<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/huawei/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Huawei</a> held a launch event yesterday in Bangkok, Thailand, to introduce a range of smartwatches, including the Watch Ultimate Design. The MatePad Pro Max also launched as the world’s thinnest flagship tablet.</p>

<p>The sole smartphone entry at the event is the Huawei nova 15 Max, which mirrors the Chinese <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-enjoy-90-pro-max/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Huawei Enjoy 90 Pro Max</a>, but with software and storage tweaks for global markets.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Huawei-Nova-15-Max-launch-specs-price.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei Nova 15 Max launch specs price" class="wp-image-737615" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Huawei-Nova-15-Max-launch-specs-price.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Huawei-Nova-15-Max-launch-specs-price-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Huawei-Nova-15-Max-launch-specs-price-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Huawei-Nova-15-Max-launch-specs-price-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Huawei-Nova-15-Max-launch-specs-price-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure></div>

<p>Huawei launched the nova 15 Max globally in a single 256GB variant. Instead of shipping with its proprietary HarmonyOS 6, the nova 15 Max runs EMUI 14.2 out of the box. That’s not particularly surprising, since Huawei continues to keep HarmonyOS largely limited to China while relying on EMUI for international devices.</p>

<p>Huawei hasn’t officially confirmed the chipset on its global website yet, but the Chinese model uses the Kirin 8000 processor.</p>

<h2><strong>Huawei nova 15 Max Specifications&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>The Huawei nova 15 Max features a large 6.84-inch OLED display with a resolution of 2756 x 1272. It also supports a 120Hz refresh rate and 2160Hz PWM dimming for a flicker-free experience.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The phone packs an 8500mAh battery, which Huawei pairs with 40W fast charging. </p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Huawei-Nova-15-Max-Camera.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei Nova 15 Max Camera" class="wp-image-737616" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Huawei-Nova-15-Max-Camera.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Huawei-Nova-15-Max-Camera-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Huawei-Nova-15-Max-Camera-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Huawei-Nova-15-Max-Camera-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/Huawei-Nova-15-Max-Camera-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /></figure>

<p>On the camera side, Huawei is keeping things relatively simple. The phone includes a dual rear camera system consisting of a 50-megapixel RYYB main sensor alongside a secondary 2-megapixel camera.&nbsp;</p>

<p>One of the more distinctive additions is the customizable “X button” located on the side of the device. Huawei says the button can be used to quickly access commonly used functions and apps. It can also control smart devices like televisions and air conditioners, trigger emergency contact calls with one press, or instantly launch tools such as the flashlight, camera, calculator, or calendar.</p>

<p>The Huawei nova 15 Max is available in Blush Gold, Golden Black, and Lake Cyan colors in select EU countries. It’s priced at  €449.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/huawei/">Huawei</a> has started teasing the Nova 15 Max, confirming it will be unveiled at a global launch event in Bangkok on May 7, 2026. The phone will join the rest of the Nova 15 lineup, which already includes the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/12/22/huawei-nova-15-launched-specs-price/">standard</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/12/22/huawei-nova-15-pro-and-ultra-launched-specs-price/">Pro, and Ultra</a> models that debuted in China late last year.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/HHJLIdOWEAAvvc3-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-736997" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/HHJLIdOWEAAvvc3-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/HHJLIdOWEAAvvc3-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/HHJLIdOWEAAvvc3-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/HHJLIdOWEAAvvc3-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/HHJLIdOWEAAvvc3-2048x1152.jpg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/HHJLIdOWEAAvvc3-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/HHJLIdOWEAAvvc3-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/HHJLIdOWEAAvvc3-1920x1080.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/05/HHJLIdOWEAAvvc3-746x420.jpg 746w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>The company has already shared a few official images and some early details. The Nova 15 Max is set to pack a massive 8,500mAh battery pack, which is unusually large even by current standards. If it performs as expected, it could easily stretch beyond a full day, possibly even two for lighter users.</p>

<p>Huawei is also highlighting a 50MP RYYB main camera, which should help with low-light performance, along with stereo speakers. The design is very different compared to the rest of the Nova 15 series, at least from what has been shown so far. Color options have been confirmed as well.</p>

</figure>

<p>The Nova 15 Max is expected to be closely related to the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/03/23/huawei-enjoy-90-pro-max-launched-with-kirin-8000-chip-8500mah-battery/">Enjoy 90 Pro Max</a>, which launched in China earlier this year. That device comes with a 6.84-inch AMOLED display, Kirin 8000 chipset, 40W charging, and basic but usable cameras.</p>

<p>So this looks like a familiar strategy. Take an existing model, tweak it slightly, and position it for global markets under a different name. In this case, the big selling point is clearly battery life.</p>

<p>The phone is expected to sit somewhere in the mid-range segment, aimed at users who care more about endurance and screen size than flagship-level performance.</p>

<p>Huawei is also expected to announce a few other products at the same event, including the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/04/20/huawei-debuts-watch-fit-5-series-with-3000-nit-amoled-2-5d-glass-up-to-10-day-battery/">Watch Fit 5 series</a> and a new MatePad Pro Max tablet, so May 7 could end up being fairly packed.</p>

<p>With the launch just around the corner, more details around pricing, storage variants, and availability should not be too far away. If the battery holds up in real use, the Nova 15 Max could end up being one of the more interesting endurance-focused phones this year.</p>
