But the fact it is affordable does not necessarily mean that the new handset is the best value for money phone by Apple. There are a few other interesting choices you can do if you are looking for an iPhone but you do not want to spend a huge amount of money. We are talking about purchasing iPhones from previous generations. Apple still has the 2019 iPhone XR and the iPhone Xs in stock, and you can get them at interesting prices. Here is a specs comparison between iPhone SE 2020, iPhone XR, and iPhone Xs in order to let you better understand which one fits your needs the most.

Design

The iPhone SE series is famous for its incredibly compact designs. The iPhone SE 2020 is definitely the most compact last-generation flagship. But it comes with outdated aesthetics: it has the same design as the iPhone 8 released in 2017 (just small differences such as the position of the Apple logo). The most beautiful handset is undoubtedly the iPhone Xs packing the most narrow bezels around the display, a glass back and a frame made of stainless steel. The handset is even the only with the IP68 certification for water resistance (up to 2m deep). Despite it has a much bigger display than iPhone SE, the iPhone Xs is still one of the most compact last-generation flagships.

Display

It has the best design and even the best display panel. We are naturally talking about the iPhone Xs, which, unlike its two opponents of this comparison, boasts an OLED display. The display of the iPhone Xs supports wide color gamut, it is HDR10-compliant and it even supports the Dolby Vision technology. Among the other features making it an outstanding panel we got a 120 Hz touch-sampling rate, 3D Touch, and True Tone technology, as well as a high peak brightness. Right after we got the iPhone XR which comes with a wider display but provides an inferior image quality to the iPhone Xs.

Hardware/Software

The iPhone SE 2020 is equipped with the best and most recent chipset by Apple: the A13 Bionic. iPhone Xs and XR ship with the older and less powerful Apple A12 Bionic. The iPhone Xs offers 1 gig RAM more than iPhone SE 2020, but I prefer having a better chipset than more RAM on a phone. So, the iPhone SE 2020 wins the hardware comparison. It ships with iOS 13, while iPhone Xs and XR have iOS 12 out of the box.

Camera

The most advanced camera department belongs to the iPhone Xs which is the only with a dual rear camera including a telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom. But the iPhone SE 2020 and iPhone XR are still amazing camera phones.

Battery

The battery of the iPhone SE 2020 is a bit disappointing compared to all the other iPhones. With an 1821 mAh capacity, it can only guarantee one day of moderate usage at max. The iPhone XR wins the battery comparison with a bigger 2942 mAh unit, but even though it wins this comparison, it is not among the best battery phones out there. With all of these phones, you can only get an average battery life at max. If you want an Apple device with long battery life, you should go for the iPhone 11 Pro Max boasting a 3969 mAh battery.

Price

iPhone SE 2020 has a starting price tag of $399/€499, iPhone XR sells starting from $599, and iPhone Xs had a $999 starting price, but you can easily find it for less than $700/€700 thanks to online street prices. The iPhone Xs is naturally the best phone of this comparison, but iPhone SE 2020 offers the highest value for money. You should go for the iPhone XR only if you are not satisfied with the battery of the iPhone SE 2020.

Today’s follow up report details the resale value trends of the Galaxy S10 and iPhone XS/XR ranges. It is interesting to note that the projections look grim for consumers as the flagships are likely to depreciate at a much more aggressive rate in 2019, especially for Galaxy S10 series. The report shows that the Galaxy S10 lost more value in the first month after its launch than the iPhone XS lost in 9 months. The Samsung Galaxy S10 models lost 46.69% in the first month of release while the iPhone XS/XR range lost 42.40% in 9 months of release.

Samsung released a 1TB version of the S10 but it didn’t hold up in value as it is shown to have recorded the highest monetary loss in the first month, going from a starting price of $1,600 down to $750, losing $850. However, the Galaxy S10e had the biggest depreciation rate in the first month (-53.3%).

The iPhone XS/XR also saw some significant depreciation in value, with the iPhone XR (256GB) having the biggest depreciation of -$368 among the three available storage variants.

