<p>For those unaware, the Chinese tech giant has been expanding its presence in the automobile industry in recent times. While it doesn&#8217;t directy manufacture vehicles, it does offer both hardware and software based solutions for smart cars to other car makers. This has it build connectivity based solutions along with self driving technology as well. Now, the brand is planning on selling cars from its 200 experience stores and is also expecting to expand to more than 1,000 stores by the end of this year.</p>
<p>According to latest news media from China (Via <a href="https://i.ifeng.com/c/86Mi62vDsOj" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">iFeng</a>), the company&#8217;s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/05/19/huawei-richard-yu-becomes-ceo-smart-car-solutions/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">CEO of Smart Car Solutions BU</a>, Richard Yu, has set a goal to sell 300,000 cars from its stores by the next year. The report arrives as Huawei has partnered with various car makers like <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/byd/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">BYD</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/baic/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">BAIC</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/mercedes-benz/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Mercedes-Benz</a>, and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/changan-automobile/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Changan</a>. At the moment, the company sells the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/04/20/huawei-starts-sale-seres-car-china-flagship-stores/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">SERES SF5 from its flagship stores in China</a>. So, this move is in line with its plans to include cars in its stores.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-279778 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Huawei-store-logo-official-featured-02.jpeg?x44794" alt="Huawei global flagship store in Shenzhen" width="2048" height="1513" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Huawei-store-logo-official-featured-02.jpeg 2048w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Huawei-store-logo-official-featured-02-300x222.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Huawei-store-logo-official-featured-02-768x567.jpeg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Huawei-store-logo-official-featured-02-1024x757.jpeg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Huawei-store-logo-official-featured-02-80x60.jpeg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Huawei-store-logo-official-featured-02-696x514.jpeg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Huawei-store-logo-official-featured-02-1068x789.jpeg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Huawei-store-logo-official-featured-02-569x420.jpeg 569w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/09/Huawei-store-logo-official-featured-02-1920x1418.jpeg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 2048px) 100vw, 2048px" /></p>
<p>The report also added that the SERES SF5 has already seen over 6,500 bookings within the first month. As Huawei is growing the smart car offerings in its stores, the company might soon branch out to include cars from other brands like Mercedes-Benz as well sometime in the future. But, that is just speculation so take it with a pinch of salt for now and stay tuned for more updates.</p>

<p>The Saudi government <a href="https://www.reuters.com/article/us-saudi-huawei-tech/huawei-to-open-its-biggest-flagship-store-outside-china-in-riyadh-idUSKBN29K1QQ">says</a> that <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei">Huawei</a> has signed a leasing contract with Saudi Arabia’s Kaden Investment. Apparently, this contract is for the new flagship store that the company plans to open in Riyadh. On successful implementation, this could be the largest store of Huawei outside China.</p>
<p>Back in June 2020, the company opened its world&#8217;s largest Huawei flagship store in Shanghai, China. This store is located in Nanjing Building with a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/06/24/huawei-flagship-store-china/">business area of nearly 5000 square meters</a>. Prior to that, the company also opened its &#8220;first Global flagship store&#8221; in Shenzhen, China in 2019.</p>
<p>Anyway, the latest report doesn&#8217;t specify any data on how large the store is going to be or its launch date. Either way, this development comes at a time when there is a grave demand for digital products and services in the Arabian Kingdom. Saudi&#8217;s internet usage will reportedly be accessible to 82.6% of the population by 2022 which is a 9.4% up from 2017.</p>
<h6 class="related" style="text-align: center"><strong><span style="color: #ff0000">EDITOR&#8217;S PICK</span>: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/20/huaweis-new-service-center-has-automated-robots-face-face-engineer-interaction-more/">Huawei&#8217;s new Service Center has Automated Robots, Face-Face Engineer Interaction, &amp; more</a></strong></h6>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Hence, Huawei&#8217;s store could serve as a bridge for selling products directly to customers. This is not the first time Saudi is welcoming Huawei&#8217;s investments in the region. After saying that it&#8217;s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/06/12/saudi-arabia-open-using-huawei-technology/">open to use Huawei&#8217;s technology</a>, Saudi Arabia signed an MOU with Huawei in October 2020. This was a joint effort to recognize Arabic language and characters using AI technology.</p>
<p>Huawei is facing a lot of challenges in retaining the sales figures outside of China thanks to the US&#8217; pressure. The company has already <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/10/30/samsung-reclaims-global-smartphone-market-throne-outperforms-expectations-in-q3-2020/">lost its position</a> as the world&#8217;s largest smartphone brand to Samsung after briefly capturing it in Q2. It is also facing a lot of stress in <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/01/15/huaweis-fight-against-5g-ban-in-sweden-fails-as-court-dismisses-appeal/">providing its 5G technology</a> to other countries as the US is pressuring them not to encourage Huawei.</p>
<p>That said, it is really appreciative of the Saudi Arabian government to act against the will and strengthen ties with the Chinese giant. To ascertain this, the Gulf countries, including Zain’s Saudi unit Zain KSA, have reportedly signed deals to use Huawei&#8217;s 5G tech.</p>

