The post iQOO Z9 Lite 5G goes on sale in India, starts at Rs 9,999 appeared first on Gizmochina.

iQOO has just launched the iQOO Z9 Lite 5G in India. The device is the company’s most affordable 5G phone, with a starting price of Rs 9,999 (~$120 – inclusive of offers). Here are my first impressions about iQOO’s latest mid-range powerhouse:

Design and Display

I received the Mocha Brown variant of the Z9 Lite. As can be seen in the images, it has a matte shimmery finish on the back, and the flat edge of the phone feels good in hand. The IP64 rating for dust and water resistance provides peace of mind against accidental spills or exposure to dust.

The iQOO Z9 Lite 5G has a teardrop notch display with thick bezels on all four sides, which is a bit of a letdown. However, the 6.56-inch IPS LCD HD+ resolution panel offers good sun legibility as it supports up to 840 nits of brightness. The screen supports a 90Hz refresh rate, which enables a smooth experience during usage. While it lacks HDR support, it supports HD content on Netflix and Prime Video as it is a Widevine L1-certified device.

Performance and Software

The MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset is a slightly overclocked version of the existing Dimensity 810 chipset, which is coupled with LPDDR4x RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage. The phone comes in 4GB and 6GB RAM variants, both offering 128GB of storage. The device supports up to 6GB of virtual RAM and has a microSD card slot for additional storage. In terms of gaming, the device is good enough for casual gaming.

The 5000mAh battery easily lasts me through a full day with normal usage. The in-box 45W charger allows the phone to go from 0 to 100 percent in nearly 2 hours. Since it is an entry-level 5G phone, here’s how it performed in a 5G speed test on a Jio network.

The iQOO Z9 Lite runs on the latest FunTouch OS 14 based on Android 14. It comes with some handy features, such as the App Retainer, which is useful for quickly resuming apps where I left off, and the ability to hide sensitive photos, adding an extra layer of privacy. It is good to know that Z9 Lite owners will receive Android upgrades for two years and security updates for three years. Shown above is how the device performs on different benchmarking apps.

Another good thing about the device’s software is that while there are many preloaded apps, most of them are from Google and iQOO, with some additional apps like PhonePe, Netflix, and Truecaller. To sum up, there are no annoying investment apps, unnecessary party app store apps, or short video creation apps, which are usually considered bloatware.

Cameras and Other Features

For selfies, the iQOO Z9 Lite 5G has an 8-megapixel OmniVision OV8A010 front camera and a 50-megapixel Sony IMX852 + 2-megapixel macro dual-camera setup on the back. When the lighting is good, the Z9 Lite 5G managed to capture decent shots.

The main camera supports 2x in-sensor zoom, while the same sensor captures portrait shots in 1x. The other photography modes available on the device include Night, Video, 50MP, Panorama, Documents, Slow Motion, Timelapse, Pro, and Live Photo. In addition, the device allows beautification features, filters, and aperture settings (portrait mode). When it comes to video recording, the front and rear cameras offer up to 30fps 1080p video recording, but there is no stabilization support as it is a budget device.

For security, the device is equipped with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. When it comes to audio, it features a top-mounted speaker and a 3.5mm audio jack available on the bottom edge. Even the earpiece of the device emits sound while playing audio or video.

For additional storage, the device features a hybrid SIM slot, which supports two SIM cards or one SIM card and a microSD card at a time.

Final thoughts

In conclusion, the iQOO Z9 Lite 5G is a decent device if you are looking for the latest and budget-friendly 5G phone. It is good to see iQOO offer longer software support for this device when many of the competing devices in the price segment get only at least one major Android upgrade. The offer price of Rs 9,999 makes it a good 5G budget phone contender. However, if you can shell out a few more thousand Rupees, you will find several good options, one of them being the Redmi 13 5G, which recently debuted for Rs 13,999.

iQOO Z9 Lite 5G price in India

The iQOO Z9 Lite 5G has arrived in India with two options: 4GB+128GB for Rs 10,499 (~$125) and 6GB+128GB for Rs 11,499. The phone is scheduled to go on sale on July 20 through Amazon India and iQOO India’s e-store. Those who are interested can take advantage of a Rs 500 discount via ICICI and HDFC credit/debit card and credit card EMI transactions until July 31.

The post iQOO Z9 Lite 5G first impressions: Will this be your first 5G phone? appeared first on Gizmochina.

The budget smartphone market is heating up with the launch of the iQOO Z9 Lite 5G and the Realme C65 5G. Both phones offer 5G connectivity, capable processors, and attractive features at competitive prices. However, there are key differences to consider before making a purchase decision. This detailed comparison will delve into the specifics of each phone to help you determine which one is the right fit for you.

