Huawei has taken a more serious approach to its PC business since the trouble with its mobile phone business took a turn for the worse. Last year, it announced its first desktop computer, the MateStation B515. It has also released a couple of standalone monitors, with the latest ones being the MateView and MateView GT. Now, a new leak has revealed it will announce two new computer products next month.

According to serial leaker of Huawei-related news, Teme (@RODENT950), Huawei will launch an All-in-One PC and a printer next month. The tweet includes an image of the All-in-One and it looks just like the MateView monitor.

This is not the first time we have heard of a Huawei All-in-One PC. Back in December of 2020, it was reported that it had been granted a patent for the computer. Now it is ready to announce it after nine months.

Huawei will also announce a desktop printer along with the computer. While this will also be its first desktop computer, it isn’t its first printer. Back in 2018, Huawei announced a portable photo printer that uses ZINK inkless printing technology. With its first desktop printer, Huawei will be going against established brands such as HP, Canon, and Epson.

The leaker has also reaffirmed that the successor to the Nova 8 series is also on the way. An earlier report from last week said the Nova 9 series may launch in mid-September. The new Nova 9 series is coming 9 months after the Nova 8 5G and Nova 8 Pro 5G were announced, however, it may not have 5G like its predecessors.

Huawei has had to resort to launching phones with 4G processors as a result of the ban. Only a few devices with 5G have been announced and they usually arrive later than the 4G models.

A new report has revealed that Huawei holds a market share of just over 5 percent in Russia. As of 2020, about 1.66 million desktop and laptop computers were delivered to the nation, out of which over 80,000 units were shipped from the Chinese tech giant.

According to an IDC report, the Russian PC market saw an overall decline of 3.3 percent year on year in 2020. Dmitry Ilyin, senior analyst at IDC stated that “The share of consumer laptop models declined 1.5%, while consumer desktop models grew 18.0% compared to the fourth quarter of 2019. These indicators correlate well with the increased demand of the population for gaming desktops, the growing popularity of all-in-one and the interest in small desktop PCs.“

Furthermore, the IDC revealed the five leaders of the Russian personal computer market, which included HP with an 18.3 percent market share, Lenovo with 18 percent, Acer with 17.1 percent. Asus with 11.8 percent, an Huawei with 5.4 percent. The Chinese brand was also among the top five companies for the laptop segment. Dmitry further added that, “In the first quarter of 2021, the personal computer market is likely to see an increase in shipments year-on-year due to logistics problems and incomplete shipment of orders in the third and fourth quarters of 2020.”

For those unaware, Huawei is a major brand in the telecom and smartphone industries. Although it is also known to make laptops and, more recently, desktop PCs as well for enterprises and businesses. At the moment, the company is focusing more on expanding its presence in the cloud computing services market and other segments as its smartphone business has been impacted by the US sanctions.

It is no secret that Huawei had been working on a desktop grade PC for a while now. While leaks and rumors had revealed most of its key specs already, the company has now officially launched the MateStation B515 for the government offices and other enterprises.

The new desktop PC is not available for the commercial market and is being aimed at businesses only. Although, this doesn’t mean that the PC is by any means just basic, as it arrives with a powerful AMD Ryzen 7 4700G processor and a capable Ryzen 5 4600G, both of which are APUs that feature integrated Radeon graphics. Although, an option to upgrade to high performance discrete GPUs is also being offered. It is paired with either 8GB or 16GB of dual channel 3200MHz DDR4 RAM and the cabinet arrives as a set with a smart keyboard and mouse, and display as well. For storage, 1TB of memory is offered via hard drives along with 256GB or 512GB of SSD storage as well.

The cabinet that houses the PC components adopts a grille design on the front but otherwise features a minimalistic aesthetic with a single color scheme. It arrives in matte black, which adds to its business and formal look. The cabinet’s total capacity is just 8 liters, which saves about 2/3 of space over a traditional desktop PC. Huawei also paid special attention to thermal management, equipping hte system with an intelligent temperature control system, which can automatically adjust fan speeds to manage temperatures.

Arriving at the monitor, it is a 23.8 inch display with narrow bezels on every side and a high screen to body ratio of 90 percent, and a resolution of 1920x1080px. This display arrives with eye protection as well and has even passed the TÜV Rheinland international certification standards. Furthermore, the keyboard also arrives with a compact body with 2.5mm keystrokes on a scissor switch design and 16.05mm large keycaps.

Notably, the keyboard also has built in NFC, which can connect with smartphones through the shift key area, allowing for wireless data transfers from the smartphone to the computer. For security, the keyboard also offers a fingerprint scanner on the power button to safely boot up and unlock the system in a seamless manner.

For connectivity, the Huawei MateStation B515 offers USB Type C, support 9V/2A mobile phone fast charging, USB, HDMI, VGA serial port, and 2×2 dual antenna WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0 as well. Unfortunately, since the desktop PC is only available for enterprises, its official pricing was not revealed to the consumer market. But the estimate ranges from 4,999 Yuan to 8,999 Yuan (roughly 760 US Dollars to 1,370 US Dollars) over 5 different configurations.

Huawei has been long reported to enter the desktop PC market. There have been multiple leaks and rumors in the past few months regarding this computer. Recently, it even appeared in renders revealing its entire design. Now, it also gets 3C certification in China exposing its manufacturer.

Huawei has been selling laptops for a few years now. All of them are powered by Intel or AMD chipsets and mostly run Microsoft Windows. For those aware, there are some laptop models by the company with Ubuntu on-board.

But with its first desktop PC, the company is taking a different route. According to leaks, it will be powered by Huawei’s in-house 7nm HiSilcion Kunpeng 920 3211K processor paired with AMD Radeon 520 GPU. It will come equipped with 8GB RAM, 512GB Samsung SSD, and will run UOS (Unity Operating System), a Chinese Linux distro developed by UnionTech.

As per 3C certification, it is manufactured by Hongfujin Precision Electronics, a subsidiary of Hon Hai Precision, which is commonly known as Foxconn.

This machine is reported to be marketed as Qingyun W510. It will include a 23.8-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) monitor with 70% color gamut, a keyboard, and a mouse. For ports, it is said to feature 7 x USB Type-A, 1 x USB Type-C, 3.5mm headphone jack, and ethernet. It will also feature an optical drive.

Having said that, Huawei is yet to announce the launch date of its first desktop PC, which is reported to be made available only in certain provinces of China.
