IMINT, a Sweden-based company is known for offering video enhancement solutions for smartphone cameras. The company’s flagship product “Vidhance” is used by a plethora of OEMs like HUAWEI, OPPO, vivo, Xiaomi, Motorola, and Infinix. Now, this company is partnering with Taiwanese chipmaker MediaTek to deeply integrate both their products.

Up until now, IMINT’s Vidhance is only integrated at the software level in smartphones powered by MediaTek chipsets. But with the new partnership, it can be integrated at a deeper (hardware) level to improve the overall performance of video stabilization by consuming less energy.

The following IMINT products will be integrated at a deeper level in MediaTek chips.

• Vidhance Dynamic Motion Blur Reduction
• Vidhance Super Stabilization
• Vidhance Field of View Correction
• Vidhance Horizon Correction

The Swedish company says that its technologies are deployed in over 250 million smartphones. Apart from handsets, the firm’s products can be also found in bodycams, modular cameras, and drones.

As GSMArena points out, OEMs are lately turning towards MediaTek for cheaper alternatives to costlier 5G-equipped Qualcomm chipsets. If this trend continues, budget smartphone users will have access to the products offered by IMINT, which will help in providing better video recording performance.