Display

The iQOO Z9 Lite 5G features a 6.56-inch HD+ (1612 x 720 pixels) LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate. The Realme C65 5G boasts a larger 6.67-inch HD+ (1604 x 720 pixels) LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate.

While both offer an immersive viewing experience for everyday use, the Realme C65 5G wins with a slightly bigger screen and a smoother 120Hz refresh rate for gamers and those who prioritize a fluid visual experience. However, iQOO Z9 Lite 5G shines brighter with its 840 nits peak brightness compared to Realme C65 5G’s 625 nits.

Design and Build

The iQOO Z9 Lite 5G comes in Aqua Flow and Mocha Brown colors and weighs 185g. The Realme C65 5G is available in Feather Green and Glowing Black colors and weighs 190g. Both phones offer a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The iQOO Z9 Lite 5G boasts dust and splash resistance with an IP64 rating. The Realme C65 5G offers a similar level of protection with an IP54 rating. Both phones should be able to withstand splashes and dust, but the iQOO Z9 Lite 5G might offer slightly better protection against dust ingress.

Performance and Software

Both phones are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor, which is a capable chipset for everyday tasks and light gaming. They come with options for either 4GB or 6GB of LPDDR4x RAM.

Both devices offer an additional 6GB of virtual RAM, potentially enhancing multitasking capabilities. Storage-wise, the iQOO Z9 Lite 5G provides 128GB eMMC 5.1 storage, while the Realme C65 5G offers 64GB or 128GB UFS 2.2 storage. UFS storage is generally faster than eMMC, leading to quicker app loading times and data transfer speeds on the Realme C65 5G.

In terms of software, the iQOO Z9 Lite runs Android 14 with Funtouch OS 14 and promises two years of Android updates and three years of security updates. The Realme C65 also runs Android 14 but with Realme UI 5.0, offering its own set of features and customizations.

Camera

The iQOO Z9 Lite 5G sports a dual rear camera system with a 50MP main sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. The Realme C65 5G keeps things simple with a single 50MP rear camera. Both phones have an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.

While the megapixel count isn’t everything, the iQOO Z9 Lite 5G’s additional depth sensor might offer a slight edge in portrait shots with background blur. However, camera performance heavily relies on software optimization as well, so reviews comparing image quality from both phones would be helpful to determine the true winner in this category.

Battery

Both phones pack a 5000mAh battery, promising long battery life for everyday use. With similar screen sizes and processors, the battery performance is likely to be comparable. Both phones support 15W fast charging, so there’s no significant difference in charging speeds either.

Price

The iQOO Z9 Lite 5G starts at Rs. 10,499 for the 4GB RAM variant, while the 6GB RAM model costs Rs. 11,499. The Realme C65 5G starts at the same price point (Rs. 10,499) for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage variant. The 4GB RAM with 128GB storage option costs Rs. 11,499, putting it on par with the base variant of the iQOO Z9 Lite 5G with 6GB RAM. The top-end Realme C65 5G with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at Rs. 12,499.

Conclusion

Both the iQOO Z9 Lite 5G and Realme C65 5G offer compelling features and excellent value for their price. The Z9 Lite might appeal to those who prioritize a compact design, slightly better camera capabilities due to the depth sensor, and enhanced dust and water resistance. The Realme C65, on the other hand, could be a better choice for users who prefer a larger display with a faster refresh rate and slightly more storage options.

Ultimately, the best choice between the two depends on your individual preferences and priorities. Consider factors like screen size, refresh rate, camera features, and storage options before making your final decision. Both phones represent solid options in the budget 5G smartphone market, offering a balance of performance, features, and affordability.

The post iQOO Z9 Lite 5G vs Realme C65 5G comparison: Which phone offers better value? appeared first on Gizmochina.

The iQOO Z9 Lite 5G was just announced in the Indian market today as a budget 5G smartphone. With entry level 5G devices being in high demand in the region, how does the Z9 Lite stack up against an alternative from Xiaomi in the same segment? The Redmi 13 5G dropped earlier this month, so let’s see how the two compare.

iQOO Z9 Lite 5G vs Redmi 13 5G: Taller & Smoother Display on Redmi

iQOO unveiled the Z9 Lite with a 6.56-inch IPS LCD panel that offers HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. This is a decent offering for a budget smartphone model. On the other hand, the Redmi 13 5G arrives with a tall 6.79-inch IPS LCD screen, which offers a higher FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. So you’re getting a taller screen with a higher resolution, making it better for consuming content at a better quality. The 120Hz refresh rate also makes it smoother than the Z9 Lite.

