While the financial intricacies of the deal, including the valuation and Intel’s retained stake, remain undisclosed, the establishment of Articul8 AI signals a strategic move by Intel to consolidate its focus on AI software development. The venture, born out of a fruitful two-year research collaboration with Boston Consulting Group (BCG), boasts a generative AI system capable of processing text and images, developed using Intel’s powerful supercomputer and a combination of open-source and proprietary technology.

A key player in Intel’s enterprise AI ambitions, Articul8 AI is strategically positioned to address the challenges of transitioning generative AI from proof of concept to production safely and cost-effectively. Arun Subramaniyan, former Intel vice president with a wealth of experience in the data center and AI domain, takes the helm as the CEO of Articul8, emphasizing the company’s commitment to overcoming obstacles in the rapidly evolving AI landscape.

The generative AI system, now ready for deployment, is tailored to meet the diverse needs of enterprise customers in sectors such as financial services, aerospace, semiconductors, and telecommunications. Intel’s strategic approach involves attracting external capital, following a model similar to its successful spin-off of Mobileye Global and its plans for an eventual IPO for its programmable chip unit.
