iRobot continues to expand its product line. For example, the company recently introduced two new models called Roomba Combo j5 Plus and Roomba Combo i5 Plus, which were well-received by users for their mid-range price. Now, iRobot is targeting premium users with the $1,399 premium Roomba Combo j9+ robot vacuum and dock.

The Roomba Combo j9+ features iRobot’s latest technology, including PrecisionVision Navigation 2.0, which allows the robot to map your home and avoid obstacles more precisely. It also has a Dirt Detect sensor that can identify areas of high-traffic and focus cleaning efforts there. For mopping, the Combo j9+ uses a disposable microfiber pad that can be attached to the bottom of the robot.

The pad is moistened with water and can be used to clean hard floors. The Roomba Combo j9+ also comes with a Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal system, which empties the robot’s dustbin after every cleaning. Both models come with a Clean Base automatic dirt disposal system. This system automatically empties the robot’s dustbin after each cleaning, so you don’t have to worry about it.

You can control the both Roomba using the iRobot app, which is available for iOS and Android devices. The app allows you to start and stop cleaning, schedule cleanings, and view cleaning reports.

iRobot has just launched a new range of automated vacuum cleaners in India, expanding its existing portfolio in the region. The new vacuum cleaners include the Roomba i3 and Roomba i3+.

As per the official notes, the new vacuum cleaners from the popular robotic consumer products maker arrive with stylish design and advanced features for customers on both offline and online stores. Similar to the Roomba i7+, the Roomba i3+ is equipped with Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal, which empties the debris on its own without user interaction in a 60 day cycle. All the dust is stored in the AllergenLock bag that offers four layers of allergen blocking material to trap pollen and mold.

Both the Roomba i3 and i3+ can be paired with the iRobot Home App, which offers a higher degree of control along with a personalized cleaning experience as well. This app is available for Android and iOS. Furthermore, the app can also offer suggestions regarding cleaning schedules based on cleaning jobs, pet shedding, and other personalized suggestions. The new vacuum cleaners are also designed in a manner to blend in well with modern homes.

The new Roomba i3 series start from 49,900 INR (roughly 680 US Dollars) for the base model and 69,900 INR (roughly 950 US Dollars) for the higher end model. However, the company is offering a promotional first sale offer for official stores in India, which can bring down the price to 39,900 INR (roughly 540 US Dollars) for the i3 and 59,900 INR (roughly 815 US Dollars) for the i3+. These offers can are only for a limited time and can be available on offline stores and e-commerce platforms like Amazon and Flipkart.

A 30-second time lapse video was released online comparing the yet-to-be released vacuum to the popular iRobot Roomba 880. In the video, the robot vacuums are put in nearly identical rooms. The Mi Robot completes it’s cleaning task in less time than the iRobot 880 and also does it better thanks to its path planning function before returning to it’s original starting position. The iRobot 880 can be seen stuck at one section of the room and doesn’t return to it’s original position till the end of the video.

While iRobot is a well known brand, it seems it already has a more than capable competitor which is expected to cost even less. Rumours going round says Xiaomi’s Mi Robot Vacuum is expected to cost less than 3000 Yuan ($449) which is cheaper than the 3500 Yuan ($524) price the Roomba sells for.

The Mi Robot Vacuum is expected to launch on August 31.