Dimensity 6300 against the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 AE

The Redmi 13 5G is equipped with the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 AE (Accelerated Edition). It is paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. This chip from Qualcomm has an edge in terms of raw performance compared to the Dimensity 6300, which powers the iQOO Z9 Lite. The MediaTek processor is coupled with just 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. So you get 2GB more RAM with the Redmi phone (depending on the storage configuration).

Camera

For optics, you get a 50-megapixel primary camera along with a 2-megapixel depth sensor on the iQOO Z9 Lite. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel shooter. Meanwhile, the Redmi 13 5G features a 108-megapixel main sensor along with a 2-megapixel macro lens on the rear. For selfies and video calls, there is a 13-megapixel camera on the front.

Battery, Fast charging, & More

A large 5,000mAh battery pack powers the Z9 Lite. This model supports a modest 15W wired fast charging. The Redmi 13 5G edges ahead with a marginally larger 5,030mAh cell, although it has a noticeably higher 33W wired fast charging support. One area where the iQOO Z9 Lite is ahead of the Redmi 13 is the water and dust resistance rating. The former comes with an IP64 rating, while the latter has an IP53 rating.

Pricing

Both smartphones are available in two storage options. The iQOO Z9 Lite is available in 4GB + 128GB and 6GB + 128GB versions. Redmi’s affordable phone can be purchased in 6GB + 128GB and 8GB + 128GB variants. The Z9 Lite has a starting price tag of 10,499 INR, while the Redmi 13 starts from 13,999 INR.

There isn’t a large price gap between the two, but people on a strict budget of around 10,000 INR would likely choose the iQOO Z9 Lite. However, the Redmi 13 for a slightly higher price tag seems like the better budget phone between the two.

iQOO Z9 Lite key specs confirmed

More details about the iQOO Z9 Lite 5G will be revealed in the coming days leading up to the launch event on July 15. It seems that the device is a rebranded version of the Vivo T3 Lite that was announced in India last month. The latter features a 6.5-inch display with an HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. It draws its power from a 5,000mAh battery with support for 15W charging. The device is equipped with the same Dimensity 6300 SoC coupled with either 4GB or 6GB RAM and 128GB storage.

The iQOO Z9 Lite 5G is tipped to be an entry-level 5G smartphone from the Vivo sub-brand. To recall, the Z9x 5G and Z9 5G smartphones start at Rs 12,999 and Rs 19,999 respectively. We will learn official details about the smartphone on July 15.

iQOO is all set to launch the Z9 Lite in India later this month. This device is a mid-range model that will offer 5G connectivity for an affordable price. So what can we expect from this device? What specs and features will the Z9 Lite ship with? Here’s a quick breakdown of everything you need to know.

iQOO Z9 Lite: 5G processor from MediaTek

The Chinese brand just confirmed the Indian launch date for the iQOO Z9 Lite via an Amazon listing. The microsite revealed the 15th July 2024 launch date but also confirmed more details regarding its specifications. We know that this device offers 5G networking thanks to its MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC. This processor is paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It is unknown whether other storage configuration will also be available in India. Although, it may offer storage expansion via a microSD card slot.

Familiar design in two new colors

Reports have hinted that the iQOO Z9 Lite is basically a rebranded Vivo T3 Lite. This is apparent when we look at the designs of the two mid-range devices. These look practically identical with the textured rear panel and the camera module, which houses the two image sensors. But while the Vivo T3 Lite comes in a Vibrant Green and Majestic Black, the iQOO Z9 Lite is rumored to launch in brown and blue color options. An official tweet that was shared earlier today (2nd July 2024) showcased the smartphone in the Blue option.

What’s on the front and back?

iQOO hasn’t revealed finer details like its camera or display specifications so far. If the rebranded Vivo T3 Lite rumor is true, then the iQOO Z9 Lite could also sport a 6.56-inch LCD panel that offers HD+ resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, a 90Hz refresh rate, and up to 840 nits of peak brightness. For photography, you get a 50-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel depth sensor on the rear. Meanwhile, the front houses an 8-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calls.

Other specs & expected pricing

iQOO Z9 Lite is a brand-new device, which will likely run on the Android 14 OS based Funtouch OS 14 custom skin out of the box. A large 5,000mAh battery pack may power this phone, which supports 15W wired fast charging. Other notable features include an IP64 rating for water and dust resistance, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Bluetooth 5.4, USB Type-C port, and a side mounted fingerprint scanner.

The Vivo T3 Lite came in two storage options, namely 4GB + 128GB and 6GB + 128GB variants. It has a starting price tag of 10,499 INR, while the higher end option was announced for 11,499 INR. So we can expect a similar price range that is likely under 12,000 INR.
