<p>Samsung says the ISOCELL Slim GH1 is designed for slim full-display smartphones thanks to its small profile. The 43.7MP sensor will allow manufacturers to be able to design slimmer and sleeker devices.</p>
<p>The small 0.7μm pixels of the sensor are able to absorb sufficient light for bright and sharp images thanks to Samsung&#8217;s ISOCELL Plus technology. ISOCELL Plus uses Samsung&#8217;s Pixel Isolation technology to minimize color cross-talk and optical loss. While in low-light environments, the sensor uses “pixel-merging Teracell technology that enables higher light sensitivity that is equivalent to a 1.4μm image sensor”.</p>
<p>The sensor has a resolution of 7968 x 5480 and can record 4K videos without cropping out the field of view. Samsung says the sensor converts to 3984 x 2740 which is higher than 4K (3840 x 2160), hence, it is able to capture more details when recording at 60T frames per second.</p>
<p>The Samsung ISOCELL Slim GH1 also supports EIS, PDAF, Super PD, and real-time HDR for fast and accurate autofocus and sharper images respectively.</p>
<p>Samsung says it will begin mass production of the sensor by the end of the year, so we expect it to appear in devices by the beginning of 2020.</p>
<p>Samsung has announced some major sensors in the past year. First, it announced the 48MP ISOCELL GM1 present in a lot of mid-range phones. Then the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/05/09/samsung-64-mp-isocell-bright-gw1-gm2-sensors/">64MP ISOCELL Bright GW1 and the 48MP ISOCELL Bright GM2</a> followed in May. In August, it announced the 108MP ISOCELL Bright HMX which is present in the newly announced <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/09/24/xiaomi-mi-mix-alpha-5g-launched-surround-display-108mp-camera/">Mi MIX Alpha</a>.</p>
<p>We can&#8217;t wait to see Samsung&#8217;s financial report when the year ends.</p>
