Infinix announced the Note 40 series on March 18 on the global market. The lineup consists of the Note 40 4G, Note 40 Pro 4G, Note 40 Pro 5G, and finally the Note 40 Pro+ 5G. As scheduled, the latter two (5G models) launches in India today. So let’s take a look at what special phones have to offer.

Infinix Note 40 Pro | Note 40 Pro+ specifications

The series equips a segment-first 6.78″ 55-degree curved AMOLED display. The smooth 120Hz display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass and also reaches up to 1300 nits. For the back, there are three different color options – Obsidian Black, Titan Gold, and Vintage Green. Inside the screen you’ll be treated with XOS 14 based on Android 14, which the company is ‘criminally smooth’ and has no ads.

It is built around the 6nm Mediatek Dimensity 7020 chipset, that also powers the recently launched Moto G Power 5G (2024). The processor is backed by 8 GB (Note 40 Pro) or 12GB memory (Note 40 Pro+) and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage. The phone adopts VC cooling tech that reduces the temperature by up to 7° C.

Battery and charging

While the Note 40 Pro+ equips a 4600mAh battery and supports 100W charging, the Note 40 Pro packs an even bigger 5000 mAh capacity with 45W charging. Both phones support 20W wireless charging, 5W and 10W reverse wireless and wired charging.

To charge reliably, Infinix has further improved its charging technology and is calling it “All-Round FastCharge 2.0”. As the name suggests the phone comes with a charging kit that includes a case for the phone that has magnets, a magnetically attachable wireless power bank, and more. The idea is to keep your phone and accessories powered throughout the day. The first day of sale offers Rs 4,999 worth of MagKit for free. To know more about the segment’s first wireless charging ecosystem of this phone, check out our detailed explainer.

Camera

Both the Note 40 Pro and Pro+ offer a 108MP OIS-assisted main camera that according to Infinix, can provide lossless zoom up to 3x. Although, there’s no information on how this particular mode performs in low light. Additionally, there are two more 2MP sensors for depth and macro and a 32MP one for selfie. There’s also an “Active Halo” light on the back located inside the camera assembly.

Both phones come with an IP53 water splash protection rating and offer an IR sensor to use the phone as a remote and a multifunctional NFC.

Pricing and availability

The Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G and the Note 40 Pro+ 5G are available on Flipkart for a price tag of Rs 27,999 and Rs 32,999 respectively. Although, the phones are now available for pre-orders for Rs 21,999 and Rs 24,999 for the phones.

The post Infinix Note 40 Pro | Pro+ 5G launches in India with wireless charging; pre-orders start today appeared first on Gizmochina.

Infinix Note 40 series was announced on March 18 for the global market. The lineup has four models, such as the Note 40 (4G), Note 40 Pro (4G), Note 40 Pro 5G, and Note 40 Pro+ 5G. We will soon be reviewing and sharing our thoughts on some of these devices.

The brand recently confirmed that it will unveil the Note 40 Pro 5G and Note 40 Pro+ 5G on April 12 in India. The All-Round FastCharge 2.0 charging technology, a successor to the All-Round FastCharge tech on the Note 30 series last year, is the USP of the Note 40 lineup. Hence, the company is advertising the Note 40 series with the #TakeCharge hashtag.

What does All-Round FastCharge 2.0 mean? To ensure, our phones do not run out of battery juice midway through the day, Infinix has introduced the All-Found FastCharge 2.0 technology on the Note 40 series. Apart from up to 100W wired charging, the Note 40 models support wireless charging, reverse wireless charging, magnetic wireless charging, bypass charging, and charging in extreme weather conditions. In addition, it also includes a new magnetic wireless charging power bank.

The Cheetah X1 chip, a self-developed chip, is available inside the Note 40 Pro+ 5G, apart from the Dimensity 7020 SoC. It is a power management chip to handle various charging features, such as wired charging, bypass charging, and reverse charging. In addition, it can monitor in real-time how much current is being delivered to the phone and ensure it does not overheat.

Wired Charging: Up to 100W charging

The Note 40 Pro+ 5G, which packs a 4,600mAh battery, is the only phone in the series to feature 100W charging. The Note 40 Pro 5G packs a 5,000mAh battery and supports 45W wired charging. On the other hand, the Note 40 Pro (4G) and Note 40 (4G) support 75W and 45W wired charging, respectively. Both 4G phones have a 5,000mAh battery.

The Note 40 series displays a unique pop-up window when connected to the in-box 100W charger. It shows three charging modes:

• Hyper: Fully charges the phone in around 35 minutes (in my experience).
• Low-temp: Around 6 to 10°C cooler than the Hyper Mode. The company claims that the charging temperature is maintained at 30°C in a 25°C stable environment.
• Smart: It offers the best of both Hyper and Low-temp modes. In my experience, it took around 50 minutes to achieve a full charge.

