A set of real photos of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus were posted online this morning and we noticed an interesting feature on the iPhone 7 Plus. Smart connectors. Yes, it seems the iPhone 7 will have smart connectors just like the iPad Pro. This confirms the cases we covered last week are indeed for the iPhone 7 Plus.

We don’t know if Apple is changing the way it will work on the iPhone 7 Plus, but on the iPad Pro, the smart connectors allows you to provide power and data to accessories such as a keyboard (Logitech’s CREATE Keyboard or Apple’s smart keyboard) or charge the device via the connectors instead of the lightning port. One issue that has affected the success of this new technology is the lack of accessories. Many companies are not making hardware for it. Logitech which appears to be the only company excluding Apple who has accessories for it, said they had to work closely with Apple on the project. So unless Apple has solved this issue by not regulating how the smart connectors should work, it’ll just be another feature that has promising capabilities but won’t hit it off.

The images show nothing new about the iPhone 7 and have been cleverly taken to avoid disclosing the presence or absence of a 3.5 mm audio jack.

Apple will announce both phones by fall. They will be featuring faster A10 processors and start at 32GB of storage (no more 16GB).

Apple will soon release the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus models, most likely around September this year. The leaks about these two devices are already coming in fast but earlier today, the Chinese media went crazy after celebrity Cecelia posted a new photo on her Weibo account. It looked as if she was holding a new generation of the iPhone, as the design of the Apple device in her hand was a bit different than the current generation models.

Unfortunately, the picture isn’t very clear and zooming in doesn’t help in making out the key details of the phone’s back. But what made the Chinese media go crazy about the phone was that it didn’t have any antenna lines on the back. In case of the iPhone 6S, there are two antenna lines that go through the back of the device, which are clearly visible. However, in this case, there were no visible antenna lines, which is exactly what we expect from the new iPhone 7.

While the overall design of the iPhone 7 is said to be similar to the previous generation, as per the leaks and rumors which have been pretty consistent regarding this matter, the new iPhones should feature less obvious antenna lines, as they have been moved to the top and the bottom portion of the back cover. There seem to be some differences in the camera module as well, but they are less evident in this picture.

Anyway, at this moment, we can’t really confirm whether this is the iPhone 7.

iPhone 7 and 7 Plus should be announced sometime around September this year and the rumors and leaks about these two devices have continued to come in the past few months. We already have a good idea of how the phone will end up looking thanks to the recently leaked renders, but if you want to see the design in the flesh, you will have to wait till the official announcement. Or do you?

China has been the home to the best iPhone clones, and every year we have seen companies take inspiration from Apple’s flagship phone. While the release of the new iPhone 7 Plus is still a few months away, that didn’t stop a Chinese firm from making the first iPhone 7 Plus clone we have seen.

The phone, which you can see in the pictures above, reveals a strikingly similar design as the one we have seen in the previous renders. So, you have dual cameras on the top left corner as well as the new antenna design that hides the ugly lines usually seen on  the back panel of metal phones. And then, there’s the good old Apple logo in the middle. Finally, there are the words, “Designed by TAIWAN, Made in CHINA”.

As you can see, this iPhone 7 clone even comes in your favorite Rose Gold color. But before you get too excited, this is just a clone! We doubt whether the dual cameras on the back are even real. Also, it most likely is running some version of Android with its UI designed to look like iOS.

Although there’s still like six months left for the launch of the next generation Apple iPhone 7, leaks have already started to come in. The latest iPhone 7 leak shows off a unique antenna design, wherein the phone sports a metal body but there’s a single antenna line at the bottom. If you remember, usually, metal phones have dual antenna line at the back.

While Apple fans were pretty happy to see that the upcoming iPhone 7 was going to sport a slightly different look, Meizu VP Li Nan claims that the pictures which were leaked yesterday are actually of the upcoming Meizu Pro 6 flagship. Don’t trust him? Well, he has actually posted a picture of the real Meizu Pro 6 sporting this design.

He further adds that the factory staff who leaked this image most likely made a mistake. The company has been working on this design for quite some time and wanted to surprise fans at the conference.

Well, when he had said that Meizu Pro 6 was going to be an “iPhone 7 killer” we thought he was being optimistic. But after this leak, it looks like both the phones could have a very similar design.

As for the specs, Meizu has also confirmed that the Pro 6 flagship will be the first phone to feature the newly announced Helio X25 chipset. In fact, the chip will be exclusive to the phone for several months. This leak confirms a metal body on the design with unique antenna lines. Other rumored features of the phone include FHD 1080p resolution 5.5-inch display, 4GB RAM, 32GB ROM and a home button embedded fingerprint sensor.

So, in short, it looks like we are going to see two very similar looking smartphones in the coming months, one running on Android and the other on iOS. While Li Nan claims that the images are of the Pro 6, it’s possible that the iPhone 7 prototype looks very much similar to the Pro 6. If true, then Li Nan did a pretty good job of revealing Pro 6’s design quite early!