The iPhone XS 512GB variant also had the biggest loss in monetary value, going down from $1,349 to $706. For the iPhone XS Max models, the same scenario also played out, with the biggest loss coming to the 512GB version whose price fell from $1,449 to $801 in nine months.

This pattern of smartphone depreciation is that even though the variant with the largest storage offers the biggest value for money at inception, they depreciate faster in value.

Another important thing we could draw out from the report is that even though the iPhone XS range is outperforming the Galaxy S10 range in terms of resale value, it isn’t a cause for celebration for Apple owners. The iPhone XS is losing value much faster than the iPhone X did in 9months post-launch. In fact, the XS lost -13.85% more value than the iPhone X.

So, there is a raging storm ahead for both Apple and Samsung. Both companies have also seen their market shares tumble in some major markets like India and China.

The designing company usually gives a more premium look to the Apple iPhone and Samsung Galaxy Smartphones. They make the smartphones a luxury item by engraving superior material such as gold, diamonds and by doing designing on the device. This time Caviar is set to launch a new series of custom-made jewelry editions of iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max.

Cavier is bringing a Prima collection of three classic Russian ballers including Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, and La Bayadere. These three new models will be represented by one heroine of respected ballets. Pria Collection new designs from Caviar use more than 20 diamonds per device. These engravements on the phone’s exterior make it look fantastic and more beautiful. Further, the Artcraft on the device is done manually, and it takes around 12 days to finish it on a single piece.

As looking above in the image, each one of the models looks superficial, and each one has its own aura. The Caviar iPhone XS/XS Max AURORA carries golden plating with diamonds present on the backside. It is available for a whopping $6380. The next one is the Odette edition which hosts silver engraving along with diamonds and starts from $6490. The most premium NIKIYA carries a sculpture in multiple colors on the back and is available for $6760. The slash which started in China has made its way to Hong Kong.

A report from the Hong Kong News Agency says telecom operators have begun to slash prices by several hundreds of Hong Kong Dollars (HKD). The 512GB iPhone XS is said to have received a price cut of HKD 2050 (~$260).

Following poor sales in the region, Apple decided to lower prices in certain countries. In China, the price of the new iPhones is reported to have been lowered to the level before the Renminbi depreciated. For other countries, Apple is allowing the price to be based on the local currency and not based on US Dollars.

This price slash is already yielding positive results in China. Tmall, one of China’s top online retail stores recorded a 76% surge in sales within two weeks of slashing prices. Suning also reported over 80% increase in sales when it slashed prices in January.

While the company did not release any official statement related to the company, Apple has now rolled out iOS 12.0.1 update that fixes the said charging issue on the iPhone XS lineup.

Along with that, the update also fixes a major Wi-Fi bug that could cause some iPhone XS devices to prefer to join a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network rather than a 5GHz. It also fixes the reorientation of the “123” number key on the iPad, which was moved in the iOS 12 update and swapped with the emoji/language key.

The official change-log from the company for the iOS 12.0.1 update, which includes bug fixes and improvements for your iPhone or iPad, mentions following:

Fixes an issue where some iPhone XS devices do not immediately charge when connected to a Lightning cable.

Resolves an issue that could cause iPhone XS devices to rejoin a Wi-Fi network at 2.4 GHz instead of 5 GHz.

Restores the original position of the “.?123” key on the iPad keyboard

Fixes an issue where subtitles may not appear in some video apps

Addresses an issue where Bluetooth could become unavailable

The iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max charging issue was widely reported soon after the new devices hit the market. The issue required having the display on while connecting the Lightning cable to ensure charging was happening. However, not all the devices were affected with this issue.

To estimate the sales, the company used dated from over a million mobile apps.

Flurry Analytics’ data indicates that this year’s flagship iPhones have proved to be a significant success for Apple. This too even before the iPhone XR, which is the cheapest among the three phones launched this year, is yet to go on sale.

In the first week itself, the iPhone XS gained an overall iPhone market share of 0.42 percent. The bigger XS Max was more successful, capturing 0.68 percent share of all iPhones currently in use in the U.S. The total combined share stands at 1.1 percent of all iPhones in just one week.

