Huawei officially launches TalkBand B6, a fitness tracker cum Bluetooth headset in China. It comes in three variants namely Sports, Fashion, and Exclusive. They are priced at 999 yuan ($142), 1,199 yuan ($171), and 1,499 yuan ($214) respectively.

The Huawei TalkBand B6 sports a 1.53-inch flexible curved AMOLED display with a resolution of 460 x 188 pixels and 326 PPI. It comes powered by the company’s in-house  HiSilicon Kirin A1 chipset.

As a fitness tracker, it packs all the necessary sensors such as accelerometer, gyroscope, heart rate sensor, SpO2 sensor, ambient light sensor, and hall effect sensor (compass). It connects to smartphones via Bluetooth 5.2 and the company claims it to offer a maximum connection distance of 150m.

The wearable can be paired with both Android 4.4+ and iOS 9.0+ devices. The casing of the tracker is made of stainless steel, however, buyers can choose from these three types of straps – Silicon, Leather, and Metal. 

As for colors, the Silicon strap comes in Obsidian Black and Coral Red version, whereas the Leather strap comes in Camellia Brown and Mocha Brown variants. Lastly, the metal strap comes only in Titanium Silver Gray color.

Talking about features, the Huawei TalkBand B6 supports fitness tracking, app alerts, weather, music controls, Xiaoyi AI voice assistant, sleep tracking, menstrual cycle tracking, and more. Also, it is IP57-certified for dust and water resistance but it does not apply for the leather strap.

Last but not least, the wearable is backed by a 120mAh battery, which charges via USB Type-C.

Huawei just unveiled Maimang 9, a mid-range 5G smartphone in China yesterday. But the company is already teasing a new product launch for July 30. Although the teaser doesn’t say much, we think it to be Huawei TalkBand B6, the successor to TalkBand B5 from 2018.

This is not the first time we are hearing about Huawei TalkBand B6, a fitness band cum Bluetooth headset. The wearable is in the news since last week due to a couple of leaks, which shed some details about this upcoming product.

The major difference between the new TalkBand and its predecessors will be its display. Even the teaser image kind of confirms the same. Unlike previous iterations of the wearable with flat-screen, the forthcoming TalkBand B6 is said to sport a 1.53-inch flexible AMOLED display.

Another big change will be the presence of the company’s in-house HiSilcon Kirin A1 chip. The same chipset powers the brand’s TWS and smartwatches such as Huawei Watch GT 2 and Huawei Watch GT 2e.

Further, it is expected to feature Bluetooth 5.2 for connectivity with a maximum range of 150 metres. Also, the leaks confirm USB Type-C port with support for fast charging.

According to leaks. the Huawei TalkBand B6 like the company’s fitness bands and smartwatches will have features like heart rate sensor, SpO2 sensor, fitness tracking, sleep tracking, app notifications, weather, Xiaoyi AI voice assistant, and more.

Last but not least, it is tipped to come in a total of three variants and four color options. They are stainless steel, beige leather, and silicon version in Black and Red color paint job.

A few days ago, Huawei’s TalkBand B6 leaked. The source provided images as well as a hands-on video of the fitness tracker that doubles as a Bluetooth headset, now more images have surfaced.

The new photos, posted by the same leaker, show the four colors the TalkBand 6 will come in. There is a steel version, a beige leather version, and two silicone strap versions that come in red and black. Save for the steel strap version, the other three already appeared in the first leak.

The Huawei TalkBand B6 has a 1.53-inch curved AMOLED display. It has a built-in voice assistant and FIRSTBEAT professional sports coach. There is also 24-hour heart rate measurement, SP02 measurement, sleep tracking, app notifications, and more.

The TalkBand B6 also features the same Kirin A1 chip that Huawei has been shipping with its TWS earbuds and smartwatches for better Bluetooth connection and better power management.

It has also been reported that the headset has Bluetooth 5.2 which has a range of 150 meters. There is fast charging (via USB-C) too, such that users will be able to talk for up to 4 hours after a few minutes of charging.

Huawei’s TalkBand series are quite unusual devices. They are a line of Bluetooth headsets that can also be worn on the wrist as a fitness tracker. Or you can say they are fitness trackers that double as Bluetooth headsets. Either of the two explanations suffice. A new model called the TalkBand B6 has leaked on Weibo and it packs really interesting upgrades.

Photos of the retail box and that of the TalkBand B6 itself and a short hands-on video were posted on Weibo yesterday by a user that goes by @看山的叔叔, providing a first look at the latest model of the series.

The TalkBand B6 is shown as having a larger AMOLED display than its predecessor, the TalkBand B5. The screen displays quite a lot of info such as the time and date, calories burnt, heart rate, weather, steps taken, distance walked/ran, and battery level. There are also multiple watch faces as seen in the video below.

In one of the images of the retail box, the device is shown sporting a red silicone strap while in the other image it has a black silicone strap. The live photo shows the band with a leather strap. We are pretty sure there will be different designs and materials to choose from for the strap of the TalkBand B6 including metal. While some of these straps may be made by Huawei, a large percentage will be made by third-party manufacturers.

The source says the TalkBand B6 has a Kirin A1 chip inside it. This is the same chip inside the Huawei FreeBuds 3. The chip brings advanced Bluetooth (Bluetooth 5.2), powerful audio, an independent power management unit, and an ultra-low-power application processor.

Other specifications mentioned include a 1.53-inch flexible display with anti-glare glass on top, a Hall sensor, a metal frame, voice assistant, remote camera feature, real-time motion data detection, and FIRSTBEAT professional sports guidance.

There is no info regarding the release date of the TalkBand B6 but it should launch first in China before a global release. The new model is coming more than two years after the launch of the TalkBand B5.
