Just like every year, the upcoming iteration of the iPhone will bring small, yet refined changes, and this time, for cameras, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/07/26/apple-iphone-13-25w-charging/">fast charging</a>, and storage. Now, <em>Mark Gurman</em> from<a href="https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2021-08-10/apple-readies-new-iphones-with-pro-focused-camera-video-updates" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"> Bloomberg</a> reveals that Apple will bring Portrait mode for videos.</p>
<p>Apple officially released the Portrait mode(for photos) feature back in 2016 with the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/iphone-7">iPhone 7 series</a>. Now, it is touted that the iPhone 13 series will bring this feature to videos. The Portrait mode for videos will work similarly to photos where the depth sensor will produce a blur effect for the background while only focusing on the subject.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-405346 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Apple-iPhone-13-to-bring-Potrait-Mode-and-ProRes-for-videos.jpg?x10805" alt="Apple iPhone 13 to bring Potrait Mode and ProRes for videos" width="1024" height="507" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Apple-iPhone-13-to-bring-Potrait-Mode-and-ProRes-for-videos.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Apple-iPhone-13-to-bring-Potrait-Mode-and-ProRes-for-videos-300x149.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Apple-iPhone-13-to-bring-Potrait-Mode-and-ProRes-for-videos-768x380.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Apple-iPhone-13-to-bring-Potrait-Mode-and-ProRes-for-videos-324x160.jpg 324w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Apple-iPhone-13-to-bring-Potrait-Mode-and-ProRes-for-videos-696x345.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/Apple-iPhone-13-to-bring-Potrait-Mode-and-ProRes-for-videos-848x420.jpg 848w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></p>
<p>Additionally, Apple is also said to offer ProRes feature for videos in the upcoming Apple iPhone 13. The feature will let users record videos in higher quality with a format easier for editing in post. This feature will be similar to the ProRaw feature seen in Pro models of the current<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/iphone-12"> iPhone 12</a>. That said, the ProRes will also be exclusive to the Pro models of the upcoming iPhone 13.</p>
<p>Apart from video captures, Apple is also planning to update its existing photo filters with some new filters. Also, instead of applying a filter to the entire image, the upcoming iPhones will allow users to apply filters on specific objects.</p>

<p>Other than this, the Apple iPhone 13 series is expected to <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/07/23/apple-iphone-13-lineup-will-feature-lidar-scanner-and-up-to-1tb-of-storage/">come with a LiDAR scanner.</a> The series is expected to come with a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/03/02/apple-iphone-13-pro-120hz-display-smaller-notch/">slightly smaller notch</a> and will have a 120Hz refresh rate. Notably, the higher refresh rate is expected only in the Pro variants. Under the hood, the series will board <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/apple-a15/">Apple&#8217;s A15 chip</a> paired with up to whopping 1TB storage.</p>
<p>According to a leak, the upcoming iPhones are expected to feature improved fast charging support. Instead of 20W fast charging, the upcoming iPhone series is rumored to support 25W fast charging technology.</p>
<p>Moreover, the iPhone 13 series is <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/07/13/apple-iphone-13-series-new-colors/">said to bring back</a> the Rose Gold color along with a new Sunset Gold hue.</p>

Since then, the devices have been appearing on the reader of leaks frequently. info. One of the major talking points about the devices is the presence of a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/03/02/apple-iphone-13-pro-120hz-display-smaller-notch/">120Hz LTPO display with a smaller notch</a>. Today, Macrumors has brought their alleged front glass panel images.</p>
<figure id="attachment_350761" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-350761" style="width: 1065px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-350761 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/iPhone-12-Mint.jpg?x10805" alt="iPhone 12 featured" width="1065" height="648" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/iPhone-12-Mint.jpg 1065w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/iPhone-12-Mint-300x183.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/iPhone-12-Mint-768x467.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/iPhone-12-Mint-1024x623.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/iPhone-12-Mint-696x423.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/iPhone-12-Mint-690x420.jpg 690w" sizes="(max-width: 1065px) 100vw, 1065px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-350761" class="wp-caption-text">Representative image: iPhone 12</figcaption></figure>
<p>As per the <a href="https://www.macrumors.com/2021/03/23/alleged-iphone-13-front-glass-photo/">report</a>, the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/tag/iphone-13">iPhone 13</a> models will have the same sizes as before- 5.4-inch, 6.1-inch, and 6.7-inch across the models. Speaking of which, Apple is expected to name them as iPhone 13(first two sizes), iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max.</p>
<p>Out of this, the &#8216;Pro&#8217; variants are said to get a few upgrades. Talking about the smaller notch, the alleged front panel images show that the earpiece/speaker has moved to the top of the device. Early reports said that Apple <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/10/08/apple-iphone-13-display-notch/">isn&#8217;t in a mood to ditch the notch</a> anytime soon and the images corroborate with that.</p>
<figure id="attachment_379974" aria-describedby="caption-attachment-379974" style="width: 800px" class="wp-caption aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" class="wp-image-379974 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/alledged-iphone-13-models-front-panel-images.jpg?x10805" alt="iphone 13 models front panel image leak" width="800" height="552" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/alledged-iphone-13-models-front-panel-images.jpg 800w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/alledged-iphone-13-models-front-panel-images-300x207.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/alledged-iphone-13-models-front-panel-images-768x530.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/alledged-iphone-13-models-front-panel-images-100x70.jpg 100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/alledged-iphone-13-models-front-panel-images-218x150.jpg 218w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/alledged-iphone-13-models-front-panel-images-696x480.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/alledged-iphone-13-models-front-panel-images-609x420.jpg 609w" sizes="(max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px" /><figcaption id="caption-attachment-379974" class="wp-caption-text">credit: Macrumors</figcaption></figure>