MagCharge Wireless Charging: MagCase, MagPad, MagPower

Magnetic wireless charging uses magnets to align and secure the charging pad to the device being charged. Due to the precise alignment that magnets facilitate, magnetic wireless charging offers a more stable connection, faster charging speeds, and improved efficiency compared to regular wireless charging, which solely relies on electromagnetic induction.

Magnetic wireless charging eliminates the need for precise positioning, as the magnets guide the device to snap onto the charging pad effortlessly. This feature addresses common issues with regular wireless charging methods, such as misalignment and positioning challenges.

All four models in the Note 40 series support 20W magnetic wireless charging. The series comes with the company’s MagKit, which includes the following items:

MagCase: A special case with a leathery finish that features a ring of magnets for snapping a magnetic wireless charging pad.

MagPad: A magnetic wireless charging pad that supports 5W / 7.5W / 10W / 15W charging speeds, with a maximum current input of 11V2A. It is compatible with EPP, PD, QC, and PE+ charging protocols.

MagPower: MagPower is a wireless power bank that employs magnetic charging technology. It weighs only 53 grams and packs a 3,020mAh battery. You can attach it to the back of the Note 40 series to wirelessly charge at 5W or 7W charging speeds. The image below shows that it features a power button and a battery level indicator.

When the MagPower is connected to a power source and at the same time snapped to the back of a phone, it can offer a maximum charging speed of 18W. The power bank supports charging inputs up to 9V/3A, as well as Qi and EPP charging protocols. According to Infinix, MagPower is the thinnest and lightest magnetic wireless charging power bank.

Reverse Charging

The Note 40 series supports wired and wireless reverse charging. With wired reverse charging, the charging speed is up to 10W, whereas it supports 5W reverse wireless charging.

Other Charging Features

• Bypass charging: During heavy usage like gaming or watching videos, the Note 40 series can use the bypass charging technology to directly provide current to the motherboard by bypassing the battery. This also helps in minimising heat buildup and protecting the battery’s life.
• Extreme weather charging: High-density batteries inside the Note 40 series can withstand extreme cold conditions, even charging the device at minus 20°C.
• Smart overnight charge: Note 40 Pro+ 5G utlizes AI to limit overnight charging to 80%, preventing overcharging until closer to the user’s morning wake-up time.
• Universal charge: The Note 40 series charger’s USB PD 3.0 compatibility allows it to power a variety of devices, including earbuds, laptops, and phones.
• Magic Ring: The notification area around the display punch-hole will show the battery percentage when the device is being charged.
• Active Halo Light: The Note 40 series has Active Halo RGB lighting on the back. It will pulse while the device is being charged and when it is fully charged.

There haven’t been any smartphone launches for the past several days. However, that won’t be the case in the next few days.

Three brands have scheduled events. But only one of these conferences will witness the announcement of a new product and it will be a foldable from Nubia.

On the other hand, Samsung and Infinix will bring their already official phones to India. These will be budget and mid-range models.

Let’s take a look at these handsets one by one.

Upcoming Smartphones Next Week

Samsung Galaxy M55 and Galaxy M15

Samsung has announced an event for April 8 (Monday) in India. The company will take wraps off the Galaxy M15 and the Galaxy M55, both of which went official in some markets a while back.

The Galaxy M15 comes with a 90Hz FHD+ dewdrop notched AMOLED display, a MediaTek Dimensity 6100 Plus chip, a 50MP rear camera, a 13MP selfie camera, a 6,000mAh battery, and 25W charging support.

Whereas the Galaxy M55 arrives with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC, a 6.7-inch FHD+ 120Hz centered punch-hole AMOLED display, a 50MP selfie camera, an OIS-assisted 50MP main camera, a 5,000mAh battery, and 45W charging support.

Both of them boot Android 14 and will receive four generations of Android updates.

Nubia Flip 5G

The Nubia Flip 5G will be made official on April 9 (Tuesday). As per teaser and leaks, the device will be a rebranded ZTE Libero Flip.

The Nubia Flip 5G will launch as the brand’s first clamshell foldable smartphone. It will arrive with mid-range specs and a price to match them. It is expected to be more affordable than last year’s Motorola Razr 40.

The phone will offer a 6.9-inch main display, a 1.43-inch circular cover screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset, a 50MP rear camera, a 16MP selfie camera, a 4,310mAh battery, and 33W charging support.

Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G Series

The Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G series is set to launch in India on April 12 (Friday). The company will unveil Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G and Infinix Note 40 Pro Plus 5G. The duo was announced globally recently.

Both these phones come with nearly identical specs. They only differ in terms of battery and charging speed. The ‘Pro’ variant houses a 5,000mAh battery and supports 45W wired charging as opposed to a 4,600mAh battery and 100 wired charging on the ‘Pro Plus.’

Apart from the aforementioned differences, the duo arrives with a 6.78-inch FHD+ 120Hz curved AMOLED display, a MediaTek Dimensity 7020 SoC, a 108MP rear camera, a 32MP selfie camera, JBL-tuned dual stereo speakers, and 20W wireless MagCharge support.

