The iQOO 9 and the iQOO 9 Pro are up for pre-order on Amazon at the following price tags in India in Alpha/Dark Cruise and Legend (BMW M Motorsport Edition) color options.

Customers using ICICI Bank credit card or credit card EMI transactions are eligible for flat ₹4,000 and ₹6,000 discounts on iQOO 9 and iQOO 9 Pro respectively.  Similarly, they can also avail extra ₹3,000(non-Pro) and ₹4,000 (Pro) discounts on exchange, in addition to up to 12-month no-cost EMI.

iQOO 9, iQOO 9 Pro Specifications and Features

The iQOO 9 released in India is a new product altogether. On the other hand, the iQOO 9 Pro is the same as the one sold in China. 

The former is powered by a Snapdragon 888+ chipset, while the latter houses the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. Either way, both come with LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, a liquid cooling system, and an intelligent display chip for MEMC as well as SDR to HDR conversion.

The iQOO 9 sports a 6.56-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of FHD+ and up to 120Hz refresh rate as well as 300Hz touch sampling rate. Whereas, the iQOO 9 Pro flaunts a larger 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display with a resolution of 3200 x 1440 pixels (QHD+) and LTPO 2.0 technology. The screen’s refresh rate can go as low as 1Hz and as high as 120Hz. It also has support for up to 300Hz touch sampling rate.

Both phones have the same 16MP selfie camera, however, their triple rear camera systems are different. The one on the non-Pro consists of a 48MP Sony IMX598 primary sensor with gimbal OIS, a 13MP ultrawide-cum-macro snapper, and a 13MP 2x telephoto shooter. While the Pro’s camera setup comprises a 50MP Samsung ISOCELL GN5 primary sensor with gimbal OIS, a 50MP 150° ultra-wide unit, and a 16MP 2.5x telephoto lens.

The handsets run Funtouch OS 12 based on Android 12 and support 120W fast charging, in addition to 50W wireless charging on the Pro. They come with dual SIM card slots, 5G connectivity, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, GNSS, NFC, USB Type-C, dual stereo speakers, and an in-display fingerprint sensor. But the sensor on the Pro is ultrasonic as opposed to optical on the non-pro.

Last but not least, the iQOO 9 is backed by a 4,350mAh battery, whereas the iQOO 9 Pro gets its juice from a larger 4,700mAh battery.

Recently, iQOO teased its iQOO 9 flagship series’ India launch by creating a micro-site for the phones on its official website. However, it was learned that the iQOO 9 for the Indian market will be slightly tweaked, wherein the vanilla iQOO 9 for India will be the iQOO 8(Chinese model), while the iQOO 9 Pro India model could originally be the iQOO 9(Chinese model). Now, the tipster Yogesh Brar has revealed that despite the series being rebadged, these devices won’t have the same specs as that of the Chinese models.

Brar reaffirms that the iQOO 9 series will be a mix of iQOO 8 and iQOO 9 models. He reveals that the iQOO 9 India will be powered by the Snapdragon 888 SoC, while the Pro will have Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. He further reveals that the company will eliminate some features and hardware from the phones to keep the cost down.

This could be a legit move since a number of Snapdragon 888 phones are scheduled to launch in India. The upcoming OnePlus 9RT, the vanilla Realme GT 2, and Xiaomi 11T Pro are riffed to come powered by the Snapdragon 888 SoC. That said, tweaking the series as per the Indian market competition does make sense for the company.

Regarding the other specs, the iQOO 9 for India, may have the iQOO 8(China model) specs. But these will be slightly tweaked. The iQOO 8 has a 6.56-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. It has a 48MP + 13MP + 12MP triple rear camera system and a 16MP selfie snapper. The phone packs a 4,350mAh battery and has support for 120W fast charging.

On the other hand, the iQOO 9 Pro, the rumored iQOO 9 Chinese model, may come with a 6.78-inch curved LTPO AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh and a QHD+ resolution. The iQOO 9 Chinese model has a 50MP + 50MP + 16MP triple camera system and a 16MP selfie lens. It houses a 4,700mAh battery and 120W fast charging support.

Earlier today, a report cited that the iQOO 9 and 9 Pro may launch soon in India, however, its availability wasn’t backed by any official teasers. Later today, at the ongoing BGMI gaming event, iQOO officially teased the series’ arrival.

As per a teaser image, iQOO will soon launch the iQOO 9 and 9 Pro in India. The image shows the ‘coming soon’ status and reveals its specs.

The series is slated to come powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. It will have a whopping 120W FlashCharge support. While we get to learn its arrival, one this remains quite odd, the teaser image showcases the iQOO 9 Pro, however, it has the old iQOO 8 besides it.

It seems that the company will be launching a tweaked iQOO 9 series for India. The vanilla iQOO 9 for India will actually be the iQOO 8.

To corroborate, the company has also published the landing page of the iQOO 9 series in India. The landing page shows the phones, teases some specs, and lets fans register for getting notified about its release.

Coming to the iQOO 9 series, the iQOO 9 for India which will apparently be the iQOO 8(Chinese model) was launched back in August 2021. It has a 6.56-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The device is powered by the Snapdragon 888 SoC and packs a 4,350mAh battery. It has 120W fast charging support.

As for cameras, the phone has a 48MP + 13MP + 12MP triple camera setup and features a 16MP selfie lens. It has a small vertical camera module, unlike the rectangular camera island on the iQOO 9 Pro.

The iQOO 9 Pro will have some distinguishing specs over the iQOO 9 India(iQOO 8). It will feature a larger 6.78-inch QHD+ curved LTPO AMOLED display. It will have a 120Hz refresh rate. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC paired and pack a 4,700mAh battery with 120W fast charging support. In China, the smartphone equips a 50MP + 50MP + 16MP triple camera lens and a 16MP selfie snapper.

iQOO has scheduled to launch the iQOO 9 series on January 5 in China. Ahead of its launch, the company had revealed the phone’s rear design confirming it to be way different from the current iQOO 8’s design. Now, iQOO has shared more images of the phone, and this time, the phone’s front design has been revealed.

According to the images, the iQOO 9 will come with a punch-hole display with thin bezels on all the corners. The smartphone will have a centre punch-hole cut-out for the selfie camera. The device is also visible from the sides and it shows its slim form factor. Furthermore, it has a volume rocker and a power button on the right spine.

The company seems to have sponsored a smartphone gaming tournament and the back of the device is clearly visible in the promotional images. It has an oversized camera island that is placed horizontally. It holds three camera lenses. It does not reveal any camera details but the text on the camera island confirms it to have optical image stabilization(OIS).

Apart from that, the phone has a white paint job and a design similar to the predecessor. The BMW branded vertical strip is still there and it also has an iQOO branding at the bottom.

Coming to the specs, the iQOO 9 will come powered by a 6.78-inch FHD+ E5 AMOLED display. It will feature a 50MP S5KGN5 primary sensor with OIS support. It will be accompanied by 13MP and 12MP Sony IMX663 sensors. Upfront, it will have a 16MP selfie camera.

Under the hood, it will come powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and have a 4,700mAh battery. It will have support for 120W fast charging support. Major highlights of the phone will be the optical in-display fingerprint scanner, dual x-axis linear motors, and it will also feature a dual-speaker setup.