The company further added that the sales of iPhone XS and the XS Max in the first week has beat out the sales of last year’s iPhone 8 and the 8 Plus. It says that the like-for-like comparison shows that Apple generated 7 percent more revenue from iPhone XS/Max sales than the combined sales of the iPhone X and iPhone 8/Plus in the equivalent periods last year.

According to Flurry Analytics, the trend will continue into the holidays. It said:

Our net takeaway is that Apple is able still able to drive solid market share uptake with its latest devices, but is also actively raising prices to keep revenue growing. The strategy appears to be working, and they are well positioned heading into the holiday season. We look forward to sharing more insights as the holiday season progresses.

In terms of market penetration, the iPhone 7 still holds the top position with around 15.40 percent while the iPhone 7 Plus is at the second spot with 12.73 percent market share. The iPhone 6S has 12.40 percent market penetration.

Both phones are now on sale around the globe. However, some users have discovered a charging issue affecting the new iPhones.

These owners have discovered that when they plugged in their phone to charge with the wired charger, it didn’t charge until they had to wake up the screen. Some users said they had to flip the cable before it began to charge.

Popular YouTuber, Lewis Hilsenteger of Unbox Therapy was notified of the issue and decided to confirm. Of the eights iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max units he got his hands on, only one of them isn’t suffering from the issue. One iPhone XS Max didn’t even wake up even after pushing the power button while another didn’t charge at all even after waking up the phone. You can head to his channel to watch the video.

A thread created on the Apple Community website has a long list of people suffering from the charging issue. Most have said the issue only comes up when the display has gone off for more than five seconds. So if the screen is on and you plug it in, it won’t charge.

READ MORE: Qualcomm accuses Apple of leaking its modem tech to Intel

There is a suggested fix that says users should turn on the “USB Accessories” feature under “Face ID and Passcode” settings. However, the fix doesn’t seem to be working for everyone. Some have also taken their phone in for a replacement but the replacement units are also suffering from the same issue. So getting a replacement will do you no good.

Apple hasn’t issued an official statement yet. The problem is probably software-related and an update will likely be pushed out to fix it.

The Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium, Apple iPhone Xs Max, iPhone Xs, Meizu 16th Plus and the unannounced Honor V20 follows the Mate 20 in the list. The iPhone Xr and OnePlus 6T are also present on the list with respective scores of 100 and 99. The benchmarking reports of these phones are yet to appear on the website of Dx0Mark. There is a high possibility that the above leak nothing but fake.

A DxOMark score is a combination of photography and video recording scores. The the current ranking of smartphones according to their DxOMark scores is shown on the right side in the above image. The Huawei P20 Pro with its triple camera setup as at the numero uno position with 109 score. The HTC U12+ and Samsung Galaxy Note 9 are on second and third positions with respective scores of 103. As it can be seen, the newly released smartphones such as the new iPhones, Xperia XZ2 Premium, Meizu 16th Plus have not appeared on the list yet.

Since the leaked photo showing the DxOMark scores of unannounced and newly released phones appears fake, it remains to be seen how highly awaited phones like OnePlus 6T and Mate 20 Pro will rank on the list.

That is a lot of space for your hi-res photos, songs, and HD videos. While the extra storage is good news for iPhone users who want more than 256GB of storage, it is a money maker for Apple and that is because they are charging a lot more than usual. This shouldn’t be a big surprise as Apple has always charged more than what is considered a fair price for its products.

The cost of storage has reduced a lot recently which means there shouldn’t be a huge difference in price when you are settling for a higher storage but Apple is still charging a lot when you choose a higher storage variant. One can say storage is its new gold mine for the new iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max by the time you do the math and realize how much Apple is making.

A researcher at IHS Markit Ltd, Wayne Lam, said Apple pays 25 cents for every gigabyte of storage but charges its customers about 78 cents per gigabyte. Apple is charging $349 extra if you jump from the 64GB model to the 512GB model and analysts say that is an extra $134 in profit for Apple.

Unlike other components which may need the phone to be redesigned if they differ from one phone to the other, it is not like that for storage. All it takes in simple terms is a swap of the storage chip.

