Huawei has officially launched the Watch Fit 3 in India, the much-anticipated successor to the Watch Fit 2. After weeks of teasers, the company has unveiled a smartwatch that blends fitness-centric features with a sleek, fashion-forward design, clearly aimed at users who want both performance and style on their wrist.

Huawei Watch Fit 3 Specifications

The Watch Fit 3 features a 1.82-inch AMOLED display with 1500 nits peak brightness, 480 × 408 resolution, and 347 PPI, offering a bright and sharp viewing experience. Its ultra-thin bezels and 77.4% screen-to-body ratio enhance immersion, while the aluminium alloy body keeps it lightweight at 26g and just 9.9mm thick.

Fitness and health tracking are comprehensive. The watch features built-in GPS, Track Run mode, and supports 100+ workout modes, including automatic detection for six types of exercises. It also comes with Huawei’s new Smart Suggestions tool that learns your workout habits and suggests activities based on your patterns, calories burned, and even local weather.

For health tracking, the Watch Fit 3 includes SpO2 monitoring, sleep tracking with TruSleep 4.0, heart rate tracking, atrial fibrillation alerts, and women’s health management. There’s even a full-fledged calorie-tracking system that syncs with the Huawei Health app to help you log meals and monitor nutritional intake.

The smartwatch runs on both Android (8.0+) and iOS (13.0+) and supports Bluetooth 5.2 for faster and more stable connections. Only the White Leather and Grey Nylon strap variants include NFC support.

In terms of battery life, Huawei promises up to 10 days of runtime on typical use, 7 days with heavier usage, and even 4 days with always-on display enabled — backed by fast charging that delivers a day’s power in just 10 minutes.

In terms of pricing, the Watch Fit 3 starts at Rs. 14,999 ($180) for most color options, while the Space Grey model with a Nylon Strap comes in at Rs. 15,999 ($192). Huawei is apparently planning on launching a brand new smartwatch in the Indian market soon. The company first unveiled the Huawei Watch Fit 3 last year, with its Indian release reportedly being right around the corner. So here’s everything we know so far.

Huawei Watch Fit 3 India Launch

The Chinese tech giant is apparently planning on launching the Huawei Watch Fit 3 in India, as per sources close to the matter who shared the details with 91Mobiles. This is the direct successor to the Huawei Watch Fit 2, which debuted in India back in August 2024. Now, its successor is expected to launch in India soon with various improvements and a higher price tag. The report claims that the Watch Fit 3 could be priced at around 20,000 INR, which is double the price of the Watch Fit 2 (9998 INR on launch).

To recall, the Huawei Watch Fit 3 arrives in six color options, namely White, Gray, Black, Green, Pink, and a white leather strap variant. It sports a tall 1.82-inch AMOLED display with a 480 x 480 resolution and 1500 nits of peak brightness. The smartwatch has an aluminum alloy body along with a rotating crown along and a dedicated function button. A 400mAh battery pack powers this device, which promises to offer up to 10 days of battery life.

It also features various health related trackers for heart rate monitoring, SpO2 blood oxygen mapping, menstrual cycle tracking, atrial fibrillation alerts, sleep monitoring, and more. Here we have the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 3 for a review, this one is pretty interesting, because again it tried to redefine the boundary between smartwatch and smart band, and this time I would say it’s much like a proper lite smartwatch, more than an enlarged smart band. In this review, you will know the reasons.

Design & Build

Right out of the box, you will notice that it is a thin, squared-off smartwatch. If you have followed up on the last generation, HUAWEI FIT 2, you will know that they are a lot different from each other. The FIT 2 seemed to more target female users with a fine-designed smaller display, while the FIT 3 is more like a sport essential for everyone outside of those smartband products. Combined with a stretchy Nylon strap, the FIT 3 is amazingly lightweight and breathable for sportswear. If you remove the strap, the watch body weighs just 26g. What’s really promising is that even though it’s as light as a smartband, it’s still versatile as a smartwatch.

So this smartwatch has a 1.82″ AMOLED screen on top, covered by a panel that does not have perfect bezels – the top and bottom are slightly wider than the other two sides. The flip side of the watch is a complete plate with no cutout around the sensor area, although the magnetic charging pins have taken a little place on one side. I like this build more than others, because the dirt can be wiped out easily and will not leave anything on it.

The maximum brightness is impressive, especially when having workouts outdoors in the daytime, which is still visible in the sun’s glare.

In between the top and bottom panels, is the aluminum alloy body sandwiched in between to house all the buttons and watch band. On the right, there is a crown that can rotate up and down, and another button to toggle through many functions. The crown is in a typical HUAWEI red hue, it looks and feels really good, and the dampening is very well-calibrated. On the left side, there is the speaker cutout, the sound it produces is very big, loud enough to hear all the instructions and broadcast clearly. The band that comes with the watch is also top quality, the lock mechanism is like the Apple Watch, once the band is bonded with the watch, it is very secure, not wobbling at all. The buttons on the flip side will let the hooks go. One thing to note is that the lock is simpler, so I think there wouldn’t be a common problem that third-party band manufacturers have, which is the compatibility issue.

