Itel has just launched a new smartphone in the Indian market. The device in question is the Itel A70, which is an entry level model. It was first announced in the global market back in October 2023 and has now made its way to the Southeast Asian country.

Itel A70 Specs

The Itel A70 sports a 6.6-inch LCD panel that offers HD+ resolution, 120Hz touch sampling rate, and 500 nits of peak brightness. Under the hood, it is equipped with the UNISOC T603 SoC that is paired with 4GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. The memory can be further expanded by another 8GB via virtual RAM expansion, while the storage can also be enhanced by a microSD card slot.

The budget phone features a 13-megapixel camera on the rear, which is paired with an AI lens and LED flash. Meanwhile, the front houses an 8-megapixel selfie shooter. A large 5,000mAh battery pack powers this device that is charged via a USB Type C port. Other notable features include a side mounted fingerprint scanner, face unlock, 3.5mm headphone jack, Dynamic bar on the display, and 8.6mm thickness.

Itel A70 Pricing and Availability

The Itel A70 will go on sale in India on January 5 at 12 PM IST via Amazon. It will be available in multiple color options, namely Field Green, Azure Blue, Brilliant Gold, and Starlish Black. The device has a starting price tag of 6,299 INR for the 4GB + 64GB variant. On the other hand, the 4GB + 128GB and 4GB + 256GB options are priced at 6,799 INR and 7,299 INR respectively. Notably, the company is also offering an 800 INR bank offer on the 128GB variant.

Recently, itel launched the Roar 75 open-ear buds in India. The brand has confirmed that it will launch the itel A70 smartphone soon. To recall, the itel A70 4G debuted in the global markets in October. Amazon has put up a microsite of the upcoming offering revealing its design and also confirming the availability on the e-commerce platform.

The itel A70 has a flat frame design and a SIM tray on the left edge. On the front, the device has a waterdrop notch upon taking a closer look. It seems that there will be some software-based feature to mimic Apple’s Dynamic Island. There is a thick bottom chin. The smartphone is seen in four color options including Black, Light Blue, Yellow, and Green. 

The itel A70 is confirmed to pack 256GB internal storage and 12GB RAM. The RAM capacity is likely after including virtual RAM which is said to be 8GB. One of the images also reveals a 128GB storage option. 

The itel A70 is said to be priced under Rs 8,000. If this indeed turns out to be true, then it will be the first phone in the price segment to pack 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The itel A70 is expected to launch in January, however, the exact date remains a mystery. 

Going by the leaked info, the itel A70 for the Indian market appears to be the same device as the itel A70 4G. It features a 6.6-inch display, a Unisoc T603 processor, a 5,000mAh battery and runs on Android 13 Go edition.

Recently iTel launched the T1 Pro TWS earphones in India. The brand also announced the S23+ and P55 smartphones in the country last month. Now, it seems that iTel is reportedly working on the budget device called the A70. The upcoming offering has been spotted on the Google Play Console listing revealing its render and key specifications. Let’s take a look below. 

iTel A70 appears on Google Play Console

The iTel A70 has surfaced on the Google Play Console certification website with the model number A665L. As per the render, the device has a waterdrop notch display along with a thick bottom chin. The power and volume rocker buttons are located on the right side. The listing reveals that it will feature a display resolution of 720 x 1,612 pixels and a 320dpi screen density. 

Under the hood, the iTel A70 is listed with a Spreadtrum T603 processor comprising of four Cortex-A55 cores at 1.8GHz and another four Cortex-A55 cores ticking at 1.2GHz. There is a PowerVR GE8322 GPU onboard. As per the Play Console certification, the smartphone will pack 4GB RAM and shiip with Android 13 OS out of the box. 

The Google Play Console certification does not reveal the rest of the details of the iTel A70. We should expect more information to surface in the coming weeks.  In other news, the recently announced iTel S23+ is the most affordable phone with curved display under the Rs 15,000 price tag whereas the iTel P55 is a 5G phone under Rs 10,000.