<p>The new store from the Chinese tech giant will sell a wide variety of products ranging from its flagship smartphones to its &#8220;extensive range&#8221; of wearable, hearables, tablets and PC products, as per a <a href="https://www.chargedretail.co.uk/2020/12/14/huawei-opens-doors-to-first-ever-uk-store-as-it-remains-committed-as-ever/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>Charged</em> </a>report. As per the company&#8217;s official notes, Huawei has been trading in the UK for over two decades now, with the new store being just one of the three stores that it plans on opening in the arriving months. <p>A report from <a href="https://sputniknews.com/business/202009211080524157-huawei-to-expand-russia-operation-with-50-new-stores-in-2021/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>SputnikNews</em></a> stated that the company made the announcement earlier this week. Huawei said that &#8220;In 2021, Huawei will continue to develop its retail network and will additionally open 50 branded stores in major Russian cities: St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar, Krasnoyarsk, Vladivostok and others.&#8221; Furthermore, the smartphone maker will also be growing its customer service capabilities in the region.</p>

<p>These new stores will showcase and sell all the latest products launched by the company, which includes smartphones, laptops, wearables, and other IoT (Internet of Things) products as well. At the moment, there are currently only 18 physical Huawei stores present in the country. So, this move will greatly increase the scale of its operating by a notable degree.</p>

However, one of its most noteworthy aspects is that its interior aesthetics are remarkably similar to Apple stores.</p>
<p><figure id="attachment_307342" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-307342" style="width: 855px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-307342 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/tienda-huawei-barcelona-1874795.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei" width="855" height="481" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/tienda-huawei-barcelona-1874795.jpg 855w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/tienda-huawei-barcelona-1874795-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/tienda-huawei-barcelona-1874795-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/tienda-huawei-barcelona-1874795-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/tienda-huawei-barcelona-1874795-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 855px) 100vw, 855px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-307342" class="wp-caption-text">Huawei recently opened a retail store in Barcelona, Spain, which resembles the design and aesthetics of an Apple store (Images via Computer Hoy)</figcaption></figure></p>
<p>The new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/huawei-store/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Huawei store</a> officially opened earlier this week, on 22nd February 2020, since it was supposed to launch with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/mwc-2020/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">MWC 2020</a> event in the same region. Although <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/02/12/mwc-2020-cancelled-due-to-the-ongoing-coronavirus-epidemic/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">the major event was canceled</a>, the Chinese tech giant has proceeded to inaugurate the store regardless. The area of the new store is a sizeable 750 square meter space of retail store which is spread over two floors.</p>
<p><figure id="attachment_307344" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-307344" style="width: 855px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-307344 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/tienda-huawei-barcelona-1874793.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei" width="855" height="481" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/tienda-huawei-barcelona-1874793.jpg 855w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/tienda-huawei-barcelona-1874793-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/tienda-huawei-barcelona-1874793-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/tienda-huawei-barcelona-1874793-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/tienda-huawei-barcelona-1874793-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 855px) 100vw, 855px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-307344" class="wp-caption-text">Many drew out the similarities in design and and product placement</figcaption></figure></p>
<p>Furthermore, the Huawei store offers many different and unique equipment that allows users to experience the company&#8217;s technology. It arrives with artificial intelligence, multimedia tools, workshops, exhibitions, and even thematic experiences. All of this is to attract more people into the Huawei electronic ecosystem. The store also has various experts and employees that specialize in the area one is present in and the gadgets around them, with a total team of about 20.</p>

