<p>We have already covered rumors and reports regarding the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-nord-3/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">OnePlus Nord 3</a> that has revealed its design and even most of its crucial specifications. But a new leak has revealed an interesting feature that will be making a return to the popular Nord series.</p>

<h4>OnePlus Nord 3 may let you control your ACs, TV, and other home appliances</h4>

<p>According to <em><a href="https://twitter.com/MaxJmb/status/1654038255917060097?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1654038255917060097%7Ctwgr%5E1bce4cd9da7036b6c22afe840572c9fe398ef51d%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.thetechoutlook.com%2Fnews%2Fnew-release%2Fgadgets-release%2Fmobile%2Foneplus-nord-3-tipped-to-bring-back-the-ir-blaster-along-with-an-app-that-controls-your-home-appliances%2F" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Max Jambor</a></em>, the Chinese smartphone maker is planning to bring back the IR Blaster sensor on the Nord 3 model. For those unaware, this feature basically makes your smartphone gain remote control functionality, allowing you to control your Air Conditioner, TV, and other home appliances. He further claimed that this feature will even be paired with a dedicated application for better controls.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="680" height="383" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/FvRTBnDWcAU4aPT.jpeg?x44794" alt="OnePlus" class="wp-image-534812" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/FvRTBnDWcAU4aPT.jpeg 680w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/FvRTBnDWcAU4aPT-300x169.jpeg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 680px) 100vw, 680px" /></figure></div>

<p>This was all the information shared by the tipster, although the device is believed to be a Ace 2V model that was previously launched in China. In other words, we already know what features the Nord 3 will launch with. This includes a tall 6.74 inch OLED display that supports Full HD+ resolution and 120Hz resfresh rate. Under the hood, it will be equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC that will be paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.</p>

<p>The rear will feature a 64 megapixel triple camera setup on the rear, while the front houses a 16 megapixel selfie shooter. OnePlus Nord 3 is believed to be powered by a large 5,000mAh battery pack that supports 80W fast charging support. The handset is expected to be announced sometime between May and June 2023 and has already been spotted on <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2023/04/28/oneplus-nord-3-tkdn/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">various certification websites</a>, so stick around for more updates regarding this matter.</p>

<p><img loading="lazy" class=" wp-image-325442 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/f5482f32-aea2-4dec-a4eb-7525ea581fab.png?x44794" alt="Honor" width="371" height="665" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/f5482f32-aea2-4dec-a4eb-7525ea581fab.png 471w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/f5482f32-aea2-4dec-a4eb-7525ea581fab-167x300.png 167w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/f5482f32-aea2-4dec-a4eb-7525ea581fab-234x420.png 234w" sizes="(max-width: 371px) 100vw, 371px" /></p>
<p>This feature had also been hinted at a recent teaser for the upcoming handset. In the promotional poster image, a temperature checking infrared machine can be observed, which is used to measure a person&#8217;s temperature. So, we can expect such functionality to make its way to the Honor Play 4.</p>
<h6 class="related"><strong>Editor&#8217;s Pick: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/06/01/honor-play4-pro-full-specifications-appears-ahead-of-june-3-launch/">Honor Play4 Pro full specifications appear ahead of June 3 launch</a></strong></h6>
<p>Recently, the Product Manager of Honor Play, Wei Xiaolong, revealed a few key features of its upcoming device. This included a quad camera setup on the rear, the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/kirin-990/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Kirin 990 5G SoC</a>, and an infrared sensor. While the latter two arrive as no surprise, the inclusion of the IR sensor adds a degree of additional functionality to a smartphone. One can use it to control home products like TVs, ACs, and more.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-325399 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Honor-Play4-render-black.jpg?x44794" alt="Honor Play 4" width="3000" height="1395" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Honor-Play4-render-black.jpg 3000w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Honor-Play4-render-black-300x140.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Honor-Play4-render-black-768x357.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Honor-Play4-render-black-1024x476.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Honor-Play4-render-black-696x324.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Honor-Play4-render-black-1068x497.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Honor-Play4-render-black-903x420.jpg 903w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Honor-Play4-render-black-1920x893.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 3000px) 100vw, 3000px" /></p>
<p>Although, the Honor Play 4&#8217;s infrared sensor also serves another special function. It can measure the temperature. During this time of crisis, with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/coronavirus/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Coronavirus</a> pandemic being a cause for global concern, this feature can be especially useful. Many public spaces like malls, shopping complexes, and more will measure the temperatures of a person to determine if they are sick or not. Thus, the Honor Play 4 being able to measure temperatures of a person could make it quite useful, especially for general consumers.</p>
