March is only halfway through, and there are already several major launches planned, including the Vivo X300 Ultra and the OnePlus 15T. April could be just as busy, as a tipster has revealed a few smartphones scheduled to arrive next month.

According to Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the upcoming Oppo Find X9 Ultra, Oppo Find X9s Pro, and the long-rumored Huawei Pura 90 series are all expected to launch in April.

The list also includes a wide-form foldable Huawei Pura X2, along with two performance-focused phones expected to run on the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chip.

While Huawei has already confirmed that the Huawei Enjoy 90 series will launch this month, the company’s more premium announcements appear to be waiting until April.

What can you expect?

We already have some context on Oppo’s side. The Find X9s Pro is expected to be a compact phone with the Dimensity 9500 inside, while the X9 Ultra is tipped to be an imaging-focused flagship running on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.

As for Huawei, the standard Pura 90 is rumored to feature a 6.58-inch display. The higher-end models in the lineup could feature a larger 6.87-inch flat display designed to deliver a more premium look and feel.

The base model is expected to use the Kirin 9020 chip, while the Pro version may upgrade to the Kirin 9030. At the top of the lineup, the rumored Ultra model could run an even more powerful Kirin 9030 Pro.

Huawei’s foldable plans may also see an upgrade with the Pura X2. The device is expected to feature a wider foldable design compared with the previous generation and could include a 7.69-inch WQHD+ inner display alongside a 5.5-inch outer screen.

Huawei may also continue to focus heavily on camera technology. The foldable is tipped to feature a Red Maple quad-camera system consisting of a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 40-megapixel ultra-wide lens, an 8-megapixel telephoto camera, and a multispectral Red Maple primary color sensor.

A fresh leak has shed light on Huawei’s upcoming Pura 90 Ultra, hinting that the brand is preparing a strong upgrade in its premium smartphone lineup. At the same time, a schematic showcasing the Pura 90 Ultra has emerge to give an hint about its design. Here’s a look at the new details about Huwaei’s upcoming premium flagship phone.

Huawei Pura 90 Ultra camera specs, design emerge

According to information shared by the above Chinese tech blogger, the Huawei Pura 90 Ultra is expected to feature a powerful rear camera setup led by a 200-megapixel telephoto camera. This long-range sensor is said to be the SmartSens SCC80XS, manufactured using a 22nm process. The newer fabrication process is believed to help with better power efficiency, lower read noise, and improved dynamic range, which could translate into clearer zoom shots and better low-light performance.

The main camera is tipped to be a 50-megapixel 1-inch sensor with support for variable aperture. This combination is likely to offer greater control over depth and light intake, especially in challenging shooting conditions. Together, the primary and telephoto cameras indicate that Huawei is targeting users who value photography flexibility across focal lengths rather than just high megapixel counts.

Shown below is a concept image of the Pura 90 Ultra’s design shared by the same source. It carries forward Huawei’s signature triangular camera design while also aligning with the current horizontal camera layout trend. There is a possibility that the final design could be different from what’s depicted here.

As per other reports, the Huawei Pura 90 series is rumoured to return to flat displays, with screen sizes of 6.58 inches and 6.87 inches, along with 3D face recognition. It is expected to arrive with Huawei’s Kirin 9030 lineup. Reports suggest that the standard model may run on the Kirin 9030 chip, while the Pro and Ultra variants could feature the more powerful Kirin 9030 Pro.

The next-generation Pura series will ship with HarmonyOS 6.1, focusing on smoother multitasking and tighter device integration. The standard Pura 90 may pack around a 6,000mAh battery, while the Pro and Ultra versions could go up to 6,500mAh or even 7,000mAh. Fast charging support of 100W wired and 50W wireless is expected across the range.

Huawei is expected to launch the Pura 90 series in May, with prices in China likely starting around 5,499 Yuan (~$790) for the base model, scaling higher for the Ultra variant.

Most of the Ultra phones coming in 2026 are expected to launch with 200MP telephoto cameras. Xiaomi, for one, has already announced the 17 Ultra (review) with a 200MP telephoto camera. Meanwhile, Oppo and Vivo are also expected to feature a 200MP lens on their Find X9 Ultra and Vivo X300 Ultra, respectively.

A new leak from Digital Chat Station (DCS) now suggests that Huawei may also be looking to implement a 200MP telephoto solution on the Pura 90 Ultra.

Variable aperture + 200MP telephoto

According to DCS, one of the “top five manufacturers” is currently testing an imaging-focused flagship with a 200MP telephoto camera. 

The tipster didn’t name the device directly but shared a hint that the main camera features a 50MP, 1-inch sensor with a variable aperture. This combination already exists on the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra, making its successor the most obvious candidate.

Digital Chat Station adds that the 200MP telephoto sensor being tested has a 1/1.28-inch sensor size and supports 3.5x optical zoom.

The leak also reveals that Huawei is still deciding between two different sensors. The current engineering sample is undergoing A/B testing with a 40nm OV52A sensor and a more advanced 22nm SCC80XS sensor. Both sensors are the same physical size, but the 22nm option reportedly offers better hardware capabilities.

Last but not least, the leak hints that the Huawei Pura 90 Ultra could launch before China’s New Year. The Ultra is part of a lineup that is also expected to include Huawei Pura 90, Pura 90 Pro, and Pura 90 Pro Plus.

The latest leak arrives from known tipster Digital Chat Station, who shared the details on Weibo. The Chinese tech giant’s Pura 80 lineup was praised for its cutting edge photography system, and it seems like the successor will be even better. Huawei’s Pura 90 models are apparently being tested with a brand new 1-inch main camera sensor. It is unclear if this includes the base model as well. This might be a new lens system from SmartSense or OmniVision, although details are still sketchy.

However, the newer main camera will reportedly bring improved image quality, especially in low light. The Pura 90 series’ cameras could take less grainy shots with better details. So photography is enhanced regardless of the shooting conditions. There are even talks of a retractable lens system, but these are likely baseless rumors.

Apart from the new and improved main camera, the Huawei Pura 90 series might pack two periscope telephoto shooters, similar to its predecessors. One of these has a 200MP resolution while the other is a 50MP camera. The tipster believes that both of these are a large 1/1.28-inch sensor and will probably be featured on the higher end Pro and Ultra models.
