The program comes with support for playing video in multiple formats, along with playback speed control, slow motion, floating window, and more. It is also offering the cloud-cloud synergy of Huawei Cloud + Huawei Terminal Cloud for users around the world, adds a report coming from HuaweiUpdate.

Earlier this month, Zhang Pingan, Senior Vice President at Huawei, CEO of Huawei Cloud, and President of Consumer Cloud Services stated that the new Video app has more than 50,000 hours of Chinese film and television content. He added that more than 10 million Chinese short videos have reached 230 million users worldwide through its devices.

Recently, the multi-media platform Huawei Video and lifestyle TV channel Clubbing TV have entered into video distribution partnerships across more than 60 countries in Europe, Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Africa, and Latin America.

As a part of the strategic partnership, Huawei Video users will get access to Clubbing TV’s linear feed and video portfolio. In addition to the linear feed of Clubbing TV, the long-format video assets of the channel will be rolling out across all Huawei Video platforms in the Premium VoD (Video on Demand) section.

This collaboration between the two companies aims to bring international and local video content to European regions like France.

The Chinese tech giant has made this move as it seeks to expand its influence in the European nations. For those unaware, Dailymotion is a popular video sharing platform, which is similar to YouTube. Through the new partnership, Huawei Video will now have integrated video players from Dailymotion, within its application. This move has been made to improve Huawei’s existing application ecosystem.

After being banned from using Google services, Huawei had to develop its own alternatives for its vanilla Android smartphones. In this ecosystem, various popular applications like YouTube, WhatsApp, and more are missing. Thus, a partnership with the French firm will also have its reliance on US based firms reduced even further. Notably, the Chinese company had also recently built its first European manufacturing plant in France. So, it seems that Huawei plans on moving forward in the region regardless of the sanctions and pressures from the US Government.