<p>Notably, this makes the store the second Huawei outlet in the region and marks the company&#8217;s strategy of further expanding in the European regions. However, since its official launch, many customers and others have noted its peculiar similarity to Apple&#8217;s aesthetics and interior design. According to certain netizens, there is a blatant &#8220;theft&#8221; in identity which is clear as day.</p>
<p><figure id="attachment_307343" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-307343" style="width: 855px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-307343 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/tienda-huawei-barcelona-1874773.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei" width="855" height="481" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/tienda-huawei-barcelona-1874773.jpg 855w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/tienda-huawei-barcelona-1874773-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/tienda-huawei-barcelona-1874773-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/tienda-huawei-barcelona-1874773-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/02/tienda-huawei-barcelona-1874773-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 855px) 100vw, 855px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-307343" class="wp-caption-text">The brand new Huawei store has been inaugurated directly opposite to an Apple store</figcaption></figure></p>
<p>Another interesting point is that Huawei has opened the store directly opposite to an Apple store. This also signifies a rivalry of sorts, since historically, Huawei has been known to be &#8220;inspired&#8221; by the Cupertino based giant&#8217;s products and interior designs as well. Another good example of this is the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/09/28/huaweis-global-flagship-store-opens-in-shenzhen-long-queues-spotted-for-mate-30-series/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Huawei Global flagship store in Shenzhen, China</a>, that looks a lot like an Apple store from the inside. Lastly, the store isn&#8217;t the only one that has bee inaugurated in the country as Huawei already has plans to open a third store later on during the first half od this year in the La Gavia shopping center in Madrid.</p>

Samsung, Apple, Microsoft are some giants who have their offline stores to push sales and branding at ground level. Now, the Chinese smartphone maker is coming with an offline store in Vienna, Austria. It seems a strategic move for Huawei in enduring the Europeans from any pressure from the US lawmakers. It will be the first Huawei Store outside of China.</p>

<p>Despite being the second largest smartphone maker in Austria, Huawei didn&#8217;t open a single store in the Country. Overall, it&#8217;s a good move and will help the company to maintain a positive environment. Alongside, its 5G networking equipments are ready to float with three major carriers in the country. Namingly, operators like A1 Telekom Austria, Deutsche Telekom&#8217;s T-Mobile Austria, and Hutchison Whampoa&#8217;s Drei Austria are in talks to test 5G networks.</p>
<p>Moreover, Joe Kelly, Huawei&#8217;s vice president of corporate communication, denied any allegations from the US government at a press conference held in Vienna. The company directly denied any involvement in spying by any government. At the press conference, Joe added that it would even refuse if the Chinese government asked to spy.</p>
<p>It is a measured step from Huawei which will help the company to get stabilized in Europe. Even, the customers and politicians won&#8217;t succumb to the pressure from the US. Since the past few months, Huawei has been struggling due to allegations from the US concerning national security. As per the US, Huawei could spy on consumers and corporation through its networking gear. Even though, the US has warned its allies from using the Huawei networking equipment in testing 5G networks.</p>

<p>The new flagship store will debut in the capital city of Vienna by summers this year.</p>
