The exciting Huawei Watch D has been the subject of some speculations and leaks, mainly fueled by its innovative blood pressure monitoring capability. There are indeed only a few devices that offer blood pressure monitoring, and the Huawei Watch D is in this class. The device is expected to be officially unveiled on December 23 during Huawei’s flagship launch conference. A video has now surfaced that showcases all the key features relating to its blood pressure measurement capabilities.

The hands-on video leak reveals the unboxing of the Huawei Watch D from its retail box and the unpacking reveals a sturdy black strap for the Watch D. The video also shows the rectangular display and large bezels on the corner of the Huawei flagship smartwatch. The inner display of the watch is bigger than its predecessors, thus providing a more enhanced experience using the smartwatch.

A demonstration of the blood pressure monitoring feature was also shown in the video. The user kept the smartwatch on his wrist in a straight position. The sturdy strap ensures a firm grip on the wrists to guarantee better blood pressure measurements.

There are several sensors on the back of the Huawei Watch D and two buttons on the right side. The user interface of the Watch D shows that the device features blood pressure levels consisting of high and low pressure, as well as pulse. The watch also features an electrocardiogram (EEG) in addition to several other important health monitoring sensors.

The Huawei Watch D, set to be launched on December 23, has now nearly been completely exposed, firstly with images of its box and now images of it in action in real life. These images are in line with previous renders and showcase a few highlight features including blood pressure monitoring.

The images show Huawei Watch D with a squarish dial and a large screen that’s slightly curved on the edges. There are a couple of buttons on the right side of the smartwatch’s body for “Health” and “Home” functions.

The watch supports a number of new and highly advanced tracking features like blood pressure monitoring and ECG (electrocardiogram) measurement. A blogger recently revealed that the watch allegedly comes with a pressurized bag inside to simulate the actual blood pressure measurement process and provide extremely accurate data. The feature has already obtained a Class II medical device registration certificate from the National Medical Products Administration of China.

Other than this, the Huawei Watch D will run the company’s self-developed HarmonyOS system. It will also likely support the Huawei Health app, which would provide users with various fitness features like step tracking, calorie measurement, sleep cycle tracking, weight tracking, and much more.

He Gang, president of Huawei’s mobile business, earlier this year announced that Huawei had made a breakthrough in the research of wearable blood pressure measurement technology on the wrist. The Huawei Watch D seems to be a product of that.
