It’s really going to be a large family, considering that it is said there are at least four different variants in the lineup, starting with the Standard and Lite editions, to the top-end Huawei P9 Max and Plus variants. Today, we have got some new information about these high-end powerful variants.

Latest reports suggest that the Huawei P9 Max and P9 Plus smartphone will have the same specifications as revealed in the AnTuTu listing yesterday. However, the biggest different between the two will be in screen size. The P9 Plus is expected to come with a 5.2-inch 1080p display, much like the other variants, however, the P9 Max will be the biggest in the lot with a massive 6.8-inch display. Given the large screen size, the display will sport a resolution of 2K.

Another highlight of the Max version will be the presence of pressure sensitive display. Huawei has a couple of phones with Force Touch displays, so it won’t be a surprise. Other features of the Max include dual cameras with Leica lens.

Now, coming to the pricing of the P9 Max, it is said that the phone will retail for a whopping 4088 Yuan ($633) while the P9 Plus should retail for 3688 Yuan ($570). The P9 Standard edition will retail for 3088 Yuan ($477) while the P9 Lite at 1888 Yuan ($292).

To recap, yesterday’s AnTuTu listing revealed powerful hardware inside the P9 Max and Plus models. The phone will come with Kirin 955 chip (upgraded version of Kirin 950) with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. there will be 13MP dual rear cameras with an 8MP front facing shooter. The phone was running on the new Android 6.0 Marshmallow platform.

The Huawei P9 launch event is exactly a week away. So stay tuned for more details.

Huawei was expected to launch its flagship P9 smartphone sometime in April this year. Today, the company has sent out invites for an event which is scheduled for 6th April in London. According to our expectations, the two circles on top of the invite probably hints at the dual rear camera setup that the phone is rumored to come with.

To boost the camera quality on its phones, the company tied partnership with Leica last month and we may see the result of the partnership on the upcoming P9.

Specs-wise, the phone is supposed to come with powerful features. In fact, it is said that the P9 will come in four different variants, namely P9 standard edition, P9 Lite, P9 Premium and P9 Max as per the recent rumors. The standard variant is expected to be powered by Kirin 950 SoC, packing 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, while the high-end could be powered by Kirin 955 SoC, packing 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The final model in the series is expected to be the large screen Huawei P9 Max sporting a 6-inch 2K display, Kirin 955, 4GB RAM and 64GB ROM.

Huawei is working hard to surpass its competitor Apple and Samsung in the coming years, so we can expect this device to be a beast and these rumors prove the same.

Expect more details in the next few days.

But according to reports from China, Huawei officials revealed that the release of the new smartphone was postponed by about a month due to some technical difficulties. This meant that we now had no idea when the company would finalize the release date of the device. But thanks to a reassuring tweet from Evleaks, it looks like Huawei P9 could launch early next month.

According to the tweet, Evleaks revealed that the Huawei P9 will release on April 6 which is a Wednesday. However, a few hours after tweeting this, evleaks quoted another tweet saying that the release date could actually be April 5 instead of April 6.

Huawei P9 launches Wednesday, April 6th.

— Evan Blass (@evleaks) March 6, 2016

He added that he may have messed up the calculations for the exact release date since he was only given the number of days until launch. Anyways, if true, we will be meeting the P9 flagship this April.

READ MORE: New Huawei P9 Renders Emerge

Specs-wise, the phone is supposed to come with powerful features. In fact, it is said that the P9 will come in four different variants, namely P9 standard edition, P9 Lite, P9 Premium and P9 Max.

Thanks to the numerous rumors that have been going around on the internet, we have some idea about the specs as well as the pricing of these four devices. The P9 standard edition is said to come with Kirin 950, the same chip that drives the Huawei Mate 8 while the P9 lite is supposed to come with a slower Snapdragon 650 chipset. The other two models will reportedly feature an enhanced version of the Kirin 950 chip, called as the Kirin 955.

As for the pricing, the P9 Max will be the costliest, and is said to retail at around $627, followed by P9 Premium edition at $565 approximately. The other two models, namely the P9 standard and P9 Lite will most likely retail at around $473 and $289 respectively. Other features common on all four models will be a fingerprint sensor as well as a dual camera setup.

Huawei managed to sell more than 109 million smartphones in 2015. The company is all set to increase this figure in 2016, as there are a number of devices in the pipeline that will meet us this year.

One of the devices that will launch sometime in the coming months is the Huawei P9. We have already learnt a lot of information about the device, thanks to the past rumors. Now, a new report have emerged citing a person with knowledge of the company’s plans, stating that the upcoming Huawei P9 flagship will come in four different version.

Apart from the regular version, the Huawei P9 will feature a ‘Lite’ version and a ‘Max’ version. The third model will be a premium device with high-end features, however, at the time of the report, the source was not entirely sure about premium version. However, if this models sees the light of the day, then it would come with a larger screen and better camera. In fact, it is said that the premium version would focus on the camera especially, with a possibility of a dual camera setup along with some additional features.

As for the release date, we may see these devices at MWC 2016 in Barcelona. However, its possible that the company might schedule an event sometime after MWC, in a separate launch event.

Apart from today’s report, the P9 was leaked in renders a few days earlier, which featured a physical home button. As for the specs, the phone is expected to come with a 5.2-inch FHD 1080p display, with Kirin 950 under the hood, 3000mAh battery and a whopping 6GB of RAM.

Hopefully, things will get clearer in the coming days. Stay tuned for more details.

This will be the next generation model of the P8 flagship which was announced back in May.

The Huawei P9 Max was recently spotted on AnTuTu featuring high-end specs (model number P950S). According to the benchmark listing, the phone will feature the latest Kirin 950 chipset, probably the second device to use it after Mate 8. Further, there will be 4GB of RAM inside with 64GB of internal storage. This is going to be a true phablet since the listing reveals that the P9 Max will feature a large 6.2-inch display. What’s even more interesting is that the resolution is going to be 2K (2560 x 1600 pixels) which goes against Huawei’s principle of 1080p being enough for smartphone displays. Plus, the phone was running on the latest Android 6.0 OS.

With such high-end benchmarks, the Huawei P9 Max managed to score well above 73,000 points on AnTuTu. But the 3D graphics score was 16,822 points which is below many flagships like the Meizu Pro 5. In fact, you can compare the P9 Max with Kirin 950 and Pro 5 with Exynos 7420 side by side from the images below.

Apart from today’s benchmark leak, previous rumors have said that the Huawei P9 Max will come with dual cameras at the back with a side mounted fingerprint sensor.
