Just recently at the launch of the P10, he hinted that the company was <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/03/25/completely-bezel-less-huawei-phone-pipeline-says-ceo-yu-chengdong/">working on a completely bezel-less phone</a> which would take on the likes of the upcoming Galaxy S8 as well as the old birds like the Xiaomi Mi Mix and LG G6. Again, the CEO has unveiled the lofty plans of the company regarding the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/03/24/huawei-p10-p10-plus-official-china-much-cheaper-european-pricing-less-color-shades/">P10 and P10 Plus flagships which were unveiled in China </a>a few days back.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2014/01/15/huawei-ceo-confirms-that-huawei-will-adopt-hisilicon-qualcomm-and-mediatek-chipset/huawei-ceo/" rel="attachment wp-att-19490"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-19490" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Huawei-CEO.jpg?x10805" alt="" width="630" height="420" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Huawei-CEO.jpg 630w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/Huawei-CEO-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 630px) 100vw, 630px" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Yu Chengdong recently disclosed that Huawei has set a tall target of 10 million-unit sales of the P10 and P10 Plus and even aim to surpass that figure in the long run. This sales target would have been easily achievable if only the design and hardware configuration of the P10 flagships were to be considered. The smartphones feature a design language and pack hardware which definitely elicits interests in them but the snag is their pricing, especially the P10 Plus.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/p1080422/" rel="attachment wp-att-120093"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-120093" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/P1080422-1024x576.jpg?x10805" alt="Huawei P10 Hands on" width="640" height="360" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/P1080422-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/P1080422-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/P1080422-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/P1080422.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></a></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>The Huawei P10 started at 3,788 Yuan ($550) in China for the base 4GB + 64GB variant which is okay for a flagship but then, the price went on to peak at 5,588 Yuan for the 6GB + 256GB version of the P10 Plus. In fact, the P10 Plus started at 4,388 Yuan ($637) for the 6GB + 64GB version. It is uncertain if the Chinese market is ready for such huge price of over 5,000 Yuan for a smartphone. The Chinese smartphone market is a highly competitive market which has seen most OEMs adjusting their prices in order to compete favourably.</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000">MUST READ:</span> <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/03/09/huawei-p10-review-premium-dual-camera-monster/">Huawei P10 Review: A Premium Dual Camera Monster</a></strong></p>
<p>Perhaps, Huawei would be banking on its overseas sales to achieve this figures. The P10 and P10 Plus was first launched in Europe at CES 2017 and even though the price tags were costlier than the China edition, the device has received lots of positive reviews. The price tags mean Huawei is all set to compete on a level playing field with Apple and Samsung which it trails behind in the global standings. We&#8217;ll just have to wait to see how this plays out in the long run.</p>

The new king in the P-series brings a number of new features and so far has been getting positive reviews.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">Huawei already announced the pricing for the P10 in Europe. The new flagship with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage will sell for 699 Euros (~$738/¥5160). However, the official price in Huawei&#8217;s home country, China, was not revealed.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify">A number of Chinese sites have been accepting pre-orders for the Huawei P10 with a deposit of ¥999 since they themselves do not know what price they will be getting it. The tradition is that Huawei phones are usually priced lesser in its home country than outside, so even with the deposit, they still won&#8217;t be paying as much as ¥5000.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify"><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-121819" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Huawei-P10-Price-2.jpg?x10805" alt="Huawei P10 Price 2" width="640" height="382" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Huawei-P10-Price-2.jpg 640w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Huawei-P10-Price-2-300x179.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: justify">According to info from an official distributor, the 4GB+64GB Huawei P10 will sell for ¥3699 (501 Euros/$535) while the 4GB+128GB version will sell for ¥4299 (582 Euros/$622). Considerably cheaper, right? But locals are not happy about the pricing.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify"><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-121818" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Huawei-P9-Price.jpg?x10805" alt="Huawei P9 Price" width="700" height="336" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Huawei-P9-Price.jpg 700w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/03/Huawei-P9-Price-300x144.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: justify">The reason is because the 4GB+64GB <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/huawei-p9">Huawei P9</a> currently sells for ¥3388 ($490). That is just ¥311 ($45) lesser than the P10 with the same memory configuration. So they are wondering why the Huawei P9 is still so expensive. When the P9 launched last year, the official price was ¥3688 ($533). Comparing it to the price of the P10, that is a difference of ¥11 ($1.60). There is also a rumor that the Huawei P10 Plus with 6GB of RAM and 256GB of storage is not more than ¥5000 ($723).</p>

<p style="text-align: justify">The Huawei P10 sports a 5.1-inch 1080p display, a Kirin 960 processor, an upgraded pair of Leica dual cameras on the rear (20MP+12MP) and an 8MP Leica camera up front as well. It&#8217;s fingerprint scanner is now in front and the battery has been bumped up to 3200mAh with Huawei&#8217;s SuperCharge technology.</p>

The ceramics White and green color is exclusively for the higher 4GB + 128GB model. On the other hand, the P10 Plus comes in 6GB + 128GB version as well as 6GB + 64GB storage and 6GB + 256GB emperor version. This configurations take things a lot further than the storage versions of the P10 Plus reeled out at MWC 2017. However, other specifications of the P10 and P10 Plus align with the ones we saw in Barcelona.