This time, there are six bands/straps to choose from HUAWEI, four Fluoroelastomer Strap, one White Leather Strap, and one Grey Nylon Strap. It’s clear that this smartwatch is meant more for sports, but once paired with other straps, it can also be a fashionable item. Overall, the watch has a nice design, the square design makes a really good-looking watch, and it is very lightweight.

Function & Features

As a smartwatch, it has a whole package of smart features. But as a new model, it must have some unique ones to make you pay for it, so let’s focus on those you would be more interested in. Basically they are 100+ Workout Modes, Stay Fit, and Sleep apnoea.

During the time of wearing the watch, the watch can detect the workout mode pretty quickly. Take badminton for example, once the workout starts, the watch will start recording every move, and show the essential data on the main screen. And a single swipe up and down, left and right will take me to some other info, it is very convenient. Once the workout has been going for 10 minutes, 20 minutes or so, the speaker will read the data out loud, to make sure you don’t lose focus on those things, and the volume is surprisingly big, quite a useful feature I haven’t experienced on other watches. After the workout, you can have a very clear idea about the calories, heart rate and time, etc. So overall, this watch has the complete package of all the sports tracking.

In addition, the built-in GPS is a great bonus for such a lightweight sports watch. Positioning accuracy is also amazingly reliable on the FIT 3, not at all inferior to other high-end sports watches. You can wear it to independently have the distance calibration and movement tracking.

When you want to keep fit, one essential thing is to keep track of your diet. There is a feature to help you track everything you eat, and the approximate calories you intake from that dish. This feature works really well, because wherever you are from, you can find the local dishes you eat. For example, I can find some egg dishes in the search bar, and some really local way of making the dishes will come out. The only thing you need to do is to figure out how much you eat in that dish, which is a habit you need to develop, but if it is about losing weight, this is a must. To help you form a habit of doing so, the watch will notify you at a certain time of the day, to remind you to do that.

Lastly, the Sleep apnoea detection. Me personally I snore a bit, and I am always worried about having sleep apnoea, because it not only affects your sleep quality, and your facial appearance, but also it affects your partner. So for years, I have been trying to find the solution to that, fortunately, there is one more step forward for me here. So basically, it will detect such activity during sleep. I am lucky enough not to have experienced that until now, but if you are slightly overweight, or getting older, there is a higher chance you would have encountered that, so keeping an eye on that will be very important.

For some other features, like the Activity Records, and 10 Days of battery life, these are all as good as its officially advertised. Following the guides and tutorials in the HUAWEI Health app, it’s becoming a great lifestyle companion as I was able to make full use of those features.

Verdict

So after a week of use, this watch has helped me a lot. The first thing that stands out is the awesome battery use, even with all the health monitoring features up and running, it still lasted more than a week. The three features mentioned in this review really helped with my day-to-day use a lot, a very good experience. So if you are in the market for a slim and light, good-looking, and full-featured smartwatch, this one is perfect for you. Now the FIT 3 is available in various regions. Early Unboxings Reveal Missing Fan-Favorite Feature

The smartwatch is scheduled to launch in China on May 15th. However, just days before its official China release, the Huawei Watch Fit 3 has hit a snag with fitness tracker enthusiasts. According to Weibo tipster “Uncle who looks at the mountain”, stores unpacking the smartwatch revealed it doesn’t come with the highly anticipated WeChat smartwatch app pre-installed.

This news comes as a blow, considering the dedicated WeChat smartwatch app launched in July 2022. Developed by the WeChat team itself, it boasted features specifically designed for smartwatch users, including voice-to-text messaging, viewing images, voice replies, and even animated emoticon support.

Netizens, eager to ditch their phones for on-wrist communication, expressed disappointment on forums like Pollen Club, with some commenting “there is still no WeChat.” This frustration likely stems from the Watch Fit 2‘s experience. Internal testing reportedly included the WeChat app, but optimization issues ultimately led to its cancellation.

Despite the setback, there’s a glimmer of hope. The leaked information only suggests the app isn’t pre-installed. Here are two possibilities: Huawei might deliver the WeChat app through an over-the-air (OTA) update after launch. This approach would allow for further optimization and bug fixes before deployment. Alternatively, the retail version hitting shelves on May 15th in China could come pre-loaded with the app.

However, the lack of confirmed WeChat support casts a shadow over the launch. With WeChat being a dominant communication platform in China, its absence on a smartwatch can be a significant drawback for many users.

A new leak surrounding the upcoming Huawei Watch Fit 3 suggests a significant overhaul for the wearable, both in terms of aesthetics and software. 

According to tipster Fixed Focus Digital on Weibo, the Watch Fit 3 is expected to launch sometime after the Spring Festival in 2024. It will feature a 2.5D rectangular screen and allegedly a “flagship-level crown” on the left side of the watch. 

Renders of the smartwatch surfaced earlier this week and the design is a complete departure from its predecessor. It looks strikingly similar to the Apple Watch instead. 

Aside from the outer design refresh, the smartwatch is also tipped to undergo a substantial change in the user interface (UI) aspect. 