Sale of the higher storage variants isn’t the only way Apple is making money from the new iPhones. Users are likely to spend more money on content (songs, apps, videos) when they have more storage.

Apple is also offering an iCloud backup plan for $9.99 a month for 2TB of storage. When combined with an Apple Music subscription and purchase of at least a movie on iTunes each month, an owner of the 512GB iPhone XS Max may spend $40 more than others.

However, there is a possibility that Apple isn’t making so much money at the moment as its businesses with component suppliers are contract based. So there is a chance it is still buying storage at a higher price before the recent slash in storage prices.

The company dubbed “the Apple of China” takes on Apple in a subtle way, by mimicking the iterations of the new iPhone models in the naming of three different product bundles. The product bundles are named XR suite, XS suite and XS Max set and are priced exactly as the starting prices of the three new iPhone models in China.

The listing takes a direct swipe at the pricing of the three iPhone models; the iPhone XR, XS and XS Max. Apple released the pricing of the three models in China yesterday and they are not cheap! Apple products are extremely popular in China and are priced too high for many Chinese. We vividly recall the sad and unfortunate incident that occurred in 2012 when a 17-year-old boy from Anhui, one of China’s poorest provinces, sold his kidney for 22,000 yuan (£2,200) and used the money to buy an iPhone and iPad. As at then, the iPhone price started at 3,988 yuan (£400), and iPads began at 2,988 yuan (£300). The pricing of Apple products continued to skyrocket unabated. On a lighter side, Xiaomi is perhaps trying to prevent such alarming cases of teens selling off their kidneys to get an iPhone. And it is doing that by slapping us with some attractive and cool Mi gadgets we can get at the price of just one iPhone. As surreal as that sounds, it isn’t true. The Chinese company never made mention of that but this is just a marketing strategy to take on the competition. Apple iPhone sales plummetted in China in recent times as a result of the rise of rival brands like Xiaomi, OPPO, Vivo and others.

The XR suite as you can guess mimics the iPhone XR which interestingly is the base model but starts at 6499 yuan ($947) in China. For this amount, Xiaomi offers buyers the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE (6+128GB) Grey, Mi Band 3, Mi Notebook Air 12.5 Inch 4+256G Silver and the Mi Bluetooth Headset Mini (Black). Pricing for the high-end iPhone XS begins at 8699 Yuan ($1268) in China and Xiaomi mirrors that with the XS Suite which offers buyers the flagship Mi MIX 2S (8GB+256GB) Black, Mi Band 3, Mi Notebook Air 13.3″ (Silver) and the Mi Bluetooth Headset Mini (Black).

Thirdly, the top-most iPhone XS Max with a giant display begins at a whopping 9599 yuan ($1398). For that amount, Xiaomi says we can get the XS Max bundle comprising the Mi 8 (6GB+128GB), Mi Notebook Pro, Mi Bluetooth Collar Headset and Mi Band 3 on Mi.com. Sadly, this is only applicable in China as all the products in the bundles will cost more than what is being offered on Xiaomi’s website. It would be interesting, though, to see such bundles being offered in India, Spain and other regions where XIaomi has its physical presence.

At the launch event of the new iPhones, Apple did not confirm on their RAM capacities. However, the amount of RAM present inside the iPhone XS, XS Max and XR have been recently revealed through their AnTuTu and Geekbench listings. Now, AnTuTu has shared a new screenshot which reveals that the Apple A12 powered iPhone XS handset has recorded a marvelous score of more 363k.

In the CPU, GPU, UX and memory tests of AnTuTu, the iPhone XS has respectively scored 133,561, 150,931, 66,474 and 12,559 which brings the total benchmarking score to 363,525. Most of the Android flagship phones powered by Snapdragon 845 chipset have scored around 290k on AnTuTu which shows how powerful the Apple A12 SoC is.

Compared to the Apple A11 chipset that powers the iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X, the hexa-core A12 offers nearly 33.3 percent increased performance, doubled GPU score, 50 percent improvement in UX score and around 20 percent improvement in memory score because of which the iPhone XS has managed to achieve such an impressive benchmarking score.

