New leaks are spilling more details on the Insta360’s upcoming X6 action camera before its official debut. We’ve already covered the camera’s redesign, specs, and pricing leaks as well as its FCC certification, and now its actual retail packaging has also surfaced online, confirming several details in the process.

Leaker Igor Bogdanov shared the first photo of the X6’s official box. It states that the camera can record 8K at 30 frames per second in full 360-degree mode for up to 140 minutes on a single charge. The packaging also confirms two features mentioned in earlier leaks: a low-light mode called PureVideo, and a new swappable lens system called Replaceable Lenses 2.0.

Separately, a Reddit user going by FunnySushi1738 posted several hands-on photos of the camera. The images, which have already been shared widely elsewhere without credit, place the X6 next to the older Insta360 model and GoPro’s now-discontinued Max 360 camera. The comparison shows the X6 is a bit taller than the GoPro but shorter and wider than its own predecessor, backing up earlier reports of a more compact body.

The same Reddit post also shows the back of the retail box, which lists the accessories included in the bundle. Among them is a 2,600 mAh battery, referred to as the Extra Xtreme battery.

Insta360 is reportedly set to launch the X6 on July 30. Based on pricing rumors circulating before this leak, the bundle shown in these images could cost around €789, or roughly $897. A version without the extra accessories is expected to sell for about €589 (around $670) in Europe.

With the packaging now public and a launch date reportedly just days away, official confirmation of these specs and pricing should not be far off.

Just days after leaked images gave us our first look at the upcoming Insta360 X6, a fresh report has now revealed full specifications of the handheld camera. According to details shared by WinFuture, the X6 will be smaller than the X5 but comes with several hardware upgrades.

Insta360 X6 Specifications

Starting with the camera itself, the X6 is said to feature two 1/1.1-inch image sensors, each rated at 42MP. Combined, they produce 360-degree photos of up to 120MP. The camera also supports 10-bit color in 360 mode, along with Dolby Vision and I-Log color profiles. It also gets an updated Adaptive Tone 2.0 feature for better exposure in difficult lighting.

As for videos, the camera can record 360-degree films at up to 8K resolution and 50 frames per second. What’s notable about this frame rate is that it allows footage to be played back at half speed for smooth slow-motion clips, which should be a big win for action and sports creators. 

In its PureVideo 360 mode, the camera can also shoot 8K at 30fps, while switching to single-lens mode unlocks 5K video at 60fps or 4K video at a very high 120fps. Insta360 is also promising 11K timelapse recording in full 360-degree mode.

For digital controls, the camera has an OLED touchscreen with a brightness of up to 1200 nits. Compared to the predecessor, the X6 has a bigger 2600mAh battery that is said to offer up to 233 minutes of recording.

The body measures about 10cm in length, 5cm in width, and under 4cm in thickness, and weighs around 195 grams. As we mentioned in our previous report, pricing is expected to go up. The base model is likely to cost around €700 in Europe, while the Essentials bundle may cost close to €800.

Insta360 has not confirmed an official launch date. More details are expected soon.

The leak comes from Roland Quandt of WinFuture, who spotted the action camera listed at a retailer. A retail listing at this stage typically confirms that a launch announcement is close.

Insta360 X5 Specifications

A big change for the new model seems to be the design. Instead of the longer body seen on earlier models, the X6 now has a shorter, more compact shape that looks closer to a traditional action camera. 

The general layout remains largely unchanged. The camera still uses two lenses, one on the front and one on the back, in a curved fisheye lens to capture 360-degree footage. 

The X6 also retains the small screen on the side of the device, though it has been redesigned with slightly different rounded edges compared to previous versions. Based on past models, this screen is likely to handle basic settings and let users preview what they are recording before and after a shot.

In terms of performance, the action camera is said to cap out at 8K 50 frames per second in full 360-degree mode. This is an improvement over the X5, which is limited to 8K at 30 frames per second in the same mode. 

Lucky for us, even pricing is out for both standard and combo. The base Insta360 X6 is expected to start at around €689 without any extra accessories, while the more complete “Essentials Bundle” could cost about €789. 

No official release date has been confirmed at this stage. However, given that retail listings have already surfaced, further details and an official announcement may follow in the coming weeks. We will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.
