The iPhone SE 3 has been in the works for more than a year now and has been subject to various leaks and rumors regarding its design and specs. Some have claimed it will come with a hardware upgrade and the same design as its predecessor, while others state it’ll feature a whole new appearance. Now, a new leak has revealed its design via CAD renders.

According to a TenTechReview report, tipster @xleaks7 has revealed new CAD renders showcasing the design of the upcoming iPhone SE 3.

According to these new renders, the SE 3 retains the same rear design with a single camera and LED flash. The dimensions also remain exactly the same as on the previous model, 138.4 x 67.3 x 7.3 mm. However, the similarities end there as the device has a new look at the front.

The front has a larger screen as the device has reportedly gotten rid of the massive forehead, chin, and touch ID button found in current-gen SE models. According to the tipster, the device will likely feature a 5.69-inch screen and may come with a notch design for the Face ID and selfie camera sensor.

The right side spine will apparently house a power button and sim tray while the left side will have volume buttons and a silent mode switch. The new design makes the phone look more like an iPhone XR rather than an iPhone SE device.

The upcoming iPhone SE 3 is said to house an A14 Bionic or the A15 Bionic chipset and come with 5G network connectivity.

These new designs render however are in stark contrast to previous leaks from trusted sources like the noted Apple analyst and Bloomberg correspondent Mark Gurman, who earlier stated that the iPhone SE 3 design will be akin to iPhone SE 2’s. So we suggest you take these recent design renders with a pinch of salt and stay tuned for more updates on the matter.

In the past couple of months, the iPhone SE 3 has been subject to multiple rumours. Recently, the phone’s concept renders were revealed and were suggested that the device will use the same chassis as the predecessor iPhone SE 2020. Now, a new piece of information from Macotakara reveals that there will be a new iPhone SE model with upgraded connectivity and internals, but will have the same design as the old SE.

According to Macotakara, the Apple iPhone SE 3 will feature 5G connectivity instead of 4G seen in the iPhone SE 2020. The smartphone is also touted to bring improved performance with upgraded internals. Rumours have it that Apple will use the A15 Bionic chipset. For those who haven’t been following the Apple world, the A15 Bionic is the same chipset that powers the latest iPhone 13 series. 

That said, the phone will have a performance boost paired with a good network. The device will have Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X60 5G modem and is expected to have physical SIM and eSIM support. In terms of the other specs, the phone may feature a 4.7-inch display with noticeable bezels at the top and bottom. It could also feature a TouchID sensor which will double up as a home button.

The iPhone SE 3 is expected to be the most powerful compact smartphone launching in the upcoming months. Apple is yet to reveal the official launch date for the phone but, we expect it to launch soon.

At the Time Flies event in September, Apple only unveiled new tablets (iPad Air 4th Generation & iPad 8th Generation) and smartwatches (Apple Watch Series 6 & Apple Watch SE). The Cupertino-based tech giant is yet to announce the iPhone 12 series. In fact, the company is yet to even reveal the date for its launch event. Ahead of it, a massive report on iPhone 13 and iPhone SE 3 has come up.

The information about the upcoming iPhone 13 and iPhone SE 3 was shared by Ross Young of DSCC (Display Supply Chain Consultants) on Twitter. These details come from his company as well as Mizuho Securities.

Apple iPhone 13 Specifications

According to Ross’s tweets and a shared image, the iPhone 13 models will come with same-sized displays like the iPhone 12 devices. Also, all four phones in the forthcoming series will have integrated touch (Y-Octa) panels. The exact sizes of their panels are as listed below.

• iPhone 13 – 5.42-inch
• iPhone 13 – 6.06-inch
• iPhone 13 Pro – 6.06-inch
• iPhone 13 Pro Max – 6.67-inch

Though all the models will have OLED panels, their suppliers will be different. For instance, SDC (Samsung Display Co., Ltd.) will be supplying panels for Pro Max as well as the smaller model, which could be called as Mini.

Whereas, LGD (LG Display) will be providing panels for all the models except the top variant. Lastly, BOE will be supplying panels for the Pro and standard iPhone 13.

Further, all of them will come with ProMotion technology (high refresh rate) but only the Pro Max model will feature LTPO for variable refresh rate like the Galaxy Note20 Ultra.

As for cameras, the regular iPhone 13 models (5.4”/6.1”) will come equipped with a dual-camera setup. The 1.7µm primary sensor on these devices will be the same one that will be debuting in iPhone 12 Pro Max.

On the other hand, the two Pro models will be featuring a triple camera setup with an upgraded 1.9µm primary senor with SensorShift. These iPhones will also have ToF camera.

Lastly, all the four iPhone 13 series handsets will come with Face ID and therefore, we can also expect them to feature notch once again. Also, although all of them will be 5G-ready, only the Pro models will have support for mmWave.

Apple iPhone SE 3 Specifications

Apart from iPhone 13, the specs of iPhone SE 3 has also emerged. According to the report, this phone will be releasing in Spring 2022 and not next year.  It will sport a larger 6.06-inch in-cell LCD panel supplied by either Sharp or JDI, compared to the smaller 4.7-inch screen on the current-gen model.

Further, it will arrive with the same dual-camera setup as found on the iPhone 11. That means it will feature a 1.4µm primary sensor. Since it will be launching almost after one and a half years, it will include support for 5G but only sub-6GHz like the regular iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 models.

Most interestingly, it will come equipped with Touch ID (fingerprint sensor). We expect it to be either side or top mounted like the new iPad Air. Above all, it could be the first Apple iPhone with a full-screen display without a notch (speculation from our end).
