<p><a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/huawei">Huawei</a> has relaunched the Nova 8 SE smartphone in China. Recall that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-nova-8-se-4g/">Huawei Nova 8 SE</a> was <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/11/26/huawei-nova-8-se-4g-launched-with-kirin-710a-64mp-quad-cameras-66w-fast-charging/">first launched in November 2021</a> powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 710A SoC. Launching a refurbished version of the smartphone is a testament of the model&#8217;s high resale value. The new Nova 8 SE is presently available on Huawei’s mall starting at 1,099 yuan ($159). For a devcie with a base memory option of 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, this is an incredible price tag. </p>

<p>The refurbished model retain the design and specs of the original model. To recall, the Huawei Nova 8 SE uses a 6.5-inch OLED water drop screen. The device packs a Quad camera setup at the rear comprising a 64MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide angle, 2MP depth of field, and a 2MP macro sensor. The device crams a decent 3,800mAh battery under the hood with support for 66W fast charging. The Huawei Nova 8 SE expectedly runs on HarmonyOS and the phone weighs about 180g. The phone is 7.5mm thick and the lowest memory/ storage configuration is 8GB/ 128GB.</p>

<h2><strong>Huawei Nova 8 SE refurbished version arrives with a cheaper price tag</strong></h2>

<p>As a result of the stringent chip embargo placed on Huawei by the United States government since 2020, Huawei has continued to evolve new options to remain afloat. The Kirin 710 was first released in 2018. The current Kirin 710A chipset is manufactured through SMIC’s 14nm process. It is equipped with a 4-core A73 clocked at 2.0GHz and a 4-core A53 clocked at 1.7GHz. This is atop a Mali G51-MP4 GPU.</p>

<p>The Huawei Nova 8 SE starts at 1,099 yuan (~$159) for the 8GB+128GB version. The original price of the particular model is 2,099 yuan (~$303). Huawei is yet to provide the optics of the global launch of the Nova 8 SE.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/HarmonyOS-3-1024x576.jpg?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-495289" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/HarmonyOS-3-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/HarmonyOS-3-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/HarmonyOS-3-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/HarmonyOS-3-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/HarmonyOS-3-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/HarmonyOS-3-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/HarmonyOS-3.jpg 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>As reported by <a href="https://www.ithome.com/0/653/455.htm">ITHome</a>, the spokesperson noted that <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/harmonyos-3/">HarmonyOS 3</a> Public Beta will be available for the 4th batch of Huawei devices starting this November. Owners of these 3 <a href="https://www.ithome.com/0/653/455.htm">Huawei</a> smartphones (Huawei Nova 8, Nova 8 Pro, Nova 8 Pro 4G) will be able to apply for HarmonyOS 3 Public Beta by the end of this November, whilst for the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-nova-8-se/">Huawei nova 8 SE</a> and Huawei Nova 8 SE Vitality Edition, the HarmonyOS 3 Public Beta will be available starting early 2023.</p>

<p>Besides these 5 Huawei devices, <a href="https://www.ithome.com/0/653/455.htm">Huawei</a> also earlier announced last week that <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/harmonyos-3/">HarmonyOS 3</a> Stable had been rolled out to 15 Huawei device models this November. The full list is linked in <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/11/13/3-year-old-huawei-mate-30-harmonyos-3-update/">this article here</a>.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="600" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/huawei-nova-8.png?x44794" alt="" class="wp-image-495462" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/huawei-nova-8.png 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/huawei-nova-8-300x300.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/huawei-nova-8-150x150.png 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/huawei-nova-8-420x420.png 420w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /><figcaption>Source: Huawei</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>For those unfamiliar with Huawei’s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/harmonyos/">HarmonyOS</a> software development rollout, it can be easily explained in 3 easy to read paragraphs.</p>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/harmonyos/">HarmonyOS</a> rollout is divided into 3 stages, a closed beta, a public beta, and a stable version rollout. In the closed beta version rollout, Huawei device users can opt-in for early access software development to try out the new features due to be added in the next major software update. Interested participants first need to go to settings and apply for the closed beta programme, and then once <a href="https://www.ithome.com/0/653/455.htm">Huawei</a> has approved the application, only then the closed beta update will roll out to the user’s device. Normally, only 2000 users will be selected for the closed beta programme.</p>

<p>For the next stage – the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/harmonyos/">HarmonyOS</a> public beta rollout, there is no limit to how many Huawei users can join the programme. Users can opt-in for the update via settings at any time. However, <a href="https://www.ithome.com/0/653/455.htm">Huawei</a> does suggest users who opt-in for the public beta back up their devices beforehand, as it is still not a stable release. Just like the closed beta, Huawei users can experience upcoming software features before the stable release and the main purpose of releasing a public beta first is to iron out any bugs and stability issues before rolling it out for all users.</p>

<p>In the final stage, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/harmonyos/">HarmonyOS</a> is rolled out to all Huawei device users with a stable version release. The update will include notable features found in the closed and public beta testing, as well as security updates, stability and bug fixes for all Huawei users over the air.</p>