Infinix has officially revealed that the highly anticipated Note 40 Pro series will be launching in India on April 12th. The phones will also be available for pre-order on the same day and will be sold exclusively on Flipkart. The Flipkart promotional listing is also live.

Earlier this month, Infinix unveiled the Note 40 series globally, which includes the Note 40 Pro+, Pro 5G, Note 40 Pro, and Note 40 4G variants. However, for the Indian market, Infinix will only be launching the Note 40 Pro and Pro+ 5G models.

Infinix Note 40 Pro Series Key Specs

One of the key highlights of the Note 40 Pro 5G series is the super-fast charging technology. The Note 40 Pro+ 5G boasts a 100W All-Round FastCharge2.0 system that can juice up the phone to 50% capacity in just 8 minutes. The Note 40 Pro 5G features a 45W fast charging system that can achieve a 50% charge in 26 minutes.

Both phones come with support for 20W Wireless MagCharge, making them a great option for users who prefer wireless charging. The phones also support reverse charging, allowing you to share power with other devices wired or wirelessly at speeds up to 10W. The series packs in high-density batteries that Infinix claims can endure 1,600 full charge cycles while retaining 80% of their original capacity.

Looking at the display, the Note 40 Pro series features a large 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate for a smooth and immersive viewing experience. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass and boasts a peak brightness of up to 1300 nits.

Powering the phones is a MediaTek Dimensity 7020 6nm processor paired with either 8GB (Pro) or 12GB (Pro+) of LPDDR4x RAM. Storage starts at 256GB and can be further expanded up to 1TB with a microSD card.

On the camera front, the Note 40 Pro series boasts a triple-camera system on the back, featuring a powerful 108MP main sensor with OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) for capturing stunning photos and videos. The camera system also includes a 2MP macro sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. The front-facing camera for selfies and video calls is a 32MP sensor.

The Infinix Note 40 Pro series runs on Android 14 with Infinix’s own XOS 14 on top. Other notable features include an in-display fingerprint sensor, an IR sensor, stereo speakers with Sound by JBL, dust and splash resistance (IP53), and multiple connectivity options like 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and USB Type-C.

The post Infinix Note 40 Pro series launching in India on April 12 appeared first on Gizmochina.

Infinix Note 40 Pro series is scheduled to launch in April in India. Its landing page, available on Flipkart, has already mentioned some of the key specifications that will be available on the upcoming Note 40 Pro 5G and Note 40 Pro+ 5G smartphones. Just as the brand focused on offering versatile and faster charging capabilities on the Note 30 series last year, the Note 40 series is also expected to offer a top-notch charging experience.

Infinix Note 40 series offers 20W magnetic wireless charging

Magnetic wireless charging offers a stable connection, enabling faster and more efficient charging. On the other hand, traditional wireless charging utilizes induction technology, necessitating precise placement of devices on a charging pad to initiate the charging process. While both methods eliminate the need for cables, magnetic wireless charging often provides a more seamless and user-friendly experience due to its secure attachment mechanism and faster charging capabilities.

So far, Apple has been offering magnetic wireless charging with the MagSafe charging branding on its smartphones since the iPhone 12 series, which debuted in 2020. Android phones currently lack this feature, but it appears that the upcoming Infinix Note 40 series will be the first commercially available Android phones to offer support for it.

The Flipkart page indicates that the Note 40 series will feature 20W MagCharge wireless charging. Additionally, the Note 40 models will support reverse wireless charging, allowing users to charge other devices like phones, earbuds, and other compatible devices. In addition, the Note 40 models will come equipped with Cheetah X1, a dedicated chip for power management.

The Note 40 series also includes 4G versions of the Note 40 and Note 40 Pro. It appears that these devices will not make it to the Indian market. Instead, only the Dimensity 7020-powered 5G models, such as the Note 40 Pro and Note 40 Pro+, will be released in the country.

Now, the phone has appeared on the Google Play Console certification website revealing its front design. It has also been spotted on the Geekbench benchmarking platform. Both listings also mention the hardware details of the device.

Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G appears on Google Play Console and Geekbench

The Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G carries a model number X6851 on both the Google Play Console and Geekbench websites. The former includes a render of the device. It will feature a centre-aligned punch-hole cutout and a curved display. The listing mentions a resolution of 1080 x 2436 pixels and a 480 DPI screen density.

As per Google Play Console, internally, the Infinix Note 40 Pro is listed with MediaTek MT6855V processor comprising of two A78 cores at 2.2GHz and six A55 cores at 2GHz. This likely suggests that the device will be powered by a Dimensity 7020 processor. It will pack 8GB RAM onboard and ship with Android 14 OS out of the box.

The Geekbench listing also mentions the same processor and RAM details as the Google Play Console certification. In the benchmarking platform’s single-core and multi-core test results, the Note 40 Pro 5G scores 928 and 2,253 points respectively.

The Infinix Note 40 Pro 5G has also bagged BIS certification with the model number X6851. We can expect the device to launch in the coming weeks.
