, so it’s suitable for drawing. Other features like auto-adjusting handwriting and drawing are such life-saving functions, that you will love it! Now when you finish the note, you can save it in different formats, so the experience is much better than the iPad already.

The other use scenario is to handwrite info in the search column if you don’t have the keyboard at the side, but the writing area is limited to around the column area first, then once the handwriting mode is activated, the whole screen becomes a writing area, and I found that my writing is 100% recognizable, which is awesome! 

This pencil has no port for charging, the only way to juice it up is to charge it when it’s attached to this tablet. But in order to save the tablet’s battery, when the pencil has a battery level above 80%, it just won’t charge, but you can also change it in the settings.

Other Features

We haven’t talked much about the hardware and specs here, simply because you have a very clear image of how capable it is through those features we mentioned, and that is the amazing part of a top-tier product, you never need to worry about anything, like ever!

It has been so long since we saw such a powerful tablet/laptop, this is a 13.2-inch workstation that has optimized functions and apps for all kinds of use. There are certain restrictions on the app diversity for sure, but HUAWEI has put tons of effort into the basics, making the keyboard, the pencil, the note app, etc, a lot better than most. If you have a HUAWEI phone, you will find this Matepad Pro a great companion for your work and daily life.

It’s not able to say with complete certainty that the chip inside is the Kirin 9000s… But based on our review and testing results, it probably is. Now the tablet is available worldwide. Huawei held an event in Dubai today where it launched new devices. The brand has introduced its flagship MatePad Pro 13.2 tablet in the global markets. It was released in China in September of this year. The device retains the same top-of-the-line specifications as its Chinese counterpart. The Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2 competes against the likes of the iPad Pro, and Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra in the market.

As the name suggests, the Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2 has a large 13.2-inch screen with a notch on its right bezel. It is the world’s first tablet with a flexible OLED panel. The display offers a resolution of 2,880 x 1,920 pixels along with 1,000 nits peak brightness, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 94 percent screen-to-body ratio. It is also compatible with M-pen stylus with 10,000 levels of pressure and 0ms low latency. 

The MatePad Pro 13.2 is touted to be the thinnest and lightest tablet considering its large size. It has a circular camera module on the back panel housing 13MP and 8MP sensors. There is a 16MP front-facing snapper along with a ToF unit. On the audio front, the tablet is equipped with six dual-channel speakers with support for Spatial Audio. 

Under the hood, the Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2 is powered by a Kirin 9000s processor. It packs up to 12GB RAM and up to 512GB storage. The device is equipped with a 52000mm2 VC liquid cooling for heat dissipation. The tablet is backed by a 10,100mAh battery unit with support for 88W fast charging. Software-wise, the MatePad Pro 13.2 runs on HarmonyOS 4 out of the box. It packs various features like floating windows, WPS office, and more.

The Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2 starts at €999 for the 12GB + 256GB model whereas the 12GB + 512GB variant costs €1,199. The Smart Magnetic Keyboard and the M-Pencil are priced at €199 and €99 respectively. The tablet will go up for pre-orders on January 8 with shipments commencing from January 22 in Europe.

The Chinese tech giant’s latest tablet model features a tall 13.2-inch display. Yu Chengdong, Huawei’s Consumer Chief, stated that the MatePad Pro 13.2″ is the world’s first tablet to sport a flexible OLED panel. This screen features a resolution of 2880 x 1920 pixels with a wide P3 color gamut, a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1, a peak brightness of 1000 nits, a 3:2 aspect ratio, a 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, and Rheinland Global Eye Protection 3.0 certification.

The tablet adopts an edge-to-edge screen design from the front, while the rear features a sleek design and a circular camera module. Notably, it also features the highest screen-to-body ratio in the industry (94 percent). The front also has minimal bezels on the side, a notch on the top, and a thin design. The MatePad Pro 13.2″ weighs just 580 grams and measures an impressive 5.5mm in thickness. Huawei claims that it is the world’s thinnest and lightest tablet for its large size.

A massive 10,100mAh battery pack powers the tablet that supports 88W fast charging as well. In 40 minutes of charging, the device can hit 85 percent charge, while a full charge takes around 65 minutes.

For audio, the Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2 is equipped with 6 dual-channel speakers (dual high frequency and 4 low frequency), supports spatial audio, and Huawei Sound certification. The front houses a 16-megapixel and a ToF sensor, while the rear features a 13-megapixel + 8-megapixel dual camera setup. Other notable features include Bluetooth 5.2, AAC, and LDAC codecs. The device runs on HarmonyOS 4 out of the box and also arrives with the company’s third-gen M-Pen stylus.

This pen uses StarLight technology with over 10,000 levels of pressure and its latency can hit as low as 0ms. As per the official notes, the M-Pen stylus is fast and can offer an improved writing and drawing experience than its predecessor. The stylus was compared to the Apple Pen, with Huawei claiming that the accuracy is 20 percent higher than the 2nd gen Apple Pen. Paired with the tall display, creative users can expect a smooth experience with the new stylus.