The tipster suggest the watch will have major UI modifications based on the latest version of HarmonyOS for wearables. Although not specified, we’re guessing that the Watch Fit 3 might come pre-installed with HarmonyOS 4.2 or even the upcoming HarmonyOS NEXT.

The revamped UI could include smoother animations, increased space for app icons, larger fonts, and a wider selection of watch faces. However, official confirmation regarding these changes remains pending.

There’s also a good chance the Watch Fit 3 might launch in both domestic China and international markets. Nevertheless, details regarding key specifications, pricing, and internal features are yet to surface.

Huawei Watch Fit 3 renders reveal an Apple Watch clone

Apple is the market leader in the smartwatch segment. The Cupertino-based tech giant’s smartwatches have consistently maintained the same design for years. While OEMs try to distinguish their products from competitors, Huawei is taking a different approach by taking inspiration from Apple for the upcoming Watch Fit 3. 

As per the leaked images shared by Roland Quandt, the Huawei Watch Fit 3 looks same to same as the Apple Watch. It has a square dial with rounded corners. The rotating digital crown at the top right side and another physical button below mimic the Apple Watch’s design. Additionally, the device features a band without any traditional lugs. All those design characteristics make the Huawei Watch Fit 3 look like any Apple smartwatch. It would be very hard for other people to tell if it’s an Apple Watch or its clone. 

The only way to distinguish the Huawei Watch Fit 3 from the Apple Watch is that the former has slightly thicker screen bezels and a different metal frame. However, this is only possible upon closer inspection. 

We can expect the Huawei Watch Fit 3 to launch in the coming weeks.

Huawei Watch Fit 3 Certified in Malaysia

The Chinese tech giant’s new Watch Fit 3 was spotted on multiple certification databases. This includes Indonesia’s SDPPI and even China’s CQC platforms. Now, the Huawei Watch Fit 3 has been spotted on SIRIM in Malaysia. The upcoming smartwatch was spotted with the SLO-B19 model number in the previous listings, which has been confirmed with the latest SIRIM certification.

Although, the Watch Fit 3 was seen with two model numbers, namely SLO-B19 and SLO-B09. Based on what we know so far, the new smartwatch will support Bluetooth connectivity, display notifications, track your physical activities, and offer storage for audio files as well as playback functionality. Unfortunately, this is all the information we have at the moment and finer details like specs, features, pricing, and design are still unclear.

Previously, the Huawei Watch Fit 2 was unveiled back in 2022 with a rectangular 1.74-inch AMOLED display that offers a 336 PPI pixel density and 336 x 480 pixel resolution. It offers Always on Display and with a water resistant body. It supports Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and is powered by a 292mAh battery pack. In other words, we can expect a similar design with its successor, but with improved specifications. This is all the information we have right now, so stick around for more updates.

Huawei is set to update its smartwatch range with the introduction of the Huawei Watch Fit 3, following the success of the Huawei Watch Fit 2 in 2022. The new device was spotted on the CQC certification earlier this month. Now, it has picked up Indonesia’s SDPPI certification as well.

The certification confirms that the Huawei smartwatch bearing the model number SLO0B19 is called the Watch Fit 3. Unfortunately, no specification details regarding the Watch Fit 3 have been revealed yet, but with this certification, we expect the launch will happen soon, which means that we can expect the teasers to soon start rolling in. In the meantime, we can take a look at its predecessor, the Watch Fit 2, to get an idea of what the upcoming model could offer.

The Huawei Watch Fit 2 featured a 1.74-inch AMOLED screen, support for 97 workout modes, health tracking including heart rate and blood oxygen monitoring, and up to 10 days of battery life. It also provided connectivity options like WiFi and Bluetooth v5.2, and it was designed with a user-friendly strap-switching mechanism and 5ATM water resistance.

Huawei teased the Watch Fit 3 quite a while ago on July 17 last year noting “revealing soon“. Now a smartwatch model noted as SLO-B19 has recently passed CQC product certification, which is expected to be the Huawei Watch Fit 3. Certification information reveals that this watch will have audio storage and playback functions. Additionally, Huawei followed the trend of not including a charger for this upcoming watch. It has been reported that Huawei could launch the Watch Fit 3 at the Huawei P 70 series launch event.

What to expect?

Not much is known about the upcoming watch at this point. The company launched the Huawei Fit 2 with a rectangular 1.74-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 336×480 and a pixel density of 336PPI. It offers an always-on display and a water resistance of up to 50 meters. Its health tracking features include a heart rate sensor, blood oxygen monitoring, sleep tracking, etc. For connectivity, the device is equipped with Bluetooth 5.2 and NFC. For power, Watch Fit 2 comes with a 292mAh battery that is rated to last 10 days in typical usage. This device was priced at 799 Yuan, which is currently relative to 110 USD.

Notably, the Huawei Watch Fit 3 is expected to equip a heart rate monitor and a SpO2 sensor. The Watch Fit 3 will also reportedly get 97 different workout modes alongside offering the traditional sleep pattern and stress level tracking features.

However, the P70 series’ launch event, where we are expecting the revelation of the Watch Fit 3, has reportedly been delayed. A reliable tipster Digital Chat Station reported that the launch event, which was initially expected to be held this month, has been postponed.