The Apple A12 Bionic which includes two high-performance cores that worker 15 percent faster than the Apple A11 chipset and four power-efficiency cores that consumes 50 percent less power than A11. The SoC includes four-core GPU which also offers 50 percent better graphics performance than the GPU of A11.

The iPhone Xs features 4 GB of RAM and so does the iPhone Xs Max smartphone. The iPhone Xs and Xs Max respectively feature 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch AMOLED screens. The iPhone Xr that is equipped with a 6.1-inch LCD screen is packed with 3 GB of RAM.

The Kirin 980 that will be powering the upcoming Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro handset is also a 7nm chipset. An unconfirmed AnTuTu listing of Kirin 980 powered Mate 20 that had surfaced earlier this year had revealed an impressive benchmarking score of 350k score. However, the actual performance scores of the Kirin 980 will be revealed after the announcement of Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro that is slated to happen on Oct. 16. The 7nm Snapdragon 855 chipset is slated to go official by the end of this year. It is expected to power most of the Android flagship phones arriving in 2019.

As mentioned above, the benchmarking score of the best Android phone is 70k less than A12. However, the arrival of Kirin 980 and Snapdragon 855 will change things.

Yesterday, the Cupertino giant unveiled iPhone Xs, Xs Max and Xr, the new generation of iPhones composed of two more advanced variants and an affordable iPhone which will be available in more color variants. According to a post published on Twitter by Huawei, Apple will bring nothing new to the market with its new flagships. The post says “thank you for keeping things the same. See you in London 16.10.18”. In case you do not know, 16th October 2018 is the date on which Huawei Mate 20 series will be unveiled in London.

With the hashtag #HigherIntelligence, the Chinese company is also hinting at more advanced features based on artificial intelligence on its upcoming flagships. From what Huawei said, it seems that the Mate 20 series will be way more innovative than 2018 iPhones. We already know that the new line-up will be powered by the new octa-core Kirin 980 proprietary SoC. Alongside the new Apple A12 Bionic found on the new 2018 iPhones, until now Kirin 980 is the only chipset built with a 7 nm production process, and it will be the second to hit the market thanks to the Mate 20 series.

Among the rumored specs of the upcoming Mate 20, there is a 6.3-inch display with the AMOLED technology, a 19.5:9 aspect ratio (so it seems that notch will be there) and a Full HD+ resolution of 2244 x 1080 pixels. The Kirin 980 chipset will be accompanied by 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. There will also be a triple camera setup composed of three sensors: it should be the same configuration as the P20 Pro. At last, we expect to see a battery with a capacity of 4000 mAh or more.

While unveiling its new devices, Apple usually does not reveal all the important details of their specs sheet, and the same applies to this year’s iPhones as well — iPhone Xs, Xs Max and Xr. The most important detail which was not revealed by the Cupertino giant was the amount of RAM on its new smartphones. But today, three handsets surfaced on some Geekbench listings which revealed both the quantity of RAM and their scores obtained on benchmarks. According to Geekbench, both iPhone Xs and Xs Max come with 4 GB of RAM, that is 1 GB more than the previous generation.

The affordable model iPhone Xr instead comes with 3 GB of RAM just like the original iPhone X. Coming to benchmark scores, Geekbench highlighted a very high result in single-core performance for the iPhone Xs Max: 4813 points, that is much better than the previous generation, while there is just a slight difference in multi-core performance with 10266 points. Due to its lower amount of RAM, iPhone Xr obtained a lower score with 4754 in single-core and 9367 points in multi-core. There are still other important details we need to know about iPhone Xs, Xs Max, and Xr, such as the clock frequency of the chipset.

But they should be revealed very soon as the devices are going to hit the shelves on September 21. All the iPhones of this year are powered by an hexa-core Apple A12 Bionic chipset, but they have displays of different sizes. The first has a 5.8-inch AMOLED panel, the second has a 6.5-inch AMOLED display (the biggest screen ever seen on an Apple phone) and the third is in the middle with a 6.1-inch display and the LCD technology. Even though it is cheaper, according to Apple, iPhone Xr has the best LCD display ever used on a phone.

