Huawei, the China-based phone manufacturer is gearing up to launch its flagship series — Huawei P20 at a launch event on 27th March in Paris, France.

We already know that the series will consist of three devices — Huawei P20, P20 Pro, and P20 Lite. However, the latest report from China suggests that the company could add another variant as well — Huawei P20 Porsche Edition.

While there is no much information available about this Porsche Edition of the Huawei P20, the report indicates that the device will be pricey, exceeding the price point of 6,000 Yuan, which roughly converts to $949.

The major highlight of the Huawei P20 series will be its artificial intelligence system. The company will be using AI for the photography, which is said to provide better results than the recently launched Samsung’s Galaxy S9 series.

The Huawei P20 Pro will be the top-end model in the series and will come with three camera sensors on the back along with a dual-LED flash. Apart from the iPhone X-like notch on the display, the phone series is also expected to have 3D face recognition feature.

Earlier, the specifications of P20 Pro were leaked online, revealing that the triple camera configuration will pack 12MP + 16MP + 16MP shooters with OIS and f/1.8 aperture. At the front, the device packs a single 8MP camera sensor with f/2.0 aperture.

This Huawei P20 series is expected to be powered by the company’s latest HiSilicon Kirin 970 processor which comes with a built-in Neural Processing Unit (NPU). According to the company, it brings 25 times performance improvement compared to the previous generation chip.

Along with P20, the company is also expected to launch its bigger variant — Huawei P20 Pro. It is expected to have two models — 6GB RAM with 128GB storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB storage with support for expandable storage up to 256GB.

The previous leak suggested that the Huawei P20 will carry a 3,320mAh battery while the P20 Pro will pack a 4,000mAh battery. All the models in this lineup are expected to be running Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box with the company’s own EMUI 8.1 on top.

Huawei seems very confident about its upcoming flagship devices. Recently, Huawei CEO Richard Yu not only claimed that the upcoming P20 will be better than Apple‘s iPhone X but also stated that the company would leapfrog Apple in a year or two.
