According to a Weibo post, a smartphone codenamed Monica is launching this month which will be going on sale in different Huawei retail stores.

The Monica is expected to be available on offline Huawei stores starting August 20. However, it is still uncertain if this is a Huawei model or a phone from another brand. Also, there’s no word available on the specifications and pricing of this smartphone.

Huawei recently launched the P50 series, and there’s no news of the company launching any other smartphone for a while now. So we can speculate that Huawei is planning to partner with other brands to showcase their products in its store and even sell them.

There is another possibility that this Monica smartphone could have been developed in partnership with Huawei. The smartphone could be using some component from Huawei technologies, or it could run Harmony OS. If the phone is indeed running on Huawei’s HarmonyOS, it kind of makes sense on why Huawei will be selling third-party smartphones in its retail stores.

Another tipster hinted that three new products are scheduled to launch that might be sold through Huawei’s retail network. The tipster suggests that third-party operators and small vendors make these products. Also, we don’t know what these three products will be, so we might have to wait for an official announcement.
