Infinix has officially launched the Note 50s 5G smartphone in India, expanding its Note 50 lineup after introducing the Note 50x last month. The latest addition focuses on performance, display quality, camera tech, and design. According to the company, the Note 50s 5G is India’s slimmest phone, equipped with a curved-edge AMOLED screen measuring only 7.6mm in thickness. Here’s a look at the specifications, features, and price of the device.

Infinix Note 50s 5G specifications and features

The Infinix Note 50s 5G equipped with a 6.78-inch FHD+ 3D curved AMOLED display that offers a 144Hz refresh rate, 1300nits peak brightness, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It supports 10-bit color, 2304Hz PWM dimming, and 100% DCI-P3 coverage. Powered by the 4nm MediaTek Dimensity 7300 Ultimate chipset, the phone supports 90fps gaming and features Mali-G615 MC2 GPU.

The Note 50s 5G comes with 8GB LPDDR5X RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. RAM can be virtually extended by up to 8GB. The phone runs XOS 15 based on Android 15 and includes features like Game Mode, Dynamic Bar, Floating Window, and a smart assistant called Folax for hands-free interactions. The phone will be treated with two years of OS upgrades and three years of security updates.

On the camera front, it features a 64-megapixel Sony IMX682 primary sensor with 4K video recording support, a 2-megapixel secondary sensor, and dual LED flash. The front houses a 13-megapixel camera. Additional software tools include AI Eraser and AIGC Mode. It also offers stereo speakers tuned by JBL, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and an IR blaster.

The phone houses a 5500mAh battery with 45W fast charging, reverse charging, and bypass charging support. Notably, the Marine Drift Blue variant features a vegan leather back infused with microencapsulated fragrance for a unique aromatic experience.

Infinix Note 50s 5G price in India, availability

The Infinix Note 50s 5G is priced at Rs 15,999 for the 8GB+128GB model and Rs 17,999 for the 8GB+256GB variant. With bank and exchange offers, the effective starting price drops to Rs 14,999. It will be available via Flipkart from April 24, in Marine Drift Blue (vegan leather), Titanium Grey (metallic finish), and Burgundy Red (metallic finish).

According to Infinix, this will be the slimmest smartphone in its segment. It’s also the first in its class to sport a 144Hz 3D curved AMOLED display.

The 6.78-inch panel will support an FHD+ resolution, an in-display fingerprint sensor, and 2304Hz PWM dimming to reduce eye fatigue. Gorilla Glass 5 adds durability, while 10-bit color and 100% DCI-P3 coverage promise vivid and accurate visuals.

The Infinix Note 50s 5G will be available in three color options: Titanium Grey, Ruby Red, and Marine Drift Blue. The last of these features a vegan leather back with an interesting twist — it uses microencapsulation technology to emit a pleasant fragrance over time. Infinix calls this “Energizing Scent-Tech,” claiming it can release subtle top, middle, and base notes for up to six months, depending on usage and environmental conditions.

While other specifications of the Note 50s 5G are under wraps, it is said to be equipped with a 64MP Sony IMX682 primary camera.

Following closely behind the Note 50x launch, Infinix is preparing to unveil another smartphone in its Note 50 series in India. The Note 50s 5G+ has already been teased to arrive in three color options: Titanium Grey, Ruby Red, and Marine Drift Blue.

Of these, the latter is particularly interesting as Infinix claims it comes equipped with microencapsulation technology, which will imbue the phone with a long-lasting fragrance.

The company has now confirmed the launch date for the aromatic device in India. The Infinix Note 50s 5G+ is set to debut on April 18.

How does this scent tech work?

Infinix is marketing the technology as Energizing Scent-Tech. This process traps fragrance molecules within microscopic capsules, which are embedded in the phone’s vegan leather back panel. As a result, the phone gradually releases a light, refreshing scent over time.

According to Infinix, the scent is designed to be subtle and long-lasting, though its intensity and duration may vary depending on how the phone is used and environmental factors like temperature and humidity. The company claims the fragrance will last for up to six months.

“We try to innovate. One such innovation is this Energizing Scent-Tech. It’s like you have a good-looking phone and it smells good as well. There’s a lot of technology behind that,” Infinix India CEO Anish Kapoor said.

Kapoor also hinted that the phone will be priced under Rs 20,000 in India. That’s some $235 for a fragrant phone which isn’t exactly breaking the bank.

We don’t yet have the full spec sheet for the phone, but given its expected price tag, don’t expect anything particularly premium. That said, the official renders confirm it will feature a 64MP Sony IMX682 sensor as the main camera.

The Infinix Note 50s 5G will come in metallic finish options, such as Titanium Grey and Ruby Red. The Marine Drift Blue edition is an interesting variant, as it not only features a vegan leather back but is also equipped with microencapsulation technology, which allows the back panel to emit a long-lasting fragrance.

Advertised as “Energizing Scent-Tech,” the Marine Drift Blue variant can emit a multi-layered fragrance composed of vibrant top notes of marine and lemon, elegant middle notes of lily of the valley, and sophisticated base notes of amber and vetiver. So, it not only looks good — it smells great too.

Infinix is yet to reveal the technical details of the Note 50s 5G+. However, it looks like it will be positioned higher than the Note 50x 5G, which debuted with a price tag of Rs 11,499.