<p>Apart from the notch, the iPhone 13 series is said to be similar to the predecessors. However, you can expect upgrades in the internals like the Apple A15 chipset, improved <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/02/03/apple-iphone-13-upgraded-ultra-wide-lens/">ultrawide camera</a>, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/02/18/qualcomm-to-launch-the-5g-modem-rf-integrated-snapdragon-x60-early-2021/">Qualcomm X60 5G modem</a>, storage up to <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/1tb-storage">1TB</a>, and support for <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/01/27/apple-iphone-13-wifi-6e/">Wi-Fi 6E</a>.</p>
<p>As mentioned above, the biggest change would be the  <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/12/30/only-pro-variants-of-the-apple-iphone-13-120hz-ltpo-display/">LTPO display panel with a 120Hz refresh rate</a> support on the &#8216;Pro&#8217; variants. Also, you might have wondered is there a 5.42-inch version for the iPhone 13 models.</p>
<p>Well, reports say that Apple still plans to launch a <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/02/15/apple-iphone-13-mini-coming/">smaller version despite lower sales</a> but it might do it under a different name say, iPhone 12S.</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The information about the upcoming iPhone 13 and iPhone SE 3 was </span><a href="https://twitter.com/DSCCRoss/status/1312013153547452418"><span style="font-weight: 400">shared</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> by Ross Young of DSCC (Display Supply Chain Consultants) on Twitter. These details come from his company as well as Mizuho Securities.</span></p>
<h2><strong>Apple iPhone 13 Specifications</strong></h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">According to Ross’s tweets and a shared image, the iPhone 13 models will come with same-sized displays like the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/iPhone-12/"><span style="font-weight: 400">iPhone 12</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> devices. Also, all four phones in the forthcoming series will have integrated touch (Y-Octa) panels. The exact sizes of their panels are as listed below.</span></p>
<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400"><span style="font-weight: 400">iPhone 13 &#8211; 5.42-inch</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400"><span style="font-weight: 400">iPhone 13 &#8211; 6.06-inch</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400"><span style="font-weight: 400">iPhone 13 Pro &#8211; 6.06-inch</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400"><span style="font-weight: 400">iPhone 13 Pro Max &#8211; 6.67-inch</span></li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Though all the models will have </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/OLED/"><span style="font-weight: 400">OLED</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> panels, their suppliers will be different. For instance, SDC (</span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Samsung-Display/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Samsung Display</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> Co., Ltd.) will be supplying panels for Pro Max as well as the smaller model, which </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/09/25/apple-iphone-12-mini-could-be-the-name-of-the-5-4-inch-model/"><span style="font-weight: 400">could be called as Mini</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Whereas, LGD (</span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/LG-Display/"><span style="font-weight: 400">LG Display</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">) will be providing panels for all the models except the top variant. Lastly, </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/BOE/"><span style="font-weight: 400">BOE</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> will be supplying panels for the Pro and standard iPhone 13.</span></p>
<h6 class="related"><strong>EDITOR&#8217;S PICK: </strong><a title="[UPDATED] Explained: Under Display Cameras &amp; its Application with the CEO of OTI Lumionics" href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/09/10/under-display-camera-oled-development-application-future/" rel="bookmark">Explained: Under Display Cameras &amp; its Application with the CEO of OTI Lumionics</a></h6>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Further, all of them will come with ProMotion technology (high refresh rate) but only the Pro Max model will feature LTPO for variable refresh rate like the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-note-20-ultra/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Galaxy Note20 Ultra</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">As for cameras, the regular iPhone 13 models (5.4”/6.1”) will come equipped with a dual-camera setup. The 1.7µm primary sensor on these devices will be the same one that will be debuting in iPhone 12 Pro Max.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">On the other hand, the two Pro models will be featuring a triple camera setup with an upgraded 1.9µm primary senor with SensorShift. These iPhones will also have ToF camera.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Lastly, all the four iPhone 13 series handsets will come with Face ID and therefore, we can also expect them to feature notch once again. Also, although all of them will be 5G-ready, only the Pro models will have support for mmWave.</span></p>
<h2><strong>Apple iPhone SE 3 Specifications</strong></h2>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Apart from iPhone 13, the specs of iPhone SE 3 has also emerged. According to the report, this phone will be releasing in Spring 2022 and not next year.  It will sport a larger 6.06-inch in-cell LCD panel supplied by either Sharp or JDI, compared to the smaller 4.7-inch screen on the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/apple-iphone-se-2020/"><span style="font-weight: 400">current-gen model</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Further, it will arrive with the same dual-camera setup as found on the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/apple-iphone-11/"><span style="font-weight: 400">iPhone 11</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">. That means it will feature a 1.4µm primary sensor. Since it will be launching almost after one and a half years, it will include support for 5G but only sub-6GHz like the regular iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 models.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Most interestingly, it will come equipped with Touch ID (fingerprint sensor). We expect it to be either side or top mounted like the new iPad Air. Above all, it could be the first </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Apple/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Apple</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> iPhone with a full-screen display without a notch (speculation from our end).</span></p>
