At the end of October, a new wearable from Huawei dubbed as HUAWEI WATCH FIT mini went official in Europe. As the name suggests, this product is a smaller version of the existing model. Over one and a half months after its debut, the smartwatch is now being tipped to make its entry in the company’s home country.

According to 菊厂影业Fans, the HUAWEI WATCH FIT mini will launch in China later this month. Unfortunately, the source does not reveal the price but does hint that it will be affordable than the vanilla model. In Europe, it retails at around €99.

Talking about features, the fitness tracker disguised as a smartwatch sports a 1.47-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 368 x 194 pixels and 282 PPI. The panel supports touch input and uses gesture control.

The casing is made of aluminum, while the bottom part features a plastic build. It is water-resistant up to 5 ATM. Customers can pick it up in either of these three strap color options – Frosty White, Mocha Brown, and Taro Purp.

The wearable pairs with smartphones running Android 6.0+ or iOS 9.0+ via Bluetooth 5.0. It has all the essential sensors like a 6-axis IMU sensor (accelerometer, gyroscope), optical heart rate sensor, and SpO2 sensor for 96 workout modes, heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen level monitoring, sleep tracking, stress monitoring, and more.

Last but not least, the HUAWEI WATCH FIT mini is rated to last for up to 14 days on a full charge and it recharges using a magnetic charger.

Huawei‘s smartphone business may be in the lurch at the moment but the company has been pushing its ecosystem products in several markets. There were reports of the company planning to launch the Watch FIT New in India in the coming days. Before that will happen, the company has made a surprise unveiling of the Watch FIT Mini. The smartwatch is listed on Amazon Germany.

Both the new Watch FIT Mini and the unannounced Watch Fit New are offshoots of the Huawei Watch Fit that made its debut last year. The Watch Fit came with an elongated square-shaped design and was well-received both in China and overseas. The new iteration retains the same design as its predecessor but is a bit smaller.

In terms of specification, the Watch FIT Mini features a 1.47-inch display with a resolution of 194 x 368 pixels. In comparison, the Watch FIT packs a 1.64-inch screen which is 0.17-inches bigger and has a better resolution. But the display type is still an AMOLED panel.

The watch retains the sports and health-tracking features smartwatches are known for. Some of the health/fitness features include a SpO2 sensor, stress monitoring, and sleep tracking.

Furthermore, the watch features up to 96 sports modes, supporting activities such as swimming, cycling, walking, running, and many others. You won’t have to worry about taking it out jogging or while in the shower as it comes with 5 ATM water resistance.

The Huawei Watch Fit Mini carries a price tag of €99 in the EU. The watch crams a 180mAh battery under the hood which Huawei claims can last up to 14 days. We can’t say when the company will launch the watch in other markets soon.
