The M6 Note was Meizu’s comeback phone for 2017. The mid-range phone helped it win back its fans following the disappointing Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus.

The Meizu M6 Note originally launched for ¥1099 (~$166) for the 3GB + 16GB model, ¥1299 (~$196) for the 3GB + 32GB model, and ¥1699 (~$256) for the 4GB + 64GB model. Meizu also announced a 4GB + 32GB model for ¥1499 (~$226). A couple of months later, Meizu slashed their prices by ¥200 with the base model selling for ¥899 (~$136).

Right now, Jingdong is selling the 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM variant for ¥699 (~$106), making it one of the cheapest Snapdragon 625 phones in the market.

The M6 Note may not have an 18:9 display like most phones do today, but it is full HD. It also has impressive dual rear cameras, a 16MP selfie camera, and a more than sufficient 4,000mAh battery. The phone also scores points for design.

One of China’s popular online retail stores, JD.com (Jingdong Mall) carried out its first robot delivery yesterday. Jingdong has been working on using robots in some of its departments just like Amazon. The online mall now has a UAV operations center that oversees the use of robots in logistics and distribution.

At exactly 9:00 AM yesterday, Jingdong delivered its first product using a robot from its branch at the Renmin University of China in Beijing. The package was delivered to a lecture hall a few hundred meters from the store.

Jingdong says for robot deliveries, a message is sent via the Jingdong app, SMS or email to inform owners of  their orders. The message also contains a code that will be used to access the robot’s package compartment to retrieve their order.

Jingdong says the robot has sensors that helps it avoid obstacles including cars and pedestrians and will automatically stop once the obstacle is about 3 meters away. It is also able to climb slopes with an incline angle of up to 25°.

Jingdong says it is also testing the new mode of delivery in other universities like the Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, and Chang’an University to name a few. Each robot can carry up to 5 packages and make between 10 to 20 deliveries per day.

Other features the retail giant plans to roll out in its robot delivery system include facial recognition, ability to carry heavy items, and the ability to work under any weather condition. Jingdong says it will still continue to use regular human delivery alongside the new delivery system.

Turns out the Xiaomi official website is not the only place where discounts for the Mi Festival will run. Online mall, Jingdong will also be running its own sales. If you are out for a new phone, then you may want to consider the Xiaomi Mi 5s which is getting discounted on the site.

The Mi 5s is the successor to the Mi 5. They have the same screen size but the Mi 5s is powered by a Snapdragon 821 processor and features an under-glass fingerprint scanner up front. The Mi 5s is also made out of metal instead of glass like the Mi 5.

The 3GB + 64GB variant sells for ¥1999 ($290) but Jingdong will let you have it for ¥1799 ($261) if you pay in full upfront. If you pay ¥990 ($144) upfront, your discount is lowered to ¥100. Sadly, the discount doesn’t apply to the 4GB + 32GB variant and the 4GB + 128GB model. The former sells for ¥1949 ($283).

OnePlus added the OnePlus 3T flagship as an upgraded version of the OnePlus 3 and it went official in November last year. Since then, the device has been eluding potential buyers because of the high demand for the flagship when compared with the availability. Thus, the 3T has only been available via flash sales.

However, it seems OnePlus is making things a lot easier as the OnePlus 3T has been listed on Jingdong (JD.com) for on the spot sales. The sale is only open for the 6GB + 64GB variant of the device and you get to choose between the Gunmetal and Soft Gold color options. As a reminder, the OnePlus 3T features a premium and sleek metal unibody with a 5.5-inch Optic AMOLED display and a Snapdragon 821 processor clocked at 2.35GHz. HMD Global launched its first Nokia android smartphone a few days ago since it took over the license to release phones under the brand name. The new phone called the Nokia 6 has received a not-so-friendly welcome due to its use of the Snapdragon 430 SoC which apart from being old is also not as powerful as other mid-range chips and therefore doesn’t justify the high price Nokia is asking for the phone.

Earlier today, the company (HMD) held a meeting in China where it hinted at a new phone launching at MWC 2017. The hint came as part of a slide used during the meeting and loosely translates to ‘See (you) at MWC 2017, February 26’.

While HMD did not explicitly mention that the phone launching will have a snapdragon 835 processor, the company had issued a statement in the past when asked about a Snapdragon 835 phone that the new high-end chip had just been released and it will need some time to prepare, and will make the announcement when the time is right. It appears that today’s meeting was the right time.

It was also mentioned at the meeting that the Nokia 6 will go on sale at 10:00 am on the 19th of January and will be sold exclusively by Jingdong. It is reported that HMD and Jingdong have signed a 5-year agreement giving the latter exclusive marketing rights in China.

The Nokia 6 has a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, a 16MP rear camera, and an 8MP front camera. There is a 3.5mm audio jack and dual speakers at the base. The phone also has Dolby ATMOS surround sound and a built-in 3000mAh battery. It is priced at ¥1699 (~$245).

The tablet market seems to be getting edged out by large display sporting smartphones but that has not stopped China’s e-commerce outfit, Jingdong (JD.com) from making its own attempt at producing tablets. Jingdong has officially launched a new tablet called JDtab and it is even up for grabs already on Jingdong mall were reservations have commenced.

The JDtab is said to be the product of a collaboration between Jingdong, Meizu, Harman Kardon, Foxconn and LeEco. The tablet comes with a very surprising specs lineup that tend to push it away from the mid-budget category even though it carries a mid-budget price tag. The most outstanding features should be the Meizu Flyme OS and built-in Harman Kardon audio speakers it packs.

Specifications & Hardwares

JDtab comes with an all-metal body made of high strength aluminum manufactured using CNC process. Foxconn did the manfacturing so the design of the Jingdong tablet, though simple but it comes out sleek. The tablet also comes with custom Harman Kardon audio speakers which supports Hi-Hi sound quality.

The tablet sports a 7.85-inch display with a resolution of 2048 x 1536 pixels and 325ppi. The sleek tablet is equipped with a 2GHz quad-core processor but the model name is not known presently. The memory on the tablet is combination of 4GB RAM and 64GB of storage.

On the camera end, there is a cool 8MP rear camera sensor with LED flash and up front, the JDtab packs a 5MP front-facing camera for decent looking selfies. There is also a large 6200mAh battery crammed under the hood. The tablet also comes with LeEco’s music/video services with free VIP membership for 1 year. And on the software aspect, it runs on Meizu Flyme OS which is based on Android OS.

Pricing

Despite its rich specs lineup, the JDtab carries a modest price tag of 1499 yuan ($215) and is up for pre-orders already on Jingdong Mall.
