Thermaltake launches its first gaming monitors with 2K resolution & 170Hz refresh rate

Taiwanese tech giant Thermaltake, renowned for PC hardware, is now venturing into gaming monitors. They’ve unveiled two models: the TGM-I27FQ (27 inches) and TGM-V32CQ (31.5 inches).

Thermaltake TGM-I27FQ & TGM-V32CQ specs

The TGM-I27FQ boasts a flat IPS panel with a sharp WQHD resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels), hitting a peak refresh rate of 165 Hz with a swift 1 ms response time. Expect a contrast ratio of 1000:1, 400 nits brightness, 10-bit color depth (8-bit + FRC), and a solid 95 percent DCI-P3 color coverage.

On the flip side, the TGM-V32CQ sports a 2K curved VA panel, handling the same WQHD resolution at up to 170 Hz. With a 3000:1 contrast ratio, it promises deep blacks. Response time clocks in at 4 ms (GTG), with a DCI-P3 color coverage of 90 percent.

Both monitors pack FreeSync Premium, G-Sync compatible Adaptive Sync, HDR support, and an anti-motion blur mode. Connectivity includes two HDMI 2.0 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4, and a headphone jack. The 27-inch model additionally features a USB 2.0 hub and a USB-C port (15W PD).

They both offer tilt, rotation, height adjustment, pivot, VESA mounting (75 x 75 mm), blue light filtering, and flicker-free backlighting.

Pricing & availability

Release dates are pending, but availability is anticipated in mid-November 2023 according to German retailers. The Thermaltake TGM-I27FQ will launch with a price tag of 389.90 euros, while the 32″ TGM-V32CQ will be priced at 349.90 euros.

MSI has just unveiled the G244PF E2, a 23.8-inch Full HD LCD display meant for gamers. This monitor comes with a multi-functional stand and some seriously impressive specs.

The MSI G244PF E2 monitor offers a rapid 1ms (GTG) response time and a high 180Hz refresh rate, ensuring a smooth gaming experience. The Adaptive-Sync technology eliminates screen tearing and stuttering.

For improved visibility in dark scenes and reduced eye strain during extended gaming sessions, the G244PF E2 is equipped with Night Vision, Anti-Flicker, and Less Blue Light technologies. With a brightness rating of 250 nits, support for 16.7 million display colors, and extensive color gamut coverage, it delivers impressive visuals. The monitor’s horizontal and vertical viewing angles of 178° ensure complete visibility from every angle.

Connectivity is straightforward, featuring DisplayPort 1.2a x 1, HDMI 2.0b x 2, and an earphone output. The stand allows for tilt, swivel, pivot, and height adjustment, offering flexibility in setup.

AOC Q27G2SD 27″ 2K IPS gaming monitor unveiled 170Hz refresh rate & high color accuracy

AOC has unveiled a new gaming monitor in the global market called the AOC Q27G2SD. This is a 27-inch IPS panel with a high refresh rate, and high color accuracy, making it ideal for both gaming and creative workflows.

AOC Q27G2SD specs

The AOC Q27G2SD monitor features a 27-inch IPS panel with 2K resolution (2560 × 1440 pixels). The maximum refresh rate of the panel is 170Hz which can be achieved using DisplayPort1.4. If you opt to use an HDMI 2.0 connector, the monitor will run at 144Hz. It has a typical brightness of 350nits and goes up to 400nits when viewing HDR content. It has a typical contrast ratio of 1000:1 and 80 Million:1 dynamic contrast ratio.

The monitor has a quick response time of 1 ms (MPRT) or 4 ms (GtG), reducing motion blur for smoother gaming and multimedia experiences. Its wide viewing angle of 178° (H) / 178° (V) (CR > 10) ensures consistent image quality from different perspectives. For color accuracy, the monitor covers NTSC 108%, sRGB 126%, and DCI-P3 99%, while maintaining Delta E < 2, delivering precise colors.

Connectivity options include HDMI 2.0 (HDR) x 2 and DisplayPort 1.4 (HDR) x 1, with HDCP versions HDMI 2.2 and DisplayPort 2.2, ensuring compatibility with various devices. The monitor doesn’t feature a USB hub, and it operates on a power supply of 100 – 240V ~ 1.5A, 50/60Hz, consuming approximately 40W (typical) during operation.

While the AOC Q27G2SD lacks built-in speakers, it does offer a line-in and earphone output option for audio connections. Additionally, the monitor is wall-mountable with a 100mm x 100mm VESA mount standard, providing flexibility in placement. The stand is adjustable, allowing for height adjustments of 130mm, swivel angles of -30° to 30°, pivot angles of 0° to 90°, and tilt angles of -5° to 23°. The monitor’s weight without the stand is 4.6kg, and with the stand, it is 5.7kg.

Pricing and availability details of the monitor are yet to be revealed, however, a recent report from list23 mentions that the AOC Q27G2SD will cost around $208 in China.

Acer recently launched the Nitro VG1 & VG0 series gaming monitors last week in Japan, the brand has now debuted the Acer Predator XB273UZ gaming monitor in Europe. This is a 27-inch 2K panel which comes with high refresh rate and multiple connectivity options. Let’s take a look at the details.

Acer Predator XB273UZ monitor specs

The Acer Predator XB273UZ monitor offers a 27-inch IP display that provides vibrant and sharp visuals. The monitor has a native brightness of 400 nits and a high contrast ratio of 100,000,000:1. With 178° viewing angles, you can comfortably see the screen from various positions.

The monitor boasts a fast 1 ms (G to G) response time, making it ideal for gaming and fast-paced content. The resolution options include 2560×1440 @144Hz, with an overclocking mode that can reach 270Hz through DP/Type-C connections.
