OpenAI’s ChatGPT is the AI of the hour, and unless you’ve been living under a rock, you must have heard about it or used it. The chatbot has been making headlines with its clever answers, and companies like Google rushed to create their own versions but haven’t made much progress (yet). Now, it seems that the Chinese behemoth Huawei is also entering the race, aiming to challenge OpenAI with its own version of the chatbot, potentially named NetGPT. The company recently submitted a trademark application for the name to China’s trademark patent office.

NetGPT could be Huawei’s own AI Chatbot

As spotted by Huawei Central, Huawei has apparently applied for the registration of the “Huawei NetGPT” trademark at China’s trademark patent office. The trademark falls under Class 9, which includes scientific instruments, and it’s currently listed as pending. Apart from this, there’s no information available about NetGPT.