<p>Huawei&#8217;s official HarmonyOS account on Weibo today made a new post today announcing that six more devices including the Huawei nova 8 SE have been updated to HarmonyOS 2. These six devices include both smartphones and tablets and have been listed below:</p>
<ul>
<li>Huawei nova 8 SE Vitality Edition</li>
<li>Huawei Tablet M5 Youth Edition 8 inches</li>
<li>Huawei Tablet M5 Youth 10.1 inches</li>
<li>Huawei Enjoy Tablet 10.1 inches</li>
<li>Honor Tablet 5 10.1 inches</li>
<li>Honor Tablet 5 8 inches</li>
</ul>
<p>According to feedback from many users earlier, your old phone will not only get several new features but also get a noticeable boost to performance and fluency, making it feel just like new again. It is, therefore, highly recommended to upgrade your device to the same. To do so, head over to Settings &gt; System and Updates &gt; Software Update &gt; Check for Updates.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-427471 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Huawei-NOva-8-SE.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei Nova 8 SE 4G" width="1008" height="636" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Huawei-NOva-8-SE.jpg 1008w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Huawei-NOva-8-SE-300x189.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Huawei-NOva-8-SE-768x485.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Huawei-NOva-8-SE-696x439.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Huawei-NOva-8-SE-666x420.jpg 666w" sizes="(max-width: 1008px) 100vw, 1008px" /></p>
<p>If you haven&#8217;t received it yet, you might want to head over to the My Huawei app and check out the &#8216;Upgrade Early Access&#8217; section. Do keep in mind that these steps are only valid for users in China as of now as that&#8217;s where the rollout is being done. Global users will likely have to wait a while.</p>
<p>HarmonyOS has now reached a total of 141 devices, including mobile phones, TVs, and tablets, and more are to follow.</p>

But you are in for a bunch of new phones this month. Here we are with another edition of upcoming <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/smartphone">Smartphones</a> for the month of November 2020. The list includes <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei">Huawei</a>, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/redmi">Redmi</a>, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/vivo">Vivo</a>, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/realme">Realme</a>, <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/moto">Moto</a>, and more. We are just 5 days into the month, and a bunch of devices have already been announced. So, stick around till the end to find out what phones are launching in the next few weeks.</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h3><strong>Huawei Nova 8 SE</strong></h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" width="1700" height="1080" class="wp-image-350149 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Huawei-Nova-8-SE-render.jpg?x44794" alt="&quot;&lt;yoastmark" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Huawei-Nova-8-SE-render.jpg 1700w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Huawei-Nova-8-SE-render-300x191.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Huawei-Nova-8-SE-render-768x488.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Huawei-Nova-8-SE-render-1024x651.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Huawei-Nova-8-SE-render-696x442.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Huawei-Nova-8-SE-render-1068x678.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/Huawei-Nova-8-SE-render-661x420.jpg 661w" sizes="(max-width: 1700px) 100vw, 1700px" /></p>
<p>Huawei will launch the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/huawei-nova-8-se">Nova 8 SE</a> in China on November 5. As <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/10/26/huawei-nova-8-se-full-specs-leaked-nova-8-series-and-honor-v40-tipped-to-launch-in-november/">reported</a> earlier, the device is likely to come in two variants. A recently leaked <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/04/huawei-nova-8-ses-new-leak-reveals-dimensity-800u-and-dimensity-720-cpu-variant/">spec-sheet</a> shows that the device will have two editions- One with <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/dimensity-720">Dimensity 720 SoC</a>, and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/dimensity-800u">Dimensity 800U SoC</a>. The former has 5G+4G SIM, while the latter has dual-5G support. Other expected features include a 6.5-inch OLED display, quad-camera with 64MP main lens, 16MP selfie shooter, 8GB RAM, 128GB storage,  3,800mAh battery with 66W fast charging. It will likely run EMUI 10.1 based on Android 10.</p>
<h3><strong>Redmi Note 9 series</strong></h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-341124" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/Redmi-Note-10.jpg?x44794" alt="Redmi Note 9" width="500" height="500" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/Redmi-Note-10.jpg 500w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/Redmi-Note-10-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/Redmi-Note-10-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/Redmi-Note-10-420x420.jpg 420w" sizes="(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px" /></p>
<p>Previously rumored to be the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/10/29/redmi-note-10-series-expected-specs-and-price-ahead-of-imminent-launch/">Redmi Note 10 series</a>, three new Smartphones(M2007J17C, M2007J22C, M2007J19C) are expected to be added to the Redmi Note 9 lineup in <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/01/redmi-to-launch-three-new-redmi-note-9-phones-in-china-and-not-the-redmi-note-10/">China</a>. Before you get confused, as of now, the new devices are likely headed to China. And doesn&#8217;t seem to resemble the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/?post_type=aps-products&amp;s=Redmi+Note+9">already available</a> ones. One of them likely has an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/03/alleged-redmi-note-9-series-china-lcd-panel-leak/">LCD</a> panel while the other has a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/03/redmi-note-9-5g-display-leak-reveals-high-refresh-rate-and-punch-hole-design/">high-refresh-rate screen</a>. And likely have brightness up to 450 nits, NTSC 84%, 1500:1 contrast ratio. As of now, we don&#8217;t have an exact date but they are expected to go official later this month.</p>
<h3><strong>Honor V40 Series</strong></h3>
<p>Although <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/01/honor-v40-series-specifications-tipped-likely-to-launch-in-december/">rumors</a> point to a December launch, Honor might jump the gun and bring it a month earlier as nothing is official yet. That said, the series will likely have two devices- V40 Pro, V40 Pro+. Expected features include a 6.72-inch FHD+ dual punch-hole curved display, 120Hz refresh rate, Dimensity 1000+SoC(V40 Pro), Kirin 9000 SoC(V40 Pro+), 50MP Sony IMX700 RYYB camera, 66W Wired SuperCharge, and 40W Wireless Charging.</p>
<h3><strong>Realme C17, X7 Pro</strong></h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-347845" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/Realme-C17-1.jpg?x44794" alt="honor v40 series" width="424" height="424" /><br />
Realme has been mum for a while in India which is very unlike the company. However, it is likely coming back with new devices- <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/10/26/realme-c17-india-launch-leak/">Realme C17</a> for India, and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/01/realme-x7-pro-5g-india-bis-certification/">Realme X7 Pro</a> for India, and the Global market. The devices will likely launch this month(at least the C17).