The second SIM is an eSIM much like what Google did with the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL.

Even at that, the only way to be able to use two different carriers is if your device is unlocked. Also, you can’t use two CDMA networks if your physical SIM is a CDMA carrier. The list of carriers that support eSIMs are still very small but iPhones are very popular and we won’t be surprised if more networks adopt eSIM support simply because of the new models. To learn more about eSIM technology, you should check out this special article we wrote.

For those living in China, Hong Kong, or Macau, the iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max sold there don’t have an eSIM. Instead, you get to use two physical nano-SIM cards just like a lot of Android dual SIM phones. Both SIM cards use the same tray – one sits on top and the other sits below with the chip side facing upwards for the top one and facing downwards for the one below.

Owners will be able to make and receive calls from both SIM cards but when you are on a call on one line, calls to the other are sent to voicemail. Apple will also let you set a particular SIM as default for calls or data. This should be familiar to Android users who may be switching to the new iPhones.

You will also be able to set which number is used as the default for calling certain contacts. First-time calls to a number use the default number for calling but a specific number can be set under the contact’s setting. You will also be able to set which line is used for iMessage and FaceTime under settings. Both SIMs will be labeled (P) for Primary and (S) for Secondary by default but you can also change the labels.

The iPhone XS Max featuring a huge 6.5-inch OLED screen was unveiled alongside it. The iPhone XR featuring a notched LCD screen was also announced alongside the iPhone XS and XS Max. Fresh information reveals with the arrival of the 2018 iPhones, Apple has discontinued older iPhones like iPhone 6S and iPhone SE. The Cupertino company has also halted the sales of the iPhone X permanently.

It is unusual for Apple to discontinue iPhone X because the company is known for slashing the price of previous year’s model with the arrival of a new smartphone. Instead of selling the iPhone X with a reduced pricing, Apple has decided to kill it.

It is now being speculated that if Apple would have sold the iPhone X with discounted pricing, it may not have earned good profits for the company since the cost of materials required would not have decreased significantly. It appears that the iPhone XR that has a starting price of $749 is a good replacement for the iPhone X.

Now that the iPhone 6S, 6S Plus and iPhone SE have been discontinued, the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are the new entry-level phones from the company. Both phones are respectively priced at $449 and $569. The iPhone 8 and 8 Plus are respectively priced at $599 and $699.

Since the 4-inch iPhone SE is no longer available for buying, the 4.7-inch iPhone 7 and iPhone 8 are the smallest iPhones available for buying in the U.S. At present, the iPhone X, iPhone 6S, 6S Plus and iPhone SE could be available for buying in some countries, but they will be soon discontinued with the release of new iPhones.

The iPhone XR comes in 64 GB, 128 GB and 256 GB storage options. These models are respectively priced at $749, $799 and $899. The storage variants of the iPhone X are 64 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB. These variants are respectively cost $999, $1,149 and $1,349. The 64 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB iPhone XS Max models are respectively price at $1,099, $1,249 and $1,449.

At a launch event in California, the tech giant unveiled three new iPhones — Apple iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max along with the iPhone XR. Among the three new phones, the iPhone XS and XS Plus are the successors of the iPhone X that was launched last year.

The iPhone XS features a 5.8-inch display while the XS Plus has a 6.5-inch display. The company is calling this OLED HDR screen as Super Retina, which provides a pixel density of 458ppi. Apple also says that it has 60 percent greater dynamic range for better colors. It is also a 3D Touch pressure-sensitive screen.

Both the phones are powered by Apple A12 Bionic chipset, which is manufactured using the 7-nanometer process and promises to launch apps 30 percent faster than 2017 iPhones. The SoC has six-core CPU, quad-core GPU, and a dedicated neural engine. The company says that the new chipset can handle five trillion AI operations per second and should provide real-time machine learning.

It also comes with an improved camera configuration. There are two camera sensors on the back side, which includes 12-megapixel primary lens with f/1.8 aperture and a 12-megapixel secondary telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture for lossless 2X zoom. On the front side, there’s a 7-megapixel snapper with f/2.2 aperture, coupled with IR camera to enable portrait mode. The Face ID feature, which unlocked the phone through facial recognition, also works faster.

