This year, the company turned things around as the iPad Pro 2020 is unveiled packing an <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/11/apple-unveils-the-m1-chipset-a-powerful-8-core-processor-for-the-mac/">M1 chipset</a>.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/image.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-385382" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/image.png?x44794" alt="Apple iPad Pro" width="817" height="435" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/image.png 817w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/image-300x160.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/image-768x409.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/image-696x371.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/image-789x420.png 789w" sizes="(max-width: 817px) 100vw, 817px" /></a></p>
<p>Remember the M1? The powerful chip designed for Mac was first announced last year and found its way into the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/11/10/apple-announces-new-macbook-air-and-macbook-13-pro-with-apple-m1-chipset/">MacBook Air and MacBook 13 Pro</a>. The chipset is a powerhouse CPU packing an innovative design and performance. The processor is said to bring up to 50% improvement in performance compared to the A12Z. The GPU performance is also bumped up by 40%. The processor is paired with up to 16GB of RAM and you can get up to 2TB of storage on the tablet.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/image-1.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-385383" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/image-1.png?x44794" alt="iPad Pro 12.9" width="862" height="490" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/image-1.png 862w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/image-1-300x171.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/image-1-768x437.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/image-1-696x396.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/image-1-739x420.png 739w" sizes="(max-width: 862px) 100vw, 862px" /></a></p>
<p>In terms of the display, the iPad Pro 2021 is available in two screen sizes; an 11-inch model that utilizes an LCD display and a 12.9-inch model equipped with a mini-LED screen which Apple calls Liquid Retina XDR display. The mini-LED screen has a peak brightness of 1,600 nits and 1,000 nits full-screen brightness. It also features support for HDR10, Dolby Vision, HLG imaging formats.</p>
<p>On the other hand, the LCD screen manages a peak brightness of 600 nits. The screen retans support for True Tone and features the DCI-P3 color gamut. The two displays come with a 120Hz refresh rate which Apple calls ProMotion.</p>
<p>Further, connectivity is improved on the iPad Pro 2021 models as they now support 5G connectivity. This is the first time Apple is releasing its tablet with 5G support. The 5G variants features an eSIM.</p>

<p>For photography, the slate packs a 12MP TrueDepth camera as well as an ultrawide-angle lens with 122º field of view up front. The wide FOV enables a feature which Apple calls Center Stage. Ho this works is that the tablet can zoom in and pan to keep the subject in the centre of the frame when in a video call. Also, if there are two subjects, it will zoom out to keep both subjects at the centre of the frame. The rear aspect features a dual camera setup which is a 12MP main sensor and a 10MP ultrawide sensor. There is also a LiDAR scanner that helps with autofocus in low-light. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/ipad-pro.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-385420" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/ipad-pro.png?x44794" alt="" width="723" height="234" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/ipad-pro.png 723w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/ipad-pro-300x97.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/ipad-pro-696x225.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 723px) 100vw, 723px" /></a></p>