The camera can detect people’s faces and bodies, and also offers an instant red-eye reduction. There’s Smart HDR which can identify highlights and find shadow detail. An interesting feature is that you can now adjust the depth of a portrait mode photo after capturing the image.

Both, the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max, come in three storage options — 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB. The devices are also IP68 rated, which means that both phones are water-resistant and can survive in water up to 30 minutes in 2 meters depth.

Another major feature of the new iPhone is the support for Dual SIM cards through eSIM technology. While the addition of Dual SIM support may not be a big deal in the US, it’s a huge deal for Asian countries. A special model for China has support for two physical SIM cards.

Running on iOS 12, the new iPhone XS and XS Max has support for stereo sound with a wider stereo field than 2017 iPhones, claims the company. As for the battery, the company has not revealed specifications but says that the iPhone XS should last 30 minutes longer than iPhone X and the iPhone XS Max should have 1.5 hours longer battery life than the iPhone X.

Most likely you haven’t but there are speculations that it is the name Apple‘s next-generation iPhone X model would adopt. That is just a speculation as there is nothing to officially back it up. However, there is a high tendency that Apple will launch a new OLED packing model this year.

As you would recall, the iPhone X came with an awesomely high price tag and the breakdown of its manufacturing cost had revealed that almost a third of the revenue to produce an iPhone X went to Samsung. However, Apple is said to be looking for ways to cut that down so that it can be more flexible with the final retail pricing of the next-gen iPhone Xs, or whatever name the iPhone X successor adopts. Both companies are reportedly in negotiations with the top Execs from the Korean giant paying a visit to Apple’s HQ recently but the meeting reportedly didn’t yield the needed results.

Details emerging from sources familiar with the matter is that in order to reach Apple’s lower tag demands, Samsung is offering to supply the Y-Octa panels that it uses for the Galaxy S9+. These panels are cheaper to produce, though the yield might not be enough for Apple’s mass quantities as Apple is reportedly planning the launch of two OLED phones this year. However, Apple is also said to be weighing the option of reverting to LCD panels which is more affordable. The iPhone 9 is expected to feature a 6.1-inch display that will be supplied by Japan Display and Sharp, apparently, leaving crumbs for Korean companies. This will potentially result in an increase in iPhone 9 shipments from 100 million units previously forecasted to 150 million units.

Two of them are expected to feature OLED panels such as iPhone X from 2017. The third iPhone is expected to feature a larger-sized LCD panel. Fresh information claims that this iPhone will be featuring an LCD panel from Japan Display (JDI)

Previous reports have revealed that the one of the 2018 iPhones will house a 6.1-inch LCD screen. It will be an entry-level iPhone that will be priced around $700 to $800. Latest leak reveals that it will be featuring Full Active 6.1-inch LCD panel that was introduced in June 2017 by JDI. The display supports Full HD+ resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels and it delivers an aspect ratio of 18:9. As shown in the below image, an iPhone featuring the Full Active display from JDI will be able to sport super-slim on all four sides.

Like the other OLED iPhones of 2018, the LCD iPhone is also expected to feature a notch. Also, instead of the stainless-steel frame, the LCD iPhone is rumored to feature an aluminum frame. It may not feature dual camera setup. Also, it is likely to lack 3D Touch.

As far as OLED iPhones for this year are concerned, one of them that will feature a 5.8-inch screen will arrive as a direct successor for the iPhone X. The other OLED iPhone is speculated to be fitted with a 6.5-inch display. These smartphones are expected to feature dual rear cameras and stainless-steel frame.

A recent report had claimed that the 6.5-inch OLED iPhone would be equipped with dual-SIM feature and 512 GB storage. None of the iPhones arriving this year are going to feature Touch ID sensors. All the 2018 iPhones are expected to arrive with True Depth and Face ID sensors.

As of this writing, there is no confirmation on the names of the 2018 iPhones. Recent reports have claimed that the Cupertino company will be launching the second-generation iPhone SE by the first half of this year. The other iPhones are expected to debut in September.
